  1. As someone else mentioned, Zorn will do fearful right before Toth jumps; you have to keep an eye on your debuffs and pay attention to when you get fearful, tab target to pick up Toth wait half a second (time it taks for Toth to jump) and taunt. You should never be below 60% life if you have a competent healer on this fight, even if your other tank is crap and slow on taunting Zorn, you should be fine.
  2. I guess you could leave alts at 49, but for the most part are level 50's will be geared out very well ad will progress at a faster pace then someone who has rested exp from grinding up from 1 to 55, instead of just 50-55. On a sidenote rested xp effects only xp from kills, the majority of the experience we get comes from quests.
  3. SM KP and SM LI if i remember right. Find a decent marauder or PT and you can duo SM LI rather quickly.
  4. Because they are a bussiness, because they have overhead, thousand of employees to pay.... Let say you deliver newspapers, and was asked to include in every news paper that you deliver, an additional section of the paper... which would cause you to spend more time preparing the papers for delivery, weigh more as your ride on your block around the street, and the cost of the additional section came out of your salary....The thing is that some people you deliver the paper to would be happier with their paper and with you, while some will still be upset with you, and some wouldnt care one way or another. There is the slight possibility though that you could expand the amount of people you do deliver your paper to, but is highly unlikely that you would get enough new subscribers to pay for the additional section added to the paper. Would you agree to delivering the additional section of the newspaper? I highly doubt it
  5. When i first started playing this game i leveled up a sin as a tank and an OP as a healer at the same time. Since then i have leveled up a marauder. sniper, sorc (x2), another OP, and a PT... and i have to say the sin tanking was by far the slowest leveling i have done in this game, there is also the part that even when i did FPs i tanked them alright, but was never as efficient as the other two tanks til about the 40's. At 50 for FPs and raids shadow/sin tanks are amazing, but before that they are sorta heh.
  6. I have played around at level 50 on some alts w/o getting the skill advances at 50 (just brain farted and forget them), and noticed that once i did get them i seen a dps boost of about 5 to 15% really dependent on the class and how reliant they were on talented skills, or the ones you bought.
  7. Yea 10 mil is rather low in this game imo.... hell even 20 mil... i would of asked for 50 to 75 mil at least.
  8. You have to take into account that the adds under the shield are weaker then ****, on my marauder i usually stand under the shield for about 8 seconds doing nothing for we dont blow up the bomber on us.
  9. We usually try to keep 2 dps on each of the tanks, but our strongest dps is usually on storm caller (which usually are melee dps), then we have 2 range on firebrand. At the start of the fight we will have one range dps stormcaller a bit, how long sorta depends who we have on stormcaller that night. For rest of the phases, the dps stick their respective tanks unless it is obvious that stormcaller isnt being burned fast enough. After the last shield, and the melee dps get DD, they jump over to firebrand, while one of the range dps go to stormcaller and eat the 2nd DD with the healer.... Firebrand is usually a bit higher then stormcaller but usually balances out when there are 3 dps on it at the end. For actual numbers when i am on my marauder i am averaging over 2k on the tank, and when there is another marauder on there we dont need any assistance from a 3rd dps at all... we actually push to the shield phase shortly after the first DD... so i would have to speculate that you only need about 3.2-3.5k dps on stormcaller to prevent the second DD. Overall the dps checks are not to tight once you get use to the fight and develop a good strategy. As a side note i been told (havent tested it myself), that a dps that has cast times (Merc, lightening Sorc) may experience a dps drop by eating the DD due to the push back from the damage ticks.
  10. I just want to add when it comes to PvE, hate generation is usually what is most important, not survivability (well as long as you break a certain threshold).
  11. Maybe they should reduce the amount of people allowed in a single instance of the fleet to maybe 100... but please dont take away my *********** mounts.
  12. I would like to add i have played some low budget indie MMOs that had quite a few things you listed, they ended up going bankrupt and no longer around but they were fun in their own niche way. I have to say if it wasnt for the SW IP, this game would of tanked at launch... think if this game was based around mass effect or dragon ages... would you be here?
  13. I am not to sure what they will do, but if they do add it, they need to take a long, good look at player housing in EQ2 and try to copy as much of that as possible. Not so much the style, but the ability to create and design truly unique rooms/houses. For those that are not familiar with housing in EQ2 check it out.
  14. I have healed a little bit on my GF's sorc, and have found that in a raid my resource management was sorta dependent on co-healer ability to toss me an heal or not. I know when i am healing on my OP, it is very easy to toss a heal or two to a sorc who is canablizing... i usually question what they are doing when i dont need to heal them to be honest.
  15. A few people will probably disagree with me, but i say the best measurement of a healer's overall ability is to check their DPS, not their HPS. Healing is extremely easy in this game, i could teach a two year old how to heal in this game. Learning when and how to DPS during a fight though takes a larger amount of skill, and concentration. Some people will argue that there is no point in a healer dpsing, if and when enrage timers are being beat, and i would have to concur. I would have to argue there is no point in over healing someone either. So you're left with one of three options; twiddle your thumbs, over heal, or dps. The ability to dps somewhat comes down to the overall effeciency of your raid though; if you're expected to heal stupid (which you can do quite a bit of in PvE), you will not have as many chances to dps as you would in a raid where 99% of the avoidable damage is being avoided. So my advice is, when and only after you're comfortable with a fight start trying to weave in some attacks, even if it is even just auto attacking a mob, it is more efficient then over healing or doing nothing.
  16. I have raided in eq2, wow and a few other games... and have gone experience the same dry spells in end game content there as i have here. The big difference here though is that more people are clearing the content then what people were in other games, and these people that are new to success are getting bored rather quick. Old veterans, will just roll a 6th or 9th alt... or play another game (PS2) a little bit while waiting for the new content, while continuing to farm what raid content there is to avoid getting rusty. As a raid/guild leader, your best bet is to explain the importance of farming a raid on a weekly basis (experience, discipline, and keeping the gears well oiled), while trying to minimize and shorten the amount of time people have to spend doing it. If people cant mange to log on for a few hours a week to continue to raid while waiting for the next raid/expansion, then most likely are flakes when it comes to raiding.
  17. I can see that, the 10% damage increase after force leap, and the fact that you're force leaping rather often, would equal a good dps boost. Overall though it is sorta cheap and should be something that BW "fixes" people from doing, but we all know they are to lazy/incompetent to do so. @KB, even if you part of your ravage isnt effected by gore, you should still get a 5k force scream, and most likely get at least the 3rd and hardest hitting part of ravage under the effects of gore. Most of the time though w/o lag you will get the effect of gore before your atrau proc from the mass that hit before gore. Honestly though you can miss a ravage not being effected by gore, or a force scream (common one to be missed when you have lag), and you should only see a lost between 25-100k, that is because the majority of your damage actually comes from massacre and ataru proc.
  18. There is another thread stating this already, and anyhow there isnt much of a reason to run the bleed spec anymore, as carnage out performs it in raids 90% of the time. On a dummy annihilation will beat carnage, but get a second of lag, mess up your rotation by a slight bit, watch yourself loose 200-300 dps.
  19. I have had a guildie in my original raiding guild that played with a controller, overall he was fine doing things in ev/kp...was a bit messy, slow, and lacked any sort of hate generation (was a jugg tank). When EC came out, his inability to react in a quick manner caused multiple nights of failures, and overall have left a very bad taste in my mouth when ever i hear someone mentioning they're playing with a controller. There is the strong possibility that the guy sucked in general, and there was nothing wrong with using the controller, but for some reason it seemed like the controller added to the overall suckiness of his playing. So overall if it works for you, and such so be it...but be aware that many people will frown upon it to some degree.
  20. I rather do NiM EC then TFB any day of the week, mainly because EC is quicker, and that it actually requires more then 50% of my attention, well at least on the tanks and kephess... Z&T and the minefield are still a joke.
  21. That has to be a bit of a exaggeration, if i remember off the top of my head, fearful only lasts 45 seconds, i doubt it is possible to reach the dps numbers that would be needed, unless you had an odd number of dps on a single mob.
  22. If you run with 2 shadows, neither of the two tanks should be stunned. You should use your CC breaker on the first one, and time force shroud to prevent the second stun. Tanking with fearful shouldnt be to hard on your healers, unless people are positioning themselves to be in range of the avoidable aoes. If and when a healer is having hard times healing this fight, it is usually the case of bad positioning, or poor/slow tank swaps... if things are done right, this is one of the easiest fights to heal in the game.
  23. I am not certain but i am quite sure you could come close to killing it with 8 people that have NiM EC on farm. I have done it with 12 i think before TFB came out, so overall the dps check is rather low in that fight, and there are multiple ways of doing it with only 2 tanks.
  24. Smash for a rage spec Jugg/marauder is a major part of their rotation. Orbital strike for all snipers, is a major filler for their rotation (especially if they have pvp 2 set bonus). Flamethrower for a assault specialist spec powertech, is a major part of their rotation. Deathfield for a madness assassin is a major part of their rotation. So the bug has been effecting quite a few specs/classes for some time, and most people have found work arounds or just realize that the dps check in the fight is so low it doesnt matter if they do 60 to 70% of what they should do on the cores.
  25. When we were progressing we had things like that happen a few times, usually a person pulling then popping out of combat would resolve it.
