  1. 1. I'm only lvl 40. I am using the lvl 40 PvP gear, not Champ or BM. 2. I have not tried switching mods from DPS gear into Tank gear, as the above poster suggested. That said, I am currently very hopeful about my performance using a DPS-geared Immortal spec in PvP. I bought all of the DPS gear and chose to prefer crit rating / power over defense rating. The Immortal tree provides you with a number of useful stuns and heavy-handed instant attacks, which in combination with my durability and reasonable damage output lands me in a very balanced position in PvP. I usually earn 7-10 commendations, if I remember to switch my Guard appropriately. 100-150k dmg and 30-50k protection, depending on the warzone. Usually somewhere around 30-35 kills. These numbers are anecdotal, but overall I feel strong in the sub-50 bracket. I'm tough enough that no class can knock me down before I get the chance to react - Ops included - do enough damage that even Powertechs, Sages and Commandos have to think twice before they just run around lol'ing at me, and have a slew of nifty tricks to screw them over even if they do. So far, I'm happy. Next stop: lvl 50 / champ gear and seeing how the Immortal DPS spec holds up then..
  2. This reads like a troll making fun another, more legitimate thread focused on basically the same topic. http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=208529&highlight=disruption DPS / PvP immortal build including some very informative research, playstyle pointers and gear suggestions. I'm a Immortal spec Jugg, been stacking Crit PvP gear as the guide suggests and so far am very pleased with my performance. I feel like I have a unique position based on the build and class itself - good survivability, good control, and decent damage.
  3. I've never seen that before. What I have seen, almost every single game of Voidstar I play, is the screen blocking people from getting out and the entire enemy team walking up to the doors unopposed. It sucks.
  4. Agreed. The levelling process in this game has been a blast, and I've barely noticed the fact that I'm not "max level and doing the good stuff." The good stuff is right here. It's my storyline, my decisions, my companions, and grouping with people to do all of those things together. It's a bit like sitting down to a table top game. Very immersive. I hope the end game content is just as satisfying.
  5. Voidstar is my least favorite Warzone because it's the only one where I & most of my team can become reliably stuck behind the door while attackers are rushing and planting bombs. This especially sucks at the beginning of the round, giving the attacking team free door 1. But it can also happen on the journey to the next room - when you die, a defender is placed behind the spawn screen for the next door. . . which may be there long enough to allow the attackers to reach the door completely unopposed. I've lost several games of Voidstar simply because the spawn screen prevented my team from even being at the doors to defend when the attackers got there. Feelsbad, man.
  6. I honestly don't care about the speeder. If you are worried about it, take your Warzone pop before it melts down to 5 seconds left and it shouldn't be a problem. The bigger problem currently afflicting this Warzone is that sometimes the defender-side spawn screen screws up. I've been standing there with my entire team, stuck behind an impassable wall, watching the enemy team walk up unopposed and place bombs. Other times it cuts off half the players, and sometimes it even works correctly. Either way this is a deal breaker for the Warzone and deserves a hotfix.
  7. I used Fraps to capture evidence of multiple AFK-grinders in Warzones. I submitted a ticket. I submitted an e-mail to SWTORsupport's address which included screenshots and a link to the video file. "Thank you for bringing this to our attention. Unfortunately it is against policy for us to discuss action against other players, so this is the only information you will receive. Enjoy Star Wars."
  8. I used this system in CoH and honestly I think it is both functional and fitting for a game like SW:TOR. Every high level Jedi / Sith can have an apprentice, and every expert Bounty Hunter or high-ranking Commando is going to have officers and hirelings to boss around. This is already fulfilled by companions to a point but adding a feature like this would not only make for interesting relationships between high and low level players, but help spread the population out for group-questing and make it easier to obtain social points in the best way possible: by helping people. /signed
  9. Random drop is random. Gear loot is like this. I ran for months and months to get my Lightforge set when I first started playing Paladin - and I quit for the same reason. I never won a single piece of gear no matter how many times I saw it drop. Another paladin was always there to need, and I ALWAYS lost. Short of handing you guaranteed 100% gear, which decreases the shelf life of their treadmill, there is nothing to be done for this. You got shafted by math. And for the record, I unsubbed from WoW when that happened and didn't play again for almost 2 years.
  10. No, no, a thousand times no. It takes 2 hours for you to get to the point where you choose what AC you want. After that you are playing a different class for the remainder of the game. This is like asking Blizzard to let Warriors respec as Warlocks. NO. Bad OP! Bad!
  11. Bioware - I have said to several people already that group questing in this game reminds me of playing a table top RPG like Dungenos & Dragons. This is a complement to your game design, the quality of your voice actors and the overall script. In a brief fit of inspiration thinking about good times had in MMOs past, I asked myeslf - why can't we have Game Masters? Dungeon Masters? One concept you may not be aware of is Live Events. The recent evolution of MMORPGs has forgotten some of the most interesting and exciting things about the original genre, and this was one of them. I remember days spent playing Ultima Online, for example, where a Game Master would actively solicit players to participate in an official "game session". This could be as simple as hide & seek, like go find the GM and get a reward. Sometimes it was a 1v1 tournament, sometimes a costume contest. Sometimes it was even in-character narrated quests, such as the GM saying "a new villain is planning to attack Minoc, consult with the mayor to find out what he knows.." and when you get to the Minoc Town Hall, the GM is there as "The Mayor" and engages the players in a dialogue that then leads them into the rest of the quest. There is no reason the current system cannot support a feature like this except that you would need paid Game Masters on staff for every server to dynamically generate such storylines and engage players. Having features and support so that every Game Master could entertain alot of players would be necessary to make this efficient. Though designing this feature would be complex, challenging, and incur some additional expense, the potential benefit is sizable. 1) Imagine "winning the game". You hit level cap. You've done every FP, Op, and Warzone. You have all the gear you feel like getting. Usually, you'd just run around getting into various shenannigans until the next content patch, or quit playing, or whatever your thing is. Now imagine every Friday is "Game Master night", where the server is invited to participate in a GM run Live Worldboss encounter. Not so bored now, eh? 2) Such a feature could encourage ongoing storylines, player cooperation and turn community focus towards any section of the game. Maybe instead of a world-boss the event will focus on a crafting competition, or a speeder race, or a costume contest... the options are many. 3) This feature would be unique and inspiring among current MMOs, would likely draw in new players and more importantly falls right in line with Bioware's emphasis on story driven content.
  12. IMO add Wookies to Republic side to help balance server population.
  13. The only problem with this idea is content generation. Receiving a new quest, flashpoint, or group quest once a week or once every two weeks is unlikely. New areas have to be made, new dialogue written / recorded, spawns and mobs setup, etc. etc.. In this game, especially, the recorded voice acting means you are unlikely to ever receive a feature like that. It's one of the few, unfortunate trade-offs for having a completely voiced game. However, with the development team retained and the rate at which they are making and planning content patches, I'm not worried about it. One alternative you may not be aware of is Live Events. 14. Yep. This is a simple feature that serves to help facilitate community and purpose on a server. Why we don't already have them is the real question.
  15. Vicious Slash is practically useless in PvP, but better than autoattacking with a full rage bar. Savage Kick and Pommel Strike cannot be used in PvP at all, because the abilities qualify that they may only be used against Weak to Strong enemies (NPCs). Pretty much everything else I have so far, I use. I am a level 36 (currently Immortal) Juggernaut. Backhand, Saber Throw, Smash, Sundering Strike, Sweeping Slash, even Ravage, etc. etc. . . . all gets used. I played a Warrior for a long time in WoW and I will tell you that the SW class is not as dependent on 'building rage'. The mechanic is the same but the value is different because fewer of your abilities cost rage to activate. Many of our best abilities are free to use or even generate rage for you, such as Saber Throw or Force Choke. When I've got a full rage bar there are 3 abilities I think about in order to spend it: Smash, Force Scream, Sweeping Slash Repeat Sweeping Slash until I'm not full of rage, and save some for the next Smash.
  16. Certain equipment has the appearance of being cybernetic. Helmets or earpieces. However, most of what you are seeing is probably because they created a Cyborg - this is a race selection for Sith Warriors / others upon character creation. The Cybernetics are one of many aesthetic options, alongside hair color, scars, etc.
  17. Rumor has it that you can increase your champ gear drop chances. 1. Join an ops group 2. be on your ship 3. be dancing 4. profit
  18. Holy crap, that would be cool. I dislike the idea of full flying mounts because it diminishes quests and zones into a "fly from quest giver to point a, b, c" without need to explore, find paths and fight things in between. But drop pods.. definitely a neat idea.
  19. Okay. I lost track of the southern balloon. However, there is a single balloon to the north, near Anchorhead, on a small linear route. It oscillates back and forth next to a ridgeline with sand people and a Jedi Knight phase around 311, -1994 Jundland. At no point that I can see does it draw near enough to anything for me to hop onto it without some kind of assist - and more importantly, I don't see any glowy datacrons around here that are otherwise unreachable.
  20. I see it, too. Where the heck does it go? Following it now to see where it lands.. Edit: Either this balloon is REALLY fast, or there is one further north, near Anchorhead. Possible that neither of these ever touchdown / come close enough to get on.. still following
