so you all kept logs of your daily temps? please post.... it is possible your graphics settings might have changed no? it was a add on patch last night go check your in game settings, it is entirely possible that performance increases will make your stuff work harder, but it is alos on fleet i read, hmmm new patch new crystal vendor on fleet, other things at fleet lots of players maybe took a break came back to see what 1.1.5 brought to the table, turn off nameplates while on fleet, but im thinking its just more stuff than regular your machine is working a bit harder. and i do love the trend of blaming a game for cheap hardware failures. not just this game every game forums has those 4 or 5 people who try to blame the game company for some mystery crash and burn. dont see much difference here. can o air works wonders, de frag your machine once a week works to the hard drive dosent have to work as hard going back and forth for data chunks. mmorpg games like this one tend to be hogs, and also are hard drive killers as there are so many little bits that get tossed here and there onto your hard drive. regular software maintenance practices go a long ways to prolonging the life of your hardware, 6 1/2 years i have had this machine, 2.2.ghz dual core, gtx 220 nvidia 3 gbs unmatched ram 250 gb HD a bunch of led fans and black light bars, 2 dvd drives one olayer only and a burner 21 slot card reader, etc, i have never had heat or many of the other issues a lot of people with newer and bigger rigs have stated they have. same with my cars, they last forever with proper care, we currently drvie two vehicles, a 1996 ford explorer, 205k miles on the same transmission and engine, starter is not OG, alternator is not stock, had to replace the top end gaskets once 50k miles or so ago. trans axle went out around 175k which was my fault all wheel drive and i went mudding a bit....spun the front tires over revved and stripped some gear teeth. other wise pretty much tune ups oil change every 10k miles, oh fuel pump 205k miles and it runs liek a champ, i have a xbox and 2 nintendos, a super nintendo a dreamcast AND game cube 2 wiis a dsi a ds lite and a older ds collects dust. all these things work perfectly fine. power tools, lawn mower from 10 years back, my coffee maker from 10 years ago ins now in the workshop, still brews great cuppa joe. we have vcrs in the closet ffs still work fine. now either i am the most lucky guy ever when it comes to cars, and electronics, as we have two off the shelf e machines and a old toshiba satellite, all in perfect working condition, either i have the best luck or i just take really good care of expensive things. take care of your crap and it will take care of you. thank you for listening folks ill be here all week, try the lasagne its to die for. edit: the other car is brand spanking new, ford flex and its a beaut, we dont drive it too much though, to the movies and mall etc school for the kids, but groceries and crap errands, get to da 'splodah! lol inside family joke, ford explorers were maligned to explode in a crash, common urban legend from the pinto days. and of course the "git to dah choppah" meme. kids will yell it piling out the house to the rig lol i tell ya its a sit com in my house.

yup ^^^^^ and dont take those numbers to serious they will fluctuate all over the place. look at the sky and it goes up look at a bldg with flashing lights it goes down. run forward it drops stop it goes up. unless you totally understand whats happening and why, ...let me just say, i run a sub par machine, 2.2 ghz dual core, 3 gb unmatched ram, 250 gb hard drive. nvidia gtx 220, and i avg 30 fps for the most part. if you are interested in actually seeing what your machine is capable of try this site. http://www.yougamers.com/gameometer/10468/ this site is made by the crew that makes all the benchmark programs all the game magazines and reviewers use to test new and upcoming hardware. you can thru the link i posted also download free demos and apps that will benchmark your system and tell you where your are bottlenecking. i have a cpu bottleneck, and i could use a newer vid card with a newer architecture. hope that helps some folks get a grip on how the machines run games. and dont worry about that fps thing unless you are getting super low ,like under10, numbers all the time. i see people post vauge posts about super uber 3000 dollar rigs, how a 15 year old affords these uber rigs( i say this because its like every kid who spams the forums with fps sux posts seems to have the same copy pasta system specs as i read on amazon after you filter by price....0_o) and they poat about 1 fps, and 3 minute stutters in pvp.... makes me wonder what hardware gave out in those machines as my sub par machine runs this game fine, some stutters and when theres a ton of blasters and force users i get a drop and slow down a bit but its not unplayable by far. i even run bf3 at low settings, and i get a bit of drag when im in huge battles and bldgs are toppling and stuffs exploding all over, but again not unplayable, so i dont see how these uber machines are failing when my less than expensive custom built 6 years ago runs most games fine. all i can say is they are running at full high graphics and their systems are not uber and thats why they complain, they dont know how to configure that uber expensive 3000usd rig. otherwise you have to consider that a large portion of the fps complaints are false. thats how i see things, though ive been known to be wrong in the past and im pretty sure ill be wrong in the future but as for my above rant...? yeah i got no logical answer when i compare machines with mine.....

look at the credit farmer supporters in this thread.... go check bioware see if these credit farmer friends in this thread have toon stationed on high level planets next to loot chests. a good solution is too not allow them to spawn in those areas period, would mean EVERYONE could not spawn into those areas. respawn after a death of course, but log in and spawn next to a chest can be prevented. and its not just a couple of people its 20 toons opening 20 chests on 20 planets every minute savvy? one guy sits there with 3 computers and three or more game instances running, wakes up turns on game (rofl or takes over for some other dipstick) spawns next to chest grabs loot logs off, logs on to next toon at next chest and rinse and repeat, times that action by how many servers there are......now times that by how many credit farmers you think there are......use the number of in game emails you have received about credits for usd. and there you go a much larger picture of the issue at hand. its up to bioware to keep a boot on the neck of these types. they have the tools, all we can do is report suspected farmers and kill their toons if you can before they log off to log on the next toon. its quite the large business in china, the farming stealing accounts using stolen cc numbers to buy more copies of the game and etc and on and on and over and over x 1 million heres to hoping they mass ban them and you really cant ip ban them and the china isp wont co operate with the people not in china so thats a wash, they use VPN or other ip masking services to get in game, no ips to ban. only thing that keeps them at bay is a on top of the situation staff, that wields a hefty ban hammer, and a csr staff that gets handed all of the " i was banzored for credit farming wahhhh" tickets otherwise its just a matter of time before people get tired of watching darth xiang'chin and his guild of alts getting rich. and they go play something else until the illegal credit farmers move to that next game too. sad vicious cycle of putrid vile behaviors, hope bioware stays on top of it.

lol yup. i find that the amount of looks is pretty good considering other crafting systems ive enjoyed in other games. i am always changing my look, im one of those "suit....er whats a non filtered word.....suit collectors, yeah thats a good word. i have a cargo bay almost full of gear i like the look of and sets i enjoy mixing and matching this is a doll dress up game after all right? <<<<< jest i jest. ive played mmorpgs that have cosmetic skins for sale for real money via "item shops" sometimes they came with pretty good stats or buffs. but the problem always was variations i could only stand so many matrix out fits in the one game, was called voyage century, centered around the 16 to late 17 hundreds and they put Neo and whats his girlfriends name ... oh gawd i cant think h/o..... TRINITY whew i almost went to imdb neo and trinity skins in a sailing pirate fantasy mythological setting...SIGH also to craft high level armor sets and weapons in that game took weeks and sometimes months of multi alt grinding for the mats and special items and even then you would need to BUY items to complete the craft and then you MIGHT STILL FAIL! thats right after 2 months of 10 toons slaving away cutting trees fishing and mining AND cash layout you might fail the craft....... so please saying the crafting system in this game needs a total reworking is silly. in this game you not only get a success each craft you get a chance at great or super craft...then you can reverse it and have a chance for a whole crap ton of paths and schematics........ tailor your crafting for any class or spec... i think people miss the big picture looking at the tiny world in front of them..... you honestly think they will not add tons upon tons of stuff for us to craft? i know for a fact they have a crap load of stuff they want to put into the game at launch but didnt for one reason or another. but final thought.... theres a lot of variety available, player personal preferences aside, (i mean if you want to look a certain way all the time....) i really do think they reused too many skins, hutt world clothes and alderaan clothes do look different but the dropped stuff just has different colors, thats sill a balmorean imperial suit should look like a dromund kaas imperial suit with subtle diffs. but a tat pair of boots that drops from a sand person shouldnt look like a pair of boots that drops from a exchange thug on nar shaddaa, planet specific designs and imperial or republic military designs should have vastly different skins. watch the phantom menace, do the corusant people wear the same stuff as they do on tat? or naboo? NO ok ok watch starwars...the cantina or the remastered mos esly scenes do they wear the same stuff as the imps do on the death star? no but they do in this game..... thats my biggest gripe, not enough planetary or native garb, surely on hoth i dont need to buy a same look and same style light robe as i can on taris i should have only cold weather looking gear,,, same for other worlds if anything they need to dedicate a team to just make skins and palettes and to keep it going for ever. am i asking for too much ? prolly its what I would LIKE to see. i know the imperials and republic panets would do business with the same galatic suppliers but the PLANETARY NATIVE specific garb is what i would ask for. even if its strictly white, and useless in pvp or pve, just available for purchase or craft. so adding planet specific schmatics would be neat wouldnt it? i would also like to eventually see more modern sets. stormtrooper skin anyone? rebel pilot skins? hoth skins? bespin skins..... just saying thats what i personally would love to see. but bioware had me at starwars rpg.

i apologize in advance for this.... i sold one of those schematics to the npc after if fell off the igtn 3 days in a row.... i know i most likely am not on your server but im a BH and i see a lot of the same republic schematics from missions also i have seen many many many ship mod schematics of level 2 many many many of those. maybe this schematic wont "drop" for repugs.....errr i mean rebs...er republic faction players..... i know i really really really get annoyed when i get those silly looking repu...blic schematics i can surly read and craft BUT NOONE on my fleet would ever purchase.......unless "they" ("they" always refers to the game company in this case bioware) knew we as players would need or want some certain unattainable items and would roll opp faction toons to acquire.... i dont know but sounds logical to me.... i can probably find this out by searching but not going to time out for this post doing so ill ask, do the republic and imperial players share the IGTN, IE: if a republic player posts a schem on the republic fleet IGTN terminal? do i on the imperial fleet also get to see that item on my fleet IGTN terminal? ive always wondered, i know theres the local nar shaddaa terminals the hutt network, i would really like to see GALACTIC terminals and LOCAL terminals on all of the planets, it would spread the server load out among the stars and you would have more people going to more planets for things other than daily missions, would make it a lot more populous feeling and we would have to time manage a bit more and give us a lot of places to search for things, would also lead to interesting transactions and cross galaxy messaging as people go place to place searching for that one item .... just saying are the republic and imperial IGTN items one and the same for both factions or totally separate? if separate im rolling republic toon tonight and getting a peek...

you wont be seeing mounts that touch the ground in this game ever. it is not a lore issue or a preference issue or a stand out from ALL THE REST of the mmo rabble with ground contact mounts. it is engine and path related, not saying it CANT be done im telling you all it wont be done, the way they designed the speeder system and how they designed the hoverbikes negates ground contact mounts. i too was kinda bummed when i heard NO ground contact mounts in swtor ever. i too wish i could ride a dew back or bantha. even a taun taun would be cool. so i too wish upon a star, but realize it wont happen anytime soon. no ground contact mounts is pretty much the devs answer to this.

not worth it to upgrade cpu or vid card. a good vid card for your $$ would not be powered enough by your power supply, then you have a compag....... not really a upgradable to gaming rig, sure u CAN but, you will run into other bottlenecks with that system. your CPU is your bottleneck from what i can see, so you go find out how many pins, and which is the best fit for you and your wallet and then you put it in and do all the stuff to install and find out that the inexpensive chip is still a bottleneck. thats the issue with old off the shelf machines u pretty much need to upgrade the MB and the proc and then the power supply and then you will want more ram and then u want bigger HD to hold more........ save your 170 add to it and get yourself a newer machine you can really swap parts out of, if you want to add a gpu look at amazon they have some amazing cards for less than 80 bucks, then you can maybe find a good proc that fits your board for 12 or so, but personally i would just save up beg from relatives, mow lawns etc sell plasma, save your money and get a complete machine that really works well for a lot of games.
