  1. My SI had the unfortunate backstory of being a slave and so the first couple of levels you get belittled by your teacher by putting the emphisis on "slave" whenver he mentions you. At first I played my character kind, however now that she had the powers of the dark side (remember, they channel it through their rage) then she grew more angry with him, standing up to him, but that's just how I was roleplaying the character and I agree with what other posters have said. If you go darkside on republic side you go around insulting and making people suffer as well as causing things that'll cause suffering of others. It depends how you want to play your sith. i've been enjoying my Female Twi-lek SI as I get to shoot lightning out of my hands and cause people who stand in the way of my greatness to suffer a long and agonising death. Not to mention ever time I DPS with me lightning where I hold the lightning on the enemy I hear the words "And now young skywalker...you will die." cause you feel pretty bad-*** killing things with sith lightning. Plus it can be used out of combat and in conversations or sequences like Black Talon when you try to go through a door that the Jedi blocks.
  2. They've probably seen it already. Those devs are everywhere *shift eyes*
  3. I think that was something that was always around, however it never actually told you to complete missions. Basically you need to finish a mission from your personal quest before new ones unlock. It's been around since first level. if they have implimented this then it's helpful, but at the same time i can see it being a pain too.
  4. Actually I've been stating that this game is far better than WoW. I have to admit I have played a MMO that wasn't based on the same template as WoW...I think. CoH/V was pretty damn awesome, though unfortunatly I lost interest in that MMO and have no idea what they're doing now. Swtor is brand new and as we've seen from the trailer they've shown us that they have many, many big ideas coming down the pipe towards us. I love the implimentation of titles in the game which reminds me of CoH/V (actually i recognised the name RockJaw as a dev from that game) but at the same time it's done in a unique way. The crafting here is better as the lowest quality items you make are green unlike WoW and I love the ability to send your companions away on missions or crafting whilst you are either in a big group of PVP. It's beaten WoW in every possible way in my opinion besides the level cap, but I'm in no hurry for that as I just enjoy walking around and exploring new worlds, gripping stories, reading the codex and so on.
  5. Edit: not going to feed trolls I just hope this isn't too hard to impliment as many people have been saying they probably have spare dialog hanging around all over the place and just havn't yet programmed in the same-sex relationship yet. Will have to wait for more info and a timeframe.
  6. I agree. Whenever I have asked for help when I was getting started there was always someone helpful who would help me with what I wanted such as locating the intergalactic market on corocent or even suggestions for classes when you get to level 10. Very helpful community and love every moment of it.
  7. My experience is that it depends on the time of day. Sometimes pvp areas are imperial heavy, sometimes republic heavy. The amount of times I've been up late at night and entered combat with loads of republic, but no imperial could number up. It hasn't ruined the game for me, certainly not.
  8. Same as Derfmiolleh said, no need to repeat what's already been said Also the whole companion and relationship system, as well as space missions make this game quite unique in it's own right. there is an air of wow about, but it's improved on so many levels that wow sucked that tis game surpasses it in everyway. Plus, it's the only MMO i've played where I actually enjoyed PVP and where I get rewarded for my wasted time rarther than have my *** beaten and get nothing out of it.
  9. Yeah I believe that too. Much easier work and just need to rework the dialog for the other sex so it should be fairly simple compared to only when bringing out new companions which will take a depressingly long period of time. The second part (start of rant) I'd say thanks to them that's the reason why Bioware have been seemingly covereing up the characters in DA and ME more and more to stop anymore unwanted attention, but it alienates people like me who bought a 18 rated game and expect to see 18 rated stuff and not be treated like some 16 year old of a strict religious family by being denied viewing of any and all nudity. Not saying it should be full frontal or anything, but covering it up and blocking a majority of it out like that is basically letting them win and holding bioware back from streaching out the gaming industry, which unfortunatly Witcher 2 beat them too with as graphic as those scenes are, then again I've heard no complaints over it. Probably cause most people don't care after they realised how stupid that woman on fox news was. /rant Sorry about that, just got to get some things off my chest, but yes I personally beleive 2a would lead to far less work for the devs as I'm sure they'd perfer to get that implimented and launched right away rarther than keep people complaining about it for the next several months when they could be focusing their energies on the next major updates and sorting out current game bugs/issues.
  10. I agree, the legacy system looks pretty bad-assed. I love it.
  11. makes me think of a early Jedi mission. I havn't really read the books so I might be wrong, but I believe Obi Wan stated that the force is all around and I thing I heard somewhere that the force is what created life so perhaps there are avenues for any creatures to have the ability to use the force?
  12. ahh yes 16, sorry I was thinking of 1 for each class for some reason If it's true they had them workable, then perhaps it won't take as long as I fear as hthey said they origonally were going to impliment it. Could mean they have some of the voices for some of the pre-existing characters, but one or two of the voice actors were pulled away for family reasons or a spot in a tv show or even movie. That's my hope anyway and the reason I've made a jedi knight to mess around on in the time being. I agree we need some kind of rough ETA or more info as the current quote given to us is a little unclear if they mean to add new companions that are bi or if old ones will become bi when new companions appear. I'm also interested in what this new planet might be someone above mentioned.
  13. The idea of new companions seems like a very hard and that's just from a writer's perspectives as you'd have to make 8 new characters, all with interesting and different pasts, personalities, dialog and of course relatable missions and scenes when you meet the person for a chat on the ship or something. The extra characters sounds like something that will take quite some time before it's even implimented.
  14. It seems kinda murky, even the thread that kinda went violitile that was closed they just repeated the statement which seems vauge if they mean that they're making new companions that are same sex or turning some bi. I totally agree about Kaliyo. Like on one mission she went "Aww, he's cute, don't you think?" and when I said "he's not my type" i gained affection with her 0_o so it seems suggestive but that's all it seems to be for the moment, just suggestive. Edit: for option I pick/hope for 2a. As I stated above, Kaliyo does seem to lean both ways and from the glint into her gritty past I can imagine if she had past relationships on both sides of the playing field, so to speak.
  15. I totally agree, it should push the boundries just as comics, music, television and even books have done. The way i see it is not only is the companion system in this game quite unique as is gaining relationship and a romance plot too so by adding this they really would be pushing the boundries that'll really outshine wow and every other MMO on the market, which this game needs being somewhat pricy compared to others out there.
  16. I quite like the third option. Love the story idea, though however I have no idea what the companion stories are like so there probably is one well written like that.
  17. I noticed that huge unbalance when looking at the wiki. I think the best explaination of where you ask how they ould muck up so badly is to look at DA2. That thing was rushed like no-one's business and it even feels it. As many people say they should just flip the bi-switch. i feel relaly sorry for the male counsulor who gets the one single woman whilst the female gets three guys.
  18. I think just a word from the devs saying that they are actually working on it would be enough but a rough date would be a great help.
  19. I see you're logic, however they have already added a patch for a new flashpoint and operation not that long ago. Feels like they're dragging their heels on this, but I could be wrong. Like everyone I think all that needs to be changed is the flirt option and ect which should only take a few days as one guy stated above where players modded DAO for Alister and Morrigan to switch over and since it fades to black in this game as I've heard then there are no animations to alter either in my mind.
  20. That's the reason I have made a male jedi knight and might conssider making a male jedi counceller is the whole idea of seeing what companions I get from looking at various wiki sources online. should be easy, just have the character have the flirt option, use the existing dialog and then make it lead to the dialog given from a relationship. Shouldn't be that hard, unless they want to write some new dialog so that it isn't a simple copy/past job.
  21. Aliens! For years people have claimed that their eggs and sperm have been stolen so that must be it! joking aside, it is interesting that no one seems to know where humans seem to come from. Maybe they really were abducted from our earth?
  22. I totally agree. It's like if you played Me 3 as a male and get to romance various people, but then when you go female you are barely able to romance anyone at all. that's the reason I'm not playing my bountyhunter of imperial agent anymore is because I can't have fun, if I'm not going to be able to persue the relationship. I totally agree what one guy said where it seems hinted at that certain characters might be bi like Kailyo who said about finding this one guy handsom and when I said "He's not my type" her affection increased which seemed suggestive
  23. Don't you realise that the british government is evil? After all we're even building a giant deathstar right now to destroy our enemies! The sooner the americans take control of england, the better. joking, joking. Really I wouldn't know why, i mean for instance they did the same with FFXII where the "evil" empire were all british with thick british accents. Though there it seems more of a slap in the face as all the guards had a very thick british accent and not a more subtle one. What me and my friend discovered was that the imperial engineers all appears to be scottish which lead to me saying in chat "I can't do it cap'n. i don't have the power!" so I'm not certain if it's more star trek sneaking into star wars of if that was made completely by accident and is a weird co-incidence. the voices could stem from the many british actors that played as generals in the origonal star wars trilogy and now that's become part of their identity.
  24. Perhaps it's more of a "You have to be mature enough" kind of rule. For example, they want to make sure that the padawans have full control of their emotions and don't just leap out in rage or jelousy if something were to happen. Afterall, if you had broken up with your girlfriend and you see her with another man and you have the power to hurl giant objects at people, how under-control would you be? Especially if you were a padawan who was just discovering this power you have. I'm not above saying that I'd probably flatten the pair of them with a boulder, but I think you see the point I'm trying to make. They want them to master their emotions first so that they can be perpared for what-ever life throws at them and they don't just go insane with power and go on a killing spree if something were to happen like the death of a loved-one or child. That's my 2 cents anyway.
  25. Totally agreed, it's just a option like either going down one road or the other. just because you have the option to go in the wrong direction, doesn't mean you should be angry at that road because it's open to you.
