  1. I've made most of my credits selling level 30ish blue armor on the GTN for 15-20,000 credits a piece. I usually sell 1-2 per day, which keeps me in sufficient credits for what I need. There are probably other crafted items that you could make. Focus on the lower level characters who are likely being financed by higher-level characters. Lots of people like to spend money to gear their low level alts, and are willing to pay for quality -- it makes the levelling process a lot easier and faster when you have good gear.
  2. It depends whether you chose Commando or Vanguard. Usually sticking to one tree will give you access to better talents in the higher part of that tree. You can reset your skills to try a different combinations (although it gets expensive if you do it more than a couple of times per week).
  3. If you can buy BM, do so. Buy Recruit pieces to fill in spots for which you don't yet have BM.
  4. That would make sense if most people are now wearing a lot more +expertise than they were before the new gear arrived.
  5. It means you fight like a girl (I assume it is supposed to represent ovaries).
  6. Did something change in today's patch? Yesterday, my Vanguard was getting ripped apart (mostly Centurion/Recruit armor). Today, I'm back to what it was like before yesterday's patch, able to stand up to most enemies (but eventually dying to the tougher guys if noone else comes to help). I'm ok with how it is now.
  7. I feel a *lot* less squishy today than I did yesterday. In fact, I can once again stand up to most individual opponents, although my lesser gear means that I can't kill the harder guys solo. I suspect that something was "off" yesterday. You should go out and have another go today before making any serious adjustments to your character. Rather than die instantly to lightsabers, now I can stand at the terminal in the new WZ and ignore the guy slicing me while I move the bar. At least for a little while.
  8. I wouldn't mind being able to summon a companion in warzones when your side has less players than the other. They could desummon when a new player joins.
  9. I have only been 50 since Saturday, so my gear is still pretty minimal, but I am a lot squishier now than before the patch. I am specced half tactics and shield (up to Gut and Storm) and am wearing a four-piece centurion combat tech set, a champion shield and battlemaster earpiece. The rest is Recruit. Should I ditch the Centurion pieces for recruit? The stats and set bonus are better on Centurion, but armor rating is a bit less and so is expertise. How important is defense now? Should I be loading up on more defense pieces? Does adding points to shield help much? Does absorbtion help? Is everyone squishy now? Should I just ditch Ion Cell/Shield and go for DPS so I can get at least one big hit in before I die? How much of my trouble is related to the fact that I am playing against much harder opponents than I was before the patch? Population was up significantly yesterday -- over 200 on fleet around 8pm, with 150-160 during the day (I had rarely seen it go over 130-140 previously, 70-80 during the day). and all the opponents seemed very coordinated -- I suspect that a lot of heavy-duty PVPers that had not been playing have come back.
  10. "Stay Frosty" is still not frosty. :-(
  11. One improvement they could make would be to add some of the most common items that people buy from the PVP vendors to the Medical Service droid item list. I don't see any reason that you shouldn't be able to buy Warzone Medpacks from any medical droid.
  12. Two things that would help get people off of the Fleet and out into the world: 1. Put PVP mission terminals in each spaceport/orbital station or perhaps next to the various Flashpoint shuttles. This way, you would not need to go to the fleet to pickup/cash your daily PVP quests. 2. Put in a "return to previous planet" option on the Fleet which would take you back to the Flashpoint shuttle on the planet you were last on.

    should i pvp?

PVP is not needed - you can play the PVE part of the game just fine without ever PVPing. However, you may find that PVP is fun. PVP also has no risk -- your armor will not be damaged and you can lose nothing. If you queue up for PVP warzones, when you are done, you will reappear where you were and can continue questing. There is one way that PVPing can help your PVE experience -- you can use warzone commendations to buy things at the PVP Armor Vendor and PVP Weapons Vendor on the fleet. They have gear for level 20s and level 40s -- much of which is better than the normal quest gear at those levels. Don't worry about getting killed in PVP. It will happen. A lot. But you just get up and charge back to the battle. EDIT: PVP can also help you by giving you xp. If you are finding PVE fights hard, you can get xp through PVP to get to the next level. When you go back to questing, as a higher level character, the fights will be easier.
  14. I like the PVP warzones, both pre-50 and now 50 (I've been 50 for two or three days). I also liked open-world PVP as I leveled up, infrequent as it was (and it was relatively frequent 40+). If you don't like these things you can simply roll on a PVE server and not queue for warzones. The rest of us can continue to enjoy them. Perhaps I am enjoying it because the "pvp base" is gone and those that are left are there because they enjoy it too.
  15. I've been 50 for a couple of days on Jung Ma and have played around 15-18 level 50 warzones since then (Vanguard). I had played around 20 pre-50 warzones (and quite a few on a different character) and am not particularly skilled in PVP. I started with blue 46-49 crafted armor. Huttball: The Imps are really good at Huttball. 6-7 games, they all ended 6-0 or 6-1. I got my first ever goal, though, so there was a positive. Alderaan: Most games seem pretty evenly matched and, if we didn't win, it was close to the end. Some Imps are not very good at Alderaan, though, and we did win a few by a large margin. Voidstar: This one can go either way, but the Republic seems to be a little better at it. However, in two of my 5-6 voidstars, all of the Imps guarded one bridge in the second room, so I ran across to the other one and opened the next door without opposition (and quickly ended the game). I can't believe that no one else has tried that tactic before. This was all during the day. I never had to wait more than 5 minutes in queue. I don't know what primetime warzones are like.
  16. I simply wanted a Republic non-force class that wasn't smuggler (already have one of those). From the list of classes that met those requirements, I chose "Trooper" pretty much randomly.

    Pvp gear

I think the lowest level ones are 36. You can take the enhancement out and put it into something else (such as armor) if you like. Visit the "PVP Weapons Vendor" on the Fleet, near the PVP daily missions terminal.
  18. I turned 50 with my Assault Vanguard on Saturday and did 8-9 warzones yesterday. I am in mostly blue 46-49 armor with a good barrel (124?) in my rifle. I quested to 50 and only played a few pre-50 warzones (plus a few more on a previous smuggler). What I found playing against level 50s: 1. I am remarkably squishy. Turning on Ion Cell helps a lot, but reduces my dps quite a bit too. I could stand one-on-one against a lot of opponents, but someone better come and help quickly or I will die. I seemed to be getting around an equal number of kills and deaths (10 for 10 is typical). 2. You don't need to kill things to help your team. Harpooning the ball carrier in Huttball, for example. In one voidstar, I scooted across to open the far bridge instead of the close one in the second room. Then I ran across, opened the door, then ran through, opened the shield, then the door, then the final room -- I'd never seen the final room before. It doesn't matter how good your gear is if you are guarding the wrong bridge and I'm going over the other one. 3. The Imps are good at Huttball. We lost every game badly, although I did get one goal (which I don't think I've done before). 4. I need more health. I think am around 13000 and that doesn't seem very high. I finished off two daily quests for two Champion bags and bought a third one. I ended the day with a nice new Centurion chestpiece.
  19. It might be difficult for planets with a spaceport, because your ship is not in the world, it is in an instance in the spaceport. It would easier with orbital stations. Just add addition shuttle landing points and add them to the selection list on the shuttle in the orbital station landing bay. To start with, they could a link to and from the orbital station to the Flashpoint shuttle.
  20. I had the same problem and I have done three things that collectively have improved my performance significantly: 1. I upgraded from 4G to 8G of RAM. 2. I added a 4G USB memory stick and activated ReadyBoost (part of Windows). 3. I switched to the "very low" textures option when they added it. This one helped the most. On increasing RAM: My graphics is Intel HD Graphics which shares RAM with the CPU, leaving much less than 4G available when I only had 4G total. With a 64-bit operating system, Windows can also use "extra" ram for all of its ongoing processes -- the game gets as much as it needs. If you have less than 4G of RAM, I would recommend upgrading to at least that much. Question for the crowd -- if you have a 32-bit operating system, can integrated video use ram above 4G?

    One Sided Warzones

Doesn't that make them more powerful? Thus balancing out the sides.
  22. You can always throw them in your vault to use later, when you have new companions or want to advance the affection of your current companions. If you are 50 and have maxed all of your companions, then this wouldn't apply. Companion gift quests also seem to give schematics which you can use or sell.
  23. Actually just REing my green recipes into blue gave me perfectly fine armor for my trooper (and companion). If I had a surplus of resources, I might go for purple, but usually didn't bother. Blue armor was better than anything that would drop from quests -- I usually used my quest rewards for weapon mods or artifact boxes.
  24. Am I right that the purple versions of the green items are generally as good as the purple versions of the blue items of the same level? (The Military War Boots REed into purple will give you the same armor level as the Dreadnaught ones turned into purple twice? -- and you can get there without having to RE purples (which can get expensive).
