This will all calm right back down. Four or five servers merged with Ebon Hawk, everyone is trying to find their old guild and set things up. I would be worried right now if there wasn't a queue. And fwiw it's queue, not que.

Oh em gee, all the buzz kill. Now for a dose of reality. Like anything new and shiny the gloss will wear off and things will calm down a bit. I don't suspect there will be much of a queue in a week. Sheesh. ...and I am on Ebon Hawk.

Ebon Hawke is far from dead. D3 did a number to it but it's quite viable.

The only complaint I have is I didn't bring enough popcorn.

Not theoretical they said it, but theoretical what they need to sustain. Is that a worst case scenario number for them or a comfortable number? Was that a figure with their pre-nerfed staffing or post-nerf?

Yep I have used it once when I mis-clicked buying gear for a companion. It was late and I had my commendations refunded in around an hour. It surprised me it was so fast. Kudos to the CSR.

I understand the economic implications of not making the theoretical 500k, but much of the hype seems to revolve around a need to be playing the most popular MMO. It's doubtful there will ever be another WoW where a single game can so completely dominate the genre. In this post WoW era MMOs will have to share the available pool of subscribers. With whatever amount of subscriber-ship TOR actually requires, if they are able to provide necessary new content and the occasional expac I think the real TOR fans will be happy. Then gaming fotm crowd may continue to bounce from game to game with minimal effect to TOR.

What I fail to understand in any of these threads is what does it matter how many subs the games has? The main problem BW has is the population is spread too thin. Hopefully transfers will consolidate the population enough so people aren't so isolated and can get on with playing the game. Ultimately if the game fails, it fails. Move on to another. It's not like all your friends will tweet that they know someone who played that fail MMO...or will they? rofl Sheesh.

Don't forget the bonus areas of the planets. Usually the quest density is high enough to gain at least an additional level.

But once you hit 10k you will initiate the final interaction which will complete the companion progression...right? *edit* I went to youtube and watched the Ashara romance. Noted there was a second letter. I think I had it before I hit 10k (maybe around 9.9k). During the first set of dailies she stopped getting affection and I noted she had 10k/10k. Opening up the legacy folder showed the bonus.

I have my first companion, Ashara around 9800 affection. I received a letter from her with a rank 1 Luxury, purple quality Killik silk cloth and a letter about meditation. Is this cloth supposed to be given to her or to another companion who actually "loves" luxury gifts? If I understand things when she hits 10k affection there is a presence bonus. How does this manifest? Is it listed somewhere? Thanks

Dailies really speed up the companion affection. As a Sin tank I run Ashara for my dps and Talos on elites. She's around 9k affection and when I max her I will shift to Xalek or Andy. Oddly it was Khem I all but abandoned. He will probably be the the last one I level.

I'm not worried about the level cap being raised and the effect on gear. There is an important difference between TOR and that "other" game or similar. Our gear has removable mods so you can continue using the same piece from 11 to 50+ by just updating your mods. The other game was obviously different, you could change enchants or gems, but the gear was stuck at whatever ilevel it was to begin with. With raising the cap there may be a little gear grind but not as pronounced as it could be.

I had a fiancée who ended up being like Vesh before I called it off. When presented with the in-game light or dark choices I killed Vesh. I blame my ex I suppose.

Not entirely the case. Just last week I saw someone at the GTN with glowing eyes and a green smoking body. I'm sure there are players who have accidently or not-so-accidently saved an infected character.

For me the equation is Rolling alts + smaller world populations = a dead economy I'm on Ebon Hawk and I find myself at the GTN wondering where the stuff is. This is with both factions. I'm leveling 3 and more often than not there is nothing available. This is especially true under 'item modification' category. When stuff does appear it is priced like it was personally hand made in platinum. This has made me spend credits I would have gladly spent on the GTN to level crew skills. This situation has it to where the only one I need which I don't have yet covered is armstech, for the aim barrels Akaavi needs. I'm all for balance but between lower server population and lack of viable crafting the GTN suffers. This forces people to roll another alt and level the necessary crewskill which leads to less need of the GTN which leads to ...

If a darker green pair works for you Kira is wearing Enshrouding Force Legwraps. I think they were commendation legs from Alderaan. I'll post a pic in a little while. *edit* Pic linked. Also just noted there is a lvl 39 Traditional Demicot Lower Robe which are really pants. They are light gray.

There is also a craft-able orange lvl 20 techblade.

Excellent work, but it confirms my suspicions of few alternatives being available.
