  1. Almost same situation as OP...6 level 50s, 1 level 47, 1 level 39 and after the transfer a level 16. I've unlocked almost all the legacy perks but went broke doing individual perks. Figured being level 49 legacy meant my remaining 3 toons to level would go by quick...and for my level 47 it seemed to, but it also emptied my pockets. I'm barely making enough credits each level to cover the costs of my skills (including crafting). I was able to unlock the first 2 levels of piloting for my level 47 and 39 early on which was a huge benefit to getting around. But the cost is just way too much. I'd really want to get my level 16 all the necessary perks but it'll cost me close to 1 million credits. The trade off just doesn't seem right. If I spent that much time earning the ability to unlock these, why do I have to spend just as much time earning credits to actually use them? I agree with the OP, at a certain point we should be discounted the costs.
  2. I like the comparison to Tears of the Sun. That definitely sounds pretty close. I think the Prelude has the feel of 24 though since you're still going solo in a sorta race against the clock. The end of Act I and II are probably the best chapter endings of any of the classes. The 3rd act and its finale fall a bit short though compared to the Sith or Jedi stories...and definitely nothing beats the IA finale.
  3. I finally finished the trooper story last night. I was satisfied with the way it ended. It didn't have the epic finish like the Jedi Knight or either Sith classes but it did give closure to the story. Like the other class stories it had its ups and downs. The prelude was probably the best part IMO...felt like I was in an episode of 24. The rest of the story as a whole was a little meh...but there were enough moments in there to keep it fun. The companions were definitely the best of any of the classes. The BH had some great interaction with them all but with the trooper, I really felt like I had a team and they were involved in more of the cut scenes (even some of the fights which was awesome) than any of the other classes. Rakton was a bit disappointing as the big bad boss compared to other class bosses. But getting to him was actually a fun ride. And the highlight of the whole story which I think brings this story up right behind the IA's is Jaxo. I actually had to exit that cut scene and look up the results of each choice before making a decision. o.O
  4. I must've been going at it for 2 minutes without realizing that both were healing each other. I was 47 when I did this fight. I would sticky grenade one whenever it was up while focusing on the other. The grenade was doing enough damage to the other to keep him healing himself rather than his partner. I'd run in and let them knock me back, then run in again to interrupt the heals on the one I was focusing on. Rinsed and repeated and downed them easily after that. Whenever you deal with healers, you have to remember they're set up to save themselves first. So if you do enough occasional damage, they'll waste their heals on themselves while you can tick away at the other. (On a funny note, I popped my heroic moment on Rakton and he went down so quick I wasn't even in melee range yet when he went down...only used 3 of my legacy moves. Squishiest boss I ever faced. )
  5. Sounds like concealment is the way to go then. And I'm very familiar with stealthing past most mobs, as I did that frequently on my Inquisitor and Consular. For the most part it was been pretty easy to stay within 2-3 levels of my quests. Thanks for the feedback.
  6. So I played the IA in beta and finished that class first live. I was sniper spec and haven't played her since around February or March. It's been a while. I'm working on a Smuggler right now (Dirty Fighting) and am remembering how much (contrary to a lot of other players) I love the mechanics. I still remember however, how much a pain it was doing boss fights on my sniper because I'd always start off within arms reach of them and cover was a must for a sniper. I think I played around with a few other trees during beta but never past level 15...so that wasn't much of an insight. The one think I like about the Smuggler I'm playing right now is 75% of the time I can ignore the use of cover and still be fairly effective. So with all that in mind, I want to start a new IA to try out the other story options, but I also don't feel like playing the Sniper tree again. Loved the burst dps but would much rather be able to run and gun through most of the fights like I can on my Smuggler. Which tree should I be looking at for this? I'm thinking (from reading other posts) Concealment would be it...? Oh and if makes any difference, I am 99% going to be just doing quests (no FPs, Operations, PVP or end game).
  7. All of my toons were level 23-26 doing Tatooine except my Smuggler. On my Bounty Hunter and Sith Warrior I did the bonus series and ended up at 28 heading into Alderaan. IMO it just depends on how many mobs you kill as you complete the Tattooine quests. My Inquisitor and Consular left Tattooine barely at 26 because I skipped 90% of the mobs, just stealthing past them all. So even if you're underlevelled, you can catch back up later on doing the Planet's bonus series or just killing more mobs than you need to. As long as you're within 2-3 levels, you shouldn't really have problems though completing quests.
  8. I did this fight last week at level 27. I'm tank spec'd and had Theran out. It was a long fight but after 3 tries I got it. I pulled from range, then ran up to her so that Theran was nowhere near me to keep him from getting damaged from her AoEs. I would run out of her quake attack. Everything else I would try to use interrupts, but being so under level, most of the time they would be resisted. But Theran was able to heal through them. Just use your CDs whenever they're up, try to interrupt everything except quake whenever you can, and run out of quake. The fight probably lasted about 6 or 7 minutes just because I was doing so little damage. But it's definitely doable as long as you're paying attention. Moving out of quake made a huge difference because of the amount of damage, stacked upon her following attacks, Theran just couldn't heal quick enough. Once I figured out to move out of that as a priority, everything else was survivable.
  9. I hadn't even gotten past level 10 on my smuggler when I did this on my SW...so when I first met Risha on my ship, I was like ...well I know where this is going -_-'
  10. My level 40 Trooper, Jurikona.
  11. This. It's more than 1/3 the cost. I do, however, feel the XP bonuses and the costs are not well matched...it's too small a bonus for too high a cost. They either need to lower the cost or bump the bonus.
  12. Wow...why is this guy so high level? I've done all the other class Chapter 1 quests solo at level 28 but can't seem to do it with this guy. I'm not even dying to him...the problem is I'm not doing any damage. Only 1 out of every 10-15 attacks does any damage to him...everything else is resisted. Guess it's off to grind a couple levels. It irks me that he's so high level though. :/
  13. Wow that was epic. I think that's one of my favorite, if not favorite, ending to a chapter. I did it at 37, but I have most of the Legacy bonuses unlocked. I can see how that last boss would be tough...I blew all my cooldowns and Vik still almost died. It's quests like these where I wish we had a little option to replay just a certain quest over again. I would love to do that one more time. I was a bit disappointed though, thinking I'd be able to switch out Vik once his part was done. So I left Elara without a specific assignment. And when...
  14. Was hoping to go all black like Luke Skywalker in Return of the Jedi. But then I came across the white robe and ended up not wanting to change it after. Yurikona - Jedi Knight
  15. I thought the class emotes were only usable by that class o.O The character she transferred was a level 50?
