  1. You know, i'm pretty sure Lucas retconned everything about the Prophecy of the Chosen One in arc of TCW.
  2. Lucas suggested Palpatine coming back, in lue of a fake Vader. There were Sith other then Palpatine and the Bananite Order. Ever heard of the LTotS, from the Fate of the Jedi series? Or even the One Sith? Generally, people view the prophecy as referring to the destruction of the Order that Bane started, and the end of the rule of Palpatine as Dark Lord of the Sith.
  3. Want to know what happened even later then that interview, that was directed by Lucas himself?
  4. No, i'm not saying you made it up, i'm saying that we have multiple sources from Lucas himself on the matter, so you can believe whatever you want. Just don't force it on people.
  5. Well he also said all of that. So you believe what you want to believe, but don't say "My way is the only way. My way is the only canon."
  6. I've posted this damn series of quotes five times now. "The overriding philosophy in Episode I—and in all the Star Wars movies, for that matter—is the balance between good and evil." -George Lucas, quoted in L. Bouzereau, Star Wars: The Making of Episode I, 1999 "In each of us we to have balance these emotions, and in the Star Wars saga the most important point is balance, balance between everything." -George Lucas, Time Magazine article, 2002 "The idea of positive and negative, that there are two sides to an entity, a push and a pull, a yin and a yang, and the struggle between the two sides are issues of nature that I wanted to include in the film." -George Lucas, quoted in L. Bouzereau, Star Wars: The Annotated Screenplays "The Force has two sides. It is not a malevolent or a benevolent thing. It has a bad side to it, involving hate and fear, and it has a good side, involving love, charity, fairness and hope." -George Lucas, Times Magazine, 1980 "I wanted to have this mythological footing because I was basing the films on the idea that the Force has two sides, the good side, the evil side, and they both need to be there. Most religions are built on that, whether it's called yin and yang, God and the devil—everything is built on the push-pull tension created by two sides of the equation. Right from the very beginning, that was the key issue in 'Star Wars.'" -George Lucas, Times Magazine, 2002 "The Light is positive. It is intimately bound with the essence of living things; it is peace, harmony and knowledge. The Light Side springs from the great pattern of existence. It draws strength from diversity and tolerance. It is also inherently communal in nature, thriving on cooperation. Those emotions that enhance the existence of the whole flow from it and tap into its great reserves of strength and peace. Patience, humility and self-sacrifice are paths to enlightenment. Above all, it seeks harmony and perfection. The Dark Side, in comparison, is the force of entropy and destruction. Chaos and rage feed it and are its sources of power. The Dark Side is a part of nature — it is not inherently evil, but evil comes from its irrationality, its intolerance and its lack of control. ******* and predatory, domination is its goal. Mercilessly aggressive and unforgiving, its adherents are blinded by greed and lust for power over those weaker than themselves. The Light and Dark Side manifest themselves in the way they are used; they are simply different interpretations of a single aspect of nature, and they exist in balance with themselves and the universe. Just as with any aspect of life and death, both the Dark Side and the Light Side are intertwined with each other, are necessary to each other and form a cosmic balance." -The Dark Empire Sourcebook And the Mortis arc in TCW clarifies this theme again. Lucas may think the Dark Side is evil, but he doesn't think it's a natural imbalance, and evil is subjective.
  7. Obviously. By the time of at least ANH, Mandalore is back to it's warrior culture.
  8. @Jaavik I don't think Lucas is a monster, and I don't really hate him. I just think he's a filmmaker who has too much control of his franchise, and absolutely detests criticism of any kind. Now, on their own, those two traits are fine for a filmmaker to have, but put them together, (and add in a DIFFICULT fanbase) and you have a recipe for disaster. 1. ROTS was an okay movie, better then the other two, that's for sure. Some things about the movie just didn't bring it up to the level of the OT. Personally, I thought AotC was worse then TPM, but as always YMMV. 2. That doesn't excuse his ban on any SW movies after his death. That's spite, plane and simple.
  9. 1. Lucas has way too much disdain for his own fanbase for us to stop railing him. 2. Lucas can be thanked for the initial creative spark for the first three movies, but it took a team to make those movies. Especially his producers. They moderated his vision and kept everything from getting out of control. By the prequels, Lucas had pretty much disposed of anyone who disagreed with him on what the movies should be, and it showed. Episode III was the fourth best movie in the series, behind the original three, but above TPM and AotC.
  10. @Captain_Zone That's fine. The point has been made. There is literally nothing else he could be referring to. This argument is over.
  11. Erm... No. I'm not sure why you would think that. G-Canon is the content made by Lucas himself, and is normally the highest level of canon. As Chee said above, Fett living is a part of C-Canon that overrides a part of G-Canon, due to a very rare exception to the normal rules. When it overrides, it doesn't become G-Canon, as that is reserved only for things created by Lucas.
  12. The one that you posted, here: Says that nothing post-ROTJ is G-Level. If Fett's living is an exeption to the rule, it would be a part of C-Canon that overrides a part of G-Canon.... As you posted here: There you go.
  13. 1. You're reaching now. 2. One says something overrides a part of G-Canon, another says that Chee doesn't know.
  14. 1. How do those first two paragraphs pertain at all to this? Nearly all of Boba's past has been changed by Lucas, not by anything that's classified as C-Canon. What else could Chee be talking about other then his "death"? 2. See, this is where a timestamp comes in handy. I'd like to know which of those quotes came first, because now we have two conflicting pieces of information.
  15. As far as I know, nothing in Boba's past that's C-Canon has ever overridden anything by Lucas; In fact, you said yourself that Lucas has retconned Fett's past, so that can't be it. Seems pretty clear to me that Chee was talking about his death. Or continued survival, as it were.
  16. Wasn't it established in, like, the first four pages that Fett was an exception to the normal rules of G-Canon?
  17. Gah! I need to find out what channel Spike is on Fios. Anyway: 6 5 4 3 1 2
  18. I'll let Zone handle the other quotes, because i'm sure he'll have a snarky comeback. 1. Lucas suggested the Emperor coming back, in place of a Vader look-alike. Technically, every Sith alive after ROTJ should violate Lucas' version of the prophecy, because it's made out to be that Anakin will destroy the Sith. Lucas' version is pretty stupid though, know why? You can't destroy an ideology. 2. Luke started a New Jedi Order. Obi-Wan says it himself: Luke isn't the last of the old Jedi, he's the first of the new. And how exactly was Luke supposed to start another Jedi Order without finding people that already had attachments? I doubt many people are willing to cut all ties with their life and join a space-cult.
  19. I think the main reason the Empire doesn't degenerate into chaos is because practically every Imperial citizen personally owes their existance to the Emperor, and by extension the Sith.
  20. The in-game Empire is the remnant of the Sith race on Korriban, after the Republic culturally and racially obliterated everything the original Sith ever built. The Emperor gathered fleeing survivors during the xenocide and fled into deep space, eventually rediscovering Dromund Kaas and settling there.
  21. Well that must have been awkward.
  22. What about Leia? And how do they find out about Padme?
