  1. Vitiate, I think. Sidious was crazy powerful and all, but he didn't: A. Achieve immortality. B. Have the end goal of eating all existance. C. Drive people insane just by being near them.
  2. I'm really not sure how to say no to this strongly enough. Edit: Oh wait!
  3. Personally, I thought the plot of the first game was one of the best in Star Wars. Top ten, at least. Too bad the second game had to go and ruin everything.
  4. And then you'll die, because your not specialized in anything, and anyone that is will school you.
  5. Some, of the Star Wars movies aren't really supposed to be for kids you know. There's forced amputation in at least five of the movies, and the consistant lesson that if someone is faceless you can kill them with no repercussions. Let's not even talk about the EU.
  6. In this case, neither materiel is the official version, because (as of yet) no official version has been named. As for KOTOR, originally they wanted to keep Revan and The Exile's genders and appearances ambiguous, which is refected in the KOTOR comics, where Revan is always hooded or masked. Later, they decided to canonize them to a greater extent, so they settled everything up in TOR. It was more of a retcon.
  7. The games and the novelizations of the games are equally C-Canon, though game mechanics are almost never canon. Effectively, you can take either as canon, and it doesn't really matter. Either way, Galen defeated Vader and held his own against Palpatine in a battle of the Force. (IE, the final cutscene.)
  8. TFU III. If only so the developers can either: A. Vindicate the last game. B. Kill off that God-aweful clone for good.
  9. The protagonist isn't a Jedi. I'd be surprised as hell if he didn't go after one though.
  10. What were you watching? Galen outclassed Vader in practically every aspect of the battle, and won with enough strength left to go one-on-one with Palpatine. Hell, even that abomination of a clone defeated Vader, even if he was holding back. And yes, I know Galen used his agility to run circles around Vader. It doesn't change the fact that Vader lost.
  11. 1. I'm not angry. B. I... Would have used that video to prove my point. All of the blasts are elongated just like in the game. 4. Yes, but we don't know what the entire level is going to look like, and I doubt the entire game will take place on 1313 alone.
  12. 2. .... And we only see the front of the ship. They look practically the same. 3. Again, early development. B. Again, watch the OT, specifically Episode 4. The blasters fire in almost the same way. 4. Really? So you've played through the game? So you know everything is going to look the same? Well don't hold back on us man, tell us what happens and what it's all about!
  13. 1. They're not uniforms. They're just outfits that the two characters happen to be wearing. 2. The ship is a carbon-copy of a blockade runner - IE, the ship from the end of Episode 3 and the start of Episode 4. 3. A. The blasters sound pretty much like blasters to me. Could be better, but remember the game is still in development. B. His blaster looks nothing like a phaser. C. Rewatch 4-6. Almost every blaster shoots in a stream. 4. They're going to 1313.
  14. Well, it looks like it does take place sometime during the Empires hold of the planet, at least if the Star Wars.com front page is anything to go by. For anyone to lazy to check it out, the main page has an image of the protagonist looking out over an Imperial shuttle and two TIE fighters.
  15. Seeing as there's a mega-thread of over fifty pages, I figured it would be pertinent to open a new thread dedicated specifically to the plot of the new game. Well? What does everyone think it'll be about? The setting, the characters, whatever. I, for one, hope the game takes place during Coruscant's stay as Imperial Center. While the protagonist doesn't ever need to become a Rebel, an Imperial raid would be an interesting section to play through.
  16. Gah, where is the trailer? Anyone have a link?
  17. Gah, you beat me to it. I was about to switch my answer to either of the above, though I'm not discounting the reverse grip.
  18. Well I love Jar'Kai and Shien, but as we know from that clone, double Shien just looks idiotic. Eh. It's a toss up.
  19. Was it even the Dark Side she was accessing? I'm really not sure. It could go either way, or she could have been tapping into some kind of pseudo-grey area, or the Force really is neutral, or.... Ugh. I have a headache.
  20. Erm, sorry. I was a little late in my response, and I was editing when you posted this. But yeah, you're pretty much right. Question: Why was the idea of the Dark Side being natural the only thing we've been talking about in relation to my first post? I figured the concept that the Force could be accessed using positive emotions would be kind of a big thing, but it's just been ignored.
  21. 1. True. 2. .... Because he is the Dark Side manifest? 3. Still doesn't explain why the Daughter was on Mortis at all. If the Light Side is the true, only Side of the Force, she should have been free. Plain and simple. 4. And yet the Sith have never been destroyed. No matter how far the Jedi go to wipe the Sith and Dark Side from the galaxy, they always survive. YMMV, but I see a reason for that. 5. I don't think it is, and I'm not really willing to argue that point with you. Neither of us could gain ground, because it's simply a matter of opinion. 6. Again, YMMV. 7. That's exactly what we're arguing about. You're basing your argument around the assumption that the Dark Side is evil and unnatural because it seeks to destroy the "true" Force, the Light Side, and that the "true" Force is the Light Side because the Dark Side is evil and unnatural and seeks to destroy it. This is circular logic. "Subject A is Assertion 1 because it want's to destroy Subject B, which is Assterion 2, and Subject B is Assertion 2 because Subject A is Assertion 1 because Subject B is Assertion 2...." It just keeps going. 8. I can attest that any quotes about the Dark Side being unnatural almost certainly date to after the quotes I posted. This is also irrelevant, because the most recent canon about this was overseen by Lucas, and are all about the concept of the Force, explicitly between Light and Dark.
  22. 1. They say that specifically to distance themselves from the Jedi. 2. A. The Son never intended to kill the Daughter. He simply wanted freedom from Mortis, after who knows how many thousands of years of being locked up. The Daughter died because of her altruism, when she threw herself between the Son and the Father. B. I feel the need to ask again: If the Light is the true natural aspect of the Force, then why was the Daughter on Mortis? In fact, because there was a weapon capable of killing any of the three Celestials, why didn't the Father or the Daughter just kill the Son then? According to you, either option is clearly better then what they had been doing for untold millennium. 3. A. I never said either Side didn't seek conflict with the other. In FoTJ, Ben Skywalker has a converstation with Vestara Khai, in which she accuses the Jedi of seeking genocide on the Sith. Ben starts to argue about how the Jedi's goal isn't genocide, just… to destroy the Sith. He wisely shuts up upon realizing how stupid that sounds. B. Which is why Vititate, Nihilus, and Sidious were all killed. Also, note Darth Ruin. He ruled the galaxy for quite some time, and he apparently didn't destroy the galaxy. 4. A. I never said the goal of the Dark Side wasn't destruction and chaos. I clearly stated so on the first page, and in a few posts afterwards. B. Which is why there was a prophecy for someone to kill Sidious and destroy his Order. The same goes for Vititate. C. On the topic of Jacen, his turn was a retcon. The original intent for his situation was to discover there was no Sides to the Force at all, which I personally like more. Also note that at the end, Jacen was pretty much the perfect Sith. He wasn't omnicidal or anything, he simply believed the future of the galaxy was on a different path and he followed the Dark Side. He was assassinated for his trouble. 5. A. The Dark Side doesn't seek to "destroy the Force", the Sith seek to destroy the Jedi, and the Jedi seek to destroy the Sith. They pretty much have the same end goal of "wipe out the other side." Note that neither the Son or the Daughter sought to kill each other, and when the Daughter sacrificed herself the Son was horrified. He even mourned at her grave site. B. I did provide dates on his quotes about balance. The dating on his quotes about the Dark Side being unnatural simply don't matter in light of the most recent canon on the matter: Fate of The Jedi, and Mortis. If they both get retconned later, then so be it, but for now they're the final word on this.
  23. Sooo.... Your Sith is pretty much Jacen then?
