  1. Losing by 4-5 points sometimes I will push the enemy towards my own goal to speed up the loss
  2. This is why my battlemaster sniper is on the shelf while I lvl a few alts
  3. I think you have a great idea here. Unfortunately, it makes too much sense to actually get implemented.
  4. this should be added to the in-game manual
  5. If you are running an alt, you could also consider picking up diplomacy/slicing in order to run the mission discoveries for that as well.
  6. Are you planning on just running missions or actually going out in the world and gathering? Treasure hunting and Underworld trading are good mission classes as long as you are getting the mission discoveries for a good price(which would be by running slicing missions). If you are going out in the world to gather items, then you should go with Archaology, Bioanalysis, and Scavenging and don't run any missions at all(except maybe to level the skills).
  7. looking to try this for PVP, any thoughts? http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#400bsrrbRoRZrI0boRb.1
  8. Well I get to play for longer on the weekends too The relationship is great, but mmos are something new to her. Its just more convenient for me to play in the mornings, the coffee is an added perk. I would drop out of a 5-0 WZ with 30 seconds left if I needed to do something for my wife. She will always come first, that's why we have a schedule. PS- I also get to play when she watches the following shows: American Idol, The Voice, the bachelor, my fair wedding, greys anatomy, and several others. Its all about balance.
  9. What is the distribution for your 30/8/3 build?
  10. I'm surprised by the number of responses! I really just posted this to see what others thought, but I would have never guess there would be so many different ideas, lol. When I posted this, we had already come to the agreement that I would play early in the AM before work, usually from like 5-6. It works out great because she always has fresh coffee and breakfast ready when she wakes up. I'm pretty sure I'll have to re-roll on a UK server though so I can play at "peak" times lol.
  11. You just said exactly what I was thinking when I typed my response above.
  12. I just want to point out that nobody is gimped when you already have the highest tier of available gear. There aren't any changes to the gear, just the way it is obtained. It might be a bit of a bummer that it will be much easier for new 50s to gear up, but at the same time everybody will have that same opportunity from this point forward. You really want me to believe that you would like to spend all that time grinding on another character if you decided to roll a different class/faction? Let me answer that question for you... No, you wouldn't.
  13. ...that playing 30-60 minutes a day makes me a "casual" player. Bad idea.
  14. This is correct. You can run the abundant mission back to back and without crew skill bonus you will get two iron pieces per crit. With Max affection I crit maybe once every 5-7 missions, but its very random and my sample size is low.
  15. 1. The lockbox missions net a positive return on average 2. The 340 lvl mission discoveries that you receive when you crit are priceless I'm not saying slicing will make the most credits in the shortest time, but it is very easy to use
  16. Dr Lokin wins WZ by doing melee damage from 30m while keyturning and mouseclicking.
  17. This is sad. I'm already pretty gimp as a sniper and now I am useless for defending objectives.
  18. I would also recommend only being a seller if you are having trouble with money. My only difference is that I would recommend 3 gathering skill and no missions skills just to keep it as simple as possible. The gathering skills are Slicing, Archaeology, Bioanalysis, and Scavenging. Any combination will work. Just harvest materials from nodes within the world and do not run any harvesting missions. If you run into nodes that are too high of a level, go to a lower level planet until your gathering skill levels gets higher. The only expense should be the cost to repair your gear, and you will constantly be gaining credits from killing mobs and harvesting materials. If you don't like messing with the GTN and you are in a guild, you should be able to negotiate a fair price to sell your items to a fellow guild member.
  19. I don't know if its been said already since I could only make it to page 6, but... The reason you didn't die is because you were only fighting the Sith. If some Bounty Hunters and Imperial Agents would have also showed up to help out you guys would have been screwed Sounds like you all had fun, so props.
  20. http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#400ZrI0rRob0MZGrbkMMM.1 This is the build I have been playing around with. I group with a jugg tank spec, sorc healing spec, and assassin fps spec. My job is to keep a DoT on everybody and I use explosive probe and ambush together on the healers or DPS opponents. Once everybody has the dots, I use adrenaline probe and rifle shot till I get energy back up enough to just go between rifle shot and the aoe grenade. If I catch the focus at all, I pop shield probe and find teammates. If melee get close I use cover pulse or debilitate and back away using leg shot sometimes too. The dots don't do a ton of damage on their own, but I can stack up to 3 and just use rifle shot while the dots tick. If I can use explosive probe, there is another dot that ticks with the next 3 rifle shots. The best part for me is the mobility. I hardly ever die because I can stay away from the focus. The boost to shield probe along with pvp adrenal and medpack give me enough time to handle 2-3 opponents long enough for my teammates to help out. I used the common 2-18-21 for a long time and like this a lot better. On paper it looks good, but in practice I really like my build a lot more.
  21. Why do you get the champion title at valor 30 and centurion title at 40? Or why is the champion gear better than centurion gear? I can't be the only one who wonders how things like this made it to the final version of the game.
  22. I see a lot of complaints about the MM skill tree. If your focus is PVP, then I would stay away from it. I'm talking like zero points in that tree. If you are going to PvE, then it can be great for raids if you have intelligent tanks and healers to keep the aggro off you. The MM tree is designed for single target attacks, the other trees buff your AOE and DOT attacks. In PVP you want AOE and DOT, in a raid you don't want them because it will mess up the CC, so that's what the MM tree is for.
  23. I love the class also. I started out at Marksman and I hated PVP, then around 30 someone suggested I try lethality to increase my movement. It worked wonders and between 30-50 I added in engineering. I ended up with a 0-22-19 build and its great. The only time I regularly enter cover is to pop the explosive probe, and then its back to running around with the rifle blast while the DoTs and AoE attacks do the dirty work. I can also channel Ambush and Series of Shots if there isn't a chance of me getting targeted, but most of the time I would rather not enter cover. Also, the boost that engineering gives for shield probe has saved my life so many times i haven't been able to keep count. http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#400ZrI0rRob0MZGrbkMMM.1
