  1. Before the Cartel market and collections launched it wasn't really an issue to find stuff in tour inventory etc.. Now just on armour alone there is 30 pages each showing 16 items. Try remembering what page an item you are trying to find resides at. You end up scrolling through all the pages to find one set of armour. The same with vehicles, weapons, toys, crew skills, titles..... Why can't we be allowed to organise our collections with custom tabs and search by name for gear? The same could be said for character/legacy storage. I have 22 alts and trying to remember where a particular item is is nigh on impossible searching through 220 bays! I end up wasting credits on crafting mats only to find some a few days later in another alts storage container. Let's just have done with individual storage and allow access to every item through every alt. Sorted!
  2. Why should non subs get the good gear? You want the best gear? SUBSCRIBE and support the game! Not only have I subbed since launch I've spent well over £1200 on Cartel Coins. Why? Because this game is my main hobby. And what do we use our disposable income for? Our hobbies! I just don't get why people who can afford a pc and an internet connection refuse to stump up less than £2.50 per week (that's less than a Starbucks) to get the full unlocked game with all the features and complain that they can't afford gear on the GTN.
  3. If you want to see a commando in full pink armour just wait for the new Disney release of the new Star Wars movies. There will probably be a whole squad of them singing a cheesy song
  4. They won't implement it because we want it! It's the same with toggle hood! Really, how hard can it be???
  5. Dear Bioware (Or should that be EA), You obviously fired the experts who used to provide a reasonably good service with this game. Alas those days are long gone. It seems the patches are now written by monkeys and not even trained one's at that. I was wondering if you planned to give us back the original loading screen which I was quite fond of instead of that crap ROTHC picture which in all honesty a first year college student could have knocked out on his first morning in art school! The reason I ask is this: With the game taking so long to load these days (and I have Raid 0 SSD's!) It would be nice to see the original load screen as I spend more time looking at that than I do looking at the game. With the "ALL NEW STREAMING FEATURE" can you explain to me what good that is for players who have a maximum number of alts that are all above level 35? What do you expect us to do, buy another slot with CC's to amuse ourselves while we wait for your incompetence to sort itself out? I've been playing this as a subscriber since launch and sometimes I wonder why. You guys can't seem to fix anything at all. It's just one screw up after another! I was lucky enough to get a day off work midweek a while ago and all I could think of was spending the whole day playing this. Unfortunately it was offline for most of that day with an hourly Twitter report extending it by another hour then eventually not even bothering with an eta! Do you guys even panic when the servers are down? Or just laugh your asses off at people who pay money for a service you can't provide?
  6. Yeah you can buy it on Corruscant. Best way to do it if you want the Battlelord look is to buy the exalted set except the chespiece (you'll have to take it on the chin and buy the battlelord chestpiece off the GTN) and colour match it to the Battlelord chestpiece. One of the tanks in our guild did this and it looks like the full Battlelord set. He was lucky by the way, he got his Battlelord chestpiece off the GTNfor 12k!!!!! I feel sorry for the guy who sold it not knowing it's real worth.
  7. I have to agree with this. One of the main reasons I bought the game was some of the great looking gear in the trailers leading upto general release. It just seems that we keep getting lied to for no reason at all. It seems most of our wishes are ignored. But hey ho as long as we keep paying there's no incentive for BW to act.
  8. I've had the "burn out" feeling lately. The total time played since 24/12/11 on just one of my alts was 30 days 18 hrs (I wish I didn't know how to get that info!) and that was just one of 4 50's! I shudder to think how much time I have spent playing this game in 13 months. I've got another 2 alts at 27 so they'll have to be levelled as well. It's just as well I subscribe every 180 days because I do lose the will to play sometimes. But spending so much time working away from home and living in hotels would reduce me into a dribbling heap without TOR.
  9. I turned level 49 with my sentinel, equipped all the armour/mods/enhancements & augments I had crafted ready for this then took her to the Black Hole and just farmed the silvers (and the elites in the forced labour area). Two hours twenty minutes later I hit 50. It was the fastest 49-50 I've ever done. I did have some XP boosts from legacy active but seriously less than three hours, I was well happy
  10. Too right it's flawed! Make 10 high level greens then reverse engineer them for the 10 Mk-6 components. That's just for the augment slot. Then to craft the augment another truck load of expensive mats. Repeat 14 times for complete set of slots and augments (per character). By now the credits are running very low! And then the icing on the cake; another 420k to equip everything!
  11. On the contrary, most of my fellow guildies have purchased the legacy ship unlock so they don't have to go to the fleet other than to pick up daily's and the occasional visit to supplies for new gear. There are a lot of advantages to not visiting the fleet. No idiots in big speeders parking over email terminals, no abusive people in general chat and not having to battle through 50 players to get to a GTN terminal. I love the peace and quiet of my ship and if you have a repair droid enabled as well you can buy all your crafting gear as well
  12. Mine too. It'd be a lot easier to move some taskbar icons around than have to program every alt's key bindings.
  13. Most if not all of the endgame gear is bloody awful. Some of the BH trooper gear isn't too bad but the rest of it..... My God what were they thinking! I've seen Sages walking around looking more like Romans that Jedi! I have 4 republic 50's (2 x JK's 1 x Commando and 1 x Sage), I had to buy 2 sets of the cartel valiant Jedi armour for my 2 knights because the Tionese gear looked shocking. It turned out to have been a wise choice because every other higher level of gear looks worse than that. My Sage now lives in his Battlemaster shells with PVE mods fitted. My trooper unfortunately is still stuck in Tionese with the exception of me having to change the helmet to stop him looking like he was wearing a bowl (Tionese trooper helm!) on his head. And please tell me that the idiot who chose bright orange for JK's Columi gear was colour blind, in that case he could be forgiven! I also noticed that a lot of especially Jedi armour has more of a medieval theme to it than a Star Wars theme. So once again I see a good little earner for BW. Instead of making the endgame gear look the business, they have release a load of cartel gear that looks infinitely better than the endgame gear so you spend your hard earned cash on Cartel Coins to buy it. The two sets of Valiant Jedi armour I bought cost 2,800 cc's. If I waited for my monthly coins that would have taken 4 months to buy both sets.
  14. Yeah I agree mate. I was trying to say that the new players seem to be getting the majority of the abuse from the long term players.
  15. Ginjaninja always makes me laugh. I forgot the name of the guild it was a while ago but all their members were troopers called Bob. Bobone Bobtwo Bobthree etc... They all had identical armour as well I imagine it's getting quite tough to come up with new and imaginative names since F2P launched.....
  16. I only really started using the ignore function since F2P started. General chat standards have plummeted. I've got a stack of names now added to my ignore list. True there are some awful F2P's but my issue are with the players who burn them because they dare to ask a question in general chat (yes, the questions may seem stupid but hey nobody became an expert playing this on day one!). I saw a question in general chat "How do I make my companion reappear?" within seconds the abuse started, not just off a single player but four or five people started abusing the question for no apparent reason at all. References to his mother, racist, vulgar, gender related.... within 1 minute most of the subjects were covered! If I had been on the end of that I would probably have logged. I whispered the player to answer his question but before I finished typing he had logged (I cant say I'm surprised). So I scrolled back through the chat log and reported the players that were so obnoxious. I don't know if the report function even works, I do get an automated message to say it's being actioned but that's the last I hear about it.
  17. Why don't they just give all four players a class specific piece of kit each? Would it really reduce the time players spend playing? I've done FE HM four times now.... not a sausage! Three times the item was no use to me so I passed and the fourth time I got ninja'd by a player needing the piece of kit I was chasing after that was no use to him. So now it's quite simple. I don't do HM's any more. I just take all my 50's through their daily's and take the BH route instead and don't bother with Columi.
  18. Okay, time to eat humble pie. I'm posting this to a) hi-light my stupidity and b) to help others who may have encountered a drop in performance. I have religiously cleaned and hoovered my vents ever since owning my machine thinking it was the right thing to do. From outside there appeared to be no dust/fluff etc. anywhere. Last week I decided to remove the bottom cover and the three fans as I was getting concerned about this much to the point I was losing sleep! It cost a fortune to buy and I expect to keep this for at least another 2/3 years. The bottom cover came off and there was no visible issues. Then I removed the fans...... OMG!!! All the hoovering I had been doing over the last year had done nothing to clear the radiators, it had in fact dragged every bit of dust and fluff and compacted it up against the heat-sink radiator into three solid blocks of crap! They were so compacted they more or less came out in three separate pieces! I was gob smacked by what I had seen. I also gave it a blast of compressed air while it was all open for good measure. I re-assembled everything and re-started TOR. Hey presto! It now runs again on very high settings with no stutter, no drop in fps and it's now back to being the laptop it was when new I still can't get my head around Crysis 2 and F1 2011 running on ultra with no problem and TOR struggling like hell to play on very low. Looks like that will have to remain one of life's mysteries!
  19. Hi Guys, I decided to dust off the first character I created on the 24/12/2011. It was a sentinel that I got to level 18 then quit in favour of a guardian. Since then I've managed to get three 50's in my armoury and decided a while ago to have another go at levelling my sentinel. My other 3 50's (Guardian, Sage & Commando) were reasonably easy to equip with armour, mods & enhancements, the sentinel on the other hand seems quite a science to get right! I have artifice and cybertech 400 on two other alts so I can craft most purple pieces required. My sentinel is currently level 46 (focus spec) and I'm finding it quite a struggle to balance which mod/armour/enhancement I need to balance accuracy, surge, power & crit etc. If it didn't cost credits every time I ripped a mod out of a piece of armour I could have played about with my gear to find the best balance. But as purple mods cost a fortune in mats and crafting time it's working out to be quite expensive! Up until now I have been crafting mods/armour/enhancements the same i.e. 9 mods +power, 7 enhancements + crit +surge and might armouring. I've left accuracy for earpieces and implants. This method is not working however and I've realised that I need to craft a mixture of mods for this to work. I know it will require a time consuming answer but could someone give me a rough idea of how many of each piece I need to make and where I should install them? Thanks Guys
  20. I'm running TOR on a one year old Alienware M18X. It ran perfectly well on max settings until about 6/7 weeks ago. Then the horror story began! I have given up with WZ's altogether as the performance is dismal. The fleet is also absolute hell! The lag/low fps is just appalling. I have turned everything down to very low and still have issues. I began to think it may have been my laptop. So last night I loaded Crysis 2 and F1 2011. I set them both to ultra and prepared for the worst. What I got was far from bad, both played with no noticeable issues. All three fans blew enough hot air to heat a small room lol. But when TOR is running only the left hand fan (GPU 1) runs constantly and occasionally the middle fan (CPU) starts up. There is no heat/activity coming from the right side fan (GPU2) at all. I'm a little worried that if this continues I may damage my system. I saved for two years to buy it and I really cant afford to replace it if it grenades itself! It is set to maximum performance and crossfire is enabled. I have reinstalled the OS and tried various Dell/Alienware and AMD graphics drivers. I flashed the BIOS to the newest version and have disabled all but essential background tasks. So back to head scratching for me! Anybody have an M18X with the following spec who may be able to advise on a course of action for me? i7 2960XM 2.7Ghz 2x AMD 6990's in crossfire 2x 256Gb SSD's in Raid '0' 8Gb 1600Mhz Ram This game has long ceased to be a hobby and has now become an addiction. I really can't imagine what I would do if I couldn't get my daily fix of this!
  21. I fully agree. Everything up to Tionese (now it's free) should be legacy bound. I have cargo holds full of orange/purple gear that my characters have levelled past. I would love to use this gear on my lower level alts instead of wasting it. And I do mean waste when you cosider you can't sell them on the GTN, hell you can't even give them away. The only option is to sell them to a vendor where they vanish forever and you get a fraction of what they are worth. Can you imagine the cost of buying and equipping for example a full set of orange gear for a level 48 character! It would cost stack of credits and once you hit 50 it's useless! I'm hanging onto my used gear in the hope that one day I might be able to use it again......
  22. It may seem like plain old moaning but I have been a subscriber since 24/12/2011 (yes I blew last Christmas/Boxing day playing this). I was not lucky enough to have been part of the Beta because I wasn’t aware of this game at the time, had I known I would have been first in the queue. There was no download available a year ago and I had to spend £40 for the game discs. I then upgraded to the digital deluxe edition and a few weeks later purchased the collector’s edition. I have subscribed ever since and have bought well over 25,000 cartel coins since they launched, in total more than £380 has left my bank account and gone into your share holders accounts. So I have earned the right to complain to you about the service you are providing! Since the launch of F2P the game experience for me has deteriorated beyond belief. The comments in general chat are crude, disrespectful to others and a good indication that people are getting free access to this game. Some of the player names are also crude (obviously your filtering system leaves a lot to be desired if it even exists, you’re not allowed Luke or Yoda for example but some of the following examples have been cleared). I have come across names such as “dil’do, sheepshaggerbaby, fudgetunnler.... need I continue? It has become quite obvious to me that when we were all subscribers together 99.99% of players (there’s always one or two hardcore pvp players that start swearing and shouting if they start losing but hey if they were hardcore pvp players they wouldn’t be on a RP server would they) respected game etiquette and although there were some disagreements in general chat on the whole it was a generally good environment to be in. I had an episode in the Jedi Temple on Corruscant last night when a level 10 player kept inviting me to a group. I declined the invite 8 times and in the end he whispered “I need help you f*****g c**t! I had never experienced that before the dawn of F2P! I told him that he was way too under levelled/geared to even be there and he told me to shut the f**k up! He is now on my ignore list, a list that used to contain two names before F2P that now has more than ninety. I’m not saying every F2P player is bad (I have helped a few and they were courteous and friendly) but there is a bad element of F2P’s that are spoiling the whole thing. Also I have received countless in game emails offering credits for real life money and to level a character from level one through to fifty for 149USD! Now that F2P is active spammers can create as many accounts as they like and there is very little you can do about it. You cancel their account and they simply make a new one and continue spamming! Really guys had you thought this through? Also why should the subscribers have to hang around waiting for re-spawns because there is an army of F2P's like a plague of locust stripping everything in site? The fleet is such a misery to be on that I spent a truck load of Cartel Coins to kit my ships out with everything I usually attended the fleet for so I don't have to go there (so congrats Bioware for forcing us to buy more CC's!) except to pick up daily's/weekly's and I do that as quick as possible and get out again. My fellow guild members constantly avoid the fleet because of the lag, attitude of others and general overcrowding. I did however find a moment of luxury last night when the option to travel to fleet (2) became available. Just me and 3 others, it was paradise! No lag, no idiots in big speeders parking over email terminals, I could actually see the GTN terminals without having to fight my way through 50 players just to get to them. So I have some suggestions: 1) Create F2P servers. If they try the game and decide to subscribe they can transfer to a subscriber’s server. If they don’t like the game they can leave without any problem. 2) Every area/planet should always have multiple instances available not just once one fills up. The biggest issue I have with level 50 play is the Black Hole. That is an example of cramming too many players into one place. Everybody needs to complete the daily’s there but it is encouraging looting because there are too many players in such a small place. It’s like a mad rush to complete everything before more players arrive! I have three (soon to be four) level fifty characters and I seem to spend a lot of time hanging around (especially the counter eco-terrorism and forced labour missions) waiting for re spawns. Forced Labour drives me nuts! I fight my way in past several mobs only for another player to run past and get there first! Then I’m the one left hanging around. 3) This is rather off topic and I know there are a couple of threads about this. I want/need a legacy bank. I have a total of eleven characters of which six are constantly active. All craft and gather for each other and I spend a ridiculous amount of time emailing materials and gear back and forth. With just these six alts I am trying to manage 21 cargo bays. Remembering who has what and where is a task in itself. If all my cargo bays were in a location where all of my alts could access them it would reduce the amount of time I spend emailing gear and increase the time to actually play the game! 4) ITEM BOUND! I have stacks of gear in my cargo holds that can no longer be used for my current characters as they have outgrown them. However when I start a new alt that gear would be perfect for them. Why can’t everything be legacy bound? You can’t trade the stuff; you can’t even give it away to a fellow player. And the price you get from a vendor is ridiculously low compared to what it actually cost to craft and equip in the first place. I am talking millions of credits worth of gear that I am hording in the hope that one day I can use it for an alt or an alts companion. Bear in mind I have two consular’s two knight’s and two troopers. One of each are level 50 and one of each are between 21 & 42. And finally a few bugs worth mentioning; 1) Inspect other players still does not work. Been like it a while now. 2) Unify companion colours still not fixed. Some of my companions look like clowns at the moment! Why is this taking so long to fix? 3) I’m not sure if this is a bug but it is bugging the hell out of me! Reverse engineering!!! Why bother saying chance to R/E and put a percentage number after it when it bears no reality to what actually happens. Reverse engineering greens is not really a major issue as the mats are quite easy to come by. But when a blue item has a 10 or 20% chance to R/E and after seventeen attempts it still does not return it gets extremely frustrating as the blue materials are hard to find and very expensive to buy. If you don’t really mean 10% or 20% then please don’t say it. 4) PVP lag. My God it’s bad now. I used to be able to pvp on high or very high settings. Now I have to use very low settings and in all fairness it looks like a cartoon. I have a gaming laptop with twin graphics cards SSD’s and a core i7x processor. Nothing has changed my end so it must be at yours. My internet connection is also fine and am constantly seeing 49mS. So I’ve had my say. I’m sure many will agree with most of this and many will not. I am also sure that several people will criticise every word I’ve written because some people are like that. I will end on this note. This really is a spectacular game. It has taken over my life for the last year and could now easily be described as an addiction rather that a hobby. I get bored with a game usually after two or three months but this has kept me going strong for over a year and is not showing any signs of fading into the shadows. It’s just that it could be so much better than it is. Iron out the bugs sort the overcrowding as well and you’ll have a game players will play for years to come.
