  1. Will we ever get gender changes along with those race changes? I have a few toons I would rather change even if I had to pay Cartel coins. Would love to know if/when we could get this as a customization option!
  2. Wait I was being criticized? Since when did I design Swtor healing? I am backing healing logic with concept, which sadly is more than BW has. So by saying AoE should have higher numbers comes from the view that all heals should play and be exactly the same. But they aren't and I am glad they aren't. I didn't realize adding that direct heals should compete with AoE would offend you so. And yes, Sorcs are tons more fun. Instead of the sneaky run around I just shoot things with lightning. They should have just made every class a Jedi to avoid the mess they have on their hands. Yes it would be dull....
  3. Alright, didn't think I'd need to add to this. I am a heavy theorycrafter and a LONG time mmo player. So don't bother trying to say "but blah blah about how parses mean nothing" cause frankly you have no idea what your talking about and are wrong. "But their AOE is better so that skews numbers......blah blah" is basically a fully ignorant statement. An AoE healer shouldn't be that much further up. Let me explain. Take a game where healing is also bad but more balanced: WoW (yes I did have to go there to make this point). Now the only fair WoW comparison would be Burning Crusade. For a few reasons. Specialized healers, limited resources, similar amounts of healing spells per class when compared to Swtor. As a holy pally in WoW during BC, I could match or out heal AoE healers. AoE healing in BC was better but worse on resources than Swtor currently. Holy pallys had a handful of heal spells and ALL of them were single target direct cast bars. So by your logic all AoE healers (preists and shamans at that time) should have had 25-40% more HPS just because they healed more targets. Well, in some cases they did clean up HPS but that was very rare. Direct healers could compete because they had such a thing as "tank healing". I.E. a dedicated healer who healed almost exclusively a tank. Now one of the main issues with healing is the total bumbling design of fights damage delt by bosses and the complete disregard for organisation in concept (i.e. raid heals and tank heals) as to not exclude a given class (BH are completely excluded which is 1000% unfair) and this is an example of one of the issues. We raid 16m content as I mentioned. Because of that having more AoE heals are vital, so Sorc is the only healer to use. Hence why I am rerolling. So before you all act like I'm some sort of idiot who has no idea what I'm talking about, perhaps you should ask if you even know. Sorc is the only healer for PVE. Go ahead and argue that point, but there is no point in that as you would be wrong. Edit: Clarification.
  4. Acceptable opinion given how terrible 1.2 was for healers, but I am in a guild of friends and I'm not leaving them without a healer. I wont be unsubbing, but I hardly blame you for the suggestion!
  5. My biggest problem with BW is that they wont admit to their mistake in regards to the healing changes. Look no further than Blizzard at admitting mistakes. Greg Street (WoW's lead designer) has made countless posts and blogs about mistakes they've made and lessons they learned. If BW says "Okay so we made a mistake, but here is what we learned from it" that is very hard to use against them. They admitted to something most wouldn't and shared the lesson learned. Look at the huge mistakes WoW made, to their own admission, and how often on their forums people call them out on them. Yes there will be those who wont drop it, but they are dismissed as trolls as fast as they post. You made a mistake BW, admit it and share with us that you learned your lesson and I will forgive you. Others might not, but I would rather this game succeed. Until then I will have to just suck it up and avoid pvp.
  6. Currently playing an Op healer. I just managed to get my best HPS in a NMM Bonethrasher fight at 1665 hps. Then our top sorc healer told me they pulled 2100 hps. Granted they are a great player, as am I, but beating me by that much speaks to mechanics more than skill. The key problem with Op and Merc healers is the resource and nothing else. So without whining, re-rolling Sorc. Which will make our healing team 4 sorcs. No real reason to heal as any other class. While having close to 90% uptime getting out healed by 400-500 or even more on some fights is frustrating. So I'll just play the class BW wants to play for healing, Sorc. On the plus side, I'll have a lightsaber!
  7. Long story.. I founded my guild and was originally a Jugg tank. I switched to Op healer because we didn't have one. Due to guild drama I gave lead to a much better leader and stayed a loyal second in command as a healer. The healing changes were so bad I quit PvP all together. I log in to make money and raid, no dailies, no HMs, no PvP, just crew skills now and then and raids. I can't give up on healing. We are having to make some of our reliable top dps switch to heals just to keep running 16m. This is even worse when you consider how brutally tight enrages are now. So the main problem for me with the healing changes is that I don't want to play the game and as I am locked to a healer position now as a top officer in my guild, I only log in cause I have to, not because I want to. Never ever before have I logged in to raid a game I didn't enjoy raiding in. But I really like our GL and our guild. This is a sad state when a fanboi like me only logs in because of an obligation to friends who I want to have fun, while I slog away playing the role that no one, including me, wants to play. I'm not going to list mmos coming up that will change the world and cure cancer, because as people playing Tera know, that a new mmo will be good but will hardly cure cancer like they have proclaimed on these forums as well as others. Which is why I want this mmo to just work for me. I don't want the greatest mmo ever. Just one I can log into and actually enjoy raiding on with friends.
  8. +1 to enrage timer hate. Every single boss has one, and it's so tight that one DC for 15 secs or a single death will often mean enrage. So yeah, if you wanna keep enrage, cut us some damn slack.
  9. Was pissed about the whole thing at the start of a raid tier. Not everyone has time to go deal with some world event that was pushed on people and get the vaccine. So now that the stupid world event is over, GET RID OF THE DISEASE FROM ALL TOONS ONLINE AND OFF. Had enough of this and im sick of it wiping raids because it goes off during a critical moment. Don't have anymore vaccines. So do us a favor and undo the horrible mess with this boring world event. Nice try on an event, but note to BW, next time you do an event don't make it intrusive. Should have learned from WoW and their ghoul world event. It fails.
  10. So our guild was working through SM EC 8m tonight. We only have 3 people who aren't FULL Rakkata. Both tanks weren't full Rakkata and 1 healer. (One tank was full columi and the other tank and healer were missing just a few Rakkata pieces.) The mechanics are fun and engaging. The issues we had was with enrage timers. This leads me to believe that either dps stats were nerfed of the content is slightly over tuned. Now before you yell baddies at us, we had EV HM on farm at the beginning of January and KP HM on farm the second week it was out, and have cleared them (save for Soa on the really buggy weeks) every single week since. So our entire 16m raid (or 8m since not enough people showed up.) are fully geared out for this, and it's not the mechanics but the enrage we struggle with. A few core problems are because of the lack of a viable means in which to judge, record and deal with metrics. Since we can only look at our own dps, we have to go through great lengths to get every single person to get their dps at maximum potential. Now even if we knew everyone's dps, it doesn't change that BW's toxic attitude to theorycrafters has made them walk away. I spent an hour or 2 just trying to find some healing numbers to compare mine to and found nothing. Worldoflogs can tell me tons about healing and dps in WoW in a single easy to go place, And Elitistjerks can help me achieve that goal. So you stand at a cross roads BW. You can man up and make a full team real time combat log so we can all improve as players and as a team. Or you can force us to struggle on invisible enrage timers which are too tight because metrics are shunned and theorycrafters are told to go away. TL;DR: Mechanics are great and I love them. Making me jump through hoops to work on the dps of my team after you shun all of the theorycrafters is unacceptable, especially given how insanely tight your enrage timers are for people in FULL rakkata gear.

But I forgot, forum go-ers are just a bunch of "your doing it wrong" quoters who more often than not disregard info on the problem at hand, and add some retarded advice that means nothing and it un-related.   15. So why haven't you fixed the 1 shotting yet BW? When a DPS is in full or a few piece off Rakkata and he 1 shots you in 16m hard mode...uhh ***!? Tell me when you slackers plan to fix this. Kinda getting old wiping on a boss and praying for luck it doesn't 1 shot too many people to even beat the boss. Fix it. Sick of wiping on XRR-3 and 1 shotting Soa.
  16. Heaven forbid you should have to earn an epic... Go try a raid, 2 drop off a boss in 8m and 4 in 16m. Anyways, I am sorry to hear that you feel entitled to full epics just for logging in. Best of luck to that happening for ya. Protip: Logging in doesn't award you full epics, earning them does!
  17. I'm actually logging in at work to reply to this one. This will be a lengthly post as I have given the idea of a smart phone/tablet/internet browser concept like this quite a bit of thought. I do have and have used the Blizzard WoW mobile app many times. With this mentioned allow me to get to the very first issue at hand. First I will adress arguements against it. Balance: With the mobile app in WoW you could post and repost auctions. Which in itself can be unbalanced. Swtor however doesn't have the same issues as WoW, allow me to explain. Swtor's crafting system is based off of "Crits", I.E. chance and risk for great reward, WoW's system is based on supply and demand more so. To elaborate, say there are 2 crafters. Both craft 2 of the exact same chest peices. They both post them and say one has the app and one doesn't. The one that does can repost should their auction gets undercut. By the time the crafter without the app gets home their chest peices are the most expensive, where the app owner is likely the cheapest and most likely to sell. In SWTOR however, say the crafter without the app gets a Crit. It is suddenly a very rare item and unlikely to get undercut due to rarity alone, thus there is no real advantage, just luck. Next, assume the Swtor app would only allow for crew skills to be used and NOT the global trade. The "Crit" argument still stands. Yes you might get to send your crew on a few more missions a day, but the advantage is only slight. If you don't crit, it isn't worth as much, and as they take sometimes up to an hour or more, you're not getting that many more missions than those without it. Solution: Due to the nature of Swtor's crafting system there is little to no issue. However should the argument come up not allowing for Auction making access and only crew skills being available would quell most of it. More Money IRL = More Credits In game: To even use the Blizzard mobile app costs an additional $2 sub monthly, BW would likely do the same. Next the said device in which to access the app would cost more. The argument is that if I have a mobile computer and you don't, does that mean I can't use mine since you don't have one? It isn't an unfair advantage to own a mobile device IMO. So say I had a laptop that could access the internet from anywhere, is that different than a smart phone at all? I concider a smart phone a mobile computer, just a small laptop with less functionality. If I can afford better tech in which to access a game than someone else, than so be it. Just like in Swtor, just because I have more creds because I know how to make them and someone might not know how to, should I feel bad that I'm riding a 2 mill cred mount and they aren't? Those are the 2 biggest points against the idea of a mobile app. I'll chime in later to add some ideas for said app. I just feel justifying it to begin with is more important.
  18. You shouldn't be crying about 16 made easier than 8, you should be crying about how easy Hard and Nightmare are. I'm glad 16m is being made Viable to those who don't want to beat their heads on the keyboard. I have full cleared Hard on 8m and 4/5 NMM EV. NMM 8m is actually easier than 16m norm. The issue isn't size vs. difficulty. It's hard/nmm being too easy. Pick your battles, this isn't one of them.
  19. Actually Master Looter is bugged. Even if you run hard I highly recommend you DON'T use ML. Also go do Hard, Norm is far too easy!
  20. I shouldn't even have to come and post this. Remove the Hardmode quest and just make it a toggle like operations please. Having to pick up call to arms to do BP is annoying and pointless. Foundry is another all together failure I don't have enough time to full list. Either make the FPs toggle hard mode through the UI or make all FPs able to be entered and the quest picked up inside of them. Love your game but this is such a mess of backwards quest grabbing in the right sequence that is makes me wonder how any of your programmers learned how to code. Easy is better in every single way. Make it easier. Nuff said.
  21. Alright. I weighed into this before but after doing more research, I still stand behind Vader. Here's why: The answer actually lies with Emperor Vitiate and Emperor Palpatine. Palpatine is more powerful than Vitiate was. However Vitiate was a master of force based mind control. Revan's fall to the darkside was entirely because Revan and Malak attempted to kill Vitiate and the two of them not only horribly failed, but had their mind's controlled immediately by Vitiate. Palpatine manipulated Vader to fall to the darkside, probably knowing his midi-chlorian count was simply too powerful to use direct mind control. Vader has more power with the force regardless of his lack of training. Next Palpatine killed Vader with force lightning. This has been a strong argument against Vader, but remember Palpatine's force lightning can create force storms capable of destroying ENTIRE WORLDS. Vitiate's lightning can mortally wound Revan in a single strike. So Palpatine>Vitiate is the metric to show weather Vader>Revan. If Vader was tricked by Palpatine and later killed by force lightning capable of destroying worlds, and Revan was flat out bested in a 2V1 battle against Vitiate and mind controlled to fall to the darkside, one can assume that Revan is clearly a drastically weaker Jedi/Sith. Vader>Revan. This should be more conclusive than most lore arguments I've found.
  22. I would consider this article credible save for one key point. Lucas has time and again said Luke Skywalker was the greatest Jedi ever. Why would he erase the trilogy of his fantasy alter-ego? For no reason because he wont.
  23. +1 this issue. MY guild has NMM/HM EV and KP on farm. KP is a huge offender for this. For example: This week our HM Karagga loot was 126 exotech/xenotech gear and the mount. No Rakkata weapons or loot. Just a mount and nothing else. NMM EV has SERIOUS issues with the loot. Dropping Columi gear on NMM? That is absolutely criminal. I can see Columi dropping on HM still, but NMM? What's the point of having a NMM if it's not worth doing? I'm sure this will be fixed in the future. I just figured I would weigh in and say that even NMM still drops Columi and it's near pointless to do more than once just to say you've done it. KP is worse than EV but both are very huge problems for this.
  24. BF3 and MW3 are both average like the failed mmos you mentioned. Does that mean they aren't modern fps? I never said every modern mmo was good did I? Go back and read. I said this is how mmos are now. Also I'm not in the crowd that thinks the next mmo will "save" us all like many others. I'm not implying you are from that crowd. In this case forgive me for being a little cynical that a sequel to one of the most bland and terrible mmos is somehow going to be the next thing. Back on subject. Be sure to go to Ilum. Check out that masterpiece!
