  1. So, you go onto a forum that is specifically for discussing a computer game and see people discussing a computer game and assume that's all they do? You don't know how people spend the rest of their time. Maybe they have given much of their time during the day to different endeavors; family, friends, politics, religion. All you see here is the slice of their day where they discuss a particular topic. Since that's the only slice you see, you evidently assume that's all there is. One could just as easily say to you "You spend all of your time worrying about what other people think of a computer game! Get a life!" But anyone employing even marginal critical thinking skills will recognize that that probably isn't true. The issue isn't one of people worrying too much about a computer game, it's more to do with your perspective, or lack of it, than anything else.
  2. Rewards should be what they were before. Otherwise no more pvp for me here.
  3. Oh, get over yourself. people can scream just as much about how WoW has lost over a million subs...it must be because it has no implied targeting!!11!!1!! Just because you don't care for a feature doesn't make it a bad one, or somehow the cause of anything that did or didn't happen in another game.
  4. You must have been trying to make a Republic Zabrak. They have different options than Empire ones. I can recreate the character you showed easily in Empire side now.
  5. This really defeats one of the more fun aspects of PvP, especially if you pug...there's no "us" vs "them"...the person you're facing off against this match may get put on your team next match. No cross faction rivalries, no Imp vs Pub...just a bunch of random guys duking it out for no reason.
  6. Except then someone that DC's gets punished for 24 hours...way to PO the customers into quitting. Punishment is a totally ineffective tool for deterring unwanted behavior anyhow. If they want people to stay in matches they need to provide an incentive...kind of like it was before 1.2
  7. No, he expects some incentive to keep playing. He either came into the match late or is a godawful PvPer. in either case, why should he continue? He either got screwed out of his time by being stuck into a losing match, or he has a lot of hard work and learning to do. Whichever it is, if there isn't some incentive given to keep him encouraged and trying, then he will just go do something else. Sooner or later what happens in pretty much every other MMO will happen. PvPersw will dwindle in number, Q's will take forever to pop, PvPers will cry about how devs don't pay attention to PvP, there's no real PvP in this game, Just Wait Til (Insert next MMO here) Comes Out!, etc. If you want PvP to survive, you need to encourage people to do so...the Dev's can do it with rewards and players can do it by not being *****.
  8. Maybe this is a reverse ninja, but I had a bunch of stacks of something, forget what, up for 20,000 and accidentally added an extra 0 to one stack. Rather than eat the listing fee, I just left it up...a little bit latter someone buys all the stacks at once, including the 200k one. Moral of the story, whether you're buying or selling, always look before you click.
  9. The way it is, there's no reason to even try to sticj around once you're down. The possibility of the loss isn't worth the investment of time. Might as well leave and try to get in one that goes your way. This is especially true of you get in a pug vs. a premade. best thing, IMO, is to simply avoid PvP for now to see if they fix it.
  10. Thew unique storylines are only 20% of the quests you have to do to get to 50 TOPS. So sorry, but lack of content is very valid, since you would have to repeat the vast majority of quests over and over and over to get all 8 classes to 50.
  11. Like most legacy features, it's pretty much useless and just cosmetic. The only one that I really like at all is the cross class buffs, but I expect those to get nerfed somehow since they're actually somewhat useful. Even the legacy items are total crap - don't scale, cost a ridiculous amount of credits, etc. The legacy system is pretty much total fail. Fortunately it's like PvP and the space combat - something that's easy to just totally ignore while I play this like a single player game for the class stories.
  12. It's not evil, but they're not doing because they "care" they're doing it because they can make money. MMO players remind me of guys that go to strip clubs and believe the girls really, really like them since they pay attention to them and sit in their laps.
  13. If you like making alts, and have a lot of money and high legacy level, then it might be. PvP is completely screwed up, IMO. Some new PvE stuff that isn't really different from the old PvE stuff. A color matching system for armor that sort of works, in certain situations. If you didn't like the game before, nothing has changed so much that you're going to like it now. No server transfers or merges, so if server population was an issue for you it still will be.
  14. Pretty much in the same boat. Now I'll just ignore PvP altogether, but that changes the scenario: Before: Level one character on each side through PvE and a little PvP, Level all other classes through class quests and PvP Now: Level one character through PvE and PvP (already done that one before the patch) Level second character through all PvE, Quit game. The PvE faction quests are not enough to want to make me do them twice. And I won't do PvP under the current system, so that's pretty much it for me. It's a shame too, because there are parts of the game I enjoy.
  15. While I also like the game, for me it's the lack of a truly open world. There's so little actual game area...it really feels like the corridor worlds of ME just opened up for more players. There just isn't any sense of exploration or depth to the world. IMO immersion really suffers because of this.
  16. After the original announcement, I was up there at the front of the pack with my torch and pitchfork. I can understand why some people might still not be satisfied with this, but this does convince me that if people make enough noise, BW will listen. This is a good thing, because it's one of the few signs of a living community in the game...there has to be cooperation and give-and-take between the company and customers. If those interactions are missing, if all we are to do is take whatever the company tells us, then we might as well be playing single player games or reading books. So, I'm glad BW listened and recognized their customer relations snafu and will give them another chance. Hopefully, they will proceed more cautiously in the future, because although I've put my torch and pitchfork aside, I'll be keeping them within easy reach, just in case.
  17. If you don't reward people for playing, then most people won't PvP, just like most other MMOs that have a PvE centric population. PvP will be relegated to the sidelines and get less and less dev resources. Q times will get longer, people will bail out faster, and the overall quality of the experience will go down. If you don't have a big incentive for people that are not hardcore PvPers to play, then the hardcore is all you get, and there are not enough of those to justify expending any significant amount of dev resources on.
  18. The prices are probably what they should be...especially for convenience or vanity things, like mailboxes on the ship (Though honestly, given that there are like a million mailboxes everywhere I think it would be less convenient to use one on the ship) None of that stuff is needed to play, it's just there to give those with a ton of credits something to do. I will say the armor customization is pretty pathetic though...when I use it it barely changes anything, gloves and boots still don't really match my chest.
  19. Right, like all those that changed servers in their 30s and 40s, then got to the 30s/40s on their new server only to get told they are not loyal customers because they did not get to 50.
  20. Why is this guy allowed to report anything with that speech impediment? He sounds like a TTS program trying to read a badly spelled forum rant.
