  1. I'd pick something else, no need to do the same thing twice, you can even make the armor on your Republic character and mail it to your Imperial.
  2. Clearly you've never tried it because you find it so morally reprehensible, but I've tried every class but assassin and powertech as a level 10 in pvp, the only reason I haven't tried those two is because I haven't played one yet. And I can tell you with 100% certainty, the bolster system takes in mind that you only have a few powers. I used to come out of my first pvp thinking whatever class I'm playing was insanely overpowered until I figured out it was the bolster system. At 10, my Jugg had 63% damage reduction, in quest greens and empty slots, now at 28 in crafted blue and purples it's 52%. That same bolster affects everything else too, I have easily gone toe to toe with 30s and won, really only 40+ will eat a lowbie group alive, and they kill my 20s just as fast as my 10s if not faster. Also, I know level 10s can hit number 1 for most damage, I've seen it happen multiple times. The bolster for 10-19 is MASSIVE.
  3. Well with all the time standing there unable to do anything you have plenty of time to type, RIGHT! RIGHT! or SNOW! SNOW! If you are guarding a node alone then your main job is pretty much to warn everyone else, you aren't expected to solo multiple people.
  4. Well they do have force speed so yeah, it's quite possible they got away on time. For me I hit evade right before I go invis so if their is an AOE it might miss me and not knock me out of stealth. For me it's evade, cloak, run like a madman in an unlikely direction.
  5. Because PvP is boring when everyone is playing the same class. People want to play the class they like and still have it viable, they don't want to just play Sniperwars.
  6. Because for that to work with any usefulness you need thousands of people PvPing, on an average server it sometimes takes an hour to get 12. So lets say they merge the servers and it's like the good ole days, maybe 60 people all pvping at once. That still making individual rankings useless for composing groups. You'd have like 2 matches of high/average and 2 matches of average/low, which would probably make very little difference.
  7. Still working for me, the two missions I ran at that level yesterday both critted. My slicing isn't maxxed out either yet, maybe that is a factor, I don't know.
  8. I have 4 characters, one of each class, so I have a cybertech, biochemist, armormech, and artificer. I spend TONS of money on the GTN. I buy crafting materials, the stuff the other two crafting classes make, crafting missions, etc. Crafting may make you money, but it also costs lots and lots of money. And while having 4 characters means you can make more of your own gear, you also need to outfit 8 people (character and main companion) regularly. That's a crapton of gear and unless you have 6 characters you'lll need something from someone, and even if you can make everything unless you have buckets of time to grind mats you still end up buying off the GTN.
  9. AOEs work to knock people out of stealth, he must have already run out of range before it went off.
  10. I get them all the time, they are dirt cheap on the market because of that, the only one I don't have is the grade 4 armor and it still hasn't dropped or showed up on the GTN yet.
  11. Every MMOs forums I've ever seen look just like these ones, that's why most MMOs only let people with active subscriptions view the forums. If you ever looked at the EQ2 forums without playing you'd be sure that each and every class is the weaker than all the other classes, useless in endgame, there is no endgame and content is lacking. And the game has been around a billion years doing just fine. Same with LOTRO, people that post on the forums almost always are venting. But also keep in mind that only 10% of players read the forums, most subscribers are blissfully ignorant of what we do here.
  12. Well in third person view the very center of the screen is my butt, it's kinda hard not to miss. Plus male characters are bigger and takes up more of the screen.
  13. Well at level 10 empty slots and green gear IS updated to level. Unless you know about some earpieces, relics and headgear I don't know about. LOL
  14. Bolster seems to recognize this, I usually come into pvp thinking every class is ZOMG powerful because I can kill level 30s at level 10 with empty slots and greens for gear. It's usually people over 40 that get to bounce through WZs and roll stomp everyone in sight.
  15. 1. They could always do server mergers and allow free transfers and name changes. So if you lose your name in a merge and it's THAT important to you, you can always find a server where that name doesn't exist, you can test by trying to make a character with that name on each server you are considering, move your characters to that server and get your names back. EQ2 has had to do server mergers a couple times and it was pretty much seamless and everyone was happier for it after.
  16. No way are the Sith good, even if there are an absolute good and evil that exist outside of human perception (which I don't believe to be true) the words "good" and "evil" are man-made, and they are made to describe certain abstract concepts. Even if there was a "true good" it would not fall under what we consider evil because we are the ones that make the phrasing. "Absolute evil" would still be what we call evil even if we were able to understand the concept perfectly.
  17. That's kind of how things were when we first started playing before people had much money. Mats sold on the GTN for less than it costs to run missions, and crafted gear sold at the suggested price that pops up when you post something on the GTN. The thing is that would mean 50s would have way more money as they'd no longer need to fund their alts gearing up, and crafters would make way less money. Easier obtaining of mats means more crafters, more competition and lower prices. Though at the moment mats are so hard to get that there is almost nothing for sale, so yeah, it needs some tweaking, but if they over do it and make mats too easy to get crafting will be completely worthless, not even a method of money making because everything you can sell would be going for chump change.
  18. And since there is like three healthy servers there is just one guy complaining, not much of a split.
  19. Actually all my stuff used to sell in two days, but now that there are FIFTEEN PEOPLE on my server it takes a lot more time for the same stuff to sell.
  20. I find most the dark side races creepy and ugly, so all my characters are human or chiss. This game is like 75% story, I spent a lot of time looking at my character's face, I'd like not to gag while doing it.
  21. LOL. Really? It's not that people have done all the storylines and have gotten bored and moved on. It's not the release of Diablo 3, that a lot of people left to go play. It's solely because there won't be ranked PvP for pugs? What the OP is imagining is some utopia where he will be teamed with players or similar skill based on rankings, but that would take far, far more players than we actually have, even after mergers. The reality would be either A. they make a separate queue for solo and team and everyone spends hours waiting for a match or B. they toss everyone in together like they do now and teams will farm their War Hero gear off of confused scrubs that solo queued. I PvP a lot and I solo queue a lot. Considering how angry people get at each other when winning or losing means very little, I don't even want to think about what would happen when winning or losing affected someone's ranking. People have driven several states to shoot a stranger in the face for less.
  22. That's exactly what I was about to say. That used to happen to me a long time ago, but they fixed it. Now it seems to be happening again.
  23. I hardly see them anymore, not sense they made so many WZs Imp verses Imp. Now when I do see Pubs I think it's novel, "Oh look at them in their wittle brownish-grey robes, so cute!"
  24. With fewer people playing my sales are going slower, I would love one week listings so I don't have to relist. On EQ2 if you put something up for sale as long as you log into your account once a week, it'll stay for sale indefinitely, because of this, no matter what I'm looking for, SOMEONE will be selling it. It's nice to know if I need to buy something (like gear, food, etc) I'll definitely be able to find it on the broker. With TOR, I almost never find what I'm looking to buy on the GTN, I have to ask guidies to craft it for me. I'm sure part of the reason is that it's fallen off the GTN and is now rotting in some crafter's mailbox.
  25. It seems like such a small change but it's one I'm hesitant to make. It would increase the amount of crafting materials to the point where they'd probably not cost more than the missions to go get them, if not less. And with so many mats people would have far more blue and purple recipes. Not sure if it would make crafting easier or worthless as a money making option.
