  1. Your posts confuse me. So you saying you can't w8 on a game that doesn't live up to your requirements (gear progression should be there you say)? It's about as funny as folks that expected SW:TOR to be a good PvP game because it never was announced as its main focus so PvP was doomed to be only secondary to story based PvE from the start all through development into launch and there were plenty hints for that. That you guys blindly jumped on a hypetrain that was only based on the IP, BW and some CGI trailers is your own fault. I knew what to expect so also wasn't dissapointed.
  2. That's like in every other game that has this fail carrot on a stick gear progression raiding / PvP. With each new patch the previous gear set is made obsolete one way or the other so everybody wasted their time they spent on acquiring the previous set? Top tier skilled players weren't playing WoW to begin with so they also can't return to it.
  3. Why not? I've been playing multiple mmorpgs in the same period of time for years now. What until recently was my main game I got a lifetime sub for, atm I'm mainly playing SWTOR but will check back in that game when the next patch hits. A few months backs I reactivated my Rift sub for 2 months to check what had changed. Last year I even reactivated my FFXI sub that I hadn't played for 5 years or so. I don't see why a game needs to be single player to mothball it. The stuff you might have "missed" during you absence in an mmorpg is usually caught up with a week or 2 anyways.
  4. I do but maybe that's coz my main is a sage
  5. You can easily recognize them by their behaviour and skill animations, esp. sage/sorc.
  6. I think it's even more worrying folks need target marking in order to find the healer, I'm able to spot healers from huge distant just fine without them. And I'm not the most surroundings aware person in the SW:TOR universe.
  7. This. And from around lvl 30'ish you level faster in valor than in player level from warzones. I'm almost exclusively doing WZ's and class quests to level on my 3d character and often have to go do some PvE in order to be able to ding valor rank again (eg. that char is currently lvl 36 with rank 36 valor allready maxed it but it can't change to rank 37 until I ding 37).
  8. Not 50 on the character I'm currently playing doesn't mean I don't have 50's
  9. lol dude I'm not even lvl 50 on the character I'm PvP' ing with. If my main wasn't stuck on a dead server he'd been battlemaster over a month ago. And since when does gear have anything to do with being a bad? I've seen more noob battlemasters than I've seen noobs in the lower brackets. Just coz they were early to the game and on a crowded server doesn't mean they're more skilled. Your suggestion doesn't make sense coz you most likely haven't even seen me play yet. To answer your question, no I'm not mad, I really don't give a **** it's just funny to see how you guys are trying to polish your egos with a rank and then go on about how you're quitting WZs if the chances of winning look slim. Thats says all about how much you deserve that rank and how cowardous you are running away when you're facing a stronger opponent.
  10. Rather a leecher than a coward who leaves every WZ where his team is weaker until he finds an opponent weak enough to have the guts to fight. Some battlemaster you are... but hey at least you're honoust about how you farmed that rank cowardly.
  11. I can only emphasize the tips of other players to interrupt. Don't just hit them when off cool down and hope it's the right moment. Several of the bosses have 1 skill that does massive damage up to 1-shotting you. Usually you can recognize them by the longer casting time than the other skills the boss uses. If not, you can allways keep checking the skill name in the casting bar and remember the one the boss hit before you died and make sure you interrupt that one on your 2nd attempt. Also there are usually objects around that you can use to break line of sight and avoid certain skills to hit you and give you some breathing room to use a heal (or medpack) until the boss has regained LoS.
  12. Allthough generally I play male characters like I'm male IRL because I sometimes identify too much with my character and don't want to feel girly ; in another game I rolled a female character just for testing and allthough I had the same class as my male main I got invited into a hell of a lot more groups and got a lot more chatter. So I understand that may be a reason for some. There's apparently too many unexperienced mmo players that still think gals in game are gals IRL and not the actual bald'ish 30+ males with a beer belly they really are.
  13. I won't argue there may be issues with certain hardware / software setups that require tweaking either on the user end or optimization of the client.. Just posting to add to the stats: Monitoring software is allways active on my machine and logging to txt because I'm running a slight OC on stock cooling: CPU: I7 2600K @4.2 Ghz (just FSB 1:1 OC and a slight BLCK bump, no manual voltage tweaking or multiplier changes). Idle: 26-30°C Highest measured temp: 63°C which was on Illum. Avg: 42°C GPU: Asus EAH6970 DCII/2DI4S/2GD5 Idle:30-34°C Highest measured temp: 74°C Avg: 58°C mem: 2 x Corsair Vengeance 4GB DDR3 (8-8-8-24 @1600)
  14. Because my observation since 1999 has been different from yours? Sure RP servers have the more stable population, but in many games where they added too many of them that's as in very stable very low numbers. And often they hold the highest number of elitist lore-police complaining you're ruining their immersion if you do as much as jump near them. So it's a gamble either way. When it comes to higher population numbers, it's usually the normal PvE servers that are the most overloaded during the first month (and often allready during beta if servernames remain the same) that remain the liveliest covering the broadest ranges of playstyle / preferences for the longest period of time. I must give you that I made a wrong server choice for my main though (only decided afterwards that would be my main), for the first and probably last time in my life I went for a PvP server that was at heavy load until the first free month was over. The normal PvE server I have alts on since shortly after launch still holds the highest population of almost all servers. But still I think it has less to do with the choice of servertype than with the ridiculously optimistic amount of servers at launch. Personally I rather have queues for the first week or maybe 2 and only adding servers when too many start locking up than to have servers dieing allready after 1 month.
  15. I agree about the mods from dailies but the crafted stuffs can be quite hard to obtain on some servers. My server is almost dead (at least on republic side), I rarely see over 10 people on Illum and 65 is peak time republic fleet, there's no LFG for flashpoints / ops going on. So I can't acquire anything useful (like the mats needed for the lvl 50 crafting stuffs) from PvE and there's almost never anything useful on GTM either. I'm not in a guild because I've been unable to find one so far that is to my likings, there's never recruitment posts going and the server forums here are dead so I've only been able to ask around which 1x lead to be recruited into a guild full of snotty exploiting kids. I rolled a different class on an other server but am still holding hopes for server transfers to become available so that I don't have to re-roll my main class that's stuck on a dead server. So the fastest and most reliable way currently available to me for gearing up my freshie main is by doing WZ's. Being votekicked from those would make my progress grind to a painful halt. And no I'm not unexperienced, I've had the same character and valor levels since level 15 all the way to 50. Gear progression PvP FTL. You want to only play with your BM friends and not give any freshies a chance, run premades.
  16. This, if spec'd for decent dps and prioritizing crit/surge over alacrity then a sage/sorcerer has a 2-3k'ish heal with 2.7'ish s. activivation time. Sure if spec'd healing or hybrid with enough points in healing they still have awesome cc but the dps is almost laughable, they're tickling you to death.
  17. This gets my vote too. And talking about legacy, it would be nice if at least the legacy name would also be carried over to other servers you may have alts on (unless you regret the name you chose o.c. ). I'm still the same player, with the same legacy, just on another server...
  18. There's also folks that only casually min/max I've yet to come across any definition of casual gamers that isn't at least very much debatable. Folks just need a name to call so they can blame someone.
  19. Yeh I'm sure you also remember all those numbers of every fight so that you can actually analyse the real impact of surge rating? And you're still able to kill people, just those numbers popping up on the screen are a little bit smaller.
  20. Since there's no combatlog to epeen over, why would you care about the big numbers as long as you get the job done anyways? Maybe a tad slower now but that could also make the combat more interesting because you're actually fighting undergeared / new 50's instead of 3-shotting them. You should be more focused on winning / objectives and less about numbers.
  21. Did you read my other posts? I KNOW it's called west, but my experience both IRL and gaming is that west and east is more confusing for folks than left and right. Instead of patronising or trying to re-educate people it might be more useful to reach a compromise so that the largest amount of players understand it.
  22. You clearly read that differently than I meant it. I'm not talking about west being allways at the same spot. What I mean is when allready on the battlefield, the turret that is shown on the leftside of my map will remain there if I turn around, it doesn't suddenly go to the right side of my map but the arrow representing my character's position turns around instead. Also I agree it's basic knowledge but since obviously so many folks are lacking in that, I'm trying to reach a compromise instead of patronising others like you're doing. Left on the map is easier for folks to understand than west or east in my experience.
  23. No matter which direction I'm facing, the west turret as in left when taking the central speeder, is allways shown on the left side of the map. The only thing on the map that changes is the way your character directional indicator is facing, not the turret positions. So even though it's technically not correct terminology, you still have to go to what's shown on the left side of your map, not to the left of where you are facing, which is I think overall the least confusing for those that don't understand which left or west you mean.
  24. I've met more persons IRL that confuse west with east than right with left though it's a close call. How about "INC Left on map"?
  25. Just to be sure on the terminology used; you're anticipating character transfers or character copies? A transfer for me means moving the original, a copy that the original remains as well. Character copy would be nice, but a transfer no thanks. As for the poll I didn't have a chance to cast my vote for: I think the new changes are terrible. The original version was by far the best IMHO. The quickslot visuals were working for me, the issue is with the skill / animation delay, esp. on consular skill "Project".
