  1. It IS free, you just need to meet the system requirements. Saying it's not free is like saying SW:TOR costs you the purchase of the game + the purchase of a PC. edit: sorry for necro'ing this thread, I didn't realise the forum dates currently show in US date format for me.
  2. This, can't wait. I actually purchased SW:TOR with from the start in mind it would only be a gap filler between my previous mmo I got bored off and the launch of GW2. I enjoyed the 1st playthrough here storywise but after that just PvP'd. With the 1.2 changes I stopped PvP'ing so I didn't buy a new timecard and am probably not even going to use the free month that will be added to my account. So this still counts as an unsub due to PvP changes with 1.2 I guess. Too late for me though to fix it but I still hope BW will for those that'll stick around.
  3. Lately I've been quitting WZs a lot or disconnected myself by pressing alt-f4 because I've experienced a lot of lag and the sound bug since 1.2. IMHO the team is worse off with me staying around than me quitting and being replaced by someone who might actually positively contribute to the game. So I would then get some of those nasy permanent titles? BW will never be able to separate the ones leaving due to problems from the ones leaving due to loosing / raging or whatever less viable reason/excuse.

    Darn you caught me, 1st reply after my post to actually notice lol. But yeh no need to differ, they're all the same to me, as a ranged class my pov is obvious: ALL melee classes should be nerfd.

    They're often immune to knockback at the start of the fight when they got that shield thingy on. The knockback is my most important cc coz it also slows them and buys me time to run to a place to break LoS so they can't jump to me.

    Yes since 1.2 I'm feeling farmed by mara's and they also actually do. Try to CC - Immune Try to run away - they'll jump to you, Try LoS kiting - they've jumped to you on your way to an object that could break LoS Would be perfectly fine with all above if I would still have a chance to get away but with the 1.2 buffs their class had and expertise buffs I'm dead before I was able to run far enough or if I don't even try to run, before I got 2 skills off. I'm an A.S-spec'd commando so no grav-spammer and pre-1.2 didn't have too much trouble getting away far / long enough to pop some heals and start LoS-kiting until his immunity wore off. They also seem to know this very well coz I got almost every time I died 1 or more mara's jumping to me within a few secs after dropping from the spawn point or approaching where the fight is. This is with a mix of champ / BM gear with more BM than champ pcs. btw.
  7. Guildwars coz you could/can just jump in from lvl1 and it's completely detached from PvE. Also not that gear-dependant so skil that makes the difference, not the gear.
  8. I've experienced the sound issues in WZs a lot too. Suddenly half of the sounds dissapear and the few sounds still left are cutting out / stuttering. This is very annoying because I use sounds a lot to time my skill rotations. It happens most often for me in voidstar but that could just be coincedence. Also the plane/spacehip taking off on the republic fleet I hear, usually when close to the PvE gear set vendors. I don't mind if such background ambient sound is there but it shouldn't be so loud that it's the only sound you hear and not be cutting out / stuttering.
  9. Apparently marauders can, ok i might be a sec off so maybe 4 but I really don't stand a chance now where before I could do a knockback when not immune, and then kite and even win a 1v1. In the 40' ish WZs I played now against the usual opponents I see, I'm dead before I know it, they even go a lot more often straight for me now than before so they know very well themselves.
  10. With a mix of champion and battlemaster I really stand no chance now on my commando against any melee class that is full battlemaster or allready some warhero. Before 1.2 I had a chance to survive in champ gear against full battlemaster if played well but now I'm down in 3 hits or so, say 2 or 3 secs. max
  11. I think some is the keyword there. The same counts the other way around, because the loud minority that posts on the forum experienced it doesn't mean it's universal. But still everybody that complains about it here words it as if it counts for everybody that is playing the game and PvP is dead on all servers for everyone now. So I just add my statistics to the discussion, nothing more nothing less. And no I'm no fanboi, I only started playing this game because I wanted to see what BW would make of an mmo (I try every major title released, I like to follow 1st person what's happening in the mmo world) and I'm on break / leaving an other mmo I played for years while waiting for GW2 to come out. My experience with SW:TOR is also overall negative but I still enjoy some aspects while bridging the time gap.
  12. In the 35' ish WZs I played yesterday and today there was no single lost match where I got 0 rewards nor any other player in either teams. Ok I got over 3 medals each match and we had at least 1 point in every match, I give you that. Furthermore I've not seen any number inbalance, all WZs have been 8 vs 8, only in 1 WZ of all I played 2 people left and they got replaced with 2 others that stayed until the end of the match that was lost. So that's actually an improvement over pre-1.2 Maybe it's cause the patch is still fresh or maybe the OP is exaggerating I don't know, but I've seen no single sign of his claims that's the fact.
  13. I like the rewarding completionism, it's like accomplishments with a nice (fluff) reward instead of just a title or an entry in the achievements log. But I'm not sure if offering an alternative or combined means of acquiring it with credits was a wise choice. This will only cause more discontent if/once there are useful rewards (I didn't check it thoroughly yet). There will allways be folks complaining that some put a lot of effort into it through gameplay while others that are smart at playing the GTN or allready gathered a huge amount of credits can get it with no effort at all.
  14. Erm so what's your reason for sharing this with the forum community? I'm sure Bioware doesn't need to read the forums to see your sub has been cancelled. I don't need to be pursuaded to cancel my sub by another gamer, I can make up my own mind perfectly well and couldn't care less if you stick around or not.

  16. Just for stats' sake: Been solo-q' ing all night and in not more than 1 WZ there were folks leaving early due to loosing. Actually it were less than I'm used to. In 12 WZ's in total 2 folks left the group before it ended and that was even in the same WZ. We won only 3 of those 12.

Allthough I don't like the changes (but will still stick around in loosing matches even though it might be painful and dissapointing), if I read through some posts on this subject I'm in doubt if folks are looking for new ways to justify their leaving loosing WZs behaviour or for incentives to stay in a loosing WZ. Especially since several of those posters allready posted they saw no reason in staying around in loosing WZs pre-1.2,
  18. What I did was stack medpacks instead, preparing for the healing nerf and the fact that many great healers allready announced they wouldn't be healing in PvP anymore
  19. Real commando's do. I've been A.S. spec'd almost since I rolled my commando and never looked back. Outside 1 evening to compare the trees, I haven't even spec'd high enough in gunnery yet to even get grav round. And I do well enough in WZs, am almost allways in the top 5 even as fresh 50 on that character with only 2 champ pcs. and the rest lvl 49 crafted stuffs.
  20. It doesn't solve the problem though, folks inability to listen is about as strong as inability to read.
  21. Pugging and vent / in game voice just don't go well together either anyway. There's a lot of folks that don't use a mic even if they have one. It's fun to listen to a raging mr. know-it-all self-proclaimed ops leader though.
  22. haha yeh many folks are beyond help when it comes to directions but for those it doesn't matter at all which one you use coz you'll allways have a 50% chance they appear at the right spot. I just notice (perception, I didn't gather stats) that overall more folks show up faster at the correct place if I call left or right than if I call out east or west.

  25. Yeah press releases with statements about what they're planning without giving any details are allways to be taken with a grain of salt, especially if coming from a big developer working on a big title. Well at least they left enough room for improvement
