  1. What is the logic behind adding emote text to emote actions? Do we really need to be notified when someone sits down or starts to weld something? Could it be possible to have some toggle to not send a emote text notification when we perform one of these visual actions.
  2. Roleplayers are always last on the list of importance when it comes to MMORPGs. It also tends to be the smallest of communities, hence why they are last on the list of importance. Of course roleplayers do extend the life of a game usually... see the Neverwinter Nights series for example. (Of course that is not an MMORPG)
  3. PTS 1.3 update patch notes is loaded with bug fixes. Will we be seeing these fixes as part of weekly patches or will we need to wait for 1.3?
  4. Will the content revealed at E3 be for a future expansion pack(something purchased) or free content patches such as 1.2?
  5. All I see here is "I love playing this game, I just don't want to pay for it."
  6. WoW success came from the fact they were the first to bring the MMO genre to the masses.
  7. Fact: You cannot keep all players happy. Fact: If 1.2 and 1.3's features were in at launch. people would be complaining about other things for SWTOR not being "successful. Fact: Despite popular opinion, SWTOR is actually fairly successful, not a raving best in the universe success.
  8. Marketing ploy? Sure why not, to say they are going to increase the server population sizes to have more concurrent players on at any given time and merge servers together to promote this increased size is a benefit to players whining about empty servers.
  9. Name these MMOs? Don't just leave us all in suspense on what titles are using these without supporting evidence. As for Hero Engine advantages. (taken from the Hero Engine website)
  10. Voice overs are fantastic, I couldn't see any RPG without them these days. SWTOR is not the only MMO around to have voice overs, expect them to exist throughout the MMO genre moving forward. Even older MMOs are slowly getting voiced content in.
  11. There is far more to what goes into a game than the engine. The amount of textures, lights, network code and the various additional technical designs that overlay the core of the game (which is the hero engine) create overhead that can lead to problems and performance issues. MMOs are massive beasts of web of code, assets, and libraries. Don't blame the engine entirely, that is what the unenlightened would do.. Research, understand, decipher.
  12. DC Online uses Unreal Engine I believe. Hero Engine is actually very interesting if you are a developer. It actually isn't bad at all. I'd use the engine myself, if I had a project I wanted to designed for MMO play.
  13. It all depends on WHO the bounty hunter is and WHO the trooper is... for example Rango Tel vs Jace Malcom Dengar vs Narlock
  14. If it was a Sci-fi game then sure. So are you asking if we would play World of Warcraft?
  15. This ammo effect while looks fairly okay for Troopers doesn't seem to do the bounty hunter very much justice especially when it covers the entire pistol and kinda removes the coolness factor of whatever you are holding. I'd like to suggest that this effect be switched to be a screen of some sort on the bounty hunter's forearm (like when we see the screen for the recharge and reload) This would keep pistols looking awesome and the two classes to have unique appearances which is always delicious.
  16. SWTOR doesn't care about your monitor's refresh rate, besides you never really need to go beyond 60hz or 75hz.
  17. What is so special about this day again?
  18. Models don't stretch out or adjust themselves, they are created/modified to fit. Personally I'd like to see the various headbands made as helmets.
  19. Well given that Bioware never stated these things will be in at launch.... no they should of NOT nor were they required to be in at launch.
  20. It happens in the movies, it should definitely happen here... its a star wars classic occurrence :csw_bike:
  21. They are speaking to us to us through telepathy
  22. Ancient doesn't mean not advanced. Hell look at Mass Effect...Ancient technology fueling current empires is the entire basis of how things work in that game.
