  1. I feel tricky to kill, but not hard. If people attack me like I'm a DPS or Tank, then they won't win because I can LOS like a pro and pop out of over 3 seconds later with my health back up. If they know I'm a healer and send 2 melee after me, I'm in trouble, but I do have my own stuns. I think it takes persistance and 2+ people to lock down and kill a good healer, but that is fair because we don't do alot of direct damage.
  2. My personal best is just under 500k, http://i215.photobucket.com/albums/cc44/LeCosmic/SWTOR/Screenshot_2012-01-23_22_43_54_440065.jpg I find it tough to totally focus on healing when I can see people taking objectives or dps classes just sitting out of range pounding my team. I've kept a pure healing spec for hardmode raids, but honestly..I think a mixed heals/dps spec would suit me alot better. Anyone got a suggestion for a good mix?
  3. I agree. I made a similar thread a while ago, combining it with a thread about how long it takes to get from planet to planet if you want to help a guildie or friend. Pointless travel time with mind numbing micro steps so you have to constantly push the journey along. It doesn't add to immersion in the slightest. I'm surprised they didn't go the whole hog and make you wait 2-10 hours for each hyperspace jump to instill MORE realism in you. Instant planet to planet travel (from a ground based space shuttle on origin planet) needs to happen at some point. Flying up to a station, then to our ship should be an option only.
  4. When are roleplayers getting the updates we've been requesting for months? I'm talking about things like chat bubbles and chair sitting emotes?
  5. Even with a seperate channel only for /say and emotes, and the chat box extended to max with chat text at it's smallest, in a large roleplay event keeping track of specific conversations is a pain. It is possible if you never blink, but it's not ideal, and brothers and sisters, the ideal is always what we should aim for. An adjustable chat reading range bar, with settings between 10m and 30m would be ideal.
  6. We cannot resize it to make it big enough to handle WALL'O'TEXT. I can touch type, and I type and read really quickly, but even I struggle sometimes to keep track of what is going on. They could fix this easily, as they already have a limit on chat awareness distance, they just need to change it. Even a flat limitation of 30m would improve things.
  7. I play a pure Sage healer with over 1700 willpower and good crit/surge ratings (obviously top gear). I wanted to explain that the 6k crits you occasionally see in PvP are quite rare, usually it's around 4k on a main heal and if you do see a 6k crit, that healer has used stims/adrenals/relics and it's probably just going for the 5k single heal medal. Healing is not overpowered in PvP, because to be a powerful healer you end up with poor damage, but with some LOS and nice rotations you get a boost to survivability, which I suppose leads enemies to think you are "OP". All it takes is one enemy to focus on me and suddenly I can't heal my team effectively because my mitigation sucks (force armour helps a bit but one good 3k crit and it's gone). Everyone targets healers, it's just a fact of well planned PvP, so really we need to be able to survive a bit of a beating. Time your interupts and knockbacks and we'll drop very quickly, especially Sages who need to stand still for all our best heals.
  8. : ) You got meh! "smuggler with pistol whip? no problem. /emote makes you think you are a dog with worms...take that GregoryIRL!" good to see you around, kinda!
  9. SO we get 15 cent comms per champ bag, and 7 champ tokens before valor rank 60, and then the same for BM bags except with champ and BM tokens. Ok. How many champion tokens does a piece of champion gear cost, on average? I know alot of people are unhappy about this, but if I know I can get one needed piece of champion gear per week from opening my max capacity of bags, I really don't care. I'll put the work in, cause I'm valor rank 54, have opened dozens of bags and the number of duplicates I've gotten is nuts.
  10. I see you have retained your special charm from the SWG forums..don't make me create another video mocking you. : ) The OP isn't complaining healers aren't viable in combat, or useful (they are very hard to kill if they play skillfully), what he is saying, and it's a point I happen to agree with is this. If a pure DPS sticks to their role and does well, they get 8 medals min. If a tank sticks to their role, they get 8 medals easily. If a healer sticks to their role, they get 4 medals. I play a sage healer, pure healing mind and I've learned to throw out dots and stuns which get me some of the kill medals, but strictly speaking why should I have to multi task to score medals when every other role need only stick to one job to get medals from two categories? That is the imbalance.
  11. I have to laugh at people pretending their server is a "super" server for roleplay. Trask Ulgo is just as full of top quality roleplay guilds, events and community spirit than any other EU RP server, and we don't pretend to be anything other than a normal server. Just because a comparatively small group of guilds signed up to a server for a specific reason, be that PvP, PvE or RP doesn't make it "super". /tiphat.
  12. That is nuts. It's a combination of bad things that makes this such a problem. Not only can we see the words of everyone in a massive radius, but we have no chat bubbles to focus our eyes on the group around us..and, we can't resize our chatbox to make it big enough to handle wall'O'text. We are thrice goofed, ergo! I demands justices!
  13. Yeah. Went to a roleplay event on my server on Nar Shadda, and it was a total nightmare. Not only because we have no chat bubbles in this game (silly bioware) but also because for some insane reason, the distance my character can "hear/read" the conversations and emotes of other players is massive. My text box was like a scene from the matrix. If I literally looked away for a second I'd miss conversations and have to scroll up, only to then have to scroll down slowly looking for my friends words. It needs to be fixed and quicksmart. Put a slider selection bar in "chat" options to allow us to customize how far away our characters can read peoples words. Right now it feels like well over 100m (for emotes at least) , when it really should be no more than 30m max, with 10m being the smallest setting. PS, we need chat bubbles...everyone needs em, even raid groups and pvP'ers.
  14. Outstanding. Completed my weekly and dailies today again. Opened 6 champ bags..nada. Been that way for almost 3 weeks now. Good one Bioware, you really accomplished taking the mindless grind out of MMO's.
  15. Chat bubbles are the number 1 essential thing for roleplayers, especially given we have pure roleplay servers which are full, so Bioware know there is a community need. Followed swiftly by sitting in chairs, or just having a few sitting options that can be used for any object (like crates, tables etc). I tried a guild roleplay event on Coruscant....never again until they get chat bubbles. What a nightmare. I can read faster than most people and even I was struggling to keep up with the walls of text..from everyone in the room. not good.
  16. So long as every dead companion is replaced with a droid for your ship who can craft stuff,I don't care much. I only ever use one anyway!
  17. Not too shabby, you have good timing and spatial awareness. Couple of pointers. I don't know if you have put points to improve your force armour, but mines has about 3.2k protection roughly, instant cast with no cooldown. Shields placed on yourself and others count as healing. You need to get into the habit of shielding your whole teeam, starting with yourself. Always always shield and hot yourself. The only other thing is you spend alot of time way out in the open. In Voidstar, you should hang near the pillars for cover. This does make you more likely to be spotted as a healer, but it saves you having to take massive damage running to cover. A good healer can LOS and self heal with 2-3 people chasing them. That is 2-3 people not hitting anyone else.
  18. The problem isn't the modded gear, it's the top end PvE and PvP gear. You cannot really take the mods out or you lose the set bonuses, and almost all of it looks terribad.
  19. Always sorted loot rules before a run. Do this with friends, and especially with strangers. Save on heartache. Profit.
  20. Bioware want us to play socially with our friends and guildies, they SHOULD want us to help each other and do everything they can to make assisting friends as pain free and boredom free as possible. Reducing the pointless aspects of travel is one of those things.
  21. You think so? Ever travelled from a cave on Belsavis when a guildie needs help, just after you used your fast travel device, to a heroic on Alderaan? You are looking at 10 minutes travel time, all of it pointless, storyless, content lacking timesinkery. The views might be nice, but they get old real quick. When I click on a space shuttle on Alderaan, I should get the option to "travel to ship" and "view galaxy map". I then should have the option to instantly travel from one planet to the other, landing in the spaceport without 5 interim stages of utter trash filler inbetween.
  22. Travelling from one planet to another to help them is a pain in the bum, plain and simple. There is no good reason to make travelling such a chore Bioware. You've said you want to remove the grind from MMO's and put fun into everything. Trust me, travelling in TOR is not fun. It's boring. It's repetitive It takes too long. I understand you want players to explore the planets you have created, and for those visiting them for the first time, I get that and I understand the travel point unlocking system. I'm level 50, been level 50 for weeks and I did every quest, bonus series and heroic your game has to offer, twice! I have almost every datacron, I've explored and travalled around....I don't need to spend 5 minutes on a painfully slow flying bird after a 7 stage painfully slow and cumbersome space transition just to help my guildies. For the love of all that is holy put a "travel to group" option in, with one stipulation. You can only travel to your group if you have explored the planet, and the location where they are. You'd land in the closest fast travel point near to their location and pay all the fuel/fast travel costs you'd normally incur getting from point A (any planet) to point B (your friends planet). Please, I'm begging you put this in. I'm a guild officer and 10 minute utterly boring trips are starting to really annoy me.
  23. You can't kill a healer because you are a tank with low DPS and the ones you fight are probably LOS'ing you like pros. Are you aware healers get a 30% reduction to their healing potential, and are you also aware a good healer is the number 1 target for an enemy group? Tanks are pretty much ignored. Don't tell me we're OP. Our damage is low and it's really not easy healing when you play a smart team who instantly focus you down and stop you healing anyone but yourself, thus robbing you of even more medals. Healers have a really hard time in SWTOR and the last thing we need it our abilities reduced. I commend you for trying to raise awareness of the medal situation.
  24. Then I target the person from your team who is trying to speed away and instant stun em, or use my own slow/mezz, and my team do the same. You hardly have some uber advantage. Every faction has a profession who can do this. /shrug.
