  1. I actually think that tor was great for casuals until addons came. What Tor did offer was a peacefull environment without blames and elitism, I did welcome this as wow is horrible there. The thing is, I am sure that with LFG and the addons this might change soon and the elitism that I see at the forum allready, will swap over into the game.
  2. First of all thanks for the link. Regarding your feedback, I disagree there. 1.2 had the legacy system, personally I think its a great addition to the game. Its an as big feature like achivements were at wow but a lot better thought out. Since we have a family in Tor, it does finally make sense to take over boni - not like at wow, where my troll who has no connection to my Undead does support her with various things. OFC it should be extended, for instance should companions be more involved and the professions of them - but it would also be intresting to have a shared stash someday a house for all chars etc. Now to your question what should be in the game in 1.3. Personally I think that rated WZ´s are really a major feature that should come soon, right now a solo q player has no reason to play anymore this can only be fixed by a solo ranked q system - which is hopefully coming soon. It will bring back a lot of fun at pvp. Regarding pve content, since I did not yet raid at Tor and did not yet lvl all chars to 50 (actually just 1) I still have a lot content for myself. I doubt people are really done with all the pve content, its so much and atleast for me - more than at wow. Ofc once people are done with every class, they need something new - I guess space multiplayer missions can be fun, housing can, more crafting will - but also world events are nice. Bw will bring the LFG in 1.3 - I do hope that the rated WZ´s do not suffer by that and that there is a way to filter out elitist players in the LFG else its useless like at wow.
  3. Merges always ruin the game for those that lose their guild, char, legacy names... I play on a standard server regarding that website and there are enough people, you dont need a high server for playing this game. Light servers should get a transfer, but then they will lose all their char names etc. not sure if people would find that fun. I would be pretty angry about losing mine.
  4. Such decicions are tricky... I definately think it is the only possible way right now, as premades dominate too much and as a solo q you just have no chance of getting anything done like that. Once premades only meet premades they can go back to wins instead of games.
  5. I was tanking every encounter on my druid on release, no problems - add´s did tank our DK or Pally / as my bear was always the MT. The normal mode was in most cases a 1 or 2 trys fight, that did not offer anything new than the raid encounters of previous addons. If you raided there, which I did then the fight´s were a walk in the park. HC´s were limited due the gear available, as it took a while to grind the points for it or to be able to afford the enchants - some went for 4k on my server or were not available at all. If you had the gear together, the HC´s did again not offer much and were most of the time very easy. Exceptions like LK HC 10 men are ofc. there, but the majority of the content does not really need much. Ofc I do have a bit more knowledge than the WOTLK gamer, but in the end it was not very fun to have content that is only repeated constantly and only hard because of some achivements that you can get for some goofy items or titles. The constant whine you describe was of low skilled players that sorry to say, were brought to wow at WOTLK. They did not understand the simple mechanics like CC, Mana management, CR, OT, kiting etc. As I said, wow aint so great - it really is not, atleast not anymore.
  6. The thing is, those rude people like the guy that insult me earlier dont even try to explain those that dont know... no they just attack and insult, they act like 10 years old - seriously. I have never heard of any pvp items that drop, nor did I ever see some drop for me. While lvling I made it to a good valor rank and wanted to get gear with it, I didnt know either that valor is of no use - nobody said a word. How shall people know, there are those with a life outside that dont know every loophole that this game has to offer.
  7. You are not saying the truth, or you completely ignored your companions or pvp equipment before. When I hit 50 with my char, I cleared every planet except the final 2 (3 heroic quests) and I had not even enough credit´s to buy all abilities. So I just bought those for my tank spec, left the dps alone , didnt buy a vehicle or a "riding" skill, bought 1 recruit gear by credits and 3 by commendations. I dont get how people can say 900k credits is what people get at 50, its just a lie. I did all space missions, made it to valor 25, did the bonus series, heroics, dungeons etc. still I was broke. I never used the GNTN, the only gear I bought was the pvp stuff at 20 and 40 - still no credit´s. You guys can insult others as much as you want, fact is we dont have those credits and as for me, I got a valor rank that I cant use for anything... why not let people buy gear with that rank? What is it for anyways?
  8. The hook died at wow too with TBC... I dont know but when we did LK before the 30% buff, we felt he was allready too easy. Yes he was the final boss there, but hardly a real "challange" unless you did do him in HC. Cata... was too easy as well. I agree that vanilla and tbc had somekind of hook and ongoing story that people were playing for, but with WOTLK it was not there anymore. I often did ask myself why did I kill that boss now, why did I go down that pit etc. At tor right now I dont bother with raiding, I lack the time for this - when I hit 50 I was called to defend the Emperor - so far that call was a oneway, so that I will shortly lvl a second char and see what happens there. All I am trying to say is, that wow aint the holy grale that people think it is, since WOTLK its boring and dead and does hardly have that "hook" or "carrot" anymore that it once had. It just feels wrong to enter a raid and 2 hours later the final boss of the expansion is dead, there is no point and since everyone knows that, its no real fun to down these bosses. I did almost all Bosses at Cata just once, I couldnt bother with it a second time - unless we went HC, but even there you felt cheated by its "generic" progress, that was not really something intresting as you knew it all before. At v anilla I did love doing MC, BWL, AW 40 and Naxx multiple times - the fights had something and you could also upgrade your chars. I miss that completely at wow today, just go to the vendor and buy items.....
  9. No need to look for the screen, yes I do know that statement as well. Unfortunately it seemed to not work that good in 2011, I dont know... but I tend to run into groups of the same server a lot. Not always, not as much as at Tor - but it happened What I found so sad at wow, was the missing solo ranked - like League of Legends has.
  10. Which MMO does this currently? Wow does not, thats my status 2011 - they also have no solo ranked.... Would be intrested in hearing a few examples, besides League of Legends (thats no an MMO I know )
  11. Been a premade player of hour 1 at wow, did fight numerous battles there vs. other premades, made tournaments at Warsong etc. and I can only say that a premade vs. premade is fun and exciting. Whats no fun is playing a pug, as there is no challange and a premade cant lose vs. a pug its pretty much impossible. A premade has the gear, experience and tactical advantage and unless you do know every player of your own team and got a few ex rank 14 (at wow) players with you, you wont stand a chance. At tor I do queue solo too, dont have the time anymore to lead a group and as a casual its hard to find a spot as well, so I would absolutly demand a pug vs. pug queue. If it will come someday, I will be very happy to pvp again - until then I just try to do my daily but thats it. On my server is a rep premade that always manages to get in with atleast 6 players, you see their guild tags. Its just no fun.
  12. + it has a micro transaction model, so if you want to be someone in the game you must purchase items. Thats what killed GW2 for me, I would never play a game that forces me to buy items to progress or be equal to others.
  13. I dont have fun anymore with "Singleplayer" games, I dont know... its just boring after a while. To be online is somehow essential for me in a game these days, or the ability to play with friends via Lan etc.
  14. The evidence is there, just google the numbers. Wow lost about 15% of its customers since WOTLK, keep in mind that ASIA subs are actually deducted from the sub drop, so the reality for Europe and US is most likely around 30-40% if not more. As I said, the LFG etc. that you guys keep making responsible for less subs aint the true reason. The truth is, that people were just jumping over from wow or other MMO´s to get some fresh air and are now probably back in their other MMO again.
  15. Diablo will indeed grab a lot people, Blizz was smart and added the free to play for 1 year there when you buy D3. In that way their subs will "not" suffer that much as these people still count as active then - even tho they are gone. The big issue for BW currently is their position. They have a big playerbase that is very intrested in wow like features, that refuses to play an MMO without them even tho they could easily do that. On the other side you have a big playerbase that left wow because of exactly those features. No matter what BW decides, people will leave. They did at wow, Rift and will at Tor - the question is just which side is actually longer intrested in the game, right now it seems like BW thinks its the wow feature side as LFG and addons are coming or allready in.
  16. Wow is losing a massive amount of subs and it has LFG, Addons etc. To think BW will keep subs by adding those features is "silly". The people that left were bored wow fanboys and they are no real loss anyways.
  17. I think the players do, actually. The constant whine after features of wow, kill the game more and more. LFG, Addons are just poison for any game and its proven that fact once more. As soon dps meters went live, the people did once again act elitist and players must max their dps to be allowed in group content. Again the pointless battles of "he does x amount of dps with his class, but mine does only y amount - nerf needed" are bad. Once the LFG goes live, the game will suffer like wow did. BW is listening to those wow players who just want a break until the Panda´s come and will "piss off" those loyal customers by implementing these things. At release the game was great, yes the graphics could be a bit better especially new pc´s run with 100fps and there is a lot space, also the ranked Wz´s are still missing - but honest all this aint as much a threat as the constant whine of these wow players here at the forums.
  18. At vanilla we had a lot open pvp, you made pvp ranks with that btw. I made it to 11 if I recall right, later with the BG´s you did usually attack the pvp entrance of Warsong, along with XR. It was lots of fun, but ya today wow has no open pvp - most people just sit in towns and use the group tools, hardly anyone is actually out in the open world these days
  19. The thing is, a wipe does never happen because of pvp items, missing achivements or something similar but due bad group play. If 1 player has issues with his job, give him another or help him. To kick him out with the excuse of "bad gear" is not helping him at all. I find it very fun tbh, we did down the Raids at wow cata within the first weeks - they were perfectly doable with pvp gear - yet when you play today, you get kicked for exactly that gear which is just 1 tier higher but also pvp Most kicks are of people who just play very poorly and need someone to blame for that. Gear, dps, achivements are easily taken for those blames
  20. If I make a group I look for proper class, for instance I dont run without a healer which is obvious I think - I also look for a nice CC and last but not least the player must suit my playstile and be nice & friendly. Id never kick someone for gear, experience or meters - but the truth is, most people do which is a real shame but thats typical elitist which was brought up at WOTLK wow and carries through every MMO since then.
  21. It does not matter if its xrealm or not, the issue is the lack of influence on your group. Now that addons are falling from the sky like raindrops the doors are open for elitist´s and atleast I dont want these in my groups and they dont want me casual in theirs either. The whole discussion about xrealm or not is pretty much pointless, as the problem is something else. On my realm are people too I would never join a group if they make one, all those I would then get in a LFG tool - pointless.
  22. It does work perfectly fine on my server and many other servers. You join the LFG channel and from then on can always see if someone does make a group. If you lvl an alt and see someone needs a hand at a 50 heroic you can easily swap over. All this aint possible at an LFG tool that you want. In our server wide channel people create groups for pretty much everything, nobody is on the fleet except he wants to trade.
  23. You should just use the LFG tool, lets face it - there is nothing of worth at the Fleet, thats why there are no players around. My server is high - med, but you still would never find a group if you spam a fleet channel - nobody is paying attention there as its not a global channel, like the LFG and most players are at the planets. So just use this one.
  24. Someone that plays 3 MMO´s, is not a casual. OMG Whats next, someone claims to be a casual because he is 18 years old, or older and does need to go shopping once a week besides playing 24/7? I am a casual, a true one - not a fake and the LFG is horrible for my kind. To get into groups with elitist people that demand 20k dps where 10 is sufficent, that demand a 350 GS where 290 is sufficent etc. Also I stopped counting the numerous times that I got into a dungeon where the group was infront of the final boss, again no loot from the first bosses and usually those groups fail big time anyways. A casual cant wait 30 min for a dungeon to pop, there is no time for that. So please, stop pretending you speak for casuals - you just dont. Casuals suffer most by these tools, no real casual would demand such a tool.
  25. Actually I think because of the same reason that Horde was dominating at vanilla. Less people play at that side, so they get more games - play more often together and get better rewards faster. On my server we have a premade that keeps dominating the whole empire, it seems like only those 10-12 players queue up - very rare to see someone else...
