  1. lolol guys you'll never guess... i just had a few games where i had multiple sin's on my team... it felt nice to win a couple in a row for a change xD
  2. All day it's been pub-side premades and my imperial compadres are either in pve gear or don't know how to survive any amount of burst... It's frustrating to lose rating over and over when i do well in 90% of the matches and, honestly, the matches are either decide by shadow heavy teams or premades... It's honestly pathetic and the consistently poor match making is pretty much just hilarious at this point. maybe no one is queuing on my server so i get put with the same people VS the same people over and over but when those same people constantly do 0-10k dmg per round(as dps) vs a team who is coordinated with teamspeak, I lose all interest... sigh dis pvp schpeal is getting old... the only day with consistent Ranked pops ends up being completely unbalanced in pretty much every way possible... sadness T_T
  3. Expertise caps out at a full set-piece PLUS 2 expertise crystals. You will have 2018 expertise, which translates to +60% player damage done, -37.5% damage taken and +20% healing done. While my Op sits at great mix of full pvp gear, my marauder is still only 4 pvp pieces and while bolster gets me to 1200+ expertise it still hurts when i don't have a healer.... As far as what stat to prioritize... I do power in every slot available, any time that i can. I wouldn't get rid of ALL my crit(probably leave just under 150 rating or so) but we work off of a couple auto-crits, plus the flat 5% crit from talents so in pvp non-optimized pvp gear i have almost 27%(+ the 5% extra!) so i need to tone it down... i would remove as much crit as possible. Stop pumping up surge at around 75-76% and when you get to Dark Reaver you'll eventually ahve enough surge and can replace a few pieces with an alacrity piece(I currently have 3.13% alac, shiv CD is 5.8 sec). Accuracy is worthless for us in PvP. Oh and if you have your companion affection bonuses, those 1% stat increases are not effected by DR and are smacked on top of your stats like a delicious cherry on a sundae, impeded by nothing!(so 77% surge is feasible until you hit Dark Reaver gear and start swapping enhancements) edit - and as far as the legendary power vs mainstat augment discussion... Going full power Aug's grants you ~17 extra power where the 14 Cunning augs will give you ~1.4% extra crit from your main-stat-DR(which might mean it's more worth it per point, your call). It makes power better because every hit is harder isntead of a 1.4% extra chance for it to hit harder. Personally this just means you get more out of the little amounts of crit rating you have and power never DR's. It's all up to you though, there is no right answer. I use full Power augs in all of my gear and have hit 3.7k sustained dps in 186/192 gear as concealment on UnderLurker(for reference, the augs have such a small variation on your damage... like .4% dps increase). Switching those crit/accuracy mods/enhances will be a far larget dps increase. dump out as much crit as possible, you'llk now when to stop when you start losing 2% per enhancement.... ouchies! critting is still fun
  4. if you're not going to go up to dark reaver(you can turn warzone comms into Ranked comms at the 30:10 ratio(I buy 90 ranked at a time, costs me 270 reg wz comms) then the basic idea is to buy the mods you need for your bracers and such and then just buy the main-5 piece that has the best mod/enhance spread that you like... Say you wanna get rid of crit but keep the surge? buy the power/surge chestpiece and rip out the mods for the other pieces you want to max out. Eventually you'll get enough surge that you can throw in a piece of alacrity gear or something but that'll probably only happen when you get to dark reaver. You should totally save up ranked comms for the Dark Reaver Blaster Rifle though, the damage increase is really quite nice.
  5. Something that i've noticed most operatives doing on my server is attempting to just run up to someone and open up. There are certain tactics that were not explained here that should be taken into account by every Op/Scou that plays. - Effective Stealth Area -- You barely have a 5m radius around yourself that people can not see you. Imagine a little circle around yourself at all times and you will eventually learn how close you can get to a player without getting seen, caught, Intimidating Roar'd, etc. Sneak will increase your stealth level but relying on it AFTER someone has seen you will not always help. If you see another stealther or realize that you're caught you need to roll to safety AS you pop sneak. Rolling up to an enemy is usually your best option, do not be afraid to use ONE CHARGE to gain the distance and surprise an opponent without fearing that your stealth will be broken early. This brings me to my next point... - Rolling + X -- X in this scenario is anything you can do off the GCD. My main point pertains to protecting yourself with roll AS you pop other CDs or thing that can save your butt. -- Rolling + Cloaking Screen When you cloak away you need to be able to roll or you will just have wasted your ONLY defensive cooldown of merit. When you cloak with your Heroic Utility Skill(Evasive Cloak for Ops) you get a free cleanse/purge of ALL debuffs(Except for electro-net, NOTHING works on that stupid move...).... This is awesome, it allows us to escape when we are riddles with DoTs and an incoming Explosive Dart detonation. But if we just stealth and sit there we will get Lightning Storms, Detection Probe'd, etc. into vision before your free evasion from cloaking screen is even gone.... Again, DO NOT cloak unless you can also roll. You must train yourself to press these 2 buttons at the same time basically. Maybe even roll before you cloak by a fraction of a second but they can be done simultaneously. -- Rolling + anything else -- The other useful things you can do while Rolling is to use a med pac, Shield Probe, Sneak, Adrenaline probe or Stim Booster but those aren't nearly as important as the cloak. All those can be done off the gcd just don't use a med pac while you're stealthed.... - Rolling Tactics -- You get 2 rolls and as the OP posted you don't have to use them all at the same time. That cooldown buff is something to keep an eye on BUT you should never save your roll because the 'cooldown buff is almost gone and then i can roll twice!', that extra one second or the explosive dart that's on you will make you wish you had just rolled to safety and stopped all that damage. Rolling in the same direction to distance yourself farther usually backfires so try to switch it up and if you HAVE to roll back-to-back then you should change directions for roll 2 and either go back to your start point when against Jumpers or to the side to hide behind and obstacle vs ranged. A neat trick i learned is that if you change the camera angle while holding left-click you will roll in that direction instead of the one you're facing... use this to juke people without changing your direction. If you're a keyboard turner then the operative is not the class for you. - Last thoughts -- As others have stated you need to focus heavily on objectives and game-changing plays instead of damage. You'll never be top numbers and sometimes you'll need to cloak to safety and hang back while all your friends die, just so you can Flash Bang into the crowd that's about to take your pylon... People will ***** at you for not helping but not losing the warzone is more important than somebody's ego. Focus on positioning, prioritizing targets(Sorc, sniper, op, merc and mara before other classes) and remember that you have a 30m blaster rifle that does WHITE damage... you'll be doing ok. You'll still get teleported back-in-time by a root AFTER you roll but it's ok, we've been **** on since 1.1 and we're still making bigger plays than any other class. Keep loving the operative, it's the best class in the whole damn game.
  6. Power vs Main stat is a little different but not much.... Power gives .23 damage per point. That is flat and you will never see diminishing returns on Power. Main Stat gives .20 damage per point and a marginal crit rating. If you were to put 14 Willpower augs in your gear you would have about 1.4-1.5% extra crit. The DR for crit rating may not impede the Main stat crit DR but there is a rule of thumb here.... If you have 1-2 abilities that run on an auto-crit timer(Marauder smash, Operative 6-piece damage or 2 piece operative healer set, etc) the you can effectively ignore ALL crit rating. That doesn't mean take 100% of it out of your gear but if you hit ~22-23% crit with the Agent buff then you should be right as rain. This will allow you to put more points into surge(which will only start to be very un-worth-it at around 74%) and alacrity which will help your damage more than crit(by a LONG SHOT) Basically auto-crits and reliance on crits will influence your choice a lot but MOST classes can run full power augments and come out on top. You get 17 extra damage for 14 power augs vs 1.4% extra crit for 14 main stat augs. The difference is minimal for augments BUT min-max you gear with power wherever you can and those auto-crits will hurt more and so will everything else. Also with the loss of ALL main stat buffers in talent trees, the only one that remains is the Sorcerer buff and that's factored into the 1.4% crit. You still get more out of power.
  7. Just a quick thing about [Honored Adept's Shroud] from the Contraband Resale Association and it's hood. It clips with most of the headgear i'm interested in wearing with it but i will only mention the main one since that's all i can remember right now. [Dark Reaver Field Medic's Headgear] or it's PvE counterparts have a bit showing up thru the top of the hood. If fixed i would be happy and it would allow me to look bad ***. Thanks for your time
  8. Yep you won't top the charts cuz you can't spam lightning storm. Just focus on objectives, taking out healers and doing your sneaky thing. Numbers will never be your friend and you'll be hard pressed to earn MVPs but op pvp is super fun if you just don't look at your damage with high expectations after each fight.
  9. Healing as op/scou is a tough street... There are a couple things that always go into raiding. 1) Buffs. You need to bring a 198 stat purple stim with out. They last 8 hours so log out when you're done if you're just gonna sit around in fleet afterwards. 2) Augments. If you want to do the content as a healer you NEED power augments. I'm not joking, you will fail as a healer without augments in the raids that are currently out, especially if you're not in full 186 which brings me to my next point.... 3) Gear. If you don't have 10-12 pieces of 186 gear then you probably shouldn't be raiding yet, much less trying to heal a raid. 4) Fight knowledge. There are plenty of resources on dulfy that show you the fights and to be prepared for. 5) Rotation. Your heals won't do as much as a sorc or merc healer but that's not what the class is about. Keep dots up on main tanks and try to throw out your TA proc heal(kolto infusion for op) on CD if you can. You'll never heal for as much but it's constant healing and sometimes the people who lead raids forget that you need that sometimes. All in all, keep your chin up and keep trying. If you heal well and people don't die then you'll do fine in raids. If people are dying and it's not your fault then you don't want to be in that raid anyway.
  10. While i agree that Lethality has it worse than the rest with no way to get out of Dodge, it's extremely frustrating to play a Concealment operative right now too. If rolling is our best friend, why do i constantly get teleported back in time and stun locked after using Counter-measures and rolling across the screen. Roll could be on cooldown, i could just have the semi-cd buff but still it got used and either way i'm stuck back in the hot-zone i just tried to get out of where i either use my Escape to try and run or get locked down some more... all of this after i ALREADY ROLLED AWAY... It'll happen with warrior charges or tow-cables but always in the middle of my roll. And to those who say "well you lagged, it never happened" then why is it on cd? If you're locked in place and can't use it, the move stays grey. I should die with it still grey if it never happened. If it did happen then i deserve to end up in my new location and perhaps get rooted there(except i have 100% immunity for 1.5 sec after 'activating' my roll)... Aside from us needing a form of CC immunity tacked into our Utility skills(I suggest making Countermeasures make us immune to CC for 2-3 sec after successfully breaking an immobilizing effect), we need our only real defensive and relocation ability to FUNCTION PROPERLY. It's important that if you put something that says that you dodge or resist all incoming attacks that it actually does give you 100% chance to resist or dodge all incoming attacks UPON ACTIVATION, which means i should never get teleported backwards after successfully completing a roll. The immunity ability works for Sins so please BW fix our dodge/resist to work properly when we roll. It's especially big when it's tied to our relocation tool that could for some reason leave us high and dry for the enemy with our already weak defenses, instead of, you know, relocating us... We rely heavily on our ability to out play our opponents and when those outplay abilities malfunction or don't function at all, it hurts a little bit more since we're already so low on the totem pole in the grand scheme of things. end rant... sorry everyone lol.
  11. This is also what i do. If i have to move around a lot i do concealment and my DPS doesn't seem to suffer. Having movespeed on Sneak and immunity on rolls is HUGE for fights that constantly reposition the raiders. Underlurker is my best example, switching to those adds is much easier without set-up time. I like Lethality for long fights that don't have me moving to adds but honestly, i've been running Concealment 95% of the time and my DPS is unchanged vs Lethality. If our DoTs ticked harder or if they could be refreshed by Toxic Shot or something i would be happy but it doesn't appeal currently, especially since DPS isn't any different for me. Concealment is still #1 for leveling and PvP. Roll immunity and burst dmg all the way.
  12. my point is about the practicality. If you have to open up flame throwers, shoot rockets from your arm and such then you'll need a hand free. Seeing how not every BH is as good as Boba BUT the BH class in this game is definitely modeled after boba, it would be silly to figure out how to give BH a rifle and something else in the OH to make up for the stats. and it's canon as many BH that would use a rifle apparently it's not very practical is it... not when you're chock full of mando armor. The others are just guys who hunt bounties or robots but if BH's are to be based off of mando's.... the pistols are a good choice since we can't mod our own rifles to be MH/OH =(
  13. correct. the knife is for aesthetics(ha) and stats only, the weapon damage of the item does NOT affect the damage of Shiv/VS, Lethal Strike, Backstab or Sever Tendon, only the Tech Power on the item matters. The bonus damage on the main hand will matter much more.
  14. a rifle requires the use of 2 hands, if you shorten the barrel then it's not a rifle anymore(sort of) because it's now one handed. Even in the case of a sawed-off shotgun, you still need 2 hands for that(most of the time) so its still a shotgun in that respect. I see all the points about the carbine blaster but it's size makes it a pistol. A desert eagle is a huge pistol but it's still a pistol because it's one-handed. Personally, operatives need the rifle... if i couldn't shoot somebody from across the room i'd be a sad panda. A pistol would be ok but you wouldn't see me using it.
  15. The ones i have to have are Counter-measures removing roots, the Escape -30 cd, the Cloak -30 cd and the -15 to debilitate. The others are up in the air but having the 3sec root can really secure a solo kill well for you but if not, having cloaking screen break effects can be nice(assuming they count that as "acitivating evasion" as our Preparedness passive tells us... taking time off evasion is good too(row 3) and in row 1 i go with 30% AoE redux and 15% speed/stealth 95% of the time.
  16. accuracy should be 100%/110%(yellow)... you can get that having 5 pieces of 186 accuracy gear plus 5x accuracy augments with only .12% extra accuracy. That number will change with 192 gear and so on, so you'll be able to re-augment things eventually. 75% surge and 25% crit is pretty standard, that will do fine.
  17. The complete specific [Weekly] operation quest never completed... How can i do a [Weekly] quest more than once? Therefore it is not repeatable.... It should show up as 1/1 for doing Story Mode Dread Fortress. I still had 0/1 after being locked out and turning in the weekly operation quest for DF.... as for repeatable quests showing up as 0/1, that's silly... it should show that you've actually gotten objective points for that conquest and then say "Unlimited Repeatable" or something, still showing that you've gotten credit for it. or perhaps keeping tally of the amount of times you've finished it. It'd be nice to compare my points to the math that is supposed to be behind the points.
  18. Aaaaaand just like i thought, my guild was bumped off of the Conquest list with under an hour left... we lost by about 30k points and man, if i had been awarded rewards for all of those Operations and Warzones I did(with the 2x Section X bonus) then i bet i would have gotten my guild the engineering plans they deserved plus some jawa parts for me. This is a fun idea but if i continue to get ripped off for points that i won fair-and-square AND THEN LOSE REWARDS because someone didn't code properly then something needs to be done to make up for it. My guild would have won fair and square if everything was working properly. A cool system like this needs to function properly. If you guys can't make a system work like it's intended then don't bother releasing it, haven't you learned that from the release of this game from back in the day?
  19. I did both Dread Palace and Dread Fortress this week, which should net me around 16k extra conquest points for my guild, plus the 5-6 guildies that were a part of those runs(incase they didn't get credit either for whatever reason...), but my conquest still shows me 0/1 for both operations... also i've been PvP'ing all night and i still have yet to complete the Warzone conquest quests apparently.... including the weekly turn in i did the other day. On the note of Operative, there is a slow that Bounty Hunters throw out... It has 3 orbs floating around you and little tendrils slow you down. The bug is that there is no way to get rid of this at all. Escape will not get rid of it. Utility Counter-measures will not get rid of it. Toxic Scan doesn't remove DoT's anymore(which is a poor decision) but it should still remove a cleanse-able Tech effect like "electro-net" if that's what the move is. Maybe it's really a BH bug but if this electro-net is a slowing ability i should be able to cleanse or purge it somehow, it's a slow just like any other. I can't roll with it on, which is the biggest issue here. If i go through all 3 options and am still left stuck, it leaves a pretty sour taste in my mouth. Maybe have Counter-measure always break movement-impairs and give you a small 2-3 sec CC immunity when you use it? That's for another thread perhaps... Hope these are addressed, i'd be sad if i woke up and lost Conquest by a couple thousand points(which is currently a major possibility) because of quests that i did and got no credit for(or so the Conquest tab says).
  20. When did you ever see boba with a rifle? anytime he did things with a blaster it was with his hip-pistol... he didn't pull out a rifle once in the movies, i can't attest for his solo time however. Django(lol) fett used a pistol too, same spot right on his hip. Pistols make the most sense for BH because they need a free hand for their gadgets. Ops only need to pick up their knife and not fire the rifle at the same time, it's a perfect fit! I only think the BH could benefit from the scatter gun as an offhand or something instead of double pistols, that's my only thought there.
  21. Method A is preferred honestly. Carbine burst is useless and there's no real definition of where the cone is... it seems very shallow and misses despite me being at 100% accuracy... however, putting it on explosive probe would be me a reason to use it in a rotation... spamming corrosive dart is dumb, if i'm supposed to be the king of dot damage then why is it nearly impossible to spread one of my main sources of damage.... Ops are better than they used to be but they still need work and idk if the new "skill tree" system fixed things enough lol. It's ok i guess...
  22. It's good to know that you guys are paying closer attention than the olden days. It proves just how far this game has come... I do agree with most people that there should be some slight reward to those who didn't use the exploit, a 'real' thank you for not hindering the devs.... i don't apply for that reward since i didn't know it existed before today but plenty of people did and plenty deserve a little something for being good samaritans.
  23. personally, i feel that i laughed far too hard at that question/answer. That should be looked into immediately rofl.
  24. They did... read the part about the sith pureblood smuggler... Taking the time to point out facts that people could read elsewhere, instead of taking more important amounts of time to talk about actual game breaking information/changes. and they talked about mandalorian titles and the timeline garbage to fluff up their hollow Q&A. Then started a discussion thread and are currently sitting back with popcorn/sodas with their feet kicked up.
  25. That's what i've been doing for months dude, you don't think i know what's going on inside the heads of all the different classes? i've played a high level sorc myself and i couldn't have felt more overpowered as a healer. It was just silly, and every sorc i knew worth their mettle said the same exact thing. Full Battlemaster'd War Hero sorcs going to play other characters and realizing they have to actually try. But oh yea i forgot, being able to grind out wz's for a ranking system continually makes all players more skilled at the same time... doi! If you can't, on your sorc/sage, successfully shake a marauder with things like overload-non-resolve-root, shield, speed away, jolt, 3x guaranteed heal crits and even force slow then i guess you deserve to be killed by one because you actually had a pretty good fighting chance... Plus they put a 20% healing reduction debuff on you if they were any good... Now step into the operatives shoes and say the same thing about defensive cd's... Evasion is buggy at worst, barely effective at best. Cloaking screen works most of the time, but has to use evasion at the same time to guarantee escape when you have DoTs on you. Shield probe is on a 45 sec cd and shield EITHER a base % of the inc damage or a flat amount then stops, but is still a decent cd i just wish it was more descriptive. Debilitate is great, 30-45 sec cd but adds like 4 resolve bars. Flashbang is broken by everyone around you but is still helpful in controlled situations. So to recap, sorcs get to overload/bubble/speed away every 20 sec while operatives get to cloak(plus evasion)/shield/Debilitate every 2min/45sec/30-45 sec. There's not a set of tricks to getting away other than surviving until you can't anymore, then cloaking and running off with time to live... but sorcs are having trouble with their stun-speed-off-heal-up tactics... Now someone will come along with the whole "two separate classes" shmeal and that's fine because they are different classes but i wanna see the day when an operative can shake my marauder like a sorc could. Also, if it feels like every dps spec out there is trying to make it so sorcs/sages are easier to kill, then you've got a good eye. Why wouldn't every other class try and combat the most powerful/played class in the game as well as they can, since they'll be facing it for more than 50% of their PvP life... But seriously, the number of defensive cd's PLUS the length of ability cooldowns is clearly favored in one glow-sticky direction. But again, the real issue here is that changes aren't being properly explained(if they're being explained at all). That's what needs to happen... better customer service and a regard for explaining real issues, not tangents about chair-to-keyboard operating malfunctions lol...
