  1. If you want a lock-down opener you need to have the Utility that gives your Backstab from stealth a 3 sec root and then use this when you open... Backstab -> Vol Sub -> Crippling Slice -> Veiled Strike -> Lac -> Lac - Stim Boost -> Lac -> Debilitate(if you want a long combo, or you could wait to bait out something else) -> Veiled Strike -> Lac.... mix it up from there but that opener can get you 7 to 11 sec of burst time when you open on someone. I usually save debilitate for a little later or after they try to run and i follow with a roll but the CD is so short it's fine to use early. As for stat allocation... once i hit dark reaver gear i started work 3-4% alacrity into my stat pool but i sit at about 24-26% crit and i try to keep surge around 74-75% too. The alacrity really helps with getting more burst out in that 7-11 sec lockdown window but like i said, worry about other things first. I bought the Medic knife and one piece of set medic gear(helm for me) to get alacrity that way. Some dark reaver pieces for dps have alacrity too but 3-4% is where i stopped, surge is too important.
  2. lol so what's the difference if you take 15 sec off CM to give you 4-6 sec of immunity... instead of making the 3sec of evasion give you immunity? the difference is you're proposing giving double the up-time with half the cd... and all 3-4 of our root breakers can still end up with rubber banding. It's just worse with warriors than it is with other classes.
  3. Force roots? those break just fine with all 3 of our escapes... I don't necessarily need to prevent roots with Evasion but i want to be freed from them when i use my escapes... If i have to go thru 3 escapes and i'm still rooted, there's a serious problem... Evasion breaks force roots just like CMeasures does... CM is fine on a 45 sec cd honestly, i just want some reassurance that when i break a root i won't be re-rooted in the spot i just rolled away from... Roots are the problem not the classes... But honestly, jugs are the hardest to fight right now. sins/sorcs are in a pretty good place vs ops.
  4. Breaking roots honestly isn't the issue, it's the fact that roots can be reapplied so consecutively... This may be more of a PvP balance issue where roots get their own bar or whatever... To fix it quickly, Evasion should give us immunity to roots for the duration, something to make it more viable than just a cleanse or to time vs a ravage... Nothing is worse than completing a roll, only to get locked down in place back where you came from. Should be a bit of help on the operative's side there, if you get the roll off you should at least be rooted at the end of the roll(or not at all if you're concealment, since you're immune) not warped backwards in time to get rooted where you left, with exfiltrate on CD despite losing the distance
  5. i generally pick the defense talents at the top, still getting the 15 sec of stun for pvp. IN the middle is tough. Root break is a must but deciding whether advanced cloak or extra energy restore is more worth it..... I usually go with cloak. At the bottom i like to go with extra shield % or the cdr on escape/shield/smuggle... One of those 2 and then i go for the reduced cooldown on evasion, getting attacked all the time gets your dodge ability up very quickly again. I don't use that one unless i'm healing personally. Makes the most difference when being targetted by snipers/mara and the like

Yes and i'd still prefer to have the upper hand vs stealhers while i'm taking/guarding a node rather than relying on a speed boost that isn't always there and doesn't help you catch up to someone at all unless you were already on top of them. Eventually they could just wait til your VS boost goes away and roll/speed away then, i do it everytime i see an op zipping around constantly... just wait for the speed to expire and get your distance.
  7. absolutely, some healers are so good that you can take over 30 sec to kill them so having debil as an early interrupt then as a finisher after sorc bubble wears off is extremely helpful. I also recommend the 30% area damage reduction over the 5% dmg reduction, Force storm is everywhere! It depends on your playstyle tho. As for the stealth level vs hit and run, its not about getting caught by regs, it's about getting caught by other stealthies. If you want to beat them you'd better be sure you get the first hit in and not the other way around. As for not being able to catch the target with the 15%... Well if you can't catch them without using sever tendon or rolling, how are you supposed to get to the 4m to use veiled strike to get your speed buff? You're relying on the fact that you've recently hit that person with VS to have the buff, which doesn't matter if they get away from you before hand. I played with Hit and Run for a while and i'm happy to say that i'm glad i don't rely on it since if you're close enough for VS then it's a dice roll as to whether they sit in place for 3 seconds or they decide that THAT is the time to run, falling into your plan perfectly. I just like 'always' vs 'if i get my rotation'. If you're already chasing them, chances are you didn't get your rotation off(maybe you got stunned) or you were delaying VS to get the most out of the speed buff or something. Idk i just don't like relying on that personally.
  8. You don't take it for the 15% ms(although it's nice), you take it for the extra stealth levels so you can challenge nodes and get closer to enemies without being detected. Sprint bonus all the time vs a bonus if you're in range to Veiled Strike... I'm not a huge fan of situational bonuses like that. Although hit and run is nice for arena, where you're less worried about being caught out at a node.
  9. a little more testing and it seems that this only happens when i use Force Storm while Chain Lightning is on CD. If it's not on CD, i get the proc just like normal with the instant cast. If it's on CD then i get the CD back but no instant. Also, i have 25% damage added to force storm in skill points. edit - even more discoveries!! It seems that this is only happening because i use an ability action queue timer... not sure about the other duration but i use one of 1 sec. When i Q up Force Storm before Chain lightning completes its cast i get the CD back but no proc. If i wait til i see Chain Lightning finish casting THEN cast Force Storm, i get the CD back AND the instant cast... Kinda weird.... On a side note, lighting Strike will still activate the proc even if i clip that Q as early as i can. I get no change whether i use LStrike before or after Chain Lightning has finished casting. Hope this helps!
  10. Evasive imperative is nice, i run that one in PvE but it doesn't work on damage taken, it works on attacks recieved. If you're not getting focused it's a waste and if you're getting focused then you need to cloak and reassess the situation imo. Still not a good enough reason to give up my 7 sec of mostly-guaranteed rotation or the free evasion every time i cloak.

Hi there i have a lvl 19 sorc and after the patch this tuesday i've noticed that when i use Chain lightning as an opener and then i use Force storm right after, i'll get a glitch about 50% of the time... possibly more. When the first tick of Force Storm goes off Chain Lightning will come off CD, the icon will glow yellow and then immediately go dim and i will lose the instant cast. no changes to my console or hardware have been made since the patch this tuesday so the issue must be with the recent changes. Lightning Storm still procs perfectly with Lightning Strike, no problems there.

I grab the cdr on Cloak, Countermeasures root break, 3 sec snare on opener and the auto-evasion on Cloak. The top 3 are really up to you but 15% speed and 15 sec of debilitate are pretty crucial. I could see using sever tendon root if i wasn't constantly rooted myself and i'd love the get a free TA from sever tendon or something like that but i need to be able to complete my opening 7 seconds and i need to be able to use evasion separately from cloak sometimes.. As far as i'm concerned the bottom 4 are staple. perhaps you could switch the root out for 30 sec of escape but it's your job to be careful and not wish you had 30 seconds off that cd imo.
  13. Yea i guess it's a coin toss... The sorc buff for one of their moves wasn't in the update even tho it was in the PTS the week or so before hand. We can hope they do this but personally, i hope they do soemthing better for CB.
  14. ah taht makes more sense, didn't realize that it got a chance to crit on every tick from recklessness... k that's bad lol, this is a pretty big change then. much needed. As for the change to Carbine burst, that PTS is from 2 weeks ago. The most recent notes don't include it in there...
  15. i can't find it anywhere in the PTS forums and it's not on the IA class change thread for upcoming changes so again, idk... Cutting the cost and channel time of Storm in half isn't bad.... i guess the snare removal is the huge nerf?
  16. I've seen talk of this and seen zero notes for us getting TA removed from carbine blast... I'd enjoy it more if it were a ground targeted ability with the TA still there... at least it wouldn't be able to miss right in front of me(not even a real 'miss' it just doesn't end up doing anything).... I'll believe it when i see notes Either way i wouldn't say lightning storm is getting a heavy nerf, but its getting tweaked enough to make a difference so that's good.
  17. concealment operative is gonna get the job done the fastest with the safest engages and the most burst. If you choose a sniper i hear marksman is great for leveling as virulence has too much of a ramp up time.
  18. Healer buffs are divided amongst the 3 classes so that you want to take 2 different healers to fights to get all 3 buffs. The individual classes can only have 2 so the proposed change of the fellow above me, giving ops a 3rd raid buff, would be a definite no-go... Lets not push our luck honestly, we haven't gotten touched in idk how many patches and if we get anything it'd better be worth it. And if your raid team isn't letting you get close to the boss to backstab/shiv when you have a break just tell them that if you die it's on you. I don't think any bosses have a full 360 swing auto that's going to one shot you for being too close As for the OP, i like most of the ideas. For Kolto Probe, i would much prefer the second option that you gave at the start. Having Injection refresh the probe would force more operatives to use Injection in a rotation. Tacking this onto Infusion would probably just weigh the heal down and they might have to nerf it somehow... I also like the taking Probe duration to 15 sec, that would give us a little more burst. The proposed set bonus changes are my favorite. It's unbelievably obnoxious to have to try to farm sets from 2 different sets of raids to try and get 2 piece from current and 2-4 piece from the old set... That should never be the case and it should've been changed long ago. I would much rather have Shield Probe get an increase in base shield than a cd redux, freeing up the utility skill at the bottom for something that might be more useful for raiding or allowing you to tack on more shielding with utility. My final request for operative healers is a panic button. There's nothing we can do if our tank gets hit hard and has to be healed fast. Spamming surgical probe isn't enough and i know everybody's been there before... I propose the good ol' Presence of Mind(possibly stuck into the utility tree so lethality/conceal could get off an instant snipe or something?? if not then have it replace Injection in the healing tree and give us back our class heal!!!), allowing us to instantly activate a cast-time ability on perhaps 90-120 sec cd. This would fill us out the best i think but it may not be practical if other changes are to go through. I don't think Op healers are in a terrible place right now but we're bottom of the totem poll for healing HM's and nobody wants to bring an Operative to DPS in a HM in most cases... While i'm happy to see Hatred sins and Lightning sorcs get a taste of the nerf bat, PvP was never really our issue... It's our usefulness in PvE and whether or not guilds want to 'risk' taking operatives to HM fights because, well, sorcs/mercs just do what we do better and no one's really gonna miss 10% raidwide crit on a 5min cd.... We need a little bit of help here. Not much but it's sad when you see people shunning one of the most interesting classes in the game because they can't match numbers with everybody else when the cards are down and you need BiS for raiding.

It's not about how much crit you would get from cunning(DR or anything like that), it's that i don't want more crit at all and power augs give more flat damage even with the % to main stat buffs. I saw the math some time ago(january 2015) that while cunning augs give crit and power, power augs give more damage at the cost of crit. If you desire the extra crit then cunning augs are for you but not wanting extra crit is enough for me to run power augs instead.
  20. The whole point of alacrity is to not worry about it until you can't get your worth out of surge anymore(74-75% without companion bonus).. Then you can get some alac which will help you out. Vstrike gets down to like 5.7 sec, Backstab comes off cooldown sooner too as well as anything else with a cd... And personally i wouldn't say 'you should have Cunning augments' because it's all play style... If you have about 22-24% crit i wouldn't bother with cunning.. you get more flat damage from power augs and that's what i've always used with great success. If i ever need more crit, the Dark Reaver set has plenty of it that'll take too long to farm the alternate mods for, so use those. I won't say that power is absolute over cunning augs, that is for a different thread. However, to say that you need to run cunning is more your personal opinion than fact. Other classes benefit more from Main Stat augs vs Ops.

My bounty hunter is pretty much spike from Cowboy Bebop, my trooper is voiced by the same actress that did fem sheppard from Mass Effect... also I wouldn't trade my operative VA for ANYONE, it's so perfect... This is pretty neat tho... I could see lawrence fishburn being a warrior or something... that'd be cool
  22. agreed on all accounts... today is the 30th and it's only several hours in, why not just say that you're going to end it on the 29th at midnight to save face? When will they learn?! idk it's not the end of the world but this double xp weekend was pretty dumb... Heroes of the Storm is doing a similar thing and it lasted about a week PLUS they told you before it happened... just get it together, all this last minute stuff..... i'm still sad that the gree event wasn't as long as i would've liked but w/e... just something else to ***** about, right?
  23. Well here it is, March 30th and the double xp went away at 3am server time.... doesn't seem right... the xp bonus didn't even start until 7am, at least be consistent... Why be wishy-washy about what your times and dates mean? pretty dumb imo....

  25. That's pretty interesting, i never thought about it like that! PT's being the first thing that comes to mind... As far as that slight lag you can get with GCD clipping, just turn on the ability Q... .75-1 sec or so and you can line up what abilities you want next OR change your mind at the last second by spamming a new key. i usually sit at 70ms and the only time i see that ability delay is when i press shield probe as another ability is queue'd or i mess up my rotation and and either let my target get away from me before the ability goes off or i just don't press the Queue in time. That ability queue may make a huge difference since the server is going to do it as soon as it can and if you play MOBA's you know that the computer can react and perform your task faster than you or i could(relation to pressing A+left click in a MOBA vs R-clicking on the enemy, the computer will fire your auto attack quicker with the A+left-click).
