  1. Then what is the point of you? Today there was a flurry of dev tracker activity that contained nothing. Is that supposed to appease us? Perhaps at this point you should stop using the term "players" and instead use the term "customers" because it's obvious you need to be reminded people are paying for this rapidly disintegrating experience.
  2. Are y'all going to make any good decisions any time soon? Cuz you've given the bad ones a lot of chances lately and it just doesn't seem to be working out.
  3. I'm an old-school gamer and I really like rail shooters like the space missions in this game. I figured (or rather was hoping) that the simplicity of the mission design and the limited options would lead to having several new missions per update. If you're not going to make free-space missions then you should at least be pumping out loads and loads of rail shooters so the few people who do like them don't get bored. I'm very happy about getting 10 more missions. Or rather I will be when they actually make it into the game.
  4. Hit all the ship turrets and fighters the earliest you can possibly target them. Get the ship into the asteroid corridor with full health. Then when it's entering the corridor keep your eyes on the extreme top and bottom of the screen. As the screen moves up and down there will be fighters that will appear right before they get pushed off-screen. Target them in a cluster with missiles (hold down the missile button and swing the cursor over all the fighters that you can and then let go), while firing on as many as you can for the split second you have. Then continue hitting them on the extreme top and bottom of the screen as it moves up and down. The ship is not hitting the asteroids, it's being shot by fighters that are off-screen. By the point it's leaving the asteroid corridor even if it still has a full bar its shields are gone and it's going to start losing health quickly, especially since most fighters will be attacking it from the front before you can target them. Hit the capital ship coming in from the top left as much as you can, and then focus on the fighters while it's off-screen. Once the capital ship is back on screen take out whatever turrets you missed before. Even after its turrets, engines, and shields are gone it can still fire at the little ship, so try to get to that point with it having at least 1/4 health left.
  5. I will definitely make use of more character slots when they're available.
  6. I like having lots of different ways to gain xp because I like playing alts, but hate constantly repeating content. Instead of doing every single thing available every time through (which, although easy enough, results in unendurable boredom) I can choose to do different things with each character and still stay at the correct level for playing through class quests. On top of that, unlockable XP bonuses in 1.3 on the test server let me completely bypass everything except class quests on Dromund Kaas and Coruscant. Skipping the stuff I've already done 6 times was beautiful.
  7. Oh, I wasn't referring to what you said, just covering an overall approach.
  8. The fighters do the most damage because they will sustain fire on the ship, but if you don't take out the capital ship turrets early on, some of them will reappear at the end, doing even more damage. One moment where you can prevent the ship from taking a whole ton of damage is when it's going into the asteroid corridor. The camera will pan quickly, giving you view of fighters attacking the ship for only a moment before they're wailing on it from off-screen. You can hold down the missile button and swing your cursor across them as soon as you see them and wipe out most or all of them before they get a chance to do that.
  9. Even in the single player storylines you find people who turn against their own faction and have to be taken out. You can imagine it this way: a group of rogue Sith lords has taken several large cruisers and their crews in violation of Imperial edict in an attempt to secure a recently discovered source of ancient power. Upon discovering this, the Empire sends forces to stop them. Since the rebel Sith have taken military resources they have agents at their disposal, and they've hired mercenaries to fill out their ranks. Or A republic force led by a Jedi or admiral has taken issue with having his hands tied by bureaucratic red tape and has taken matters into his own hands, risking full scale war by attacking Imperial interests. Sympathizers have joined his cause, causing things to escalate. A secret strike team of Jedi and troopers are sent via smuggler ships to put a stop to the madness. There, you've got some simple, cliched rationale for same-faction fighting.
  10. For playing I like Balmorra, Nar Shadda, Hutta, Tython, Alderaan, and Hoth the best. For scenery/ atmosphere I like Dromund Kaas, Korriban, Alderaan, Hoth, and night time Taris the best. Gotta keep them separate because I've played through Dromund Kaas six times and am sick to death of it, and I didn't like playing through Taris even the first time. If I only had to go to Tatooine for the rakghoul plague event, and never had to level a character through there again I'd be so happy. I hate that planet with a passion.
  11. I'm all about bind to legacy replacing bind on equip. Sending used, unneeded stuff to alts would be great.
  12. Same faction fighting makes total sense for Sith Empire. Sith lords always try to take each other out, agents might need to handle "internal affairs" with a blaster, and bounty hunters are only as loyal as their contract demands. And the Republic isn't as clean, noble, and ideologically pure as they'd like everyone to think either.
  13. One of the aspects of this event that demonstrates how well thought out it is is that being infected causes almost no ill effects in order to allow it to be widespread but not ruin everyone's good time. After a while you die and can just respawn where you left off, with no repair costs. And dying gives you a reward. Literally the only thing I can think of that could be a pain is if you had just used an expensive stim or something that is supposed to last an hour, and then your infection cuts it short. Perhaps there's something I'm not seeing here?
  14. The page is a little weird on my computer screen, particularly with every other post sharing the same colour with the background, and without a clear margin. It's hard to read sometimes. However on my tablet and smartphone it looks fantastic. The huge buttons that are a bit of a pain on my desktop are perfect on a smaller touch screen. It really seems optimized for mobile browsing.
  15. The event has been ridiculously fun. In my opinion it's the best decision Bioware has made since the game went live. I've been really frustrated by some of the 1.2 pvp changes to the point that I threatened (for the first time) unsubbing. All of my friends have already quit, so being able to have fun by myself is paramount. The wz rewards fix and the plague event have changed my mind about dropping the game. Still would like to see something done about ttk but I'm much happier than I was.
  16. Since 1.2 space combat has been wonky for me. There are sound issues on some missions where one channel or the other cuts out, or the sound of the ship's blasters disappears for a while or is muffled like it's underwater. In some missions my ship is confined to a small section of the middle of the screen. I've figured out that barrel rolling in just the right moment can help avoid some objects but not on asteroid field missions where you have to move way to one side. Sometimes this will happen in the middle of a mission but it tends to just start out that way from the beginning. Other times it doesn't happen at all and everything is fine. All missions are starting before they've completely loaded and the first 10-15 seconds take place at super speed to catch up with the timer. If there are enemies to shoot down at the beginning it's impossible to target them. In missions where capital ships appear in the distance right at the beginning, they cross the screen at ridiculous speeds.
  17. The thing that annoys me most is that the legacy ability is tied to heroic moment. I don't see why it's necessary, seeing as the abilities themselves are on 10 minute cooldowns. Maybe if the abilities were more powerful I could see completely disallowing them but the ones we have are not game changers, and they would add some strategy and variation in pvp since you'd have to choose the perfect moment to deploy them. It wouldn't be an overpowered option. Just a little bit of extra fun. As for the rest of the legacy stuff? I like the buffs, unlockable species, and a lot of what's "coming in 1.3." Most of the currently available unlockables are meh. The Legacy system has a ton of potential, so I hope it gets fleshed out a bit better.
  18. I tried pyro for a while after getting sick of arsenal. It was much more fun to play, but I struggled to do half the damage I did with arsenal. So I switched to heals and I think I've found my purpose.
  19. I like the paleness and veins, but the dingy mouth and nose is just too goofy to let stand.
  20. I'm probably a 3/10. I've spent hours studying warzone tactics and strategy, trying various skill builds and gear modifications, and plenty of time practising. But I think I'm fairly talentless. I'm terrible at objectives and prone to panic so I usually just try to keep my team alive until I get focused fired or until my team outruns me since my good heals require me to be stationary. And when there's a better healer I try to let them do the heavy lifting while I draw off people who would rather spend time killing the person shooting green stuff than worrying about the whoever is accomplishing the objectives. I contribute what I can with my limited ability.
  21. And correspondingly the healer won't get credit for your damage. But if the healer makes the kill possible by keeping you alive he or she should get credit for it, too. This is also probably a big part of why. It makes a healer's role more rewarding.
  22. In real life I'm a metal musician. My main is a mercenary. I play a bounty hunter for the same reason I play metal: to have a venue for vacating my cynicism, frustration, and anger without hurting anyone. I feel like the bounty hunter is the natural choice if you want to play the galaxy's biggest scumbag. I generally only play evil and neutral characters in video games and pnp RPGs because being a goody-two-shoes is too much like real life.
