  1. True - the one area where IA seems off is the choice of weapons. The knife makes some sense due to the stealthy nature of the class....but the monster assault blaster we haul around seems...REALLY incongruous. But it's a great class - minor tweaking will keep it near the top of the SW:TOR fun charts.
  2. I see several responses saying "you can't romance Scorpio" - which is probably an indication none of them have raised her affection enough. At one point, she generates an "alien form" to allow herself to better understand "a wider array of physical experiences". Then there's a cut scene...yes, it's not much but the subtext was that your IA was the impetus for her trying "you on for size". It doesn't go a lot further - but it does begin to resemble some weird and slightly creeepy relationship.
  3. Every class has some idiosyncricies. IA is no different - but I love my Operative. I hit 50, did the PvP grind to War Hero and loved it....very different from my BH and you end up approaching the game completely differently. Sure, it's not perfect, but when well played, the class is fun and incredibly deadly.
  4. True...the two truths are that for PvE, gear is overrated at 50. Skill and tactics truly do matter more. PvP DOES require Expertise...so standard gear just doesn't get it done; you're cannon fodder without it. So gear begins to matter there (and rather heavily in ranked matches). And then there are instances - running standards in anything is fine; but the truth is (and this truth may be hard to accept), good gear is needed for Hard Mode. It's just a fact. Someone with 13-14k isn't going to last long against some of the hard mode bosses; if it's just one person in a group, they may be carryable if the remainder are geared and talented - but NO amount of talent will save a group if the entirety of the party is under-geared. Most hard modes are designed with talented people in mind who also have the gear to match (within reason). Standard gear won't get it done in those cases. And people claiming otherwise are likely under-geared and/or have an agenda.
  5. As others have stated quite eloquently, it's not going to happen. Wookies from an armoring standpoint (and voice acting) just don't fit into the world as it's designed and it would be too costly to retrofit now given the hard times they're in. But Kashyyk as a planet for leveling (and wookie quests) would be completely feasible.
  6. How did you beat this guy? He's killing me every time...no matter what strategy I use and what companion, he's destroying my L38 Op.
  7. I'm trying to take him down with my 38 Operative using Kaliyo (though I've tried every companion). At level 37, he seems essentially unbeatable. He either resets midfight (I'm fighting him right where he starts at the beginning of the fight), or he gets down to 25% the unleashes a crit which is insta-kil taking me from 25% health to 0 in one hit. What's the strategy? I've lost probably 15 times to this fool.
  8. Yeah I don't have an issue using missiles...and I can occassionally beat it but the shuttle does suicide probably 3/4 of the time by hitting three asteroids - when that now happens, I just quit the mission then redo until it flies straight and the shuttle doesn't kill itself. The mission is fragged.
  9. I have T5 gear in all slots (and purples in two) and only once in 20 tries have I beaten this. Virtualy every time, the shuttle just slams into asteroids and self destructs. And this is supposed to be a "T1" mission? Is this broken or am I missing something?
  10. Correct from a strategic standpoint. Ops aren't primary tank killers....they should be scanning the battle field for sentinels and sages then moving on from there. But this isn't a strategic discussion; it's a "hold me" session where people vent. So I'll just read on and smile.
  11. Actually it's YOU that has a lot of growing up to do. BTW is your unnamed source a pretend invisible friend who keeps you company wile you wait for your parents to get home? I'm betting it is!
  12. Because not every class can have everything. It's as simple as that. But why any Mercenary would be complaining about not having something is beyond me (considering EVERY other class is begging for us to be nerfed big time). Tracers, the ability to heal, a jetpack, flamethrowers, heatseekers - Merc is the bane of most PVP fights and one of the most fiered opponents in the game when played well. And even for PVE, we're given Mako who heals better than most players. I'm juuuuuust fine with our abilites.
  13. It's a fair question...typically, maintenance windows are 4-7 AM EST in the US (for the larger portion of the IT market) - with comparable times outside the US. Usually, daytime maintenance windows are used when deployment teams worry that a patch/update may require closer oversight and/or response if things don't go according to plan - so, with a game as new as SW:TOR, they're probably just playing it safe.
