  1. Did a server transfer and checkout our 1.3 with 18 days left on sub. I just cancelled auto renew. It's time to let this game go. Crafting? A waste. No improvements and bioware will just hold another event where they give away the crystals I'm trying to sell. World bosses to get schematics and matts, etc... So whats the point? And of course the GTM is too buggy to believe. But the main reason I officially give up? The new Legacy in 1.3 1) Levels required or credits, pick one bioware. 2) I expected to unlock things for my "Legacy", instead its all individual costs for each character. It is counter to the whole concept and just a naked credit sink for things that really are not that great. In fact, nothing in Legacy is actually amazing, other than the costs. At some point you just have to know when what you are playing isn't worth 15 bucks a month. It becomes time to walk away. This is that time. Best of luck all.
  2. Solo content at 50, with auto generating dungeons with different mixes of bad guys each time, with different loot tables. Think torchlight, old diablo... Something to spend the time with until the next big release or till my guild (on a very light population server) can scrape together the people to do something this week. Sure i could do those things on other games, but not with a lightsaber.
  3. One thing I miss is the insanity or"leashless mobs" that let you kite, trains and traps in EQ. And the mixing of high and low levels. Anyone remember,"Someone released the spectres!" or "Giant at the docks! Help!" followed by, "Lvl 42 wizard, OMW to help" It felt vibrant. A few whines later and they put training wheels on the whole genre. Sad. Blizzard banning players who managed to train a dragon to the gates of a city? Heck I cheered those suicidal loons on. It was brilliant. Those things make a world feel alive. Same reason I loved the Rakghoul concept and shook my head at the whiners complaining.
  4. I'd love to see microtransactions as an option. But I think its the "option" that is key. If we have a sub, we should get all content, but allowing some with less time to play (super-casuals) the chance to enjoy the game as much as I do? I'm all for it. You should be too. Let them spend their real money to have that wicked gun, cool mount and floating droid pet. Their extra cash = more devs working on our content without us paying a cent. Truth is, no amount of gear will make someone a better player, just a flashier one. And why should we care about that? Their pretty pixels do not affect our pretty pixels. If super-casuals could buy cool stuff they may not be insta-kills anymore, but they'll still drop if they dont have the chops. However it adds to the pool of players you group with or mow down, and thats not a bad thing at all.
  5. This. I'm struggling with wanting to see the story for my alts but how many times do I have to kill frickin wamp rats? Especially as some planet quest lines require you to run back and forth and back and forth.... /hate tatooine
  6. First, the legal disclaimer: "Warning: Long world event and crafting rant. Requires reading. Do so at your own risk. Skip if not interested. All whining happily ignored. Your mileage may vary. Check theaters for showtimes and ask your doctor if ranting i right for you. Rant does not apply in all states." All done? Good. Here we go. I leveled Artifice. I know, I'm an idiot, but I am a lvl 400 idiot so there is some pride amidst the rubble. I just liked the idea of making hilts and crystals for lghtsabers... its so jedi, you know? However, I was comforted by the fact that I could RE over and over and OVER (arrrrgh) and wind up with a Passel O' Purples I could sell for decent credits. Sure, not slicer credits but credits none-the-less. It's a craft (and in a way they all are) that allows the "slightly" less social "loner types" to make bucks they wont get in raids, albeit slowly. Archeology is not a team sport, you know? Some people in every MMO, really just like to craft and make things for people. Some really only play just to gain levels so they can setup shop. Weird huh? But cool, as casuals can, with effort and time, make a dark Benjamin or two. Personally I spent way too much time and cash, but I can now make any lvl 47 color, any type, all artifact. Made a few bucks. It was OK. Then came the gem vender... Then came freebie Rakghoul gems.... The market dropped out big time. I did get a recipie for one of those indestructable magenta (+41) gems for WAY too much money. But apart from annoying flitting about the galaxy and picking up useless buffs (wait, a snowstorm on which planet is next?) there is the need to kill something I cant solo if I was hopped up on Darth vader's personal force stash. Still, I can find a way, right? Eventually? Maybe make them for free and hope I get a crit and get to keep one? At least make SOME return on my investment... while nuking the market further of course. But why bother? People farmed DNA samples standing in the spacestation and got equal gems aplenty to this overly involved PITA gem quest. Larger guilds farm them anyway (good luck getting your pristine gems). An entire bay of mats, no use to them. This is pretty sithed up. Can you fix artifice BW? If not, can you at least not hurt this particular craft again for the next couple of world events? I mean, I know you want to test the power of your" fully oporational Nerfstation" every now and then, but give crafters a break. I dont want to log in next week and see "BW announces the next World Event, 'Revenge of the Rakghouls Brother!' where you will receive +44 disco-ball laser gems that only cost you standing in a circle for 4 hours!!!. You do these things and then you wonder why your economy is so screwed up? Yoda wept... stop it already. /em picks up roses thrown by adoring crowd "Thank you! Thank you! No no! You are too kind! Thank you!"
  7. If this is a troll, its worthy of 3/10, but 3 bonus points for never cracking character. 6/10! On the off chance you are serious, well I'd say I disprove every point you just made. A handful of happy (and geeky) kids, hot wife that loves me, good career, new truck that tows like a champ and a big blockheaded bulldog. I'm drinking a cup of good cofee and browsing the forums while my client patches. I'm happy AND I love the game! How can that be? Why not? Why is it you can only enjoy a cheap pastime OR "real life"? Why assume that your experience in indicative of all? It is not an automatic "addiction" because someone likes something. Did you feel compelled to log on to the forums to warn others about obsesive computer-related behaviors? Do you not see the irony? Hi pot, this is kettle! Look, I've heard things like this from all sorts of folks since I first received a cheaply printed ruleset in the mail from Gary Gygax. You are right in one regard only, this is not the appropriate pastime for you. I wish you well, and continued luck fishing. Fishing is something you know well... like you just caught me. 3 extra bonus points for being so convincing that I had to write a just-in-case response even knowing it was nonsense. Well played sir! 9/10!
  8. Thats my issue. A "Bind on legacy" item like this should not be duplicated. Do you really think I am going to create a half dozen Jedi counselers? Seriously? C'mon. You should have made (or should now make them) tradeable, sellable or something -- anything. As it is, for me personally this was a a major waste of time for nothing. Each trip to that vender to wind up with the same thing just irritated me more. Don't get me wrong, the plague event was cool, but that one "not well thought out" issue takes the shine off of it for me. /not a wildly happy camper.
  9. Merc, for sure. Similar AOE abilities but more fun. Ignore the idiots overreacting. They are kinda ticked off by 1.2. Can't blame them for that.
  10. Rocket boost cant be used pretty much anywhere? Got it. Can't choose the color on the chest slot that moves to everything else? um...right! Neutral GTN instead on linking them all (fracturing an already anemic trade network)? OK. Legacy items that don't scale? You betcha! Cool ability that my little alts could use limited to every 20 minutes? Ummm... Yeah! Alright! Everything too fracking expensive for the lack of actual use? Sure. Of course by the time I get the credits and the legacy for everything I will have moved on out of boredom but what the heck! Go with it! Its all good! But how, tell me HOW, do you fail on dancing?!? Look, I didn't expect much. I just thought that whenever I danced, my companion would dance. Pretty straightforward, right? Not too hard to figure out. Just have them do what I do (/clubdance 4tw!) whenever I do it. What did I get? A new ability in a UI that already does not have enough slots that has you and your companion do the basic dork dance for a few seconds. Well, so much for ever using that again in my precious button real estate. Why create a new ability at all? Just dance my dance, when I dance it already. Mako needs to /clubdance guys. She's a happening babe. Didn't you know that? Born to Rave, no question. She's into Techno. Don't get me started on the whole "Speeder level change not till 1.3" thing. I might snap. /sigh Dear BW, we need a patch 1.21 with a few things re-done. Like maybe.... almost all of them? Because you know all those things I said at first? How all those things were OK? I was lying to protect your feelings. They are actually not OK either. Sincerely, Me.
  11. I love the idea of the GTN on your spaceship. The current X faction trade houses (yes, they already exist) are pretty far out of the way (Nar Shada for example) and are OK for transfering credits to an alt on the other side, beyond that? No point and it just fractures the market. Now I have something ELSE I have to check on? This is fun? I hope it is just a name issue and the devs make a GTN, for your faction, available on the starship for legacy. Between that and the mailbox, my ship would be sweet. However if they are dead set on the black market being X faction, then ... /meh. I saw what happened with WOW and just cant get excited by that thought. Certainly not enough to pay THAT kind of cash. Call me crazy...

  13. Pardon my ignorwnce, but its going to be neutral? Good lord, why? I just want the GTN on my ship. /sigh
  14. Bah... I group (healer) occasionally, and am in a guild but I generally play alone and like it. As an MMO, its fun to chat, help newbs, and work the GTN. I enjoy that social side of things but PUGs/ops/flashpoints? /meh... I was a high level heavy raiding geek back in the origonal EQ. I've had my fill of it. I already have one job, dont need 2. Now I just want to have fun.
