  1. I am mostly fine with the challenge level right now. Most of the difference in "difficulty" in this game is based on how long it takes to kill an enemy, which is artificial challenge. It's more a test of attention span. Making repeatable content (like dailies and weeklies) and filler content (groups of trash mobs) quicker to complete is just a quality of life upgrade. The one thing I wouldn't mind being more difficult is class and planet story boss fights, even if it's the artificial challenge of lots of hit points. It's anticlimactic to have an npc built up as your hated nemesis and then go down in a handul of gcds. And, not being repeatable on the same character, they're more well suited to be real challenges worth overcoming. You don't fight them over and over again until you have their mechanics memorized and they become attention span-sucking chores you do just to get a reward. Even if you die a lot, once you win it's over.
  2. I have the exact same problem. After the conversation with Lana didn't go anywhere I had a bad feeling, wondering if I mistook what the conversations options were conveying. I tried to reset the chapter but I couldn't find a way to. Even in my log the reset button was grayed out. It's really frustrating. I wish there was a way to fix this because it wasn't a "I didn't get the story I wanted because of my choices" issue, but a "SWTOR interface didn't convey the information to me clearly" one.

  4. Star Wars is not science fiction. It's fantasy in a space setting. I can't remember where, but I recently saw where someone explained the simplest difference between the two. In science fiction, technology as a whole moves forward. Not only are existing technologies improved upon, but brand new, never previously considered technologies emerge. In fantasy, technology goes backward (the once super advanced society is long buried by time and dust) or is stagnant, with the exception of plot-driving engineering accomplishments here and there. In Star Wars technology is stagnant, never again reaching the pinnacle it did under the Rakata Infinite Empire. That's classic fantasy. Also, in Star Wars stuff just works with no explanation. How do repulsorlifts work? Who cares. Then there's the Force, a completely mystical concept that is perhaps the most defining aspect of the IP. With the exception of the spacefaring trappings of science fiction, Star Wars has almost none of its elements.
  5. Leveling alts for story, a little bit of strongholds, lots of time customizing appearances. Not for other players to wow at but for my own sake. PvP'd until 1.3 and then quit forever.
  6. I also don't care about HK-51 enough to spend hours upon hours doing the scanning crap now that everyone has already gotten the parts and I'd be doing it alone. I still have two class stories to finish and I'd rather spend my limited play time per week focusing on that. I also haven't purchased Treek because I don't care enough to spend CC on her. I'm not opposed to difficult content at all, but I like difficult content that I can do by myself. Briefly, when silvers were hitting like a ton of bricks, I was having a blast. The "multiplayer" part of this that I like is an active GTN and a persistent world full of people (and the latter I don't actually care much about, to be perfectly honest.) But when questing I don't want to rely upon or wait on anyone else. I do things at my speed, in my time, unless I'm specifically making a point of helping another player through their missions. My refusal to do hardmodes isn't about the difficulty. It's that I am sort of like George Carlin in that I like people, but from a distance and in small doses. Up close and personal I tend to find them boring, rude, and annoying. And that's why I also don't do Ops. And why I haven't been in a guild since 1.1.
  7. You have the release schedule for the chapters wrong. In October, when the expansion is released, the first nine chapters will be immediately available. Then, starting in January, the remaining seven chapters will be released at a rate of one per month.
  8. I don't usually group with people, due of a combination of disinterest and bad experiences. But if someone is a worse player than me and needs help I'll assist them through their mission as long as I'm not pressed for time. I think I'm a pretty terrible player, but there are people running around who make me look like I should be writing class tutorials. Other players often ignore or make fun of them, and that makes me feel bad.
  9. I'm incredibly stoked for the new expansion. Edge of my seat excited. A lot of what we've heard about it so far are things I had longed for back before 2.0, but thought to myself, "they'll never do that." I still almost can't believe it's happening. And more solo mode flashpoints gets a thumbs up from me, too. That's long overdue. I feel that my playstyle has been vindicated after years of having it denigrated by snotty raiders who think that solo players should simply get out.
  10. Shrug. I don't care enough about HK-51 to do a hardmode.
  11. Been a subscriber since early access, left for a six month stretch due to IRL stuff but otherwise have kept a constant subscription. Have never done any ops, nor any hardmode flashpoints.
  12. 1. I find most of the male PC voices too irritating to live with. The exceptions are Inquisitor, Warrior, and Agent. 2. I used to PVP from early access until 1.3. I spent time researching warzones on youtube, practicing my class, and doing lots of matches for months, but never got any better. I finally quit because I was a drag on everyone else, a crappy healer and a worse DPS. 3. I'm obsessive about character appearance and having a matching mount. I made my Trooper's squad all wear the exact same outfit, and used dyes to colour code them by rank. 4. I love Korriban. I've started new alts just to play it, then deleted them. I also love Dromund Kaas, Hoth, and Voss. 5. I hate Belsavis and Coruscant. I don't like the visual aspect of Makeb. 6. With the exception of the repetitiveness of Chapter 1, I really, really enjoyed the Consular storyline. 7. I don't group up with other people, except under rare circumstances. If someone is really bad or clueless I'll help them complete their missions if I have time. When doing so I let them have all of the loot. After doing so I don't stay in touch. 8. I liked Shadow of Revan. I've enjoyed playing it over and over on my alts. 9. The plain jane, no shoulder protrusions, no weird designs on the back leather look of the Unfettered Trench Coat and Casual Vandal Jacket are awesome. But I would kill for a black shirt underneath instead of a tube top. I feel a little weird with my characters running around in them. 10. I'm here almost exclusively for single player content. The MMO-aspects that I like are just seeing people about and having an active GTN. 11. I like Quinn, Akaavi, Skadge, Tanno, Elara, and Kaliyo. I don't like Torian, Corso, Ashara, or Jaesa. 12. I like the space missions we had at launch, but have done them each about a thousand times so I don't do them anymore unless I'm feeling nostalgic. I don't like GSF at all. 13. I thought strongholds were stupid. Before I realized it I had Dromund Kaas decked out and was obsessing over ceiling decorations. 14. I have never played as a tank, ever. 15. I adore Lana Beniko.
  13. Oh sweet, they're doing an expansion that is everything I want. Subscription continues.
  14. Favourite: Korriban. Occult academy, ghosts, archaeological digs, and ancient artifacts check so many of my boxes. I've made new characters just to play that planet over and over. Others I enjoy are Dromund Kaas, Hoth, and Rishi. Least favourite: Corellia. It's a dull world with too much long-winded travel. Alderaan, Belsavis, and Coruscant are also planets I don't look forward to.
  15. Fun fact: men on the moon predate all video game loading screens.
