  2. If you want to go full tank, like 31 pts in the tanking tree, Shadow is the best and it's not even remotely close. However hybridish specs like Iron Fist Vanguard or Def/Vig guardians can hold their own.
  3. A) LOL you saying what "real" pvp is. Where I come from (DAoC), how you use CC makes or breaks your team. So, for me, REAL PvP is CC. Also, Hat? LoL. B) "Do you really think this game could handle Fraps?" Do you really not notice people posting streams/youtube vids all the time here?

  7. Yes. Because how fun a class is is TOTALLY OBJECTIVE and not up to the individual. If you don't like it, whatever, reroll, I don't give a ****. I have fun topping WZs in damage/kills, and feeling like I'm contributing to my team's wins by bursting down some imps. If you don't have fun with the class (no matter how OMG SUPER LEET you think you are) I don't care. I can't tell you "yes this class is objectively fun" because NOTHING is objectively fun. ETA: I have no idea how relatively fun the class is relative to pre-nerf. My scoundrel is not my first 50, and I didn't even start leveling until after the nerf. Who knows, maybe if I got used to release damage I wouldn't be having fun now, I can't say. What I CAN say is that scrappers are not underpowered, and a well played scrapper is a force to be reckoned with.

  9. I can do it (kill before they can react) when I double tap if I get a little (but not extremely) lucky with crits. Maybe one time in 10 or so w/ double Shoot First, but then again I'm only in ~50% Champ gear. IOW, it's possible.
  10. "they get away from me sometimes" is quite a far cry from "they kill me all the time". I can pretty regularly take down good pvp'ers in full BM gear with my ~50% champ gear. Well, no kidding. Here's a hint: if you find yourself often out of cover in a big group, you need to reevaluate your playstyle. Even in huge 8v8 melees at the doors in voidstar I can escape into stealth pretty reliably. (hint: he who fights and runs away etc etc) I gather you're speaking from your extensive experience testing 1.2?

  12. Or maybe you play a bad operative. I play a Scrapper, and my experience is largely in line with his. I'm absolutely shocked if I'm lower than 3rd on my team in dmg in a WZ, and there is no class i really feel like an underdog against.
  13. Yeah. Hybrid spec is far and away the best sorc/sage dps spec, especially for pvp. It's seriously not even close.
  14. You do realize that the Sorc/Sage dps spec was completely destroyed by 1.2, right?
  15. First, the numbers I cited above are assuming pug is down. Second, pug lasts 45s, you'll find that it is often up from your last fight.
  16. Ok, first, Flechette round shouldn't count, because you should be regenned from that by the time you Shoot First anyways. Energy, at the top tier of regeneration regens 5 per second. The global cooldown is 1.5 seconds. Your ZOMG 50 ENERGY opener (which is really only 32, because you shouldn't be flechette rounding right before you open) uses 3 abilities. If pugnacity isn't up, you regen 22.5 energy during this sequence, for a net energy use of ZOMG 9.5 (24.5 even if you flechette round wrong, which is still 15.5 energy away from dropping into a lower tier.)
  17. A) Scoundrel PvE dps is fine right now, and probably won't go down much post - 1.2, for Scrapper at least. We'll know more when parsers come out (BTW, how the hell anyone can say Scoundrel is 8th rate PvE dps, when there are no hard numbers to compare baffles me.) B) Scoundrel PvE healing is fine (best in the game for HM D7), the biggest problem is recovering from a big setback. If the tank pulls before we have our UH and HoT stacks up, things can get dicey. However, they are giving us literally everything I wanted in 1.2, so I'm happy. The best solution to our biggest problem is just to let the tank know not to pull before he's hotted up. C) I think that we're tied with sorc/sage, and head and shoulders above troopers for pvp healing. As you should know if you do any PvP at all, mobility is king, and we are kings of mobility (especially post-1.2, thank you 3 stacks of UH.)
  18. Oh, you mean the patch where our alpha strike dmg is staying pretty much exactly the same? Oh good. Glad we're on the same page. EDIT: Well, yeah they did take out my 7s stunlock, but that was pretty much a free kill every time I popped it, so that's probably why.
  19. Yeah, I'm sad my 7s stunlock is going away, it was basically a free 1v1 win whenever vanish is up (which, of course, is probably why they took it away). However, the way I currently (mostly) use vanish will be unaffected. There are fungible points in the tree as is to get up to 31 points, so I'm not too worried about that.
  20. No. No it's not. If you're fighting a healer or a tank and you know you're going to be at it for a while, or if you're coming in from range out of stealth for some reason, VS is fine. 2k over 15s is absolutely nothing. Especially when my blaster whip crits for 2.5. Alpha strike dmg is about doing the most damage you can, as fast as you can. If your target is still alive after 15s, your alpha strike didn't work.
  21. Actually with the longer CD on BB now I might move it back to after the 2nd SP / BW (if no UH proc off first SP) for more initial FR uptime Your opener is TERRIBLE alpha because you're wasting a GCD on VS.

  24. Sounds like a personal problem. I have no problems killing from stealth, even in sustained battles in Voidstar. It's a complete shock if I'm lower than 3rd in my team's dmg/kills at the end of any given match (barring something like an alderaan where I'm solo watching a turret that never gets attacked), and I'm not even in full champ gear.
