  1. Now this is just silly. You do realize they increased (non double SF) alpha strike damage, right? And they're adding more dmg to BB (through the new talent) than just the 5% base upgrade. And the spec is more energy-efficient. I really don't think sustained damage will drop much, if at all, and initial burst WENT UP. Oh, and the only class that could reliably come ahead of me by a good margin in dmg in WZs was Sage/Sorc, and their dps spec just got completely destroyed.
  2. You think scoundrel is too hard, so you're going to try a sent? lol you.
  3. I have a 50 scoundrel now, but I didn't start playing until post-nerf, and all I can says is wow. I can get ANY non-BM geared player (with my whole 2 Champ and 1 Columi pieces) to ~20% or so before they come out of stun if my vanish is up (FR - SF - vanish - SF - BW - DK - FR - BB - SP - SP - SP (probably), 13-17k dmg depending on crits). I can't imagine what this was like before the nerf.
  4. By "sith" above, i meant force using classes, since purebloods can only be force users (now). I'd say maybe 25% of THEM are sith, so ~15% of the imperial population (about 1 in 7) which I agree, is a pretty damn generous estimation.
  5. It's because that part of your argument is, frankly, *********** stupid. Ok, let's just run some #s here, tell me if you think I'm way off. Something like 60% of imperial characters are sith, and 60% of a server population are imperial. So right off the bat, you're only looking at abut a third of the server who even has the POTENTIAL to have 50 pureblood. Let's say 25% of those sith are purebloods (an extremely generous assumption, in my experience), and 80% of THOSE are 50. So, being pretty generous, 7% of a server's population has a 50 pureblood. How many of those do you think are going to switch off their mains to roll a sith pureblood on the opposite faction on the same server? 10% or so? You're looking at 1-2% of republic chars being pureblood. In other words, 0-3 on the fleet at any given time on most servers. The numbers for Chiss will be even smaller. The far bigger issue for your immersion will be the starting worlds. However, that will mostly be a novelty thing, so I would simply suggest not rolling a new character for a couple of weeks after the patch hits, if the immersion is that important to you.
  6. As previously noted, this absolutely does NOT indicate that every class is getting a major overhaul.
  7. Um, you're either doing something wrong, or lying. As far as "hitting for 4k again" there's 2 threads on the first page of this forum where people posted vids of Shoot First critting over 5k, multiple times, post nerf. EDIT: Then again, good healers are pretty tough to take down. However if that's the case, you're ignoring the 2 other guys on his team the rest of your team was able to take down because the healer had to put 100% of his resources into keeping himself up.
  8. I'd agree with those who say "wait till 40". Though if you're not finding it enjoyable at all now, it just might not be the class for you. After 40, as scrapper, I feel just absolutely ludicrous in WZs. I haven't been lower than 2nd in the WZ in dmg since I got flechette round, and I'm 1st in 75-80% of them, often outdamaging my closest teammate by 50k+.
  9. Ah yes, only one "heavy" pop server at almost midnight on a Wednesday. Clearly there are huge issues necessitating server merges Edit: Not to mention that we actually have no idea what "Standard" population is, rendering that SS even more meaningless.
  10. actually, about one randomly chosen series of 22 attacks out of 500 will have no crits. Are there more than 500 people opening BM bags? Probably. One guy blanking 22 in a row is bad luck and frustrating for him, sure, but it doesn't mean the system is broken.
  11. This "issue" wasn't an issue like 3 hours ago. I'm pretty sure they actually do plan on telling us stuff, a good amount of time before rated WZs come out. In fact, they probably have a whole big PR rollout planned for next week, or even as early as the QnA tomorrow, detailing things in 1.2 (I strongly suspect we'll be getting the 1.2 notes early next week). Maybe the response from the interview (which people, including the OP in this thread, read WAY too much into) will prompt them to say something sooner, maybe not. The point is, we're not going to be kept in the dark until 1.2 suddenly is released without warning. It is their first major content patch, and I assure you, BW knows a lot is riding on it. There will be whole hosts of info about Ranked WZs, the new WZ, the new FPs/Op, new crafting stuff, etc etc.
  12. I would totally go for a Mordred(DAoC) style server in some game, that was a ton of fun. I was really surprised one wasn't included in WAR. However, don't oversell the appetite for that kind of gameplay. It's certainly not something the majority (or even the majority of PvPers) wants, so putting it on any more than a server or two would be insane.
  13. Where did I say YOU had to be on the PTR? Ranked WZs will be in the PTR patch notes, and will almost certainly have a Dev Post/FAQ go up soon after 1.2 goes on the PTR.
  14. So, a vague quote about something that won't be out for 2+ weeks (something on which we'll get a LOT more information about in the interim) makes you not want to log in?
  15. You're probably right. I bet they won't say anything about it before it gets released to live. We'll have no idea and there won't be 3187540734502 threads about the specifics of it on this very forum 2 minutes after the notes go up on the PTR.
  16. Wait, so, did they actually say you need to register a team for ranked WZs? (like arena teams in WoW)? If not, then put a *********** pug together with all the other solo q'ers, q for ranked and quit ************.
  17. so much this. I started pvp'n on a sage, got 3-6 medals per game, depending on the WZ, and how much dmg i had time to throw out. Switched to an assassin tank, immediately started averaging 8+.
  18. Hey! It meant something. It meant you (or you and the 1-2 other people playing your character during the grind) had WAY more free time than everybody else.
  19. LOL. Ur doin' it wrong. You don't use it out of stealth, that would be stupid. However, imagine something like Shoot First -> Flash Grenade -> Sab. Charge -> XS Freighter
  20. Since forever? It's pretty simple to test, just use one of each stim and look at how much your bonus healing jumps. I guarantee you it will jump more with triage. EDIT: you don't even actually need to do that. The healing bonus tooltip tells you how much is contributed from each stat.
  21. Where did I say "out of combat stealth contributes to in combat survivability"? All I said was stealth lets me get from the spawn to the objective without getting ganked. If you get knocked out of vanish by AE right away, ur doing it wrong. I've gotta think that you're really the one who's unfamiliar with proper timing/spacing in PvP. I mean, yeah, if you vanish from right in front of an assassin, he's going to pop you, but you're stupid for doing that in the first place. Edit: Anyways, all of that ignores the fact that flash grenade is pretty much the greatest thing ever, FAR superior to any knockback. Edit 2: Except in Huttball. Stupid hazards/pit.
  22. Well I addressed healing ability in the post DIRECTLY ABOVE yours, so there's that. Never ever ever ever underestimate how stealth contributes to survivability. You essentially never get jumped running from respawn to a fight. You're also greatly overestimating the effect of force sprint and knockback on survivability. I'll gladly take flash grenade over both (well, when you throw in the shorter timer on stun and faster movement speed and such too).
  23. RE: Adrenals Don't know if this was addressed yet, but they don't do the same thing. Triage adds FORCE/TECH Power, Attack only adds Power. We get more Healing Bonus per point from Force/Tech Power than Power.
  24. ME! Scoundrel is fine. Sage is good, but I've really gotta say if you think scoundrel survivability is significantly less than a sage's, you're not playing the scoundrel very well.
