  1. They committed crimes against humanity for releasing this and are still living in lala land if you look at their interviews.
  2. Probably not but it will save me from wasting anymore time and money on one of the worst projects i have seen.
  3. Rift was great. I don't think anyone could say it wasn't but i think the reason why people left was at many levels it was wow(with some unique aspects). You really have to put something completely different out there i think if you want to be successful and i don't believe anyone will hit as big as wow did. Best you can hope for is have a main player base and carve out a decent sized market that can support you. Eve online is a good example of this. They are older the wow and still kicking. I think GW2 will also end up a very long term project like GW1 has since it does away with many traditional aspects of a MMO.
  4. Like i said. They are not cut out for this line of work. They should make logos or something.
  5. Pull up the weekly overall population graph. http://www.swtorarena.com/statistics/
  6. Truth is the game is peaking at 450k (both EU and U.S. combined) when two weeks ago the daily peaks were at 750k players online. The free month is also not over so most likely we will see another decline once that rolls around. Which is in 2 days. That and Tera just made it official they are launching in the U.S. May 1. Most predict GW2 will also launch around Q2 this year or Q3 at the latest since they are doing closed beta atm. Nobody is interested in a WoW clone from 2004 with no UI customization, no mod support, no LFG, ability delay, engine optimization issues etc etc etc. They can play the real deal for with all those things included minus the problems or if they are looking for something different try tera or GW2. Jeff Strain at Arena Net said it best, “I personally have heard numerous designers and producers working on unreleased MMO projects describe their game in these terms: ‘It’s like WoW, but…’ I just shake my head when I hear this, because the team that is best poised to deliver a successful game that is an evolution of WoW is… well, the WoW team. They’ve got their thing, and they’re good at it. Let’s all carve out our own thing, and be the best at it. Truly great games are made by passionate teams who are on fire with the notion of changing the industry. If you are aiming at a competitor rather than aiming to make something fresh and innovative, you’ve lost.”
  7. Worse is they delayed it to try to address issues and it still resulted in further breaking the game. I think bioware should just stop it is clear they are not cut out for this type of work. Just turn into a graphic design company making logos or something.
  8. The trick is to wait slightly before hitting it. If your used to proper pvping like in WoW or Rift your not going to get that with this game. You have to baby your controls. Sometimes i wonder if bioware released this joke of a game just for the lawls.
  9. This shows that bioware once again has no idea what they are doing. Getting rid of the cooldown slider makes it very difficult to make proper judgement in pvp of what abilities to use when. They really are clueless.
  10. So they finally manage to get AA into the game and it once again shows how poorly optimized this engine is. Not only does my own video cards software do a better job of AA but it has zero artifacting and also looks far better. Honestly how clueless can you people be to outsource a incomplete engine then try to adept it to a MMO. You not only go out and pick a engine that is not properly tested and no credible studio utilized but you don't even try to develop your own. Where exactly are the millions in development costs going ?
  11. So what that means we shouldn't point out the problems ? Most people can't build a car that doesn't mean they shouldn't complain when they buy a new one that is faulty and has transmission trouble. If you want to take it and be happy without question go right ahead.
  12. No the game has serious issues that are not acceptable. This is a game i wouldn't have even done a open beta on. I think many studios would feel the same. The number of bugs that hurt player game play are quite a bit and the engine itself is not optimized to ever go live.
  13. If you look at population statistics there is a steady decline. At launch you had around 750k (not talking about subscribers but people actually coming online to play) people come online for the game. This since slowly decreased to a average of around 450k hence why the servers no longer have heavy or full loads and are standard even at peak hours. 6 months into launch should give people at better idea about the condition of the game. Though expect a sudden drop since the free month is about to run out. I should make clear that these are peak numbers. As in launch peaked 750k online and now the peaks are around 450k.
  14. That game had very little bug wise and almost nothing directly relating to gameplay bugs. Infact at launch i never once thought about bugs. That is what you want in a MMO. Of course certain companies have quality control at the top of production. Bioware isn't one of these.
  15. Knowing some of these fanboys they might even pay them to.
  16. After the free month is over the only people left will be fanboys willing to dump more of their cash into this broken game. Most would have moved to other MMOs or just single player stuff till GW2 and/or Tera are out. Releasing the patch tomorrow allows the whole base to try it. People who are already leaving the game are not going to put another 15$ for another month just to try a patch that simply tries to bring something that is broken to a more playable standard. Reality is reality.
  17. That would make things worse. Many people already cancelled and waiting for their free month to run out. Releasing the patch within the free month allows everyone to try and see if their issues are fixed. However if they release it after that no one that canceled their sub is going resub to try the patch they would have already left.
  18. Going to just go ahead and stop this here. There is no need to discuss this any further when it deteriorates into nonsense. The element of delusion is not something i plan to encounter when debating issues. It makes the likelihood of a proper intellectual discussion difficult.
  19. They are not my opinion they are facts. As in it happened. If they didn't i wouldn't waste time complaining about them. Saying you don't get fps drops in pvp or ability delay is simply a lie or your just arrogant to them which is possible(the only thing that is class specific is some abilities will have a delayed register time or require multiple keypress/clicks). Everyone has it unless you simply don't notice it. Having played high level arena matches in wow and dropping here there is a night and day difference. Warhammer also had ability delay issues (little bit worse then SWTOR mind you but it killed that game fast) It is actually kinda funny i watched a couple starwars movies yesterday and had a urge to pop back into SWTOR. Logged in and hit a pvp match. Which in turn we won but was not counted (guildmates also had this from time to time) and when i went in again and that one we lost the game in turn locked up and crashed. It was almost as if they were trying to get me to stop playing even when i had a urge to. Seems it is working.
  20. Never did this with WOW,Rift,AOC, Eve Online. Still play 2 of those. 3 of them i played at launch and bug issues never crossed my mind (though AOC had them they never actually hurt my gameplay directly minor stuff and wow i never played a launch so i cant speak for it.) I don't set expectations i just like to have fun playing a video game. This not only resulted in the opposite it actually started to annoy me. Warzones not counting wins, proper textures not there, boarding party end boss i think it was would not drop loot (both in regular and then at 50 when i did the hard mode) Ability delay in pvp and much lower FPS. All that hurt my gameplay. Never had those issues with the other MMOs. They just didn't have nonsense like that. This is basic stuff here.
  21. That isn't really surprising these are studios that know how to properly polish a game and make sure it has almost no bugs that directly hurt gameplay at launch. Arenanet has made clear many times they are going to polish this thing to death because their only interest is to make the player go "wow". Bioware on the other hand pushed a broken product out and are now trying to get it to some playable standard. The level of bugs that hurt gameplay are so many that it makes it difficult to play the game even if you want to.
  22. You know if Bioware came out and said "Look we screwed up especially with the textures and we are a studio committed to excellence. This simply fell short of that and we will be extending the free play for another month while we fix issues that should have never went live in the first place. We are truly sorry" That i think would have many stick with the game. They would look at that and understand that Bioware is trying to put its best foot forward. Sadly we never got that. What we got was some run around nonsense and Ohlen saying the texture and performance issues were hurting only a small group of people. That right there is all you need to understand about Bioware's mindset.
  23. Its called not paying for a broken game. It is incredible how many people have their head in the sand and are willing to invest in a inferior product. You know as well as i do RIFT had very little bug wise at launch. Let alone anything that directly hurt game play. I can't speak for wow since i was not there at launch but that would not matter considering Rift had very little bug wise. In fact leveling and playing end game there wasn't one point where i thought about bugs. There are so many bugs here i can't even progress. Bioware should be throwing money at me just to deal with bosses not dropping loot, warzone daily not counting wins, lagging in pvp, ability delay, lack of proper textures. These are things sorted out in alpha/closed beta. Stuff like this shouldn't even make it into open let alone ever live.
  24. We are sorry we picked a crappy engine and do not know how to code. We still call ourselves a game studio though. Even though much smaller studios with limited budgets run circles around us we really do try. We understand the game is not only riddled with bugs many of these directly effect game play and progression. Bear with us while we try to get our act together. You have to understand our standards are much lower and we feel ok pushing out broken products that we try to then to fix over a extensive period while happily taking more of you money. Instead we get this PR nonsense on the front page.
