  1. This is just my opinion of course, but making a forum as specific as Black Talon would probably decrease the likelyhood that questions would get answered. For example, my main is Level 50 -- as such, I would very rarely go to the Black Talon sub-sub-forum you propose, because I've already been there beat that many times. If I did venture in that forum, it would be just to answer other peoples questions. I don't mind answering questions for newer players, but I'm honestly not going out of my way to seek those questions out. With things arranged as they are now, I'm more likely to actually see these questions and answer them...Because as new content is added, I may have a need to go to the flashpoint/ops/heroics forum to look for info for myself. While in that forum, I might see a thread about Black Talon and pop in to answer the question because it's right there. PS -- I agree with you that making super specific forums might make the answers to questions easier to find, but they would decrease the chance of new questions getting answered. You also have to remember that for a significant percentage of forum users, it seems that no matter how many sub-forums you have they will ask their questions in general discussion because then, "More people will see it."
  2. As a healer, I would love to see this added to the game
  3. I would also like to see this feature added
  4. Technically, a third faction type could be added to the game (for a future expansion IMO, not as a regular content update) and could be something along the lines of the Hutt Cartel or the Exchange. As far as adding smugglers and bounty hunters to a third faction, I think that is unfortunately out of the question because they are not the mirror classes of each other. The Empire and the Republic would each lose a class that the other has and I don't think that is the direction the developers want to go with SWTOR. To make the game better: I would personally like to see casino type games open on Nar Shadda, Pod races (either to actually race in or gamble on) on Tatooine, etc. Basically things that pass the time between raids/flashpoints/dailies and get Level 50s to return to lower level planets. Eventually, I would also like to see daily missions for Level 50s added to all the planets (I'm glad they are being added to Correlia in 1.2). This would give variety to the gear grind at 50 and make sure the lower level planets don't fall into disuse.
  5. Not sure if this is exactly what you are looking for or not, but it 1.2 you will be able to bypass orbital stations when traveling to and from planets.
  6. I'll be honest, this is the first Q&A that I was truly disappointed in. Most of the questions had already been answered in some form. Heck, many were answered in the Legacy developer blogs and videos that have been posted this week. I love the Q&A feature and I understand that the questions are typically going to receive answers of "no ETA available" or "soon". I also understand that some of the questions are going to need to be fluff (like Mandolorian titles and slapping Corso from last week). But I really think if the developers are going to pick questions about the new 1.2:Legacy update from the whole forum, then those questions need to be ones that haven't been answered in extremely easily accessible formats before. I will say that I enjoyed the answer about crafting...I would like to see even more info about how the system is going to work in the near future, because some things are still fairly unclear. I also hope that next weeks answers will focus more on how the 1.2 changes are going to affect gameplay and not just more fairly trivial information about the new features the legacy system will bring into play. Lets face it most of the legacy system to date seems to be about making leveling alts easier or what amounts to cosmetic changes (race options for factions that weren't there before). These things are fun, I look forward to them, BUT this does not allay my fears about the other changes 1.2 is going to bring (i.e. how class nerfs, specifically to healers and med packs, are going to affect end game content for both PVP and PVE players).
  7. They said in an earlier Q&A (can't remember which one) that they have plans to add a way to re-custamize at least your characters' hair and makeup in the future, but that no ETA is planned and they aren't yet sure how they are going to go about implementing it. My guess is this feature is at least 4-6 months down the line if not further.
  8. Actually, according to a thread I read recently in General Discussion (I also think it was posted in the role forum) this is not the case. Someone ran the numbers and found that taunts do continue to add threat even if you are at the top of the threat table (whether this a broken mechanic that will be corrected later, they could not say), but as it stands currently taunts do add additional threat regardless of if you have aggro or not. http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=341126
  9. I actually don't think you can make that "final" decision between the two until you are at the end (or at least near the end) of your class s/l as having both plays a part in many of the conversations.
  10. Why you can't bring Andy: I will forever think it is stupid that your SI wasn't able to take as many people with him/her as he/she wanted seeing as how if someone I knew was trying to kill me said come alone, I'd do just the opposite.
  11. Yes....Ashara does not have a skin texture (full body model) beyond her head and hands. If she wears anything that is not long sleaves, long pants/skirt, and reaching her neck she will show up as invisible.
  12. I also helped a friend access the datacron this way. If you are a Bounty Hunter (or have a similar ability) you can use rocket launch on a friend when in duel mode.
  13. For info on the locations of companion vendors see this link: http://www.swtor-spy.com/guides/swtor-companion-appearance-customization/516/
  14. My thoughts exactly. Khem and I took down Thanaton multiple times by ourselves. You need a group of four (or are at least supposed to need a group of 4) to bring down Malgus.
  15. This is normal...It just means you had overleveled the conversation.
  16. No, you will be fine. You will get a conversation where Khem and Zash are struggling for control and Khem basically says "Why did you let this b*$%& weaken me" to which you can reply (if memory serves) something like a) shut up monster b) you were the one who wanted the dang bones in the first place c) Sorry buddy, I'll fix it
  17. I noticed that after my last convo with Khem (when I had used the dialogue options to gain affection) it did not show up when I finished the mission, and this was the actual companion conversations.
  18. I use them all (except the droid)...It's sad but I've grown rather attached to my companions and don't like the idea of leaving them on my ship (or off on crew missions) to rot. When leveling I used Khem or Xalek for all boss encounters or Heroic 2 plus missions. I use Andronikos on trash mobs (especially in the open world) because he takes down things the fastest. I use Ashara for instanced missions that have a lot of silvers, but not necessarily bosses (though I never had trouble completing them with her). And I use Talos whenever I don't feel like seething after every major fight.
  19. She tends to be less squishy than Andronikos, but she is not designed/intended to be a tank. She does not generate aggro the way a tank does and she does not have the survivability either. If you want to run with a tank stick with Khem for now.
  20. You get the option to earn mods/enhancents/armor/hilts for many of your quest rewards...When I was leveling up I typically could upgrade almost all of my armor this way. You also can use your planet commendations to purchase mods/enhancements/armor from the mods commendation vendors. Mods and enhancements are two commendations each and armor/hilts are seven. If you are in a guild you could ask members with the appropriate crew skills to craft you what you want...Or you could craft some yourself depending on what your crew skills are. Maybe try shouting on your server's fleet to see if anyone would be willing to make you what you are looking for. You can inspect the crew skills of near by people/group members as well by right clicking on their pictures. Edit: I think I misunderstood your question, I thought you were level 25 not the mods you were looking for. You can get mods from some of the Belsavis Dailies and the best mods and enhancements currently come from the endgame content. Until 1.2 you aren't really able to craft mods that are as viable for endgame as what you get elseware.
  21. Ashara is lacking a skin texture (it wasn't programmed in)...This is why she appears to be invisible in clothing that doesn't cover everything up.
  22. This is just a guess, but IF it does come out in March, I would think it would be late in the month (probably around the 20th) as that would be the end of the game's first quarter.
  23. Thanks, so far this has been much easier for me to follow
  24. Hi everyone, I'll be really honest -- The math and theory crafting behind stats and gear optimization is totally over my head. I read the threads, but I just never seem to understand what people are talking about. Can someone who is a distant (PVE primarily) sorc healer tell me what stats I should be focusing on increasing with my character and which ones I can leave off. Please use as simple English as possible and as little math as you can. Thanks in advance
