  1. If you want to know how to go forward then perhaps you should, going forward from this point, pay actual attention to feedback given during PTS phases before signing off on changes and implementing a patch. Otherwise you might end up severely damaging your reputation in the immediate run up to the first subscription renewal period after an atrocious launch of a nowhere near finished game. Just a thought.
  2. Aaaaaaah actually can't stop laughing. So glad I unsubbed from this wanktastic game. Bioware, PvP: UR DOIN IT WRONG
  3. I levelled a Jugg to 50 as tank spec using Vette (Ranged DPS, some nice aoe) pretty much exclusively after seeing how long it took to kill stuff when using a healing companion. Sure, you're getting healed but it's taking so long to dps stuff down you're better off just taking the downtime hit after combat finishes and it feels pretty much the same with Kira so far (mid 30s, still tank specced) as a Guardian.
  4. A PvP reward system that rewarded actual quality of play over who can do the most WZs and get lucky with bags. The "lucky bag" system is long as it is, with the added fun of having to grind out the tokens it's just ridiculous. Ability delay fixed across the board and more engaging combat on the whole. I just feel entirely disconnected from every class I have played and it saps the fun out of the game. Removal of companions in Ilum. An actual meaning to world PvP. Yeah sure, there are objectives in Ilum but why am I fighting to control them? What advantage does this give me other than a buff to Valor gain? Streamlining of some of the unneeded fluff like having to run from your ship to the orbital station then get the shuttle down to the ground. It just makes going anywhere a chore. The same applies to things like respeccing: I get a cutscene, then a confirmation box.... I've seen the cutscene once, I know what resetting my talent points does, I'm here because I want to do it.....just let me do it! Sub is due for renewal on the 19th. Unless they show some progression towards fixing issues that are apparent to myself I won't be renewing. Yes, they have said they are working on them, but I'm sensible enough to not pay for promises.
  5. Don't lie. You are of course referring to Earthen Ring, where SW was always empty compared to IF or Og. Mainly because 85% of the population weren't RPers but had enough respect to just let RPers have SW (or UC). The majority of that 85% hung out in either If or Og, which were always very busy in vanilla. The real judge of SWTOR will be in 3 or 6 months time when the hype of release has died down and the sub levels have stabilised. To be entirely honest I should imagine they will level off and then drop steadily until a reasonable plateau is reached. At which point EA will assess if the game is turning enough of a profit to not just put it into maintenance mode.
  6. After tiring of the bag grind on my commando I rolled a Jugg as I had read the comparisons to vanilla WoW tanking (tanked everything up to and including old school Naxx...you know, when it wasn't so easy you could fall asleep on 4H) and I have to say it's a fun class you need to think while playing. However there are some minor changes that could be made. The first being to Guard. Were the 25% threat reduction returned in whole or in part to the tank then managing threat against high dps individuals would be easier. Currently it feels like I'm constantly battling to maintain threat and, while this is fun to a certain extent, it does become a little tiresome after a while. It feels like I have no comfortable advantage when people hit their burst rotations. Secondly, the issue of control versus ranged mobs needs to be addressed. I'm no slouch when it comes to target switching and threat generation, but it does suck a lot of the enjoyment out of the class having to constantly ping pong between ranged targets, especially given that the next target function is so random. Something along the lines of a change to the Force Grip talent, allowing it to either extend the range or added threat generation, would be good. Or adding an increased threat generation mechanic to Saber Throw. The survival cooldowns I'm fine with. They all seem to be pretty nicely synergistic for the most part. However, Invincible could do with some tweaking, given it is supposed to be a "last gasp" oh **** button. I'd even put up with a longer cooldown if the damage reduction was increased. While Jugg tanking isn't easy, it is viable with a great deal of concentration. I do think that is what is putting a lot of people off as they are coming at it from the wrong angle. Saying that, parts of the class do need to be tweaked to give a more fulfilling experience.
  7. Same here, alongside another 4 people in guild.
  8. Great lists of bugs, have experienced pretty much all of them myself alongside quite a few more. If I can find the will to log in for more than 5 minutes today I'll come back and list what else I'm aware of, including an incredibly annoying Trooper graphical bug which bears an uncanny resemblance to a graphical bug which effected Choppas in WAR....
  9. If this is the case, and if it is I stand corrected, then there might actually be a point in Ilum, though without the majority of people being aware of it (nobody in my guild was) I can't see it doing anything to counter the polite swapping for dailies.
  10. No, you really don't. Making open world pvp and pvp servers entirely pointless.
  11. Cancelled about 30 seconds after I entered the reg code and sub details. Endgame PvP is a joke in it's current state and I'll happily vote with my wallet.
  12. "near perfect"? Seriously, I can't even begin to explain why you're wrong because my mother told me not to associate with liars or idiots and you've gone 2 for 2.
  13. But yet you're willing to carry on playing this game of rehashed ideas and poorly implemented features? I have played it and every part of it I experienced was far better than any MMO I have played before (and I've played a hell of a lot since UO many years ago). Compared to GW2, SW:TOR is simplistic, joyless, static and just plain bad. Actually compared to pretty much anything SW:TOR is all of those things but, when compared to GW2, SW:TOR is just a game for fanboys with nothing better to do than watch trite storylines and defend BW wherever possible even though they have released a poor effort. I should imagine subscriptions will plummet on January the 19th, and fall steadily until March/April when they will plummet once again.
  14. "Hutts don't speak gangster" The only bit of dialogue I've read that was actually worth it.
  15. I'm not sure it's that there are a lot of non EU timezone players on ToFN. I know that, as a lot of people have already started their xmas holidays from work etc, a few players in Tainted are actually levelling through the night rather than face the queues during the day. I should imagine that there are others taking the same approach. So the active population on the server never really drops.
  16. Invent time machine. I'm at darkside 4 and look like a homeless clown who had to use mud for make up, if that's any help.
  17. Me too. I love me some small and poorly placed buff/debuff frames, severely limited number of action bars, a quest tracker that won't stay closed and a "oh look I discovered how to do bevel & emboss. Default settings are fine tho" looking UI.
  18. So I'm guessing either Taris or Tatooine? Both zones have some major issues including this freezing on opening the map, plentiful screen tearing and another freeze when dismounting and your companion spawning. I'm running a pretty high end rig, with 12gb of ram and 2 570 GTX, yet when questing in Taris I experienced all of the above and both of my cards were running at around 90C for the duration. Was fine after moving onto the next zone. Logging out wasn't an option unless I wanted to sit in a 3 hour queue and nothing else I did seemed to fix the problem. Guess we just have to wait for Bioware to get round to properly optimising the zones.
  19. 8:30am GMT: Signed in to set up crew skill queue lists on 3 characters and already 738 people in the queue. Yet every other server I can see while waiting is either "light" or "standard". To the people saying that we could all easily reroll elsewhere...sure we could but it's not as simple as the choice of one person. The English speaking PVP initiative set up by Sacrx involves a lot of guilds who have a long relationship with each other...friendships, rivalries, the works..... and so any decision to move to another server would have to involve every single guild involved in the initiative and thus every single player in each of those guilds. You're looking at probably 1000+ individuals. Also: Ex Norn players are a stubborn bunch. It's our natural reaction to dig our heels in when pushed and to bite back when baited simply because we got used to being dealt the ****** end of the stick by Mythic (and let's not forget, this is essentially a game made by ex Mythic employees in part or in whole) and EA already. The chances of us moving are pretty much nil and were we to move wholesale to another server we would simply overpopulate that too and I highly doubt the majority of the guilds involved would want to move on their own. The easiest solution is to offer free personal and guild transfers off of ToFN for a limited period. This will give people, guilds or small communities caught up in this mare's nest a chance to escape the loooooooong queues and relieve the almighty frustration of having to wait at least 2 hours to get in game for the rest of us.
  20. This post is win and should be stickied right at the top. Occasionally the UI becomes unresponsive to mouse input, the guild list isn't populated by the online members or something else just plain weird happens...Ctrl-U always fixes it.
  21. No ex Warhammer player is in the slightest bit surprised to see Jeff "couldn't organise a piss up in a brewery" Hickman's name at the end of that statement. The queues are completely unacceptable. Even more so because you had decent figures when it came to expected customer numbers during the pre-order period and also a general idea from the guild assignment system where these people would go. Hell, you could even have spent a few hours reading the forums to give you even more insight. I can only assume that the downtime of the 19th will increase the servers to max capacity, otherwise you've pretty much Hickman'ed up another launch.
  22. I logged into the queue for Freedom Nad at 13:45, went out and took care of a load of xmas stuff and got back at 18:30 to find I was still only 300-ish in the queue. 2 to 4 hours right now would be the express lane. Especially considering the poor optimisation of the game led to it black screening me 15 minutes after finally getting in and forcing me right to the back of the queue again. I'm not at all surprised seeing Jeff Hickman's name on that statement. Though that he took time out of his busy schedule of giving that other prize idiot Paul Barnett a reacharound is a somewhat shocking development.
