  1. What utility choices would you recommend for deception/infiltration? Sorry if you've stated this somewhere, I can't find it.
  2. Some good uses of the utility, no doubt. But let's see Is it really easier? A normal knockback would wield the same result if you use deathfield on the very next cd. Unless maybe they speed buff away, but then they would also have broken the root probably anyway. Yup, good uses. Will not help against a good tank/healer. Unless you have 2 sins and they both root them separately at the same time maybe. Nice one, yeah. Now, what if you play 4v4 in team ranked against a good team? Wouldn't the 30% dmg reduction against hard switches be useful? Or what if you 1v1 against a good opponent? Is the root on overload that useful? Can you name a few more uses please? I'm not being sarcastic, I honestly wanna know what makes it so good versus shapeless spirit or insulation for example.
  3. Lol no, deception is very easy to kite against. It only has 1 slow and 1 root (if speced for it). Its slow has only 10m range (if I remember correctly) and right now almost every single class can break that slow with a movement skill. How exactly is it hard to kite against? So you're saying because deception is as useless as a marauder in pvp right now (maybe even more useless) it doesn't need a buff? No mate, both deception and marauders need a buff.
  4. Not at all, there aren't many classes that lose that much dps if they're rooted for 2 secs and let's face it, the 5 seconds root is not gonna happen all that often. On the other hand, 30% dmg reduction when stunned and focused helps a lot.
  5. Lately I've been toying with the idea of dropping electric bindings (the root on overload), it just doesn't seem to help that much. I was thinking of picking up shapeless spirit instead (reduced dmg when stunned).
  6. I wonder if it's better to gear your healer companion with pvp gear but pve mainhand/offhand. Their healing gets better if you yourself are wearing pvp gear right? So their expertise only helps them mitigate dmg received and healing done to themselves. In other words, the extra stats on pve mainhand/offhand should offset the expertise loss right?
  7. Pts and sorcs. I'm talking about deception here ofc - hatred is a bit easier. How exactly can you counter pts with 45% extra speed that can't be rooted or slowed? Sorcs are not that bad but a good sorc can still kite you forever. And what are the roots you can put on them? Because I only count 1 - overload.
  8. No it's not, especially since our force slow is useless right now (both its range and its effectiveness against any ranged class - they can all break it easily). Ranged classes right now can kite us forever.
  9. Currently with no accuracy augments I'm sitting at ~94.50% accuracy (don't remember the exact number) - with BiS enhancements. It would be a waste to add another enhancement right? Or maybe add 1 accuracy augment?
  10. More than 95% accuracy is a waste, only sages and inquisitors have 10% defense.
  11. In addition to all the answers here, I just want to note that since you're hatred spec the aoe taunt actually increases your own damage reduction by 30% as well - it is really dumb not to use it in a fight. You should also be spamming your single taunt on cooldown, it costs nothing, is off the global cooldown and the damage reduction helps a LOT (especially when you see a vanguard for example about to burst your teammate). Btw, another good way to peel for your teammates is getting the knockback root utility (electric bindings) and using overload if you see someone get focused.
  12. Does being in shield power mode affect your bombs' damage?
  13. The problem is that hatred is better than deception even in 1v1. If deception was better even just for 1v1 pvp, I would choose it over hatred - but that's not the case unfortunately. I think deception needs more burst, it seems to me bioware is trying to increase deception's sustained dmg and decrease the burst - that's not its role. The spec should be great in 1v1 and off-node attacking/ node guarding and hatred should be better in group play. I think increasing its burst would do just that. Another problem is how easily some classes can kite deception right now (pts for example and every class with on the move chanelling). If a melee class can't slow its target due to their immunities and they can just kite you forever, something is wrong. Hatred at least has a couple of long range skills.
  14. Um, the point is to make it viable so people can choose it over hatred if they like the playstyle better. Or at least make it better than hatred in pvp, so there are aspects of the game where you can use it. Right now, hatred is better in solo PvE, aoe PvE, group PvP AND 1v1 PvP, it's ridiculous. Or the solution could be to nerf hatred to deception's level, but that would only work if the other OP classes got nerfed too (I'm looking at you PTs - sorcs).
