  1. I hope they put it on a daily commendation vendor for 220 commendations! Oh wait... no I don't... /suicide. Or maybe they could just what the OP says.
  2. Funny, when I saw this topic I thought it would be about the Talent tree. Once you've decided on a path it's not like you are making hard choices. For example, most of the "choice" for tanking and healing is really "I have to take this or I can't do it effectively." It's really only those last 10 points that give me a glimmer of actual choice, and even then it's hard to get excited about 1% this or 2% that as you look around. And as for story, yeah, but so what? If everyone didn't have the same experience people would shriek about one path vs. another being better, and especially about how unfair the one they took was. :0
  3. No, it hurts my eyes. Edit it so there are more logical sentence breaks since right now it looks like a spiky wall of text to poke tender eyes. Also, I love the in-game animations for basic melee, I think they look neat. Perhaps you mean to say... add more of them?
  4. Or just fix them going forward, leaving existing mods unchanged. I think they should fix it, it's confusing as hell and just seems lazy to me not to sort it all out. If they somehow magically become different items at the purple or blue level, then the base item should give you some meaningful clue about that (name isn't doing it for me).
  5. Whether we get more designs or not I would like to see the color crystal show up better in vibroswords, tech blades and tech staves. Some of them have a thin glowy line on them, but it's too bad they don't seem to change colors except occasionally during ability use.
  6. LOL. So true. Also to the OP: No. People who are too lazy to get off their speeder the ones I beat to the node while I am on foot.
  7. During ship combat, maybe I should point out to the fires on my ship that they need oxygen to burn. Then perhaps they will put themselves out. As far as I know, unlike rocket fuel there is no liquid oxygen mixed into my ship's armor.
  8. Frequently I need an armor upgrade for one slot only or I just want to see what mods are available for a given level range (e.g., show me all types of item modifications in level range 40-43). And yet, I cannot do either of those things without lots of browsing or going through each subcategory one at a time. It's not like these are crazy, unheard of requests. Seriously, do they ever shop on the GTN? You'd think they'd have come up with ideas for this already.
  9. Why not add a /poll function and if you type it, you see the weekly poll or something like that? I don't know about you, but I have plenty of dead time I'd rather spend doing something interesting, mostly while waiting for the last 2 minutes of this or that mission to finish up.
  10. Funny how there are all these pages about selective realism FTW and nothing about the design intent. IMO, this happens because they don't want you to run through mobs. Now let's talk about whether is good design or not. I think it's a needless hassle once the mobs have gone gray and otherwise it makes sense that red mobs would aggro and chase/shoot you.
  11. Put it back in! Lots of annoying stuff is still in-game. For example, you might say the primary purpose of PvP is to annoy and destroy others, and they left that in. At least the bomb part of the party bomb results in no casualties.
  12. I'd like to see Pushing Z to put your weapon away also put away companion weapons.
  13. Sounds fun to me. As M1-4X I shall make his "burnt husk of the empire" fantasies a reality.
  14. +1. Your ship is a great place to go to view all your companions and tweak their gear yet you can't give them gifts. Some way to do this would be swell. For example, what if there was a node for each companion on the ship where you could leave a gift? Something highlightable near where they stand?
  15. Sure, so long as low level characters don't have max level players all up in their business. They would need to make sure those two groups don't have a reason to compete, otherwise it just creates frustration. In EQ2 one of the ways they got you going back to places was through epic level quests. It was a quest chain of maybe 20+ steps that had you collecting rare mob kills, special items, boss drops, and other things from all over the game. Then at the end you got something really special, like a class weapon or a spiffy mount.
  16. Cool idea. You should make a separate thread about this so the idea doesn't get lost.
  17. If you zoom out enough, every new MMO has the same problem: Once players have consumed the content they want to consum, what will lure them back? IMO for newer games it's less about continuous retention and more about bringing people back while steadily attracting new players. They simply don't have 5+ years of content to keep people busy while they wait for new and exciting things to be released. So people leave. But will they come back? And for what?
  18. Update - ran it successfully last night with three people and a healing companion. We were a 42 vanguard, 41 scoundrel and a 41 sentinel in mostly blue gear. You need someone who can leap to a mob in order to three man this. The hardest fight by far was the first round of turrets - definitely shoot behind you and have the best-geared healing companion you have out and ready. Arrange yourselves in a triangle and have one person shoot the arc between the two opposite people and the others shoot to the right and left of the single person, respectively. Do the same thing for the second round; for some reason, we found this one to be much easier. Maybe it was having the experience of the first round under our belts, not sure. The forcefield puzzle was not bad, but you need to have someone who can leap to a mob. At one point (you'll know when) the leaper has to access a mob and a computer behind a sealed wall. He can summon his healing companion to help him live. Once he wins he can open up the wall and let someone access the computer that opens all the gates. This is how you get through both phases of the puzzle area. After the turrets and puzzle it's a more straightforward instance and the rest of it wasn't any trouble (just remember to keep moving when the annihilator droid drops his flame fields, he only does it for 10 secs at a time).
  19. What is the reasoning behind the itemization for cunning assault cannons, aim vibroknives and aim shotguns? These are not optimal for any class and tend to clog up the GTN in those categories. It's really a bummer to have one drop or come out of a blue lockbox... hello vendor trash.
  20. I'd enjoy having this. A lot of gear and vehicles have blinky bits on them. I want to see 'em light up the night!
  21. Umm Robot rebellion? There are way too many ship droids out there, and nobody suspects them.
  22. How about "no, because rocket boots are for short bursts of speed, not cross country travel." Selective realism FTW. But really I don't care either way, if it's more fun for some people then why not make them persist? Although question: do they persist when you're not moving? That would be... odd. Propulsion that doesn't propel hmm...
  23. Exactly. I love duoing these quests and testing our limits in a duo. By the second playthrough when I have main helping mne with blue mods and armors, etc., I couldn't even imagine having more than two anyway. Maybe they were a challenge back in green gear when everybody was poor, but if you're in blues they are "just about right" for two and pretty fun imo. Also, just because it's content the OP can't do at his/her convenience doesn't mean it's invalid content. You CAN solo them once you have +5-7 levels on it. I did that all the time on my poor, 1st-gen agent who sucked at solo. Still saw the story, still got my orange gears.
