  1. Nice deflection, you should run for office.
  2. For months people complained about biochem because of the reusable potions being a huge advantage. This is their way of countering it. Sure, they may say it's to help with making encounters, but I bet it has more to do with reusable potions. They said before they were going to get away from the reusable potion route, and what better way is there to do it than to allow you to use one potion a fight? So for those of you that complained about reusable potions and how OP they are, congratulations, you got everyone nerfed.
  3. On the issue of server population dropping.... I logged into my old level 50 trooper on master zhar something server that I hadn't logged into in over a month. It was 8:30 am central time and there were a grand total of 7 people on the republic fleet. That is not a typo, I mean seven. For those that don't believe me, if you'd like I can post a screen shot that I took out of disbelief.
  4. I logged into my trooper that I hadn't used in a month or so and he's on the master zhar soemthing server. It was 8:30 am central and there were...wait for it.... 7 people on the republic fleet. I have screen shot of it if anyone doesn't believe me.
  5. If they made ops difficult then people wouldn't complete them in a month. Instead of making them hard, they went the.. I guess casual route, and ended up making them super easy - even nightmare mode.
  6. I made a crit crafted one for myself on the first try, needless to say I got really lucky. I made 5 more, 4 of them were normal and the 5th one crit. I put it on the GTN for 3 million creds. It sold over night.
  7. What you say makes me wonder something about people like that. They say things like, "Oh numbers don't matter, story and environment are what makes this game special" and it makes me wonder if they would play a game where numbers had no impact on gameplay and the game was basically Second Life but set in star wars with story and no combat progression is if they would actually play it.
  8. You sure about that? From what people on the PTR are saying, only the new tier pieces are RE-able and the current ones cannot be.
  9. I don't know, the panda on "Kung Fu Panda" was pretty darned awesome.
  10. Basically it comes down to them thinking that only elitist players like to use damage meters so they wanted to make it "extra work" to see yours and other peoples dps. Also, damage meters are an easy way to discriminate against other players and that type of behavior is bad. Because it can happen, they decided to remove the ability to easily see how your other group mates perform.
  11. It makes sense, if they don't want the environment to where people are judging others based on their dps, then don't use mechanics on bosses that perpetuate the feeling of wanting to do so. I was thinking about it though. If dps didn't matter, then wouldn't groups go into a raid with nothing but healers and a few tanks? After thinking about that for a few minutes I realized that yes, theoretically people could do that, but realistically they wouldn't. People wouldn't want to go into a raid to fight a boss that takes 30 minutes just to kill it. Instead, they would be sure to bring dps so they could kill the boss in a timely fashion. Then again, if a group of players wanted to do that, why stop them? If some group decided they would prefer super long drawn out fights but a higher chance of winning with more heals and more mitigation, then why stop them? Anyway, yes; it is a giant contradiction and they should address the issue. They either want a non combative environment where dps doesn't matter and people won't care about dps and see the need for public logs or damage meters, or they want dps to matter and they should support the ability to check others in a timely fashion instead of this super discombobulated way they are doing it in 1.2.
  12. So because he decided he would enjoy his time more in wow and not in swtor we should discontinue the discussion? Weak.
  13. Wiping for hours on the same boss and you won't even start to feel a hint of frustration because it's a game? Sorry, I don't buy that. Even the most casual person will start to get frustrated in that situation. If not for wiping for hours, then the feeling of wasting that amount of time. You are just trolling when you say stuff like you said.
  14. While you may see it as, "That group can't kill the the last boss or close to it, so that group will suck and I don't want to waste my time." Someone else may see it as, "Sweet, they are almost done, I can go in and knock out my daily hard mode in a short amount of time."
  15. Exactly my point. Without data to give the ability to make a smart decision as to who is the culprit that is hindering the group from completing the dungeon, then that group will either dissolve or they may end up removing the wrong player.
  16. If I remember right, you can RE a piece of raid gear to learn the recipe which turns into an orange piece when you craft it. But, it is not 100% chance to learn the recipe. Anyway, this is why I am not a big fan of the system... If you want BiS, you need a crit orange piece of gear. You can crit the low level orange gear so you can technically have the BiS piece for that slot. While true that you need to mods from raiding to turn that piece into BiS, it also makes that raid piece you got instantly inferior to that orange gear you already had. Yes, technically you can have that raid piece be BiS if you RE it, get the recipe, craft it, and hope you get it to crit. So basically, it puts a lot of work on someone that likes to be able to show off that super rare nightmare mode quality item. If you only care about stats (like me) then you'll just be wearing that low level crit orange piece you got relatively cheap for the long foreseeable future.
  17. On the flip side, if you want to run with a group where accountability has no bearing on the group and the only thing that matters is having a good time, then run with a group of friends. The reason your argument of numbers only matter when you run with a guild does not work is because when you join a pug, the goal isn't specifically to run with anonymous people to have fun. The goal of a pug is complete the FP or OP. Since the goal of the pug group is completing the dungeon, saying "run with a guild if you care about others performance" is not the equivalent of "run with friends if you only care about fun". I see people say what you try to say and think it has equal arguing power, but the fact is, both statements don't have equal power in the debate. If the goal of a pug was to only have a good time and not worrying about if the group can complete the dungeon, then I would say you are right. However that is not the case. If anything, I would say view-able metrics matter more in a pug because you have no idea what quality of players will be in that group, but each player wants to complete the dungeon. Since each player wants to win, having the ability to evaluate the performance of everyone in the group is important so that instead of having the group fall apart completely if they cannot beat a boss because of low output, it would be better for the group as a whole to know who exactly is limiting the group's ability to complete it. When they have accurate, reliable data to make the most logical decision as to who that player is, they can remove that player and replace him/her with someone that can help the group complete it.
  18. A player can be discriminated or griefed when another player inspects their gear. Should they remove the ability to inspect people? A player can be discriminated when someone sees the amount of hp a player has. DPS and Tanks alike. If a dps has low hp it means he has low gear so he can be shunned from groups. A tank can have low hp so he might not be able to take a hit from a boss, that guy can also be shunned from a group. Seeing as people can be discriminated based on their hp, should they remove the ability to see player hp? Should player hit points be a mystery and instead of an actual number displayed, should it just be a percentage?
  19. The debate about chat logs vs damage meters proves my point about not responding to that post about inspecting people and seeing hp. There's a chance they can win the argument in which it's an extreme example (chat logs) however when presented with a case that doesn't have as big of an impact, they can't win so they choose to ignore it.
  20. Because as I stated earlier, there is no strong argument against it. Because of that, people will read it, know there's no good argument, then ignore it in hopes that it goes away so they can go back to their straw man argument.
  21. Good point, hard to argue against it. Unfortunately because that's the case, people will read it, decide they can't come up with a good argument, then ignore it in hopes that it will go away in the sea of responses in this thread in hopes that it will be forgotten. Then a page or two later they will be back to use the same tired argument. The sad truth is, if they aren't hypocrites then they will agree with you 100% and start making posts to get rid of the inspect feature and the feature to see someone's hp. And actually, at least with meters you have a chance to show the group what you can do as opposed to being outright denied. But, they won't do that because it's probably a feature they use and don't want to see it go away. I suppose hypocrites will be hypocrites.
  22. The argument about fairness to the others in the group has already been presented. Basically the argument against it is, "That guy got made fun of and booted, that's not fair to that one person and that's all that matters." It's sad, but true.
  23. I've been full marksman for the longest time and recently tried out full lethality. Both specs have great burst but overall I think lethality puts out more dps. Anyway, I had a bit of energy problems so I switched to the common 16/3/22 build and I gotta say, I am loving my sniper again. Once I apply my two dots I go to town and put out loads of dmg with cull -> sos -> ambush -> cull. After the second cull just use the basic attack once, reapply one dot, basic attack, do the other, one more basic attack, then start over. The people at sithwarrior.com were right. Currently this is the highest dps spec and it's great for pve and pvp. I think to combat the whole hybrid spec thing is they should make the talent MM get for more energy regen when in cover either be something baseline that you get at x level or drop it down the tree to the first tier or something. That talent is just too good for energy regen.
  24. Some people like to have conversations when they run with a pug, why is that? I mean it's not needed. Some people just have different preferences, that's all.
  25. If the other members of the group seem to think so, then yes. If they want to remove you because you are doing 6000 dps vs 10,000 dps in hopes of getting someone else, then they have every right to do so. If your group thinks that doing 6000 dps vs 10,000 dps is fine, then it's fine. That's what happens when you choose to join a pug. You know there is a risk that sometimes there will be people that just want to get it done and want everyone to be putting out optimal numbers, and sometimes there will people that don't care. You know that when you choose to join a group of people that you don't know, so why complain when you run across them?
