  1. send bioware about 10 pallets of klondike bars.
  2. so its a terrible game because you are bad, players are bad, and people dont like you. got it!
  3. because it breaks pvp and really takes a lot of the challenge out of actually interrupting correctly in pve. why would you want to completely automate something that is one of the very few skill defining things we currently have?
  4. wildly popular does not mean its a good idea. for the preaching you have done on other topics i would have thought you could have come up with a better for argument than that. as it currently is in game you get titles for either making particular decisions (story point) or for actually achieving something (killing a boss, completing a flashpoint) with the pvp titles being an outlier of time spent. the original proposal of adding a title for legacy 50 does fall under the same purview as the pvp titles, but the pvp titles also are part of the reward for participating in pvp. i know their are a couple of pvp titles i have farmed out even though im not a big fan of pvp. where no matter how good the title for 50 legacy is, i know i will get it eventually just for playing the game regardless. if its something particularly awesome i may spend more time farming specifically for it (where honestly dailies+space, ie solo activities will net you the fastest xp/hour) instead of waiting for it to come naturally. so no, im very much against giving away this kind of title unless it has an actual purpose.
  5. so you can freely spam/macro them at no consequence?
  6. you mean outside of the fact that they arent daily locked? they removed the cd on them with 1.2. and yes, i do. columi already drastically outgears the current fps (outside of lost island). what you are suggesting is like giving tionese away for running normal black talon. if you dont want to do black talon for the daily, then dont. form a group for whatever flashpoint you do want to do. they arent enough harder, or even longer if you do them correctly, to basically give away rewards that are much more difficult to get. or you missed the point entirely. artifice is the only source for those color crystals, so how does the plague crystals effect those? although i will admit i ranted off that particular point.
  7. so you honestly see farming 500k boars to earn the title the boarslayer! as both a huge "epeen" worthy accomplishment and a great use of time? its not pertinent to the story, nor is it something that is worthy of accolade. i dont see how you can actually agree that this sort of play should be not only encouraged, but rewarded.
  8. probably because not many actually buy the cases as they are a waste of comms.
  9. possibly. though im skeptical that its better than what we currently have. even in that last minute it seems pretty unlikely that you cant atleast get the 2.5k damage/healing medal etc. i could agree that this is a problem, but that would also be admitting that solo queing is an ok thing to do in a game predicated on effective teamwork. not really. i know i ground out enough comms to get my sniper companions a couple of specific armor sets while watching the last 2 episodes of dr who. while i can agree that you get much more for actually trying, just randomly running around and not really doing anything got me to y goal, which was comms. incentivizing doesnt really work unless the only way to get something is by actively doing it.
  10. too many quest triggers are tied to space ports. a ton of the bugs at launch, especially for specific stories, were because you were able to bypass the quest triggers with quick travel. while it is something that may happen eventually, it wont be anytime soon.
  11. 2 problems with this statement. 1. its not true. the pve gear especially is rather poorly itemized in comparison. yes, its a similar item level but that means basically squat. 2. pvp needs to be at an equal gear level for it to even be semi competitive and therefor "fun". farming people entirely because you outgear them gets very old very quickly, and last i checked pvp in general is its own reward, vs pve where you generally need a carrot to follow. no. not going to go into the reasoning here, do a bit of research into the million other threads on the topic, but cross server is a very poor "fix". lfg itself is coming in 1.3. NO no no no no no. your "incentive" is to drastically increase the rewards for doing easy content? especially rakata from bp/foundry 2 of the easiest fps in game. maybe if you put them back to their prefixed state like they were at launch i could agree. fps as they are reward very good gear for their difficulty level. perhaps on your server. in reality most of the server economies have changed. especially with the new needs of crafters and with all of the credit sinks most of what people are willing to pay, and what is actively being purchased has changed. also, again, your complaint about pvp gear being better is flat out false when compared to any piece of well itemized "t2" crafted gear. last i checked the crystals you got from the rhak plague didnt come in red/blue/green/orange/yellow/magenta. form does have a cost all its own and is worth more to different people. i know that i stocked up on the rhak crystals and now that they are no longer available have been selling them at 650k per. which is a great investment for me, and blatently contradicts your premise that "high end" items are rotting. do i sell multiple, or even 1 every day, no, but i generally sell 2 a week. same with crafted orange gear at 85-150k per piece depending on variety. thats actually a tough sell. with more people creating pub alts thanks to legacy it is evening out a bit, but there are a great many that dont want to be pitted against their friends, or faction, for pvp. there are many that wont roll cross faction for this very reason. whether its a correct choice to cater to those or to you is really in need of much more debate. that being said, cross realm pvp is coming in 1.3 (or more likely when they get the hacker situation handled better) and should improve some of the pvp issue, especially when combined with transfers. they are, through transfers. strait merging servers creates a TON of issues, with everything from naming rights to people not knowing the name of their new server. people already get upset at logging into a forced respec due to tree changes, the amount of outcry when their character gets changed would be huge. they never end well for either the publisher not the consumer.
  12. not really. besides the fact that it completely destroys the orange design, because they wouldnt be needed anymore, it also entirely devalues the actual look of the crafted gear as most of them are available in other places. right now i can currently fill niches for orange gear that is hard/impossible to find in an orange form, but can be found at random levels with greens/blues. this completely takes ALL of those niches away. the amount of profit able to be generated from those tradeskills would be next to nil, since the only real market left would be augs, which you can quickly and easily buy 5 of and never need another. perhaps it is. either way those are VERY thin excuses to try an pull off that kind of spectacle. there are lines, and some are finer than others, of what is acceptable in terms of gearing and believable immersion. the bikini already breaks that as it is and its getting worse, which is a major con, not a betterment. more freedom is not always a good thing, especially when the playerbase cant, or doesnt, use it effectively nor responsibly. either way its a stupid amount of work when they have already put the controls for it in place with the current and future design. dye systems almost always go too far. hot pink jedi robes and neon green sith armor doesnt fly no matter how much you want it. it crosses the line both aesthetically, and believably. they are already working on different color schemes, and have made the current color changer for actually matching outfits to decrease this. i like the system, and most of the gear options currently in game. no, because i can do both of what you said in game right now. i havent seen anyone else who looks like my sorcerer or jugg running around. as i said i DO pay attention to other fashion. i dont like wardrobe because you shouldnt have the ability to switch look on a whim. much like spec looks matter. whether its a losing battle or not i will continue to fight for this simply because it lies at the heart of character identity. the statement "the clothes make the man" is much more true for impressions and attitude than many are willing to admit, and its something that should be held to ingame. except that little fact that YOU are the one making it tedious. its a choice you have actively made that has no actual backing in reality. the math behind it does not support your playstyle at all. why should bioware go out of its way, and spend a ton of dev time "fixing" something that isnt an issue for most because there is no point in doing it. it doesnt really increase performance, it doesnt add to the story.
  13. agreed. although im leaning much more towards cons. outside of ops denials to the contrary its against the idea of a guild period. maybe changing this into a different sort of association kinda like how eve does it would be better suited.
  14. so you want to encourage botting? even at that amount its not an accomplishment and seriously encourages a style of play that is unhealthy, both physically and in game.
  15. the easiest/best solution, remove them entirely.
  16. this^^ drops are swayed, its not guaranteed. its still a roll on the loot table with the class being present being an opt-in for the sway. if you were taking a party of merc, powertech, assassin, and sorcerer through instead of the 25% chance on each token like it was before its now 40% bh, 40% inquisitor, 10% ia, 10% warrior. (thats an example, the amount of sway as far as i know hasnt been released or compiled yet)
  17. having 10 days /played or killing 500 boars are not accomplishments. they will happen regardless in your career. sheer time spent should not be rewarded in that fashion.
  18. yeah, and my point is bioware is already doing that. that kind of power doesnt belong in the players hands, especially with how this game is designed.
  19. nope. i would rather have set obstacles/objects to overcome than to be forced to make my own.
  20. or you can bump one of your dozen other threads on the subject where you have rather emphatically been told no.
  21. how would you suggest balancing it against those who afk to victory in pvp? why is pvp the only game type that rewards failure?
  22. they stated somewhere that they have the first couple years of story in the can. meaning atleast the voiceover/writing parts are ready to go. so creating your own "story" kinda invalidates what bw has done and is still going to release.
  23. why? you already have the advantage in played time to accrue the credits. to answer your question specifically, yes, there is good reason to not give away free things. cause then it will be expected, and expecting and/or feeling entitled to it just because you have played longer than others is not only counter productive to long term growth/health but actually cheapens the experience.
  24. ugh. /facepalm. titles should be reserved for doing something of note. completing a story arc, or major point, slaying a rather nasty boss, doing an actual feat. something that is going to unlock purely from playing the game long enough is pretty dumb. i can sorta understand the pvp titles, as its one of the few ways to reward that activity, but with how pve is designed we dont need it, nor should we want it. giving away titles freely diminishes the accomplishment of getting them.
