  1. daniel erickson also talked about it in an interview, and it was also brought up at guild summit. it was stated that its coming, but there is issues with the interiors specifically, between triggers with companions/quests and shared ships sith/jedi working the floorplans for companions was all causing more problems than they anticipated. like the issue with chat bubbles destroying framerates.
  2. sure, and so does bioware, which is why this is already planned. if you are going to "make a suggestion" atleast be knowledgeable enough about your topic to know if its coming or not.
  3. no its not. as soon as bioware made a decision for my toon that going against the story that i created i would be pissed. i dont want them controlling my characters, period.
  4. dev time+cost says it will be poorly done. you, and the rest of the "must have free form space flight" crew are asking for an entire new game to be made, and then meaningfully attached to swtor. considering that the dev budget alone for those kinds of games generally sits in the millions alone, without a ton of cross over between existing assets, its a major undertaking. either a, it wont happen, or b, it will but be very poor (much like many agree that even jtl was poorly implemented). so eve is like xwing vs tie fighter, or the space combat from battlefield 2?! gosh, i havent played it in close to a year now but im pretty sure it hasnt changed that much. no, you mean the galaxies crew expected which was compounded by converts to the cause. even for the day the expac itself was only reviewed at a 7.7 aggregate, and from what i have been able to find didnt drastically increase subs at all. in fact, its repeatedly said that "sharp learning curve" and "repetitive space missions" were often listed as negatives in those reviews. sounds a lot like the existing space combat to me. controlled rvr, similar to what tsw is doing, sure. true not a chance. it will fail the same way you are whining about illum below. i disagree here too. balanced illum. 10-20 on each side with similar numbers was great. imbalanced illum was garbage. considering that bw has stated that they are "fixing" illum as soon as they get the tech developed to do so i still have hope. sure. but those are unreasonable expectations. this playerbase will give them neither the time, nor the money, to make such things happen. look at the whining they are doing over transfers, and they arent far out at this point. there is far too much gimme gimme gimme and general ignorance to make that happen. also, again with the "im going to state my argument again just to prove im right" retardation? seriously? grow up already and actually discuss the issue. not debating that the space market itself isnt doing well, merely that the space shooter/flight sim is not. even sins of a solar empire hasnt solid remarkably well. there is no market backing for the genre at all, which is why we dont see too many games made that fall within it. i would LOVE an updates xwing vs tie fighter, but you must convince a studio that it will make money doing it, which you cant based on the market results themselves. hence, dead genre. also, you can read the front page of this, and most every other forum, to know that "just saying its coming" wont salve diddly squat. if you cant see that you are blind.
  5. no. i dont want bioware taking my characters and using them as npcs.
  6. because smashing a poorly done space flight sim on top of a space fantasy rpg is a mediocre to terrible idea? especially when if you ask pretty much every developer in the business about flight sims/space shooters they will tell you its a dead genre. also, rifts idea of rvrvr is utter crap. the grouping by "faction" is already causing issues, and its a chunk of the reason why i finally decided to cancel my sub for rift. as i said, what you want doesnt always, or even generally, actually make the game better. do you know what i want? i want non faceroll pve combat. i want hardmodes to go back to pre nerf status. i want more raids, and actual raids with difficulty that we arent clearing first night in under 5 hours. i want their to be a real death penalty. these would all make the game MUCH better in my opinion, but if even half of it was actually implemented how many players do you think would quit? my guess would be roughly 1/3. possibly more since the number that i see that cant handle leveling/mechanics now is way too high. the sheer number of people that are ignorant of how even stats work, when you can read what everything does right on the character sheet is insane. i actually had an argument with someone yesterday that still believes the rumor from pre launch that hit actually increases your damage (via armorpen) after breaking soft cap.
  7. while you may lose your name, it was at your own choice, not at being forced by the company to do so. the actual feeling and community backlash is much much less.
  8. because what you want isnt "better" the vast majority of the time.
  9. ^^ this. its exactly how rift handled server consolidation and its one of the few things its got very right.
  10. i guess its a good thing that bioware hasnt discussed repeatedly or anything.
  11. @op spanish advertising only takes up about 5% of the marketing pie. that figure combined with basic location (third world countries primarily) leads to a rather small overall market outlook. much like how chinese is the most spoken language per capita, but is fairly low in terms of global market share. as heaven stated, its an extremely small market. lol agreed. its when tons of people from an ethnic group, or time zone coordinate rolling on a server. you see it a lot in europe with russians, and america with brazillians and australians. it can cause issues, especially with the language barrier.
  12. i cant agree that the very piece should be reused. im a firm believer that some armor sets, especially for npcs, should stay unique, but something similar would be great. maybe even an upgrade from the stupid sets with the kite on the back that looks like it should be solid but actually isnt
  13. but he is correct, for the wrong reasons, but still correct. bioware wants events to be surprises. its a reward for logging in on a regular basis. as was stated many time before, in this and a dozen other threads, the news was everywhere if you chose to look. he decided not to, therefore missed out. if he is such a completionist that he ZOMG MUST HAVE EVERYTHING then he would make sure he doesnt miss stuff.
  14. O Canada! Our home and native land! True patriot love in all thy sons command. With glowing hearts we see thee rise, The True North strong and free! From far and wide, O Canada, we stand on guard for thee. God keep our land glorious and free! O Canada, we stand on guard for thee. O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.
  15. we both spend a chunk of time on this forum. i personally pop into the tradeskills and pve forums from time to time but got really tired of telling people immutable facts based on game mechanics and then being told i was wrong by morons. here atleast its more of a general debate of principles rather than quantifiable numbers. while heaven and i do share many viewpoints we have clashed in the past on a few.
  16. really? you can look at this wki page on it http://lotro-wiki.com/index.php/Dyes where if you look at colors (especially the lighter ones, like turquoise, yellow, white) the texture of the cloth effects what the color looks like. that white especially being grey looks terrible. the only way you can get a "set" to look the same, is if all of the pieces have the same texture. in other words, only sets that were designed to be sets would be able to all have the same shade, unless you went shade by shade and specifically matched each and every piece. even then you will have differences based on lighting etc. its far from "perfect" as you like to put it, and one of the major reasons why dye systems dont work correctly, or even well.
  17. bioware has already stated that swoop racing and pazaak are coming, and that they are a low priority. that doesnt change the fact that based on previous games, and on the devtime/budget available here, i can log out and find a much better experience of that same kind elsewhere. heck i can load up the last wipeout on my ps2 emulator and likely be playing a much better game than will be implemented here. same with pretty much any of the available card games, or flight sims, or pretty much anything that the masses can whine for. i hate how mmo has come to mean spend all of your time here, which by todays gamer seems to mean "include every playstyle ever, because we all work and play so well together. heck, look at pvp vs pve (dungeons) vs pve (raiding) vs pve (solo). so many issues would be solved if these were all games made separately instead of being smashed together. raiding for example requires raid tiers for gates progression. pvp however works best when there is no real gear progression and everyone can compete on a level playing field. the two dont mix. at all. this major push to combine every star wars title (therefore genre, since its touched on everywhere) is not only a recipe for a truly muddles mediocre game, but a true recipe for failure. as i have stated many times before, i would much rather have a good, focused, deep game, then a poorly implemented neo geo on crack.
  18. yeah, its easy to "add lore" to a game that essentially has none. its part of the reason why i finally decided to cancel. on top of that, their "mercenary" system, and general horribly repeated content, and the complete lack of sense that the dev team calls "balance", not just between classes, but even souls within those classes, lead me to finally cancel my sub. infernal dawn was good, but nowhere near good enough. i would disagree with "dead in the water", it has a solid, dedicated playerbase that are very happy with the game and are more than willing to grind their hearts away in the game. even with the drop in subs vs launch, and the additional cash they were able to pull in with vet rewards, they arent going anywhere anytime soon.
  19. @op no, choices are clearly marked. you made a poor one, live with it or reroll to "fix" your mistake. bioware has stated that we have more story coming this year. meaning more chapters of your main class line, more companion stuff (lgbt stuff included) etc. keep your pants on.
  20. aug slots are meaningless. even across all of your gear. this is the argument you should have picked to begin with. but even them that level of customization would have to be spread across all weapons in terms of fairness. besides the fact that a large number of things are even now deemed "low priority" such as all of the mini games that the bads are crying for, how far down the list do you honestly believe something like this is. assuming of course that its not already on the wall, which would be a surprise since this isnt exactly a new topic.
  21. yeah when vader said trust your feelings, he wasnt talking to you.
  22. so you would rather destroy the existing economy? if you arent buying from crafters then you either dont need anything, or are making it all yourself. if you are making it yourself then you have all of the same option to compete in the crafting market. if you arent, and really dont need anything then yes, lets wreck the ingame economy so all of us have to farm dailies for cash.
  23. no they dont, but they are a reward for doing something that you normally wouldnt do, in order to actually get bioware metrics on changes that they were implementing. you dont need an incentive to reach legacy 50, you will get there regardless.
  24. so you want everything handed to you on a silver platter instead? no effort or consequence involved?
  25. be that as it may, they have a number of credit sinks aimed at many different player types. according to biowares metrics they havent come up with another sink to target that particular demographic, or another way to siphon that cash in another constructive fashion. either way its really not a prohibitive price. especially with the sheer amount of cash you can make for really low amounts of "work".
