  1. Hahahaha.. yeah dude.. *that's* why they target you specifically. Snipers/gunslingers get targeted specifically because they're the easiest thing to kill in the game. In fact I didn't stop getting insta targeted until I actually started doing "mass" damage due to full champion gear and a bm rifle. It took alot of work just to get to the point where my damage was at an acceptable level, given my squishiness. The surge nerf has pretty much erased that.
  2. I'm at 16500 and 1475 in mostly champion gear.... don't exaggerate.

  4. By "open up" you mean hit them with 2 or 3 attacks that take off 1/4 of their hp before they're right back on top of you, beating your *** since legshot breaks after the first hit and you don't have any snares... Right?
  5. Sorcerers asking for buffs would sound less ridiculous than this thread. The only classes that I have trouble with are melee and the two most dangerous are the ones complaining about not having gap closers.
  6. Here's how that scenario plays out for me. All attacks dodged while evasion wears off, dots cleansed instantly, dead before first orbital strike round hits, assassin still has 90% health left.
  7. I wouldn't mind having a tiny fraction of a chance to beat an equal or slightly lesser geared assassin who isn't braindead...
  8. It still boggles my mind that melee classes actually think it's unfair that they can be hit at range. Even if we continue to ignore your very effective gap closers and cc, you people are grossly undervaluing your ability to do fast, instant, uninterruptible damage. If you aren't completely pummeling ranged classes when you get in melee range then you're doing something very wrong.
  9. I hate to burst your fantasy bubble but someone doing something for 10 hours a day will eventually surpass someone doing something for 2 hours a day no matter how much more of a genius the casual player thinks he is.
  10. Like troopers, bounty hunters and ops/scoundrels pre-nerf... oh wait. If snipers were dominating pvp you'd see more than one of them per match.

  12. It's only a problem if you're afk or if you don't know how to move. Despite what you people are saying, melee utterly destroys equally geared ranged classes when you're in melee range.
  13. What time frame?... they break on damage so if I'm laying down sick damage it's the exact same damage I would have laid down if I had just started shooting. That isn't to say they don't have other uses... like mezzing a group of people waiting to kill a ball handler at the end of a ramp or trapping someone in flames.... but useful for keeping melee off of us they aren't.
  14. we have a mezz grenade and a root that both break on damage... so they're not *keeping* anyone at range.. unless we're running away and haven't dotted them.
  15. Yes.. if one had no idea what they were talking about then they could argue that... but they'd still be wrong. We have exactly 0 tools to *keep* melee at range. As far as not being visible, yeah I guess that big glowing 'come kill me' sign in front of any sniper in cover is pretty subtle.. ... ..... .. .
  16. Let's make snipers go from the least played class to the not played class. Marauders and assassins are clearly underrepresented in warzones.
  17. Uh.. what? Just because you have to get into position before you can damage us doesn't mean we enjoy 100% defense against you. On top of that, what you're suggesting is ridiculous. Attacking unwitting targets from range is the sniper/gunslinger's bread and butter. Why should people like you be immune to that because you don't want to learn your class?

  19. Where do you people keep coming up with this nonsense? As a sniper, the only reason I fight any melee classes toe to toe is because kiting doesn't exist for my class. The only reason I win some of those is because of gear..... even with that advantage, a shadow/assassin can roll right over me without any effort at all. To add insult to injury, even when it looks like I'm about to win a 1 on 1 at close range, most melee can just vanish into thin air... either to open on me again or run off and lick their wounds. Confine your complaints to sorcerers/sages or learn how to play your class and accept its limitations.

  21. My only snare is a 6 second aoe that doesnt slow as much as most melee snares. It's utterly worthless in 1 on 1
  22. As a lethality sniper, (the only sniper spec that can actually do damage to most melee), my only effective cc method is a melee range stun. I fight marauders toe to toe more often than not because trying to cc them while they're beating the *** out of me is a waste of time and will get me killed. I have to save all of my cc for when they bubble up anyway. The problem, if there is one, is sorcerers/sages... not all ranged classes.
