  1. Uprising do a lot of add spam vs say any ol' FP. Ideally, your group has good DPS to mow down the weak adds and a good tank who can grab aggro on whatever lasts more than 3, 4 seconds. If people follow that I haven't had much issue on my Operative healer. If the DPS and tank focusing on the one elite, while you get shot to pieces by the 2 strong and their 10 weak friends, you need to look after yourself first, especially in a PUG. Once everyone died and you stealthed out, explain to them what went wrong, and what they need to fix. If they can't/won't, leave group. You can only lead a horse to water... Any particular Uprising you have issues with?
  2. Start with a look here: http://dulfy.net/2016/12/30/swtor-5-0-vigilance-guardian-pve-guide-by-rydarus/ It's for the Republic side mirror class, so you'll need to translate the skills to Imp side.
  3. 1) I believe BW said the CXP bonus we currently have will go away, but the CXP amount will be adjusted upwards. It sounds like we'll at least not go back to the days of yore of grinding a day for a level. 2) There are several planetary CXP missions that each take you 10 minutes to complete. 3) Your spec when receiving a CXP crate does not matter with regard to the gear that pops out of it, only what spec you are in when you open the crate. (I know, there have been reports that this isn't true, but it hasn't failed me yet, and I haven't heard any complaints from my guild.) If you want tank gear you can still play as a DPS.
  4. With the current drop rate, I can't quite disagree with this. Even with the boosts in the latest patch the CXP rate is disappointing, and the RNG crate just compounds this. If they add weeklies for each type, or add a crate reward to each weekly, that would be nice. Maybe someone would run the Black Hole dailies again! LOL In a similar vein, can we also get a few unassembled components thrown in for PvE content? Say 5 for a weekly, 1 for a daily, 2 for heroics. Nothing spectacular, but something that allows even PvEers to stock up on them slowly. Hey, if you have 90 components sitting in your bank, the temptation to get the few missing for the upgrade could entice some to try PvP and bring in more people.
  5. +1 to random cycling is bad. It can take some 20 tries to get the one you are after, and that's not counting you declining that one, when it comes up, because you are on auto pilot LOL. Unless it's for conquest, I really only run Czerka, BH, Corellia, Oricon, and DK if I'm feeling lucky and think I can get the Possessed Hunter one done without waiting around for 5min. Bonus tip: Czerka, BH and Oricon do not complete when you finish doing whatever the daily requires, but when you turn it in at the mission terminal. Good way to stock up the completed quests and turn in when your D/L side is winning for a free... 15%? bonus.
  6. Mkay, so, can we assume guild premades for PvP, too, which surely raises your average win-loss ratio to 80-20, or 90-10.
  7. One question about this assertion: was this (nobody is doing PUGs anymore) also happening the last time around a new gear tier was introduced? Were people just running PUGs a month ago because they had nothing better to do and/or were trying to get new gear for their 14th alt? In this case, you'll have to wait a month or so until people get most of their toons upgraded and PUG runs will probably come back.
  8. 1) Addressing the OP's problem: make the reward dependent on your own contribution. You get one token if you earn 200 alignment points, and for every 500 alignment points earned during a period gets you another token. Then throw in some bonus for the winning side, like double rewards for the next round, or something noticeable. The idea of a LvD struggle sounds good on paper, but as the OP noted, if you are on a server with a dominant alignment you are pretty much hosed. 2) Not the same issue, but related: token acquisition seems painfully slow. I really don't want to track my CXP bar and hold off the level up just because the server isn't in the state where I'd get a token, nevermind when it's trending the "wrong" way. If we keep the current system, can we just get a fixed number of tokens, based on our alignment rank (rank 1=1 token, rank 5=5 tokens) every time a side wins and our chars alignment matches? Adjust the vendor prices accordingly. Include offline cars please, so we're not forced to login cycle through chars whenever a side wins? This would be a QoL benefit and I guess we could live without it.
  9. Meh, make it a legacy-wide unlock and a mil would be fine. Heck, I'd pay a mil per char to have this. I'd pay 5mil per char to speed harvesting up, but I can see that this would help harvesting bots a lot.
  10. Heh, I thought it's actually the hardcore gamers that are more complaining about the old system? You know, the ones playing 20 hours a day, 7 days a week with command levels around 200, and only a single set piece to show for all those boxes? The tokens come out of the same boxes that you got before and you earn the boxes the same way (ignoring changes to CXP rewards, because this is about the rewards themselves), so not sure how giving you a guaranteed reward you want is "insta".
  11. Used to be: - PvE with its own currency (tokens) and PvE gear bought with that currency - PvP with its own currency (WZ comms) and PVP gear bought with that currency - GSF with its own currency (... fleet ... points., I forget what's it called) and gear (ship components and upgrades) bought with that currency Now: - PvE and PvP share currency (CXP) and gear (CXP boxes, no EXP gear anymore) - GSF shares currency with PvP and PvE (CXP), as well as having its own currency and its own "gear" Obviously! Obviously, we need to add GSF currency and gear (like tokens to unlock the Hvy Laser?) to CXP boxes, because we're not disintegrating enough yet! But seriously, GSF getting some bonus CXP to entice people is ok by me. I'd love to see some ranked/unranked system, so newbs like me don't get farmed all match long, while we are still trying to work out how to fly the damn thing. Imagine playing a WZ and every wall you run into is like the fence at Master Blaster.
  12. Armormech and Synthweaving lets you make armors, but the look isn't too fancy. Dyes come from Artifice crafting, though you need grind a lot of reputation on a number of factions to get "better" recipes. Artifice and Armstech make weapons. To get the fancier looks for armors, weapons, and dyes, though, you have to hit the Cartel Market. Either buy the item off the CM, or possibly the GTN, or get lucky from a cartel pack. No. If you can RE a purple it gets you another, better purple. Offhand, I can't say whether the look of a piece changes between different grades. Reputation vendors sell some dye schematics. Treasure hunting and investigation gives you a few schematics for artifice and armstech, respectively. Nothing crazy good or good looking here, though. You can buy these schematics fairly cheaply on the GTN. Most top level purple mats, e.g. from slicing, sell pretty well. Check the GTN. Slicing also gives you missions sometimes, which sell well, depending on the type. And the guy from this post has a bunch of nice guides that explains crafting, RE'ing, making money, etc.
  13. I don't even care about the /stuck's that kill me. I do absolutely f-ing HATE the CD on /stuck! I must be missing the obvious, please, someone enlighten me to the purpose of the CD. Does executing /stuck twice in a row without a CD cause some glitch in the game that gives your character a million credits?? And before you cite the game to me, yes, you can QT if you get stuck somewhere without being able to /stuck, UNLESS THE TERRAIN GLITCH GETTING YOU STUCK IS CAUSING YOU TO FLOAT OR SLIDE IN PLACE AND THE GAME TELLS YOU YOU CAN USE THAT SKILL WHILE MOVING. Even logging doesn't help here, you just come back to the stuck place. Sometimes, if you log enough times, the game finally puts you into a spot where you can QT, or after all the logging in and out the /stuck CD is finally up.
  14. Isn't this what the Grand Chance Cubes are for? Getting old items no longer available through the CM. Disclaimer: I wholeheartedly condemn adding the GCCs into cartel packs. I wholeheartedly endorse putting GCCs onto the CM as a separate item.
  15. I was just stating another general use of purple mats, since that's what the OP was asking about.
  16. Also: when's the next time BW will lower the cost or have a sale on the CM for transfers, coz, damn, man, 1,000cc is a lot!
  17. Also, don't vaccines protect you from getting sick, but do nothing if you are already sick. /nitpic I think dying also gets rid of it when you revive next time.
  18. Hehe, that was my number one reason for not using my Tatooine SH, until I discovered that the exit button was present in SHs as well.
  19. Just go and borrow ideas from other games. I heard it's worked out very nice for some game. Some mechanics: Over time and by special mechanics, reducing the size of the space available for the raid to move in. Interrupt management, LoS, forced movements (rotating laser) Add management, raid-wide damage, random character with temporary "save the raid" ability to avoid one-shot Multiple bosses that are fought in pairs, where each bosses individual ability create a new, deadly combo in each pair. Debuff spreading, damage splits. Tank rotation between multiple bosses, area rotation for DPS and healers Temporary new abilities Heal NPC challenges Enviromental hazards that e.g. affect movement, like a patch of ice
  20. The purple mats also used by higher end conquest items, and some do pull nice numbers. I think other disciplines can make these, not just synthers, but I'm not in game right now to check.
  21. Sure, but it's not like it's taking up space, unless you frequently browse your collection.
  22. Ambitious Warrior set. I think for Jedi there is a craftable orange chest piece that looks the same, but for Sith you have to get the AW set. Preview
