  1. actually agree. hit 50 on vanguard friday at 48 ish valor. 58 valor now full t1 with t2 main and off hands. had a lot of time this weekend, valor grind and gearing now is way faster than it was on my first toon.
  2. You have 2 instant stuns, a short cd interrupt and a ranged interrupt (harpoon). Elara also has a hold power. Killing them wasn't hard at all, just focus only one and keep most of its heals from firing. No wonder why half the people in wz's don't know how to kill a healer.
  3. Try setting the affinity in task manager to one individual core for each of the two game processes. I saw no noticeable loss in performance when doing so. >2 thread lol.
  4. is there a handicap bonus to your ranking for playing with downsy pugs?
  5. No, I spent since launch running the game on an 8 core 2.8 xeon (heaps of ram, ssd, 560ti, win 7 x64, aero off, xp3 compatibility checked, etc, etc, etc). Always with cpu and gpu usage meters up on an extra screen. The game never utilized all 8 cores. Typically in large illum fights my fps would be 4-8 fps with the utilization meters sitting <25% for both cpu and gpu. Never in those instances would one individual core be maxed. I just put together an i5 with the 560ti and with barely a bump in clock speed and 4 less cores it runs the game much better. The game mutithreads sure, but it certainly wasn't effectively utilizing more than a couple cores.
  6. The fact you found teleport foe overpowered in cox makes the rest of your post invalid. You are bad op. That is all.
  7. if i'm going to spend a big chunk of the match defending a point solo then you're gosh darn right i'm going to make sure i pick the low hanging fruit (2.5k, 5k, 75k). lol forum editing to gosh damn.
  8. Pretty sure i'm free to spend my money wherever i want, or are you my master? Loving the star wars nuts. You guys are so serious. This game is a lot like the prettiest dennys waitress. Totally bangable even sober most of the time, but at the end of the day, still a dennys waitress.
  9. If i wanted a great story i'd read a book or watch a movie. Saying the story here is great is like claiming schwartzenegger movies deserve screenplay oscars.
  10. False, won 2 matches tonight, still sitting at 1/3.
  11. Leather seats in a kia. lipstick on a pig, voices in a poorly optimized $200 million dollar budget mmo. any other ones out there?
  12. Are many douchebags too ignorant to appreciate that not everyone likes the same thing?
  13. Pretty sure fat chicks in game would turn away the 31.4% of the subscribers that are fat chicks in real life.
  14. The voice acting would have been cool and all if with that $200 mil budget they put some more of the money into a better engine/client. Voice acting ontop of an engine that runs like **** is like pimping a 90s hyundai. Maybe it'll get you blown by a fat chick in a supermarket parking lot, and thats cool if you're into that kind of thing. But its still a turd.
  15. Difference is that $400 emachine probably has a pci-e slot now days. and has been seen by many users, this crappy engine in its current state of optimization needs more than the stated minimum, getting back to my point. If it diverts progress on un****ing the current sole client that they were unable to get right with a $200 mil budget, than no. Otherwise, yes, yes, yes.
  16. No, I think it would be great to have an os x client. Theres just bigger fish to fry. Primarily how much of a turd the only current client is. If theres only a given pool of resources to devote to the client/engine as a whole I'd rather see them allocated to where they could have the greatest effect. The majority of apple systems i'd argue are running some sort of integrated or low level mobile "discrete" graphics. Really mac pro excluded only the top end imac has anything ahead of an ati 67xx. I had installed the game onto a new macbook pro (ihd 3000) on a fresh bootcamp install, spec wise it should have been plenty "capable". At complete minimums it still couldnt run an acceptable fps. I love apple stuff as much as the next uppity ***** waiting in a launch day line. But that in mind, macs that are capable of good gaming are really in the minority.
  17. For years i played cox at a high level (organized pvp) using a ps2 controller and joy 2 key. Glad to see its being done here too. Anyone running into a lack of buttons? I used to use modifiers, dpad and whatnot to get enough in that game, but it seems like here it just wouldn't be feasable on many characters. After accounting for l/r click, target and jump I didn't think there would be enough buttons left over. On the melee warrior class I don't see lack of buttons being much of an issue, but my seer on the other hand, just seems like there wouldn't be nearly enough.
  18. To be realistic, if you look at the real word requirements for this game, i.e. what actually is required to run it well considering the horrid optimization not the stated required minimum, and compare it up against the os x systems in use today with adequate video hardware the perspective number of customers would probably be pretty low. The mac pro users are on their own splendid elitist island. We can run the same video cards that a pc takes (in windows, not necessarily in os x), even crossfire/sli not that it matters in a game like this, pretty much everyone else is up **** creek with nothing better than a mobile ati solution available. Can a 15 year old kid or fat angry dude **** on a particular brand out of ignorance on the internet? Hell yes, and for 95% of the macs out there they're right with regard to gaming. Are there some macs out there that can make great rigs for everything including gaming. Yup, but the price is a hell of a barrier to entry, and no one will deny for gaming only a pc could be built far cheaper. Is an os x client a good idea when they cant even get a 32 bit windows client working right? No
  19. I would love an os x client. Booting into windows means not having access to os x for work use. It makes me far less productive, and a hollow shell of a person, especially on a day without a super frappe douchelate. Seriously though, as much as I would love an os x client so i could import documents and keep up with bookkeeping while waiting in que, it isn't happening till they un**** the 32 bit windows client. Its horribly optimized and needs a lot of work.
  20. One thing that killed me on the 7970 for now was people here that posted of upgrading to one and still having the same dips horrible optimization is horrible. just looking at utilization tells you something is wrong. I keep meters for the cpu cores and gfx on a secondary screen, rarely if ever do things really push the usage %. A gaming i7 may be nice, really would only have to pick up cpu, ram, mb with the other parts I have here, maybe a ps.
