  1. You can also turn off the "receive notifcation for expensive items" or something like that option in your preferences.
  2. Are you abilities set to "fire" on key PRESS or key RELEASE? Also, what's your ability queue time set at? I apologize if I missed that in these posts somewhere. I scanned them all but didn't read word for word... I'm at work.
  3. I am Jedi Seer - 32/7/2 for the most part (PvE and PvP- I respec often). This spec applies to all of my response. 1A. In PvE: A versatile healer that brings many tools to the table; a healer who's resource pool is longer than other healing classes' 1B. In PvP: Enemies seem to view me as a priority target; (pug) teammates seem to think I can heal myself while also healing them while I take incoming damage. 2A. In PvE: A versatile healer, particularly strong aoe heals. I perceive us as pretty balanced here; we lack a strong single target heal for emergencies (i.e. fast) but we make up for that in AoE heals; we pair well with other healing specs. I enjoy having a strength and relative weakness. 2B. In PvP: I perceive the seer spec as a "double health-dipper" in pvp; we wear the lighest armor in the game and must use our own HP to sustain our resource during drawn out fights. Some warzones this literally lasts an entire round/5-8 minutes. I do not perceive this to be fun in PvP. (In PvE, I find resource management a fun andchallenging component). I'd expect a "health-sapping" resource mechanic to be paired with a higher armor/survivability class/spec, not a lower armor class/spec. One little tidbit (sorry I must add), I feel like Confound and Egress talents were great ideas but need the numbers altered. Ideas: Give egress a longer duration or a much higher speed buff; AND/OR give confound a much higher debuff to speed (reduce the duration to compensate). This would require less reworking of our overall tree.
  4. Hello all, Does the defense stat affect deflection/dodge/parry of both ranged and melee attacks? If so, how come hovering over the "defense" stat in the inventory shows only ranged defense? At least for me anyway. I'm not a tank but trying to learn more about tanking stats. Thanks in advance for your time.
  5. Does the PvP training dummy have 0% defense chance as you mentioned? I don't have the dummy myself so I am unaware, but I have always wondered that about it. I will probably purchase this perk soon.
  6. Interestingly, as a Seer healer, I feel that there are rarely any tanks in my pug warzones... so if I get a target marker put on me by the enemy team i get creamed over and over. I'm sure plenty of tanks and healers do pug warzones... but you experience a lack of healers and I experience a lack of tanks. It's probably just coincidence. WTB more tankage
  7. Is there still sharding of the lower level planets? If so I imagine that would help and that they intended for that spawn rate. I always imagined that Bioware envisioned that people would harvest nodes while leveling while also supplementing with sending companions out on missions (which costs credits). No clue if that's actually how they intended, I guess that's just what I figured. For the record, I too have noticed competition for nodes. I guess I have just tried to capitalize on it by selling them for higher on the GTN and making a profit off of sending my missions out.
  8. The website comes down tonight at midnight. Tomorrow also happens to be the 7 month anniversary since SWTOR's launch; I've had a hunch the website coming down is related to a world event being put into the game very soon (if not tonight). Just my prediction, we'll see if it happens. If not I'm sure they'll have one sometime soon and I can't wait
  9. Nice detective work! I hope a dev sees this. Not necessarily so the guy you quoted will get in "trouble" (he probably doesn't realize you aren't supposed to get BH comms for this); I just hate to think how many people could be getting "free" comms this way.
  10. That would make sense to me too
  11. I have a question to add here as well. If you are doing a mission from a schematic, can it crit? Since you're already getting a lot more reward for using a mission schematic... can it still crit for more than it normally would?
  12. The Sage's version of balance does not provide any melee benefits that I'm aware of; it's different than the Shadow's version. @OP, to answer your question, the lightsaber is good for deflecting blaster bolts and such. I also use mine occasionally to damage bosses when I have a few spare moments and want to save my force power for healing. It's a free attack.
  13. Do you happen to remember some of the ridiculous quotes? I honestly remember thinking the same exact thing the first time I heard it... but now I can't remember the lines. The voice didn't bother me so much as the completely mood-breaking word choice themselves.

    Pt op

I am curious how many people follow this strategy. It's completely legit - and I'm not judging. I just enjoy my character (Jedi Seer) and couldn't imagine myself re-rolling anytime we were knocked to the bottom of the nerf totem pole. I mean I guess if getting the highest rating on your server is the most important it makes sense to roll the technically "best" class in the game at that time, but the nerf bat will come back around eventually to knock that OP class down. Anyway, I was just wondering if I'm the only one who keeps my main as my main as nerfs come and go.
  15. I think your point is well-taken regarding the server lag and how it is actually negatively affecting gameplay. That being said, was all of the details involving how lag made your team lose really necessary? If the servers are lagging in Huttball, it should b affecting everyone, which would mean they had the same disadvantage. Again, i agree with you that this lag needs to be addressed ASAP.
  16. Reminded me of the "epic" weapons from the days of Everquest. This of course brought a big smile to my face
  17. OP - are you using the group finder to find teammates for the lower level content? I use it on my alts and it's great for finding others that are questing on the same planets as me, or for flashpoints. Regarding the solo-aspect of the game. It does seem more and more MMO's are incoporating more solo content into the genre. Whether this is good or bad is up to interpretation - everyone has their own opinion on it. Personally I enjoy content that requires teamwork, so if the MMO genre heads further in the solo direction I may re-subscribe to one of the older games that fit my style more... or worse... give up MMO's altogether in favor of online console games. I don't think the amount of ease/solo content is inherently bad... I just don't prefer it so it's not very desirable to me. I can understand why many people enjoy their solo content though.
  18. OP, if your question is asking what we think about the idea of missions affecting later missions, I am definitely on board. I think it'd be awesome if choices you made on Tython affect your later story options. I worry it would be too complex for the devs to create... but if it were possible... I'd love that kind of dynamic storyline.
  19. I feel the same way except with Qyzen! I also agree with Deedre, Nadia is extremely clingy and worship-y. I turned her down after flirting with her once because of how clingy she became. Dear god, I'd rather romance Iresso at this point than Nadia.
  20. I've done some testing... and armor shades seem to be affected by a few different things I've noticed: The skin tone you pick The hair color you pick Possibly darkside corruption (which affects your skin tone). You can test this out by using different companion customizations while a character (try nadia) is wearing armor. You can see that certain skin tones and hair colors are more associated with certain armor shades. I don't know if there's much you can do for now to fix it, but these are some things I noticed.
  21. As a Jedi Seer with a "dispel" ability, I am ok with roots being allowed and/or not respecting resolve. I completely understand others may have a different view, especially melee, so I can respect that view as well. I can only speak from my own perspective, where as a healer that is on the ball, I can dispel many mechanics in PvP that others choose not to dispel, don't know they can dispel, or some other reason... so I think it gives a strategic edge in many cases.
  22. I agree 100%; and I come from a server where Republic is outnumbered by Imperials. I don't mind it at all getting ganked sometimes... the few times I can get revenge is well worth it. This is why I rolled on a PvP server and, as much as I sincerely empathize with the OP, I cannot say that I feel the same way as he. To me, that would be the perfect opportunity to call in friends/guildies to help you out, leading to a small-scale skirmish inthe open world (which is exactly the type of open world PvP I like).
  23. I just want to encourage people to, if they get a chance, carry out some of your stat testing on the training dummies on the fleet ships. It can be time and money-consuming, but I feel that the overall amount of information about SWTORs stat system is lackluster. I try to farm data myself but most people aren't interested in healing data, and they want DPS. If you do testing on the training dummies and have math to report your findings, please report it over in your class forums here on swtor.com. The more sharing/discussing/debating we have going on about stats, the more (in my opinion) positive dissemination of information is for all players involved to make informed choices. I am one of those who is guilty of trying to google stat information to min/max my gear... but since there isn't a ton of hard data out there, I've become pretty involved in training-dummy testing, and I am finding it very useful to back up my opinions with math when people try to tell me "x stat is better than y stat at z%." If you can manipulate specific stats in your testing (i.e., ONLY changing one stat at a time and holding everything else equal), you can become one of the better people on your server; it will give you an advantage over the "average" player who is trying to scour google for the best stat caps and rotations.
  24. As 8 man rateds have now entered the picture, I believe the reasoning for taking out burst relics was to help compensate (even if it didn't help too much) for the fact that 8 man premades are likely going to be very good at focus firing. Therefore, I suppose BW thought some burst damage needed to be toned down. As much as I hate the change to adrenals/relics myself, let's keep in mind that they could have nerfed individual classes instead. Given the option of nerfing classes vs. nerfing the relics/adrenals, I think the relics/adrenals was a better place to start. If damage is too low they can revert the change without much consequence. A nerf, however, is almost never completely reverted when it is done to classes (it may be altered). I think if there had to be changes, going with consumables is a good place to start before class changes are made.
