  1. Thank you, my friend. This is exactly everything I cry out as I PVP, especially your thoughts on knockbacks, Ravage and Series of Shots. Well put.
  2. PVP needs it's own LFG finder, plus, they need a solo queue that allows you to select your role when you queue up so that balance can be created on each team. Then you won't end up with the team unbalance that occurs that causes the complete wiping of the unbalanced team.
  3. I like the game, personally. Some don't like it, and that's ok, too. Why do we need to go on and on with endless threads regarding who likes what? Look at the forums/comments for any game/product out there, and you will read complaints and good reviews. Read Goldilocks for that matter - "This porridge is too hot. This porridge is too cold. This one's just right". I'm sure she got on the forums and complained a blue streak about the inconsistent porridge and sleeping accommodations at the three bears house, and then the three bears ranted on how unforgiving Goldilocks was for not allowing them some more time to get it right. Enjoy or unenjoy, but stop trying to convince each other to switch sides.
  4. Your fears are unfounded. Queues are nearly non-existent. They may re-occur for a short time when new content is introduced, but it really isn't an issue. I've waited longer at the DMV, or Costco, or wherever. Are you the person who is honking the horn at the toll booth? Yelling for more checkers in the supermarket? Racing around people in the fast lane who were going 75mph to begin with? Besides, having full servers is so much better than a ghost town.
  5. Simple solution - Give new 50's a free set of "Recruit" PVE gear, much like the PVP gear one gets. Or, let them choose one or the other (PVP or PVE) and make them buy the other if they want it (using credits, not cash).
  6. Your right, I'll stop playing the game immediately. I find it interesting that a benign question would cause annoyance, but everyone has their button, I guess. To everyone else, thanks for your thoughts. I'm often playing PVP, at range, and when I do get someone on me I tend to kite, not slash away with my saber. My purpose is to try to cause as much damage as possible (DPS spec) and wear down the attacker as quick as I can, or at least hold them off and wait for help. Using the saber isn't part of what I rotate to in these occasions, which is why I asked the question. I guess it does have limited uses in PVE.
  7. Outside of the boost in skill points, of course. I don't know why it's even an option. Defense, I guess, but even that's a joke. Perhaps one lightsaber skill that would fit the playstyle of the sage (a throw would be nice) to make it seem more like a jedi. Any thoughts?
  8. Agree. I've done well sometimes in 50's PVP with the DPS Sage, but most Marauders and Operatives target me over and over again. Very frustrating to get pulled into a group of 3-4 people and get beat up on constantly. The worst is Novara Coast (or whatever it's called). The other warzones can be better, but overall I enjoyed playing my assassin and operative more than the sage.
  9. I once saw one of the most respected PVP players on my old server run the wrong way with the ball, and apologize for doing so (we still scored on that possession, so it wasn't so bad!). Mistakes happen to everyone, whether they admit it or not.
  10. I love playing my sage - So much fun frustrating the melee characters as they go in for their "easy" kill. However, I'm always impressed by the amount of damage the really good snipers can put out, and how high their crits are. I'm going to roll a gunslinger/sniper to see what it's like.
  11. Great post describing disposable gamers. I personally see this pattern happening with every game from now on - Short attention spans and a lack of commitment to anything will hurt MMO's in general. It's also the law of diminishing returns - The first MMO was great, and the second is good, but not as great as the first. Then each subsequent MMO you play is less satisfying, because you get tired of the same thing over and over. Thank goodness this is my first MMO!
  12. Yeah, I did that when I first started playing as well. Just figured it out on my own one day, after getting frustrated with it.
  13. Time and again I see members of my own team or the other deal go to great lengths not to die in a warzone. It got me thinking about what was best...to die or not to die in a warzone? I'm not saying that you shouldn't fight it out to your last bit of health, but should you do everything in your power to run away and hide when it may be hurting your team in the long run? I die anywhere from 4-10 times in a warzone (sage), but I feel that each death has a purpose. I'd much rather delay 3 players of the opposing team to getting an objective and die than run away and try to stay alive, or hide behind an object as they cap the node. Sometimes, you need to get out there and sacrifice yourself for the good of the team or the objective. (Fighting one on one is different - you should be fighting to stay alive and win, so I'm not speaking to this type of gameplay). Your thoughts? I'm not pointing to either method as right or wrong (though I have stated my own opinion on the matter), but I'd find it interesting to read your comments. Thanks!
  14. Yes, the very first part of the Sith Inquisitor storyline (the competition to be Zash's apprentice), the purebred Sith competitor looked exactly like my character. It was my first time playing the game and I thought that it was supposed to be that way (no way I created a character and then I see one that looks like me!). I thought it would turn out to be my twin or something. Nope.

    OP Operatives

Stealth classes are supposed to be annoying, that's their best asset. They get on you right when you think you are going to get that huttball pass, or stun someone capping the door/turret, or when you think you are healing alone. A great stealther finds these opportunities often. You have to anticipate them when you realize you've got a good one in your game, and hunt for them.
