  1. I am getting a similar issue, but it occurs while I am playing. I get kicked to the server list with no servers available. I am immediately able to log back in with no problems...but it's quite an annoyance. I had never happened to me before and I started playing in early access. I am quite certain it is not my connection, and it just happened to me again while I had a running ping going to launchpad.swtor.com. I have 0% packet loss to that address even when I get the error. So far it has happened about 9 times in 3 hours of play, all today. meh
  2. I guess I wouldn't mind it so much if the story was more interesting. I don't really care for the characters in it, and some of the chapters seem drawn out to the point of tedium, while others seem like they are over all too quickly. There is no real companion interaction anymore either outside of the story missions. Because of that, I couldn't care less if most of them live or die. With the story elements that have unfolded in the most recent couple of chapters it seems as though they are pulling plot ideas out of a hat. Then there is the combat. Instead of making it more challenging and interesting, they just throw in gimmicks and bosses who chain stun you. I am pretty sure it is nigh impossible to die in most of the boss fights. Personally I would rather have a fight that has at least some chance of killing me over one that forces me to use a bunch of different temporary abilities to get through it, but never have any real threat of dying.
  3. Some of the companion heal/buff effects completely obscure my character. I have gotten to the point that I just don't use certain companions depending on their effects. Half the time I look like a glowing green or white orb with a lightsaber occasionally poking out. They need to be toned down quite a bit.
  4. +1 to this. I have been hoping to see this fixed for years now.
  5. I don't know if I could rank what I dislike the most, so here are a few things that take away from the enjoyment. Excessive forced combat - When I am sneaking around in stealth-mode, it is highly irritating to have sky troopers aggro me from 100 yards away, making it tedious to get through zones when you have to fight every 50 feet. Locking assets behind game modes that I will never play - It said I had to play 20 PvP matches... I have been playing this game since early access...and have never played PvP.....and never will. Same with world bosses...unless they add a solo mode. Skytroopers! - Not much to say on this one, a little variety would be nice though. Companion interactions - I can't really say I have much to care about any of the new companions...as I only ever get to talk to them during story quests. The base game companions you could talk to when you returned to the ship...so you get to know them...have a more meaningful romance (if you wish)..etc. Some companions that I initially hated in the base game I grew to like/love the more I talked with them. Of course, If they did add more companion interactions they would probably be one-sided KoToR styled anyhow...which kills a lot of the enjoyment for me. Some of the story missions themselves feel like they were designed out of the desire to irritate players rather than make them enjoyable. I won't go into details as I don't want to give any spoilers...but making my way through a certain ship had me bashing my head off of my keyboard by the end of it. I have a lot of issues with the story itself...but that is for another day.
  6. The first time in over a week I get a few hours to myself with the intent of getting some quality game time in.... only to log in and see that the servers are going down in 10 minutes....figures. Well....there is always next week....I hope...
  7. I really hope they fix the issue. I don't have a mobile device and my physical security key worked fine up until today.
  8. I would like the opportunity to turn Ashara Zavros to the darkside...properly....or kill her (with lightning) if she does not abandon her pathetic jedi ways completely....
  9. I agree OP. I will use Rift for an example of how to do F2P right (because thats the only other game I play that has gone F2P from a sub model). In Rift, since I previously bought the game, and the expansion....when it went free to play I lost NOTHING in terms of features or content. New players still have to purchase unlocks, but those who had paid do not. They added new features that I can still pay for to add to my experience, but playing without a sub was the same exact experience I had before they went F2P. In TOR i tried out the F2P when it first came out after having been a preorder player (digital deluxe version), and I got a pathetically crippled game, couldn't access any of my alts, quickbars gone...etc.
  10. I'll never forget my first trip into deep space, and approaching the star destroyer. At one point I figured I was close enough to hit it with my blasters (around 700m I think)...only to realize I was still 5 kilometers away :S. I loved the space combat in galaxies. Although the game is long dead, if someone were to release the space portion even as a stand alone game with nothing else....I would buy it.
  11. I would be all for this. +1 Way back in the day, there was this game called Star Wars Galaxies that had a version of this that worked out well. Basically, if you killed (or ganked) some one in open world PVP, they could place a bounty on you. Bounty hunters could then check a terminal and pick up bounties. A bounty hunter could attack their bounty without any pvp flagging, although once they did both were flagged (I think...been awhile) and the bounty could fight back. Likewise, a smuggler could check and see who had bounties on them (of which they usually charged a price) and remove the bounty. I remember being cornered on near Restuss with my Jedi and having 2 Bounty hunters after me. One tried to take me down near our guild safe house, and was promptly destroyed by some of my guildmates, the other chased me to the star port where I launched into space in my heavy x-wing. This was his fail, because although he would have likely pwned me on the ground, I had my rebel master pilot license in space, and it didn't take too long to blow him out of the air. Of course, he found me on Tatooine a few days later and got his bounty :S Sorry for going off on a tangent, but just an example of how fun a proper bounty system can be. If they did decide to implement one, they should definitely make it so that you cannot just put a bounty on anybody you wish. There would have to be some criteria that would have to be met first.
  12. Rift does this quite well actually. They give you the ability to "mentor" lower level players, but setting your level down to theirs. You retain all your skills, but your power and stats are reduced to match those of the level you have scaled down to. It's a brilliant idea really, as is the removal of "tagging" mobs for ownership.
  13. I think I wouldn't mind dailies so much if the rewards were worth the amount of time you sink into them.
  14. +1 for this idea. Especially when leveling an alt of the same faction. I have already done the planet quests, and doing them over and over again gets tedious fast. Perhaps make it a token, that gives you 48 hours from activation of double XP, that continues to count down while logged out of the game. That way those who don't want it don't have to use it.
  15. I understand what the OP is saying. To me much of the game feels tedious. I love the individual story lines and I feel this is an area where TOR stands above all the rest, and I don't mind a challenge (which is why I love the souls games). However, the meager rewards in TOR rarely make the challenge worth it. I also find gearing out my companion while leveling to be a burden. They really should have supplied your companions with gear that levels with them, never the best gear for their level, but adequate enough that you don't have to hunt down gear for them every 5 levels or so, so that they don't get creamed by 2 strong enemies(not elite enemies, of which there seems to be an over abundance in the later zones). Star Wars is supposed to be epic, but TOR rarely ever feels that way.
  16. While I don't experience most of the problems the OP does, I do agree with the love/hate thing. I love it because hey, it's Star Wars, and I have been a Star Wars junkie my whole life...and due to that I suffer through this game. So I come back and sub for a month (because the F2P model in this game has to be one of the worst I have ever encountered....hey EA/Bioware...take a look at Rift for how to do F2P... you could learn a thing or two.), only to get annoyed with the game in short order. I overlook most of the bugs, but there are a few that really piss me off. The stuck in combat bug being one of them. Today I encountered it where it persisted even after killing the process with task manager, AND killing my toon and rezzing. Aside from bugs, a lot of the game design just seems rushed and sloppy ....although at first I did find it humorous to watch my taxi shuttle fly through the side of a mountain, at least they no longer have the chance of killing us along the way. My head clips through the back of my hood when I ride a speeder where my sith leans forwards to ride. Any time one of my toons makes a certain expression I can see through their eyelids. My speeder is slower than my horse in every other MMO. Upgrading gear while leveling is a chore...especially since you have to gear out your companions aswell...this tends to have me with 1 companion with gear...and the rest I have never bothered to use...because gear in this game is tedious...and most of it is friggin ugly. Most of this stuff is not major, I know...but I don't get the blind reverence to this game that some people have... Of course, there was a study that showed fanboy's (or girls) suffer from low self esteem...which is why they blindly jump to defend their product, however flawed it is... And don't get me started on the space fail-shooter. Hell, galaxies...which was a decent but not great sandbox MMO that was turned into a ****** themepark MMO....but had a space portion that makes this look like something Uwe Boll would create. bleh
  17. If you could at least vendor the junk...it wouldnt be so bad.... Stop with the crafting mats...you have made crafting useless already.
  18. It is due to a thing called anonymity.... It's easy to be a d-bag when people don't know who you are.
  19. Not a fan of the cone effect over the 360....but i can learn to deal with it....just makes the spell less useful for me. However, the animation is horrible.....they kept the old animation..but made the spell fire instantly...and just sped up the old animation. If anything...just change the animation..from a jump.....to maybe just slamming the ground with your palm....it could be done quicker so as to not look retarded. After being gone from the game for so long...I wasn't prepared for it to look less polished than when I left...
  20. They were mildly amusing for a bit. I usually found myself impatient for it to be over most of the time though. I'm not really big on rail shooters anyhow, meh. In SWG I played up through my rebel master's license, and had a blast doing it....with FRIENDS!. Almost a decade later and we get a mini game....lol. Eh, to each their own, if you like the space missions in TOR, all the power to ya, but they are not for me.
  21. Exactly, I am 1 of those 400,000, and my reasons had nothing to do with 1.2 No, my "stuff" is not up for grabs, I'll need it when i return.
  22. Well, since I have no interest in raiding (I have in the past, but the fun factor wore off quick), and I don't pvp (I save my player killing urges for other genres). Alts are my end game. This holds true for other MMOs I have played. Until someone comes up with some new kind of "endgame" content for MMOs, this is how it will be for me. If raiding rewarded you with new skills or skill trees, then I would be more interested.
  23. I agree with the OP, you should only need on companion gear if no other player in the group can use the item. Every time myself or one of my guild mates are in a group and someone ninjas for their companion, we kick them and add them to our ignore lists. We then share the ninjas name with other guilds that we associate with and they all add the person to their ignore aswell. Sure enough, we seem to get a lot fewer of those players anymore.
  24. On my sith pure-blood: Dark 2 - 4 I was a pale pink color (I call this the "show helmet" phase) But at dark 5 there is no longer any shade of red or pink on my face, just corpse grey/white with veins.
