  1. It's a lose-lose situation. In order to get to tier 3 (if you don't put points into Overpower - which you shouldn't, because it's CRAP) you need either Endless Rage or Brutality. Endless rage is fine if you're using Shii-Cho form, but thanks to the forsaken Alacrity bonus there isn't much point using Shii-cho now either. I'm rolling Soresu form with Rage now, so i just chose Brutality so i could continue going up the skill tree. Whichever is the least bad to you is the one you'll have to choose. Rage has been nerfed something shocking....i don't know what the hell they were thinking.
  2. This is my Rage skill tree.

    I'm using Soresu form with it instead of Shii-Cho. I used to use Shii-cho before 1.2, but now that the alacrity skill has been taken away, there's really not much point. If you use Soresu, you sacrifice 3% damage for an extra 3% damage reduction from Soresu form. It works really properly well, as long as you can manage your Rage. Your damage is almost exactly the same, but you get the Soresu armour bonus.

    If you wanted to use Shii-Cho with this build, you could take the point out of Unyielding and put it into Endless Rage. I honestly reckon it's better to use Soresu though. Especially in PvP for the guard skill.

  3. Is your companion doing much damage? Do you have a shield equipped? Are you using all your defensive abilities? If you're doing all that, there shouldn't be a problem unless your armour is really, really bad or something. Especially if you're using Quinn.

    For the record, you don't need Quinn. Quinn is easy mode, basically. Jaesa does just fine with a tank Jugg. If you can keep her alive for long enough, she destroys. And she likes evil! What a woman!

  4. As Dawnsire and Riot said, they're both pretty much the same. Assassin uses Force where Jugg uses Rage, and that's about all the difference i can tell. I guess it would mainly depend on if you like the look of the rage units over the force meter :D

    The only constructive thing I have to say is that double-bladed sabers do more damage than single bladed ones, Assassins get stealth which is very cool, and Juggs get a lot of cool skill tree bits that make life a little easier.

  5. Mate, Marauders can't be tanks. Marauder/Sentinel is 100% DPS only.

    These are the tank classes and their tank skill trees:

    Trooper-->Vanguard (Shield Specialist)

    Jedi Consular-->Jedi Shadow (Kinetic Combat)

    Jedi Knight-->Jedi Guardian (Defense)

    Bounty Hunter-->Powertech (Shield Tech)

    Sith Inquisitor-->Sith Assassin (Darkness)

    Sith Warrior-->Sith Juggernaut (Immortal)

    If by "shield" you mean defensive ability, then Marauders/Sentinels on the whole have more defensive abilities, but that's because medium armour makes them squishier than a DPS Jugg/Guardian. Put it this way: if you find you're using defensive abilities a lot as a Marauder, you're probably better off playing as a Juggernaut.

    Hope this helps :)

  6. It looks to be pretty even now. I guess it all depends on your play style. Rage still suits me better, but i like seeing big numbers come up. But with rage losing the alacrity bonus, force choke going back to 1 minute cooldown, and vengeance getting the sundering throw ability, rage is definitely worse than before. Worst difference i've noticed so far has been that Rage Juggs can't use Force Choke as much as before, and it does sort of affect survivability when you can't CC more than once per minute. But only a little bit, it's not a game breaking difference.

    Vengeance Juggs do more damage now, so i guess it really depends entirely on if you like burst damage or consistant damage.

    The only way you can really know what's effective skills-wise is to try them out. This is what i've seen from my Focus Guardian and Rage Jugg (both at L50):

    Skills that extend Force Charge's immobilize, increase your movement speed or give you back Rage when you're immobilized, they're all pretty useless most of the time. Force Charge's immobilize only works on standard/weak enemies in PvE as far as i can tell, not in PvP at all. Increasing movement speed by 20% is a waste because you can slow everyone around you down by 50% with Chilling Scream, and by 90% with Force Crush. Why speed yourself up? No need to. And giving back Rage points when you're unconscious? It's not a horrible skill, but more often than not you'll be pretty dead or close to it by the time you're conscious again, so you're better off just doing more damage instead.

    Point is, don't waste points. Put them into more damage, because that's what Rage spec is all about. Pure, 100%, brutal burst damage. I use this for both PvP and PvE, only difference is I use Soresu in PvP until i have 4 protection medals. Every other time i use Shii-Cho.

    And gear for Surge and Power, Crit/Accuracy is optional. Everything else, avoid. If you do it like that or similar, and you're not coming first in 90% of warzones, there's really something wrong. I don't think i'm anywhere near some of the best players, and I easily dominated with Rage. It really is just about the best spec in the game (only my opinion). Only other suggestion is keep the threat away from yourself when facing Elites....you're not as tough as Immortal/Defense. Just send Jaesa/whoever out first for a few moments, then jump in.

    I hope that helps, and I hope you enjoy wiping out whole mobs in one hit and Elites in about 20 seconds :)

  8. I've got a L47 Vigilance spec Guardian, and i've been using Kira the whole time since i got her. Only times i've died while questing (when it wasn't my own fault for being lazy or ignorant) was on Tatooine when you have to fight the 3 marauders at the crashed ship. That ruined me pretty badly a couple of times, but i got thru it. Strange thing is i did it fine when i was a Sentinel (combat spec) at the same level. My point is though, i've never used a companion other than Kira except when i have to in order to advance a class story. Even then, i switch to Kira as soon as combat starts again. That goes for Sentinel as well as Guardian

    To be blunt, Sentinel was hard but not impossible, Vigilance Guardian is easy. You don't need Doc or a tank if you play it right. You don't even need to be good, just persistant and highly determined. From what i've seen of the other characters, Kira's the best for all the reasons outside of battle as well as all the in-battle stuff. Why choose anyone else when you'd get stuck with a turd like Doc or a meat-head like Rusk?

  9. I've never posted anything before so please be nice :)

    I played to L49 as a Sorcerer first, then L39 as a Sentinel, and am currently at L42 as a Guardian. So obviously i lack the endgame experience, but i can tell you what i've seen from what i've played.

    It seems to me that it all really depends on your play style, how you arrange your skills in the UI, and how used to all your abilities you get.

    Sorcerer i found to be ridiculously too hard, but it was the first time i'd played an MMO, and hanging back doing ranged healing and damage and hoping i don't get targeted is not my style at all.

    Sentinel was much easier in PvE, but in PvP i got destroyed because i lacked good enough armor to keep me alive long enough to do any damage. If you can stay alive, Sentinel does heaps of damage and is totally awesome.

    Guardian though...totally different. The heavy armor makes all the difference for me. PvE is easier most of the time (except Hoth...damn hard, i found), but the real difference is in PvP. As the Sorcerer and Sentinel, i would never score above middle in my team in warzones. There's only so many medals you can get for doing damage alone. Guardian does almost as much damage as Sentinel (maybe more, depends on your gear and spec), and it has heavy armor, and it has Guard. I never get less than 5 medals in warzones anymore, and regularly come 1st or 2nd on the list. I'm not all that good, either.

    When you consider there's classes like Commando that seem to do huge damage and have healing and heavy armor, Guardian does alright for itself. I agree that it definitely needs more/better stuns, not being able to do damage while stunning means Guardians have trouble against Operatives etc who can run around you all day stunning and doing little pecks of damage while you stand there waiting for resolute to finish CD. But for interrupts there's force leap, force push, force kick & stasis (you don't have to wait for it to channel if you're only interrupting). That's plenty. Plus, if you're Vigilance spec like me, you're hardly ever alive long enough to worry much about the cooldowns anyway. And if you are alive long enough, then you can't be doing that badly.

    Anyway saying one class is crap or another is better is really pointless because you might just be suited better to another class. Doesn't mean it's crap. Plenty of people are brilliant at Sorcerer and do really well in warzones etc, but i was totally horse at it. Now i'm doing well as a Guardian. Just keep playing until you find a class that suits you better :)

    And to anyone with a Sentinel character who is about to disagree with me, i only played to L39. I loved Sentinel, only reason i stopped playing it was because the server was crap and i couldn't find any armor to buy. They're both unbelievably good classes when played properly. I've seen a Sentinel in Alderaan Civil War take out 2 Sorcerers and a Powertech at the same time without dying. I can't do that, but it's got nothing to do with my class
