  1. Fair enough. Search function in top right corner. Got it. Never mind, Bioware. Maybe a delete thread button will suffice. Sorry i wasted your time.
  2. I haven't seen too much stuff on little suggestions, and certainly not many suggestion in one thread. So here we go. - Legacy: include married companions, and make a bigger deal out of the marriages. You barely notice them - Speeders: too slow, too late, too expensive. 35k + 8k at L25 is still too much, never mind speeder L2 - Heavy Armour: not all Jedi Knights want to wear full length caped and hooded robes. Especially not the women - Travel: there are still too many large areas where i can't use my speeder or find a bind point - Forums: search function. Maybe i would have found an existing thread on this - Mouse: window boundaries. i keep clicking on the 2nd monitor's desktop in critical moments. like warzones - Cantinas: ban fights in them. i hate going to voss and being killed 3 times whenever i enter the cantina - PvP Warzones: fix the medals system. it was meant to be fairer than before, but it's only fairer if you win and can guard - PvP Areas: i've never seen anyone in the open world PvP areas. put something in them. anything, even a wampa - PvP Queue: I want to know which warzone i'm about to enter BEFORE i enter it. When ranked warzones come out, my ranking will always be rubbish because i will NEVER play huttball. don't punish me for hating crudball - PvE enemy respawn: why must i be attacked by the entire imperial/republic army whenever i want to exit an area? - Mod Crafting: some endgame mods should be available to craft. nerf them if you want, but make them available. L49 Advanced Adept Enhancements in BM gear is just....sad - Planet Commendations: armouring/hilts are too expensive. 5 comms is enough, 7 is ridiculous. and has anyone else noticed that you can't buy L41 mods on Hoth (37-41), but you can on Balmorra (41-44)? (republic faction this is). That annoyed the hell out of me from L39 to L43 - Saber Colours: too rare, too expensive. i've never seen a black-purple power crystal, but i know they're in there somewhere - Endgame Gear: needs to better reflect the classes/specs who are actually using it. I know this will change with raised level cap, but at the moment BM gear for JK/SW has no surge rating. NO SURGE?!! Anyway that's 6 months of stuff i haven't heard many people suggesting already. All in all though, what a brilliant game!!
  3. Nautolan and Togruta: +++++++ I'd like to see Mon Cal, Rodian, Quarren, Geonosian, Rakata, Bothan, Neimoidian, Duros, Sullustan, Selkath, perhaps even Droid Species. That would be awesome, a Droid Vanguard. There's plenty of options. But i'd mainly like Mon Cal so i can say "It's a trap!" Agreed about Cyborgs too. Unless cybernetics render you sterile or change your DNA, i don't see why it can't be a facial feature that can be adjusted or turned off to taste. And if they do make you sterile, shouldn't cyborgs be more....promiscuous? It's not like there's birth control to worry about if you're infertile, after all You know it makes sense
  4. I don't mind the level cap being raised. I just want to know that i didn't pre-make all my purple hilts and raise loads of money and save up all my wz and rwz commendations and do everything as perfect as possible after 6 months of playing and researching my ideal spec/class for absolutely nothing at all. And if it was for absolutely nothing at all, then i want to know exactly what all the changes are prior to them being implemented, i want to know what my new skill tree will look like, what all the new abilities etc do, what all the new level cap items/armour will be and how i am supposed to get them, and how much of an impact it will have on my current characters or if i will have to totally re-roll them all from the start and forget that i ever knew anything about the game up until this point. Big question for me is what will happen to crafting?
  5. Ok the level cap thing i somewhat agree with. Bad idea to reward the first 6 months of L50 grinding by making everything L50 obsolete. Complete waste of time to even get a character to L50 anymore until 1.3 comes out. Brilliant work. Utterly useless. All of my characters are now a waste of my last 6 months. However, it's only 4 levels and it's not for a little while, so there's plenty of time for some reasonable explainations to surface about how we're not all going to be totally screwed by this. Bioware might be odd sometimes, but they aren't stupid. They'll sort this out. Cathar....should have been in the game from the beginning. It's not the most popular choice though.....i want to see a droid species lol that would be fantastic. Obviously there wouldn't be droid Jedi or Sith but it would be awesome to be a droid vanguard or something. Even the rodian, quarren, ithorian, iridorian, selkath or mon cal species would have been a better choice than cathar. A Mon Calamari Sith Juggernaut? Evil fish! Awesome! Can you imagine Jaesa hooking up with an evil fish? It can't be bad. Weird and disturbing maybe, but that's interesting nonetheless. I guess i just want the possibility of playing as a Mon Cal and getting to say "It's a trap!" Definitely looking forward to the Group Finder though. Long overdue.
  6. I understand level cap raising is just another part of MMOs, but that doesn't change the fact that all my artifice and moneymaking and L50 grinding and perfecting my gameplay style and spec etc was for nothing. All my L50 armor and equippables are useless now. And it definitely is a massive turn off knowing that anything you do in the game between now and 1.3 is going to be forfeit. Why start another character? You could miss out on a bunch of mad changes not announced yet for 1.3. And why grind at L50? All the items, armor, daily/black hole etc commendations, it's all probably going to be removed from the game, or the stuff you have will be useless because you won't be able to use it until you reach the level cap. My main gripe is that after playing a few characters to L50 i decided on Focus Guardian as my main. I made all purple hilts all the way to L49 and blue hilts for Kira in advance, helped the character out with some credit injections, saved up my ranked and normal wz commendations for some sweet BM gear, and basically had the whole thing planned from L1 to L50 so i could have the ultimate character. And now i find out it's been a massive waste of time. I don't know how they're going to implement it but they have one hell of a task involved to do it. Like i said, i understand it's part of the MMO world and it can't be helped, but a smooth transition should be an absolute must. No L50 player is going to enjoy finding that they're no better off after (sometimes) months of grinding than someone who hasn't even started playing yet. I just hope they have a good plan or there'll be a lot of unsubs, and there's been too many already. But that's a story for another thread. Please please please Bioware, just make it a good transition. I trust you know what you're all doing, so i'll wait until 1.3 comes out. But so help you if you get it wrong....so don't get it wrong. EDIT: just found out it's only a 4 level cap raise and the update isn't due for about 2 months. Still bad, but not as much possibility for error as i thought. Good luck, Bioware.
  7. No medals = no damage, no protection, no healing, no objectives, no nothing. Useless. Lots of medals = lots of damage, lots of protection, lots of healing, lots of objectives. Very useful. Unless Bioware say there is something wrong with a spec or a class, then the problem is the player.
  8. First and foremost, don't use Focus unless you're going to be doing AoE damage. It's not a good 1vs1 class, it's mostly good for support damage. Vigilance is the spec you want to pick if you're only ever fighting 1 person at a time. You can focus enemies down with Focus spec, but your primary job is to control the movement of, as well as weaken groups of enemies. Focus is a support spec. Since 1.2, Focus spec has been nerfed a little, but it's not gamebreaking. It's really not much different. The main changes are Combat Focus gives 6 focus without the need to spec into it, Swelling Winds only gives Force Sweep 20% more damage instead of 30%, Master Focus now increases Master Strike damage by 8%, Sundering Throw has been moved to Vigilance, and we now have the worst defensive ability ever (Focused Defense). Just also keep in mind that Vigilance is designed for 1vs1 combat and Focus is AoE. You'll never be able to focus down single opponents with Focus spec as well as Vigilance spec does. Just as you will never be able to deal with groups of enemies with Vigilance spec as well as Focus does. They each have their purpose, it's up to you to decide which spec better compliments your play style. If you're more interested in charging in and assisting everyone, then Focus is for you. If you're more interested in singling enemies out, go with Vigilance. And don't forget Soresu Form....your healers will thank you for protecting them.
  9. WIth enhancements there's only 2 types, and their icon reflects which type they are: red is for attack, green is for defense. If you're only doing PvE, i'd go for the Defense, Glance, Shield or Absorb ones. Have a look at these: http://www.torhead.com/item/fatGkR5/advanced-bastion-enhancement-28 http://www.torhead.com/item/11C7BE3/advanced-bulwark-enhancement-28 http://www.torhead.com/item/cwuoBRZ/advanced-immunity-enhancement-28 http://www.torhead.com/item/bmD9GEk/advanced-steadfast-enhancement-28 http://www.torhead.com/item/CuLgIV/advanced-sturdiness-enhancement-28 http://www.torhead.com/item/9DgmpFy/advanced-vigilant-enhancement-28 Ignore the whole 'Advanced' thing, and the number. It's the name (Bulwark, Bastion etc) that you need to pay attention to. It all depends entirely on which stats you're after, and there are plenty of Enhancements that also have a Surge, Power or Critical rating etc as well. Personally i'd go for the Sturdiness or Bulwark Enhancements.
  10. I know this is a bit of a thread revival, but other people may stumble upon this too. Out of the lightsaber classes, there's 3 very distinct roles, which can be further dissected depending on your playstyle etc: Tanking, DPS and Stealth. Jedi Guardian: DPS, Tank Jedi Sentinel: DPS Jedi Shadow: DPS, Tank, Stealth I've only played sentinels/marauders and guardians/warriors before so i can't comment as well on Shadows. If you're interested in being a tank, best are Kinetic Shadow and Defense Guardian. As far as purely tanks go, Kinetic Shadow does more damage most of the time. However i've seen some hybrid Guardian Tanks that can do some pretty impressive damage. As far as pure DPS goes you can't really go past a Sentinel. But DPS is quite broad and can be split into AoE and 1vs1, and even further into burst damage and sustained damage. All Shadows can use Stealth, but i believe it works better with Infiltration spec and Shadow Technique. I also believe that Sentinels have Force Camouflage which provides some measure of stealth as well (please correct me if i'm wrong, i haven't actually used it or anything). Infiltration Shadow: burst DPS Balance Shadow: sustained DPS Focus Sentinel/Guardian: AoE DPS Vigilance Guardian: 1vs1 DPS Combat Sentinel: 1vs1 DPS Watchman Sentinel: 1vs1 DPS w/DoT and self-heals Shadows and Guardians also have the advantage of being able to use Combat Technique (Shadows) or Soresu Form (Guardians). Combat Technique increases your armor rating by 150% and adds some internal damage to your hits. Soresu form increases your armor rating by 60% (keep in mind Guardians have heavy armor whereas Shadows have light armor) and both increase your shield chance by 15% for a total base stat level of 20%. It also gives you access to your Guard ability, which allows you to redirect and neutralise some of the incoming damage to one of your allies. A lot of players like to play a hybrid style. I myself have both a Focus Guardian and a Rage Juggernaut (same thing, opposite faction) and i use Soresu Form in both. I run around with a shield generator, taunting opponents and guarding my allies (usually a healer). This allows me to basically be an off-tank while still doing massive support damage for the rest of my team/ops group. Obviously your defense won't be the same as someone who is specced as a full tank, but it's an extremely useful role nonetheless. A Jedi Shadow using Infiltration or Balance spec while using Combat Technique would achieve the exact same thing as what I do. Obviously there's more to it than just what i've written here. But that's a basic rundown of the types of things you can do with the melee damage Jedi classes. Hope it helps.
  11. For Vigilance or Rage specs you need Vindicator gear. Weaponmaster armor is completely out of the question as it is medium and Guardians needs heavy armor. For Vigilance, you'll want to make sure you have your Power and Critical stats up very high, and keep your Surge up past 70% if you can as well. But Power and Critical are the most important for Vig as far as i can tell. I have a Rage spec Sith Juggernaut geared in L50 stuff, it shouldn't be too dissimilar to Vigilance spec Guardian in terms of gearing. What i have is BM Vindicator headpiece, chestpiece, boots, lightsaber and pants, WH Vindicator gloves and Earpiece, BM Weaponmaster Implants and 2 Rakata relics. All 4 of my BM armor pieces have Advanced Adept Enhancement 22 in them. This cuts your expertise rating in favour of more power and surge. The problem with BM gear for Guardians is that there isn't much Surge or Power happening, hence the Adept Enhancements and Rakata relics. War Hero gear is much better balanced spec-wise so you probably won't have to change much if anything. The bottom line is DPS classes need to focus on doing damage. If you keep your damage stats up you'll be fine, from there it's a matter of fine tuning your gear for your particular spec. Best thing you can do by far is to go to the vendors on the fleet and check out all the gear available, and decide which particular pieces will give you the best stats. Remember also, to get WH gear you also need to trade in the equivalent BM piece as well as pay the Ranked Warzone Commendations price. So you can't trade BM War Leader chestpiece for a WH Vindicator chestpiece. They have to match exactly, and you lose the BM piece forever. Sorry about the length of the post, i get carried away sometimes. I hope this clears a few things up for you though.
  12. I don't think there is such a thing. I've been looking for a non-hooded, non-cloaked chestpiece, but all i can find is knee or ankle length caped pieces/robes, or commando chestpieces with the ugly backpacks or bum-flaps. Bioware are going to introduce changes to Social gear in 1.3 so that they're all moddable. No word on whether that means it's all still limited to Light Armor or not....i hope it isn't. But at the moment, like Kira says all the good fashion designers went to the dark side
  13. Aaaahahaha the only thing garbage about Jedi Guardians is threads like this.
  14. This has been said before so i'm just wasting my time here (i'm on night shift. wasting time is important). Shields are only good if you intend to use Soresu form. No Soresu = no shield. Shii-Cho: 5% base shield chance. Soresu: 20% base shield chance. See? Not worth the lower stats of a shield for a basically useless 5% chance at absorbing some damage.
  15. Oh the damage isn't a problem. Maybe pre-L50 i won't get scores like that, but at L50 600k isn't out of the question. It's the protection i can't fathom. 300k+ protection...wow! The most protection i've ever done at L50 was about 150k-200k. Before L50 there's no chance of protection like that, obviously. Next time i play my L50 Rage Jugg i'm going to guard the crap out of all healers and see how much protection i can do
