  1. Overall a very fun and enjoyable event. My only complaint has to do with the pre-reqs to complete the full set for containment gear. Unfortunately, I didn't get to play often enough to complete it. Oh, I guess I have two complaints. It was very easy to get bugged and not transition from dizzy to feverish. Two of my 3 chars got stuck at dizzy after the second day. In other words, I couldn't blow up.
  2. This. As an Infiltration Shadow, if I don't have help, I just cc them and move away till help comes...or just keep harrassing them. I can't beat a KC Shadow straight up.
  3. Hmmm, whatever the patch was called where they added those Djinns and all the Epic mobs stopped dropping the actual artifacts. I quit about 2 months after that. And you think there weren't RR12s in the game then?: *snicker* Btw, did you laugh as hard as I did after reading your "balanced life" post?
  4. This. Anyone that lists DAoC as a game that gave zero (or negative) results for PvP (RvR in this case) didn't play it but they want to sound cool. I quit right after Trials of Atlantis hit. RR 12 Sorc Bedevere
  5. Yep, and let *all* the hardcore stand around fleet for hours waiting on enough "hardcore" to have a WZ. Sounds fun.
  6. Probably true, but Infiltration is fun. I just wish I could find a viable strategy to beat my KC brethren besides respeccing and beating them at their own game.
  7. Crit crafted DBLS. My plan is to buy and strip the WH Force Mystic LS and put everything in my orange with augment slot. I'm saving up for it now.
  8. For PvP stealth (Force Cloak) is great for those moments when you see multiple reticles appearing on you.
  9. I'm saving up for the WH FM Saber. Will the damage scale up to DBLS range if we rip everything out and place it in an Augmented DBLS?
  10. They've got me until end of 30 days free time they've promised. That gives them about 45 days to fix this.
  11. I'm on the power bandwagon. I seldom have a healer and so my goal is to hit as hard as I can, as fast as I can, and get out. If there are multiple people hitting me, 41 expertise isn't going to save me.
  12. Daniel, If your polling of WZ results were accurate and reflective of real game PvP, you would not have gone forward with these changes. That is blindingly obvious. The current system is causing a significant divergence between haves and have nots, and it gets worse with every game played. I tried to PvP all weekend and not once, not once, did our side (Republic) start the game with a full group (in games that I was present at start). There were numerous instances of the group getting full well after it was too late to do anything for a win. So what does that mean? It means that the high population Imperial side continues to gain rewards at an alarmingly higher rate than the Republic. The gearing disparity gets bigger and they get stronger. At least in 25% of the games I played, I got in during the final moments. Yes, you say you're going to address that, but you're not addressing the real issue. So what if my one medal allows me to get a token WZ Com, the Imps got the full amount and our side got squat in comparison...back to the real problem. P.S.: If your data *is* accurate, then you need to explain to us why you think this current disparity (as expressed above) is considered by BW to be a good design.

    Grats

Looks great but anything any cheaper than a BM Mainhand weapon?
  14. So since 1.2 PvP only meets 2 of your 3 requirements for tweaking (bad and not fun) can we assume that we're stuck with it? I'm calling it effective in that it puts opposing factions in close enough proximity to kill each other.
  15. I bought a power crystal in anticipation of doing that but the overall drop in other stats is pretty big. I should have enough coms to buy it this weekend so I'll take another look.
  16. Why did you take it away without a replacement? Why didn't every class have their Epic ability taken from them in the same manner?
  17. Is there ANY incentive to switching our mainhand from Champion to BM? I've seen others talking about it but until now I've not really checked into it, but wow, the difference in stats is huge...in the wrong direction.
  18. The people who like the current system of PvP are those with full BM gear that are once again able to ROFLSTOMP lesser geared folks and/or they are on the majority side of an unbalanced faction server.
  19. Bottom line upfront: Bioware isn’t demonstrating the competence or insight that encourages me to invest my time and money into this game. They’ve shown nothing to convince me that this is *the* game that I want to invest in, they’ve not made me believe it will continue to be here. If interested in knowing why, read on. Ranked WZ: First, it seems that ranked WZ’s were not a part of the original design of the game. It seems that Bioware decided to add it as a result of input from a very vocal group that wanted *this* game to be that *other* game. If that model of game design is to be the future of SW:TOR development, then I don’t wish to be a part of it. Bioware should put together a competent group of PvP game designers and design your game and stick to your guns. Then we decide to play your game or not, but either way it’s your game. Btw, a “competent group of PvP game designers” by definition means they don’t decide class balance by one guy walking in with his coffee and doughnut one morning and saying “I think we need to change this class”. Second, regardless of the above comments, once you decided to do it, you promised it to the community, you hyped it right up until a few hours before patch and then you took it away. There are two possibilities in regards to how that happened. Either you all knew well in advance that you weren’t going to add it and used it to string along folks and keep them from canceling or it transpired exactly as you all said. Assuming that decision occurred as you all described it, i.e., mere hours before patch time, then that in itself is a chilling insight into the inner workings of Bioware and the chaos we can expect in the future. Current WZ Play: PvP with consequence is a good idea (in theory), which is I suppose why you’ve made losing in a WZ give little to no rewards. But, here’s the thing, given the current state of the game, with faction imbalance, server populations, and Premades vs. Pugs, it simply doesn’t work. It’s simply a broken concept that can’t work (and there are pages upon pages on the forums of why this is true and I’ll not repeat it all here). I played four games last night and was outnumbered in everyone one of them (8 to 5 was the best we got). You can probably figure out how rewarding that was. The fact that you all apparently think that’s a good idea and that it should go live also speaks volumes about the future viability of this game. One point I will hit on though and it has to do with consequential PvP. It works best in open world PvP, not in instanced Warzones. It works wonderfully where individual player actions have consequence for themselves and their opponent. It works far less well where the consequences of a Pug fresh 50’s actions impact you. Patches: Yes, this is nearing its end. The recent spate of patches, roll backs, emergency patches, etc., also speaks volumes about Bioware’s management of this game, or lack thereof. I’m looking for a game that is worth my investment of time and money. One that will be here for years and Bioware simply isn’t demonstrating that you all have the wherewithal to make SW:TOR that game.
  20. Stephen, et al., There are a lot of folks that would love to test stuff on PTS (especially PvP and Rated WZ's) but most of us aren't in elite guilds that managed to snag a PTS character copy. Until BW makes that more widely available, you'll never have the numbers you need to properly test this stuff. UO had a nearly instant method of Test Server character creation over 15 years ago. Just saying...

    Instant bomb plant?

Reported that on here weeks ago and in game. All they have to do is touch the point to capture it or dis-arm it. There is nothing you can do in game to stop it.

    Farming Voidstar

Yesterday, I was in a PUG of fresh 50s and the Imps had a pre-made. It was ugly and the Imps blew through very fast. All well and good but when they got the last door open, they didn't end it. They just farmed the newbies. If the attacking team doesn't go ahead and end it within a reasonable time, there should be some method for the defenders to close the doors again. In this particular case, the Imps would have just opened them again probably...but who knows...maybe not.
  23. I agree with your assessment of Raph Koster (aka Designer Dragon). No love lost here. And to give him his due, I think he was hugely responsible for UO (a game I loved), but he was also hugely responsible for its demise.
  24. There was griefing, but what I liked most about UO, was that players could and did govern player actions (and those actions had consequences). My friend and I played Antis (sometimes even going red to get those "blue Pks".). Did we always win? Of course not, but the bad guys knew there were much easier areas to hit than those we patrolled...and we made a difference.
  25. After UO (pre-Trammel), Shadowbane was the best PvP game I've played. I wish it had been more popular.
