  1. The one oversight I believe is that there are many reputation vendors that had weapons with various +41 color crystals (Makeb, CZ-198, etc). I often used these vendors for that purpose specifically. I'd like to have access to specific colored crystals without having to resort to the GTN or CM.
  2. I'm going to look for you online tonight. Came back over the summer and haven't found a guild yet but would like to get settled into one so I can begin ops in an actual group as 4.0 goes live.
  3. Hey, thanks for the reply! I saw on your site that you like to start ops at 8pm est. Do you guys ever start around 9? I'm CST so I'm usually dealing with the kiddo's bedtime in the 8pm hour. I'll look for you in game on one of my republic characters once I get moved over. Thanks!
  4. Howdy. I'm thinking about transferring my characters to JC before 4.0 gets underway. I was away from the game for a couple of years but have spent the summer leveling my characters to 60. I'd like to find an active, laid back, "semi-casual" guild to do some ops with. My prefer role is tank. I've done all of the operations on SM but haven't Tanked since I left (back when EC HM was relevant). I'm reluctant to learn the boss mechanics in a pug Just trying to get a feel for what might be good fit on the server. Thanks for your time!
  5. That sounds great, I saw your recruitment thread. Unfortunately 900 est/server might be a bit too early for me since its my kid's bedtime. I wouldn't be able to commit to being online and ready by your scheduled start time, which I feel is the respectable thing to do for your teammates. I appreciate your response though! It's been tough coming back to a game and no longer knowing anyone, so the reply is appreciated!
  6. Howdy - Coming back to the game after being away for about a year. Looking to grab a DPS spot in an operations group. I'm in the process of leveling a Sniper with 12xp Bonus (I also have a Gunslinger at 55 that I can finish leveling if needed), and expect to be level 60 within a few days. I've got all of the usual communication applications, as well as starparse. I'm available any 2-3 nights a week 10PM through 1AM est. I've got a long history of raiding in various games (SWTOR included) and pick up mechanics quickly; however, I'm looking for a group that's a bit more laid back these days. Thanks!
  7. Howdy - Guardian tank returning to the game a few months ago after an almost 2.5 years absence, with an empty friends list, looking for a guild and an ops group (bonus points for guilds consisting of older, tired parents, so I'm not alone)! I've missed the last several tiers of operations but pick up mechanics quickly. I prefer a laid back guild atmosphere that still enjoys challenges (HM and beyond at your own pace). My availability for ops would be Tuesday, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays. 9PM-12AM server time. I've also got a Vanguard and Commando sitting at 55 but prefer to focus on a Guardian if possible You can find me in game on Trenchant if you have any questions. Thanks for your time!
  8. Actually - I've been in more HM OPS (EV, KP) that I'd like to count where the majority of the raid is in battlemaster and the ops are borderline trivial... Try going into a 50 WZ in columi...
  9. Ugh... thanks. That's a bit frustrating. Thought it might be a good idea since I made the mistake of not really PVPing on my main Character until 50, so entering the first time in Rakata (before the recruit gear) wasn't a very fun experience... pretty much gave it up and decided to better prepare on an alt and split my pvp/pve time between 2 different characters.
  10. Is it possible to purchase battlemaster gear before 50? I'm leveling a fresh alt to be a pvp focused character but the idea of hitting the 50 bracket in recruit gear does not sound fun at all. I'd like to be able to slowly buy the kit as I level so I can be somewhat useful at 50 rather than putting in a month of getting knocked around. I believe primary factor in PVP between 2 equal leveled characters should be based on player skill, not character gear.
  11. Is there a way to disable experience gain during pvp? I really love 10-49 PVP since player skill is much more important than their gear. I was late to the game in regards to enjoying PVP (I didn't enter a warzone until a month or so ago on my main character and playing gear catch up is not fun, so I'm not going to do it on that character at least).
  12. I only do dalies once, maybe twice a week (Black Hole) and only for operation repair bills. They are a terrible concept. I probably won't take advantage of adaptive gear or augment slots (for a while at least) because as much as I would love to, I don't have the time or the desire to farm credits through dalies, or invest time in playing the GTN. Both require a significant amount of time; and by significant, I mean more than a few hours a week - which is too much "administration" time for a game in my opinion. Stuff like this won't change, and I'm fine with that, I just focus on having fun while I am playing. Accepting that I won't always be able to take advantage of the perks a large amount in game currency in these games will give you. I'm not going to be in any front line nightmare mode operations or top level ranked warzones, so it wouldn't matter anyways.
  13. It's just a shame that gear > skill in 50's bracket pvp... It's more fun to level alts 10-49 where the playing field is a bit more equal.
  14. I totally get where you're coming from, because I feel the same way. However, I feel that unfortunately you're going to get this type of behavior in the group finder, whether or not there is dual specs. People will see their armor type/main stat and knee-jerk the need button of a brand new piece of gear before they stop and think. Or they will honestly think that they need it (even though they really don't). The plus for us being a tank is the short wait for a group
  15. TLDR to my post: Play smarter, not harder I'll argue that dual spec actually makes you a better player, it's not easy mode. It helps you better understand how your AC performs in various situations/configurations. It also does not make a player "be able to do it all". If I respec from Tank to DPS, my group still needs a tank. There are no "PVP" or "PVE" trees, but there is sure as heck PVP and PVE SPECIFIC skills within those trees that are 100% useless when not doing PVP/PVE. I dont' have time to post examples skill layouts, but needless to say, a PVP tanking build looks NOTHING like a PVE tanking build on the same AC. For example, No Escape talent in the powertech tanking tree... It makes your grapple and stealth scan immobilize the target. Most, if not all PVE bosses are immune to movement impairing abilities, and stealth scan itself is a pvp ability, which you're talenting for extra PVP utility. To compete at the highest levels of PVE, you must pick specific skills as a Tank, Healer or DPS that you WILL NOT PICK if you intend to compete at the highest level of PVP, and vice versa.
  16. On the plus side, it's one less thing you have to be responsible for in PVE
  17. What is the advantage of having a high level legacy if all of the perks still cost quite a bit of credits with a legacy level requirement anyone can attain casually on 1-2 characters? I was always under the impression that various perks would be granted based off a certain legacy level OR purchasable with credits at any/or a specific lower legacy level. I realize credits are relatively easy to obtain in this game, but honestly I prefer to just do enough dalies to cover my weekly operations repair costs; dalies are the least enjoyable part of the game. I really only do them once a week for the Black Hole comm's, they aren't fun after doing them for a week straight. If I do them too often, the urge to play the game in any capacity rapidly declines, and I know I'm not alone in that feeling. None of the perks give a Warzone or Operation PERFORMANCE advantage. There are plenty of other credit sinks for serious PVP/Operation focused players.
  18. I think the point the OP was trying to make (which I agree with) is that of all the alien species in the Star Wars universe; the Cathar are not one that most people think of when they think Star Wars. I'd personally rather see Wookiees, Jawas, Sullustans, Mon Calamarians, Rodians, Trandoshans (to name just a few) before I'd even begin to think of the lesser known species, like Cathar. But I won't complain, I just won't make one.
  19. What play style are you looking to have? If you'd like to tank hard mode Flashpoints and beyond, i'd recommend finishing out the shield tech tree since the final two skill are great (heat screen is a great tanking talent). If you're looking to do dps and like the animation of retractable blade, I would commit fully to the AP tree as combust is real fun too.
  20. As a Powertech, I like to save all of the weapons I've acquired from Quests/Flashpoints/Operations/etc; I'm sure a lot of people feel the same. I think it would be cool if there was a display wall/rack on our ship where we could put older weapons, so we could see the weapon models hanging on the wall from our adventures (with the added benefit of not taking up cargo space on weapon "keepsakes").
  21. An idea would to change the launcher so it displayed important developer news prior to login, the psychology of the glowing play button easily distracts from the small message up top.
  22. What I find frustrating is the multiple places you often have to search in order to know what the vague updates/changes that are planned. It's a pain to sift through 3, 20 page stickies to know whats happening. I feel that they should use the community news blogs at the top of the forums to give us all the info they care to share on a topic, in a single location, and update that as changes occur. Not a general overview, with updates posted in a related 30 page forum thread. Save the forums for the peanut gallery; and to replies to the gallery. I'm usually not one to complain, but i felt it was time to write a "letter" as I'm still not satisfied with the amount of interaction we've seen after the community relation team restructure and their pledge to improve two way communication. As much as I enjoy the game, I must say the community relation has been some of the worst I've seen. Reguarding today; I'm well aware and expected it to be a complicated, multi-day process, but at the very least that could have been communicated verbatim to set proper expectations. Also, perhaps an initial list of proposed destination servers (subject to change) that would at least allow guild leadership to prepare guild banks for moves days in advance, if applicable.
