  1. Again, this particular "work around" may help, but the problem is with the requirement of such "work-around" and exploits for no other purpose except to aide the game in functioning properly, and among other more glaring issues, takes the player "out of the game" and relegates them to mending functionality and faulty programing. This deep into the game this should not be an issue at all, corrected long ago.
  2. Calling another "kid" is rather derogatory and presumptuous, especially when the preaching incorrect information. That method does not greatly help with this particular issue, and could result in a great deal of lost time as the problem is with very skewed numbers that could leave the player repeating the same scenario with little change in results. A more effective solution would be to take as many of the "filler" missions as one can in the desired level. By doing so the chances of the desired mission to pop greatly increase as five of the interuptive, useless missions will be taken out of the pool by virtue of the fact that they are in use. Walk off the ship (quickest method) as many times as it takes for the desired mission to pop. Take that mission and drop the rest. using the above, one increases their chances of acquiring the correct mission and the "reset" is only a matter of seconds.
  3. His complain has been mathematically proven, and done so since launch. Has nothing to do with planning or anything else beyond a very poorly, unbalanced system that, at the very least, requires exploitative measures to relieve the malfunction to the greatest extent possible. Do some research before you make such irrational statements as "working as intended". This was not at all the intent, or advertized function....and again, has been demonstrated conclusively to be well out of verse with other similar game functions. Considering that your counter contention is so flawed, this would be considered trolling, and not at all conducive to communication or resolution of the issue. Insulting the writer will not enhance a weak, unsupported argument.
  4. They've made a great deal of mistakes involving trade skills, most notably the original format. Was hopping that this aspect of the game had gained some attention, but seems not.....or to the contrary.
  5. didn't miss much. Some of the ugliest armor ever forged.
  6. That's not entirely true. Many an individual have either abandoned their class or the game entirely because of nerfs to the class. Been done many times and why the entire FTW class changing has gained its fame....especially in a game where raising a level 55 is rather quick and easy. Not sure what this part means, but resenting a sudden, unexplained or poorly thought out class nerf would be considered normal. Very rarely have I seen nerfs thought out in their entirety.
  7. you've encompassed the entirety of the issue at hand in a single post. Lucid as it is astute, this is the very crux of the issue and a point that seems to be lost by programers and analysis nose deep in spread sheets and charts. They all speak of "balance", then fail to adjudicate properly when implementing such intense alterations to "main stay" abilities that can and often do alter (or eliminate) a defined role for a particular class. They see that this particular car excels well past all others on the straightaways, but never look at how much it loses on the corners, how much longer its pit-stops take, thus rendering the inability to compete in the overall race. That, in fact, is the issue, not the nerf per se.
  8. Honestly, though I've refrained from making such comments over the years and always tried to look for the rationale, even if there was not one, I have to agree here. This implementation, to me, is akin to throwing a dart while blindfolded. Makes no sense at all.
  9. It was not an "I" win ability, not even close and your argument, to this indivdiual that has played a sniper in all aspects of the game, as well as 5 other classes, is limited at best. You are attempting to compare only dps, and only dps in a given situation without encompassing the myriad of other factors in the game such as utility, mobility, variable functionality etc. The sniper, his role, emulated artillery, not infantry. One trick pony who's one trick is no longer entertaining or enjoyable....so yes, the nerf goes well deeper then numbers on a spread sheet. If you played one to their fullest potential, in the highest ends of the game you would better understand that. No matter to me. Stopped playing because of work issues a month or so back. Came back to read up before looking to start in and unfortunately will not be doing so. Enjoy the game and my guild very much, but I've been playing these games since Meridian and Ultima. Seen it, experienced it once too often I guess, and really not interested in going through yet another debacle with yet another class both misconstrued and rendered moot. Game is suppose to be fun, not frustrating. I'll check back in six months or so I guess. Most unfortunate.
  10. Played 6 of them. Raided all content with 6 of them. Tanked, healed, dps. Snipe was my main. In your comparison you are just comparing dps to dps, not including mobility, utility, role definitions and variables. Failing to do so renders a contention centering on comparisons sophomoric. The sniper, when all things were considered, was a balanced class but boring as hell. His firepower (artillery role) was in fact the very thing that kept him at all interesting. I was really the only raid snipe in our guild for the very reason. The problem you are actually identifying in your post is that which we see when "programers", or "numbers guys" make such decisions based on spread sheet analysis without taking into consideration a myriad of other factors....not unlike the kids we see on this board playing a dps role for no other reason except that he puts out .03% more dps, in a perfect rotation, then anyone else. This was a mistake of epic proportions and one that has haunted MMPORG since their inception. No one has "gotten" it yet.
  11. its not the health, its the effective health.....which tends to mean the amount of health left AFTER the hit. If you are just stacking stamina rather then your mitigation and avoidence stats you will tend to be a "paper tank", and alot of work for the healers. Be weary of that.
  12. Dulfy. Great guides from start to finish. Pretty much everything you need to know about game releases and how to function within them.
  13. Well, you do not know anything about game design, or human nature, but if you can blather on endlessly about that, why can't this guy do the same about computers? ;p
  14. Exactly what we are all thinking when we read the OP. Its not that the game does not have issue, and we've had some very good discussions about such.......its that you have no idea what you are talking about, tossing out hyperbole and conjecture like it was rice at a wedding. ....and weren't you leaving?
  15. Yanno the best improvement we noted while being "insane" and staying.....the lack of these types of "know it all" , whiny post telling us how bad we have it, and using such original insults such as "fanboy" as an attempt to discredit any that disagree, or actually enjoy the game. You like the game, stay. You don't have a nice day. I don't think anyone on here needs your personal opinion of who we are, or how the game failed from your armchair perspective.
  16. Sort of like a beacon of light in our little sea of anger.
  17. Yeah, they don't care. In fact, I think they are taking all those reports they are asking for and burning them to roast marshmallows while sitting back twirling their mustaches, thinking of new ways to harass and intimidate us. Hell, all companies. No you won't. They'll fix it and you will go right back to playing.....just like every other complainer....which is why you are so angry now.....you can't play. LOL
  18. This, is an example. This individual is being honest. Someone else received a qualified reward and this individual feels "cheated" that they did not receive it without qualifying. I have no idea how they leap from A to B on this, but that is why there is such reprove....because it makes no sense beyond a personal feeling of entitlement without qualification.
  19. Well, for me its not to much the desire, but the attitude behind such, the nonsense argument, attempts to pain the company as a bunch of evil villains sitting back, twirling their mustaches thinking of ways to "punish their loyal subscribers". Its also the attitude towards others that may disagree. We've seen hundreds of times over the last few years, the arrogance, the insults, the misrepresentations. Certainly if one were to present a logical, rational argument that could be supported they would receive less reprove, but that's not what we usually see here. Its usually in the form of "Bioware ripping us off again". This particulate request has no platform from which to based itself. ....and yes, agree, there are people on the other side of the coin that are just as bad.
  20. Not what the type wants. They want everything that anyone else ever receives without qualifying.....but just because they feel entitled to it. We see it every time a qualifying offer is presented. Classic example of the irrational accusations utilized and totally irrational logic employed to justify their position.
  21. A. you are correct in your assertion. We've all seen it for the last two years. B. He is the one hurling insults, as he just did to me. Usual tactic is to accuse others of being, or doing what they are demonstrating....which is why it makes it so difficult to reason with the type. They do not utilize logic and reason but emotion fueled by the id mentality....which includes the belief that the rules do not apply to them, not based on reason, but desire.
  22. Not a question of an open mind, chief, its that your argument is one of entitlement. The offer is to motivate players to come back and re-sub. You see someone else getting a cookie and feel entitled to such just because you want it even though you do not qualify for the offer. .....and your lack of income does not justify your claim, or demand for a hand-out that you do not qualify for.
  23. Try following the link now to see where it takes you. If not, call CS or put in a ticket, and they will award them. contrary to much of the whining and fabricated arguments regarding CS, they are very good and will take care of any issue they can.
  24. My thoughts? So what. LOL Such a minor, non-issue that its not even worth the time to write this.....but I'm sure we will see a chorus of people that will find some way to have this ruin their day.
  25. That's not what "play to win" is. If you have a choice to acquire said product through game play then it is "choice of route", not "pay to win". Some people have time to farm, but no spare cash. Others have spare cash, but limited time. They may each chose their path now, but the paths still have to cross if one is "paying". You are attempting to paint a positive as a negative by employing misleading dogma rather then rational thought and analysis. Can't formulate a conclusion then attempt to prove it true where no real proof is evident.
