  1. they'll need microtransactions to cushion casey hudson's retirement. god i hope he retires soon.
  2. i think it's hilarious how we will go from 150 or more servers, to basically one or 2 per region and gameplay style. don't worry guys, these are just server transfers. we are not merging the servers. we are not going to use that dreaded word. and no, our population is just fine, despite the fact that we will have over 150 empty servers by the time this is done. it's okay, the game is new, right guys? right? i'm seriously "lol"ing but i can't /laugh IRL.
  3. this reminds me of the line in Cool Hand Luke. anyways, i agree with the OP, but not really. what is funny to me is how people here think it's a given that subscribers to an extremely casual MMO would be forum lurkers, like yourselves. you fail to realize that most normal people haven't even been introduced to the concept of "forums", whereas those that have been graced with such exposure usually don't get past the initial registration process. it takes a special breed of nerd to do what we do. so understanding this, in that you're just a bunch of strange forum lurkers, myself included, i find it strange that :bioware: didn't even release an email to their valued customers. i could be wrong, but the last email i received from :bioware: regarded an infraction, on the 5th of this month. my post regarded how bad this company is, and how a game i played during a beta event over the last weekend is vastly superior in nearly every way. it also commented on how server transfers, when complete, do not really address the problem of a carrot stick MMO, and the same issues that led to people leaving will always exist, due to a fundamental flaw in the game. regards, darth_gao_gao
  4. lol. don't worry, space friend. these aren't actually server transfers, in that the servers listed actually have a say as to their destination. they are mergers with a choice, in that you can accept the transfer or decline. bioware just hasn't gotten around to your server yet. so don't worry. you will either be forced to another server, or others will be forced to your server, while the rest are left behind like in that really bad fiction series.
  5. i wouldn't mind, but that's because i'm a troll who RPs on a normal PVP server. bunch of republic scum, i say!
  6. guys, not to be "one of those dudes", but i got into the gw2 beta last night. this game offers what we thought SWTOR would offer: world pvp. hundreds of people sieging a castle, and the defenders want to actually defend the castle, because the world objectives matter. this is quite the contrast compared to "GUYS GET CENTRAL WE NEED THE CRATES". and to think that the bad ilum nascar doesn't even exist anymore. it's pathetic. the OP is right. game is bad, bioware is bad, their early purchase of the hero engine was real bad too. the fact is, we will never have world pvp on the scale promised. ilum will always be a wasteland, and the only pvp you will experience will be 8v8, in an instance, with huttballs. and to those who bring up the new planet: so derp. the engine is the basic limitation. it doesn't matter if they make a new planet, or a hundred new planets: they will always be questing planets, and nothing more.
  7. actuaaallllyyyy, i rerolled on the fatman recently to see what the fuss is about, and i was near the top of my TRULY HORRIBLE IMPERIAL team as a level 10. you'll recall that the game is objective based, not kill based. OP is one of the guys that brags about his DPS during huttball.
  8. you are a good customer. as the CEO of EA, i applaud you for this courageous post.
  9. too bad the engine can't handle more than 16 people at a time. ilum, man. remember ilum.
  10. yeah man that sounds so much fun. i want to play an MMO where everyday i get to go into an instance and kill an NPC. so pointless. why not just pretend one of the many derps you have to kill during your black hole dailies are for bounties?
  11. hey look it's a pryotech PT. i, too, think being able to run around while applying all my damage is balanced. then again who cares. the pvp in this game has bigger problems than unbalanced classes.
  12. ilum not being utterly terrible other "star wars" stuff. you know, like stuff that regards star wars.
  13. no, no it won't, unless you are REALLY into being a cat. in the end, people will end up on fleet, standing around in queue. this game is a themepark, and the rides don't last that long.
  14. hey i like how 1.3 addresses none of this. it's okay, you'll all keep waiting.
  15. there won't be pazaak because that's too logical of a thing to include in the game. nah, we'd rather add more stuff that requires us to stand around on fleet. screw giving planets like nar shaddaa any life. that would be retarded.
  16. no, because such a system is too hard for :bioware: and bounty hunting can't be instanced.
  17. the space missions were used only for their XP, when i actually cared to level up. they never, ever, were fun. :bioware:
  18. yeah i'm sure all the furries are happy about this. cat people... yeah.
  19. i'm another 6 month derper. as it stands right now, i will keep my account deactivated, in terms of subscription renewal. the game is just bad, and all the proposed changes really don't address any concern. they merely delay the inevitable.
  20. i agree to an extent, but would word it this way: bioware and the rest of the "AAA" companies are simply too cowardly to attempt anything unique or grand. that's why every single new release we are seeing is just garbage that follows the typical w0w model. sure, there is tera, but it's only selling point is **** physics and "tabless combat", along with an unhealthy dose of ephebophilia. in the end, despite what lots of people are saying, i think there is a demand for something fresh(er). that freshness is, of course, a sandbox. sandbox games, from a big companies point of view, cater to a "niche" market. games like Eve have a small but dedicated sub base, and as such, big companies of course refuse to take that path despite the fact that it's the only viable path that just hasn't been utilized properly. the themepark MMO design is just terrible and everyone is starting to realize it. once TERA and "the secret world" (what a joke of a concept) fail miserably, and TOR keeps bleeding subs, perhaps the AAA companies will wake up and get some balls. only then can they take a chance with an actual unique concept for a game. imagine if a small studio like the one that is developing The Repopulation had the funding that bioware had? that game would be amazing. sadly, they have no money, and their game will be just another niche game. bioware, if they had any brains and balls, would sack up, and realize that they can maintain their little themepark while adding sandbox elements. this would please literally everyone, and the risk would be minimal. unfortunately, they are too embedded in their "story driven MMO" concept, and plus, their engine doesn't promote a sandbox because it can't function with over 16 people in an area. the game is flawed on a very fundamental level, and any improvements brought to the game are limited by this cold hard fact. the game is pretty much screwed in terms of its growth. they'll never get to their previous 1.7m subs, and the sad part is they don't care. they made their money, and will release easy garbage from time to time to mitigate the decline until the ride is over. enjoy standing around in fleet, like a bunch of nerfherders. this standing action should be a bit more enjoyable with "super servers", but it'll still be the same garbage that we experience now. tl:dr: companies these days are cowards. there is no more creativity in the business anymore. support indie developers. they are our only hope.
  21. i would play them all if i didn't have to go through the completely terrible planet quests and other junk. a lot of them weren't even that fun the first time around! yes, some were okay, but in the end, i just can't do it. it's too annoying. right now, my character is leveling up only through pvp (thank god for insta-queues on the fatman), space missions, and the occasional class quest smash.
  22. most people are making alts on the fatman because they are just that bored. they don't expect anything.
  23. hi there! i don't know why you need to ask this! our end-game is quite apparent! it involves standing around on fleet, queuing for warzones, waiting for your guild to start a raid, or begging in general chat for a group. i hope this helps! have a nice day!
