  1. keep running them flashpoints and operations, OP. glad you have a population that lets you even do those things. the fact that it took your guild 3 hours to do EV means you are relatively new. trust me, you'll soon get it on farm mode, and you'll soon realize what everyone is talking about. i, too, was like you. then i got fully geared.
  2. i would probably buy a few, provided there was a reason to create more characters. this is something bioware should consider after implementing server mergers, among a litany of other things.
  3. i unsubbed a few months ago, but i was a fanboy that bought the 6 month sub upon release, so here i remain. i unsubbed because: -planets are dead, with no reason to even visit them outside of spacebaring through quests, or killing world bosses for ugly speeders that offer really nothing. give me a reason to return to places like nar shaddaa. you have a casino for a reason right? you are the guys that made KOTOR, right? remember pazaak? so derp. you are on track with your recent world event, but it isn't enough. there needs to be static reasons to return to these iconic planets. the outlaws den is not a good example of this. -world pvp is dead: you death star'd ilum. just admit it. i unsubbed before this happened, and it's amazing that your decisions just get worse and worse. -crafting doesn't matter when your server is dead: i unsubbed before my server's population started dying, now it's just hilariously bad. merge servers, introduce facilitated transfers as soon as humanly possible. oh and crafting is still just bad anyway, and my complaint really regards the market's health. all my alts are still biochem. -buggy operations: when i unsubbed, every wipe to soa was due to some stupid bug. they have gotten better. soa isn't a total buggy abomination anymore, but the operations aren't enough. they always, in time, turn into farming fests. they just aren't very challenging or interesting at all, unless your guild has funny people in them, which mine does. and most importantly: twilek hoods. FIX MY TWILEK. ignore everything else. fix this and i'll resub.
  4. why should we give them a break? they think they are the gods of gaming development. it's our job to remind them that they aren't that great, that they are actually getting pretty bad as of late. better us to use words than our wallets, which is something that is easy to consider given the new titles being promoted as of late. they should be grateful we even care.
  5. this is never going to happen in time. i already have 3 level 50's, each of them as straight as an arrow, fit for the boyscouts. it's just terrible. bioware, hurry the hell up. in the meantime i'll just stop leveling. this implies that i have some faith, even though i feel completely lacking of it.
  6. bioware does not have high consumer trust. they lost that pretty recently, if you have been paying attention. so i don't trust either of them, and blame them both for the state of things.
  7. the focus on pvp is causing people to leave? exactly what focus are you talking about? killing ilum? pvp is the only thing i really do in this game on my own. the operations are on farm mode if you are in a competent guild, and the only reason they are remotely entertaining is because i am in a guild with good dudes who are hilarious. every introduced operation will be reduced to farming after a certain period of time. that's just the nature of the beast. pvp, however, is dynamic, and actually interesting. this is why it attracts people to stay, and why it shouldn't be ignored. to claim that "solo" play should be focused on, with more voice acting to spacebar through, is just hilarious. this is an MMO, right? we need more open worlds, with spacebar quests for the rabble, but more importantly, there needs to be real and living conflict. yes, that is PVP.
  8. by the time it's released, everyone will have 8 level 50's. hope this helps.
  9. the reality is the game cannot handle that many people at once effectively. if you dont believe me, there are plenty of power point presentations about ilum on youtube for you to view.
  10. the good players left for the republic, and the good empire players that stayed didn't stay when they realized that there were no ranked warzones. it will only get worse.
  11. i'm starting to feel the pain. my server, naddist rebels, used to have a pretty decent population. but now the queues are taking longer and longer, and the population is just bleeding out. warzones are pretty much against the same crowd, which is actually good fun because you know everyone (if and when you actually pop a queue), but will it still be interesting months from now? will those same people keep playing? just how worse is my queue going to get? bioware needs to accept reality and put a tourniquet on the game. that tourniquet is server mergers and facilitated transfers. only then should you even think about more fluffy legacy stuff that doesn't matter in the long run.
  12. i tried to read the OPs post, but i just couldn't understand a single thing discussed. i also think i lost a few intelligence points in doing do. i guess i'll have to grind up some more XP to compensate for this loss.
  13. while leaving a warzone may be "selfish", your entire thread is just vain. what even is your motive for making this bad thread? do you actually think it'll alter the behavior of warzone users, or raise some level of awareness among this meaningless microcosm of SWTOR players? here is a reality check: nobody actually cares, especially about you. to think otherwise would be an act of vanity. by creating this thread, you have committed a cardinal sin. i will pray for your soul, but i know i cannot help you. you're doomed.
  14. not sure this is cheating. they just blew their cooldowns and you have a failed conception of elapsed time. but now it's my turn: maybe it's my computer or internet connection, but sometimes i'll be in a fight, and i'll just instantly die. even a few guildmates commented on it, one of which was a healer. it's weird, and it almost feels like i'm lagging out, and all the damage applied in those moments is applied instantly, and all at once, the moment i resynch with the server. or i'm just really really bad.
  15. 4.5m, all via biochem consumables and implants sold on the GTN.
  16. quitting the match is worse than staying in, farming defender points. the reason is simple: when you rage quit a warzone, you open up a slot for some other poor soul to take your place. also, with the new edition of gear, simply leaving a warzone is just stupid, which makes the offense all the more worse. even if you lose, you still get some valor and coms. regarding "giving up" and farming defender points: sure, it's not an ideal thing to do, but sometimes there literally isn't any point in trying. sometimes, your team is just that bad. i only do this after giving a good effort in attack, only to be forced to the conclusion that there just isn't any hope after several consecutive deaths for no gain. i'll even declare it in ops chat, so people like you can get mad at me.
  17. i play on naddist rebels, and have noticed this as well. i even saw some people commenting on this while on fleet, and this is on the imperial side. it really does seem like there is only one of each warzone going on at a time. this is either some kind of bug, or even worse, it indicates that my server is definitely dying. i believe it to be the latter, simply because the numbers in the fleet have slowly but steadily been dwindling. they came back for "ranked warzones", and some stayed for the world event. now the world event is over, there are no ranked warzones, and all those who returned have stopped logging in. bioware, merge servers before there is nothing left to merge. ask yourself why anyone in a light population server would continue playing, or rather, waiting for some sight of salvation. just merge the damn servers and cut the immediate loss. if you don't do this, there will be more leakage in the long run. it's just math and you people better see it.
  18. fact is, they have tried to fix the problem, and they have addressed a couple issues. for instance, there is no longer the loud jet engine sound when you are on fleet. however, aside from this, the rest of the problems remain. to those who claim it is unrealistic to expect proper sound, i really question your sanity. you can no longer say, "well the game was just released, you expect too much!" furthermore, sound is a fundamental pillar of gaming, and also one aspect that bioware spent the most money on. yet we cannot even hear this multi-million dollar voice acting because bioware fails such a lame way. yes, it's just lame. the fact is this: they can't even get sound working correctly. i repeat: SOUND. what other fundamental aspects of creating a game can they also not do?
  19. i don't see the problem with expertise. you can get recruit gear and be competitive, and the battlemaster grind is incredibly easy. i'd say cry more but you guys have been crying too much.
  20. they were fine before 1.2, because good players were good with them. now, for whatever reason, any moron can use a marauder and do alright, and any person who has been in a warzone lately knows this. i know this because i have solo'd a few marauders with my terrible mercenary, which is pretty pathetic. but against anyone with any ounce of intelligence, it's quite painful. again, if all it takes is an "ounce" of intelligence to be a brutal, top scoring player, then it's simply FOTM. against a truly competent player, i might as well just "/sitdown" because i'm not going to win unless i have a team with me. there is nothing wrong with a very good player prawning me as a merc, but to have literal dullards who maybe interrupt 50% of the time correctly just dominating, then something is wrong. bring marauders back in the direction of pre 1.2, but keep the bug fixes. good marauders will still be very good, and the bads will be as they should be: bad.
  21. it's pretty tough being a merc right now. we pretty much get out dps'd by sorc's, yet they have literally double our utility. our only defense against marauders and sents is jetblast, 1 instant stun, and 1 cast stun. maybe rocket punch. the only chance we have against these players is if we have power surge available, which enables us to get 1 tracer missile off without being interrupted. then we can run around in a circle like a derp, expending our rail shot and nerfed heatseeker, desperately shooting an explosive dart, then pushing 1 for primary attack. it's pretty pathetic. sadly, i've killed many marauders 1v1 in this fashion, which goes to show how bad the players using marauders are despite how OP their class is. yet against anyone with an ounce of intelligence, this tactic fails every time unless it's a map where the jetblast is very effective, like in huttball, or you have a team that knows how to focus targets, and maintain a good overall position, be it in attack or defense (lol). the only reason i stick with my merc is the simple fact that i do not want to be a space mage. arsenal spec is a joke, and so is pyro when you consider that a powertech by far excels a merc pyro's dps. furthermore, pryos are just bad in practice: sure they get good numbers of dps, but none of that actually kills anyone. it's just AOE nd DOT fire damage. at least with arsenal, even in its current bad state, you actually kill people, sort of, sometimes. all that needs to happen is for our tracer debuff to actually apply to our heatseeker. as of now, i'm convinced it is bugged.
  22. a cool thread. i already have a 50, but will take some of this advice to heart while i grind up my alt. one thing i'm concerned about is supposedly, the XP rewards for PVP have been reduced. i haven't pvp'd in the sub50 bracket in a long long time, and am wondering if anyone can comment on this.
