  1. Not all epic items can be modified. When you mouseover an item it shows a stat summary and on some items it shows armoring, mod and enhancements (or hilt etc) or two of these or whatever. These items are modable - all set pieces are modable, most normal epic items can be modded, too except armoring and some just can't. It differs from item to item.
  2. This is actually working as intended. I wrote a bug report for this exact reason and they said this wasn't a bug but srsly working as intended. You can't shoot missiles on targets available for Proton Torpedos. they told me to post some suggestion, I told them to die in a fire and never bothered with this **** again.
  3. I'd say Sniper is for you - The Assassin is not really a burst class, especially because Madness is the superior spec (at least for PVE, Idc about PVP) since they nerfed the Hybrid spec. Also, that might just be me though, I find Sniper (marksman) way more fun to play than a Sin, the rotation is smoother, you are not SO energystarved after a short while and can do more stuff overall. The Burst dmg a Sniper cann pull off in PVE at least is probably the best thing, Ambush, Followthrough, Instant Snipe is quite nice not to mention all the other fun abilities you have. Firing off two Series of Shots with Alacrity buff on in a row also hits pretty hard, just fun overall. Sin... Idk, 2 CS, Shock, Discharge... Maul when it procs, wait for energy... yawn :/ Also LS companions if you care: Agent has only Vector who could be considered Light Side and Kaliyo who is dark side, everyone else is not so much LS or DS but more about the most intelligent thing to do (Lokin), the highest personal gain (Scorpio) and the loyalty to the empire (Ensign). Inqui gets Ashara and Talos who are mostly LS although Talos is still a loyalist and Ashara is a bit more of a gray Jedi really. Khem is completely dark, Andronikos is a BH and likes credits and Xalek is also completely dark but mostly doesn't care about anything but killing and not talking (i have max affection with him and I swear he didn't use more than 30 words or so during the entire progression). The Agent companions are the most interesting ones in the game though (personal opinion).

Both Anni and Carnage are fine for PVE, an example for an Anni spec would be the following (it's the one I'm playing now). http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#100bIbRrRMfsZhMMZR.1 you could also play with slighty more DPS (really just slighty) but you'd lose 30% dmg reduction vs ae dmg (which should be worth it in Ops on HM/NM), simply don't spec defensive forms or defensive roll and put the points into 4% extra force critical + 15% crit on VS. For Carnage I'd say this should be the one; http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#100bcZGGMRRrbdhzZG.1 Carnage has better burst imo due to Gore + Ravage + Scream after Massacre, Anni needs time to really get going with 3 annihilate stacks + bleeds but it provides self+grphealing (small amounts but you do notice it). Edit: For leveling with a DPS companion I'd say Annihilation is better due to a little bit healing, Carnage might be more hectic here, but it's only a little thing - play what suits you better - dots or burst like crazy.
  5. No, as LS SW you are trying to influence/change the empire from within to become a more peaceful, no more racist or enslaving and warloving system. As a Sith in general you look out for yourself, you might care about the emperor out of fear if anything, but you don't give half a damn about the empire and it's citizens. As A LS SW you care about the people equally and due to differences with other Sith you end up working against them most of the time. Malgus and his new empire is probably a somewhat good example, it's that minus the bloodthirst and conquering wishes.
  6. Marauder will outdmg anyone on the boss dummies because they are bugged and you can't miss. Marauders benefit the most here because all their skills have the additional dmg from the offhand which you wouldn't get that often due to the high chance to miss that it has. Normally you couldn't push accuracy nowehre near that level, not even when sacrificing tons of way better dmg stats. Also, posting random numbers without insight in what you've exactly done rotation wise or what your actual gear and spec look like is just plain stupid, sry, but if you have all that data from all your funny little tests why didn't you come up with the grand idea of posting the data? You probably don't even know the bug or know about it but simply went on to ignore it in order to prove your point with false data. Only thing that's laughable in this threat is you. Edit: Read the rest of your hilarious post and your oppinion on where DPS classes should stand and socalled "hybrids" There is no such thing. An Arsenal merc for example will not heal anyone effectively besides Soa when you jump down platforms, in any other situation this is almost guaranteed to get you absolutely nothing but overheating and doing less DPS to it without providing anything useful at all. Melee will always do more dmg or at least should do more dmg then ranged on stationary targets due to increased movement in bossfights. bioware decided to put almost all the stress on melee in encounters (for DPS, not counting healers). You type in "support" like you are talking about WoW-shamans, no class in this game has real groundbreaking support beyond classbuffs (that in a raid with an altoholic can all be provided by a single person) except Bloodthirst by marauders and armor debuffs by Ars. mercs + Snipers. What support are you talking about? Some weak shields by Madnesssorcs? Knockbacks, Pulls, Stuns etc, all of that is not needed 99% of the time in current and probably future raid content.

You can either be against it or troll, in class forums the use of sound logic and actual data is prohibited and will be punished by reaction to your post with horrible grammar in a language you think you don't know until you realize it's meant to be english. Further, specifically for BH and Trooper DPS AC, the nerf to tracer missile and power shot is not balanced out by the buff to Heatseeker missile (yeah i know it hits crazy high now bt it doesn't matter because tracer Missile got nerfed) and even more so the increased chance to proc the single best dps ability before 1.2 - Unload (and the rep counterpart) (once again it doesn't matter that unload > tracer and mre unload = more dps, because tracer missile got nerfed). To summarize: lulz trac0r missile nurf me class broken QQ lol bio gg /gamequit /unsub idc i got buffz no buffz cause tracer missile nurf QQ.

First I thought - yeah, that's what mmos do because in the end nobody cares about the look of the cave you spend 5 minutes in but it's pretty easy to overlook some good design by the team, especially for class story and planet storylines where most things actually don't look the same so much. In the end you have one maybe two textures for a cave/building and especially in a sci-fi setting as SW there is not so much different style available like in WoW where every race had some kind of trademark architecture. It's just the sam textures, the mapping changes often enough though, surely doesn't hurt immersion in any major way, unless you pay attention to it, especially the very small "houses" with a room to your right and stairs with another room to your left.
  9. is it possible that Lost island was nerfed really hard? Ran it last week, was challenging with a rnd healer but managable, now it's as faceroll as kaon oO don't have to pay attention to anything anymore or is it just our ops healer being incredibly awesome? ^^

With augments; 514,6 power, 100,75% acc, 38,58% crit, 75,1% Surge without you're losing 2,5% crit and 2% surge and that's just crit/surge augments where you could also go with Str or power or mix it up even more, that was just a quick experiment on the askmrrobot character builder... and besides that you lose 1200 HP, you're right, no big deal Why they didn't just give you a damn item to put an augmentslot on anyything you want is beyond me, why make things simple when you can force people to grind their asses off.

But if you could just add an augment slot to the items you actually like the look of that would defeat the whole purpose of RE an gear piece 100 times until you get the schematic to craft it 1000 times until you crit for 12 endurance + 18 of some stat. Also how would it be fun if you just got a brand new campaign item from your very hirst HC denova kill and could use it right away being best in slot instead of having to destroy it or just empty it completely and put it in the ugly as **** looking crap orange **** you bought for 400k on the GTN? Srsly dude, that would've just been bad design /trollface.jpg But srsly... current system has you grinding materials and crafting **** forever and forcing you to wear gear you hate the look of, they just gangraped customization options and on top of it make you grind **** forever and ever over and over again to be able to compete, should've never added augment slots, just give the crewskills more custom/artifact schematics for more customization instead of this ****ed up ****. It'S like... why the **** would you buy implant/earpiece of the black hole commendation **** when you'll replace it with the same *********** thing just critcrafted? It doesn't make any *********** sense, so annoyed by this ********. I knew, I just knew Bioware would **** this whole thing up just like they ****ed up everything they've ever done in the end, no matter how good it was in the beginning (ME 3 *cough*).
  12. orange doesn't really matter afaik, if it's artifact quality you can now also change the armoring so it's basically the same as custom quality as you can craft it and crit for the augment slot. Besides - even if you can't RE tionese gear you actually can craft something looking like it with the schematics for the "energized" pieces obtained in HC Flashpoints. Same goes for Columnigrade gear (Exotech) - at least askmrrobot has them listed with an Augment slot under Armormech and the side should be correct. Doesn't fix my *********** problem with lacking cool jackets in this game with augment slots but ***.. (+ the Exotech stuff is just plain stupid to get and takes forever so FU dear BW for *********** everything up again).

And yeah I thought about browsing through askmrrobot, torhead or darthhater, but most items there don't show where they are from and same goes for schematic. Srsly *** were they thinking? "We want people to be able to choose their look... so we force you to use crit crafted orange gear and you have two choices per slot for it - well, one if you don't pvp"... *********** incompetent idiots at BW *********** this game up one patch after another

Just wanted to know the following because if you don't want to lose tons of stats you are now forced to wear crit crafted orange gear in every slot possible and I'd actually like to keep my look but don't have anyone available to try it out and can't do it myself (being biochem and all). - can you RE Tionese gear in order to get the custom version of it? - can you RE the (custom) RD-07A Elite Watchman Jacket to get the schematic for it? It's the one from the Corellia Commendation vendor (black jacket thingy). Is there any site with a list of what the hell you can RE now at all so I can look it up myself? God I hate this patch so ****in much for the stupid crafting changes alone -.-
  15. What I wonder is around what gear story, hard and NM mode are balanced. Seeing how much augments improve stats overall I don't know if this will become mandatory or not - it sure as hell does make things a lot easier. Terrible design btw, should've just given crafting professions the ability to put augment slots in existing gear instead of the whole RE and maybe get lucky BS they have right now. What I really hate about Denova is the 8 man raid setup, we only have 1 tank (1 sin, no other AC we have can taunt at least) and I had to tank 1st and 2nd boss as a Marauder in dmg gear which is not as awesome as it sounds. Doubt it'll work on HC but whatever, just going to find a completely new player with gear and skill and swap him in on these bosses /thumbs up.
  16. yeah, used to wow mechanics on boss parry etc. So there is no real way to test accuracy right now due to bugged operation dummies except in live raid (would cost a fortune to change mods only for that and gimp me in raid doing so possibly)? Sucks.
  17. can't really be offhand - not enough misses for 50 or 60% hit chance that it has. Parry shouldn't be a factor for Marauder anyway if bosses can't parry attacks from behind, same with dodge actually, but Idk what the programmers did, never paid attention, never seen a dodge or parry pop up though.

So, now that we have combatlogs I thought I'd test around a bit on the operation dummy on my ship (should be the same as hitting a boss in any ops right?) to see how much accuracy I need in order to hit properly or to put it in other words: How much acc can i dump for power, crit, curge. So, I stripped a bit and testet with 95,3% acc shown in char window - no misses. Stripped down to exactly 91% accuracy - no misses. Both times I had about 500 hits overall, not enough for a real test with exact hitcap and all, but as I wasn't missing at all I thought I'd post here first and see if anyone has also tested this, came out with a different result or is accuracy really useless and it would be better to just stack dmg increasing stats instead of taking any accuracy. Things is: Sometimes I'd see a very small "miss" by the dummy - it's either from assault (basic attackk - three hits - nobody cares if one of them misses, you get rage anyway) or the offhand, although I am not sure offhand misses are shown at all and it's dmg is just added to the number of the MH hit (so you'd have lower or higher numbers at random for any ability due to offhand missing or hitting). Anyone here doen some tests like this with some info? Would be appreciated. edit: checked mmo-mechanics SW theorycraft talking about 10% accuracy should be on the gear, but no reason was given, so not really helpful.
  19. I'd say too much infighting, we just lose on all fronts because we fight the reps and ourselfs. It's stated quite well in the Imp. Agent story where they say we are actually outnumbered 2:1 or something like that because the Darths from the other classquests took away a huge part of the troops for their personal stuff on Corellia for example. Over and over again either yourself as a player of an imperial class or a char in the story kills someone actually strong. I think overall 5 or so Dark Council members have to die and are replaced then (only 2 of them though). besides that - the Empire is actually ruled by the emperor - but he is absent, thus the power struggle. Malgus uprising cost many troops, The new operation shows how some of the strongest Sith have turned against the empire... it's just constant demolishing from within, eventually the Reps will either easily overpower the Empire with sheer numbers or it'll be something like Malgus again and defection to the republic, we do know there are quite a few light side Sith running around (not players, game characters) so.. yeah, I'd say infighting kills the Empire.
  20. We are almost the same as we were before 1.2, Ravage got buffed, some situational / control skills had the rage cost reduced from 1 to 0 (yeah! I really never had that - one - rage for them!), Carnage and Rage spec now profit from the Short fuse talent (more fury per ragespender) and that's it. We weren't really buffed, everyone else just got nerfed. Nobody cried about Marauders before 1.2 except Marauders who were told we are fine and they need to l2p. How are we the most overbuffed class if we hardly got any buffs at all? Our ae was actually nerfed really hard as the ae skills now cost three times as much while doing the exact same amount of dmg. Srsly it's all Sorcs and Mercs whining here isn't it? never had to learn to play properly due to being overpowered and now can't get **** done.
  21. First of all; Crit, Surge and Power affect your damage. Accuracy helps you hit targets (though I do not know the cap here, don't miss with 98% though). Absorb and Defense are useless for you. Now it gets a little bit more complicated; Power raises the dmg of all your attacks. Crit increases the chance for you to crit whereas Surge gives critical hit dmg an increased modifier (base is 50% so with a little bit of Surge you'd do 60% more dmg when you crit for example). However, both Surge and Crit are heavily affected by DR, meaining they lose value the more you get. While you'd easily get 10% + Surge with only a few points you will need an insane amount of Surge to get from 75% to 80% for example. Same goes for Crit just with lower values. Ultimately if you don't want to think about it too much... stack crit to 30% chance unbuffed, stack Surge afterwards to 70%, get Acc. up a bit (you will anyhow due to itemization and DR) and then just go all out in power.
  22. They should give you Social Points for playing in a grp and not just conversations. How often has someone helped someone, done a H2 or H4 together, cleared a FP or raid, all social acitivities and got absolutely no SP at all? It just doesn't make sense and to have your personal story altered by another player in a stroy driven mmo is not ideal (reason I never grpd for instanced quests with conversations because.. no dear Darthkillajedimasterlolwutskyvader" I do NOT wish to slaughter the orphans and eat their bunnies. I'm not even social level 2 and I can't even count the times I've helped random people with world/class story quests (I've probably killed the final boss on Voss like 50 times by now and I only have 4 lv 50 chars). It's a broken system.
  23. There is currently absolutely no way to reset or change an existing Legacy on a server. Your one and only option would be to get a completely new account and start on the same server you were before so you'd unlock a new Legacy once you finish class act 1. What problems does he have though with his Legacy? Only thing that comes to mind is the name - if it is in any way offensive or goes against the naming policy you could always try contacting customer support, if it's just another of those "my char is named bumblebee so it's the bumblebee legacy.... wait wut? I'm bumblebee bumblebee now? O_O"... then.. well, have fun with the new account
  24. And that's the sad part. All the stuff doesn't have any kind of balance between cost and usefulness. You get the best ones for free like Light V Unity buff with dmg red. for you + comp for soloing, all class buffs, fun emotes, comp. dance is a funny gimmick and costs next to nothing etc but who the hell would spend 2 million creds on rocket boots or whatever? That's just insane. The stat bonuses gained by completing companion questlines also comes free etc... it's just to expensive.. I mean, I do have the creds (everyone who had Slicing and played a lot pre Slicing nerf has it ) but I see absolutely no reason to spend them.
