  1. Simple - I think every planet has a soundtrack, but they just top playing after the tracks finished. I'd really like to hear some music to add to the atmosphere of the planets. Just hearing your speeder as you drive to your next quest objective is soo.. boring. Of course you could just play music (and I mostly do because ther eis none in game) but I have to pause it every time for conversations (if I want to listen to them). Music really helps with immersion, I remember hearing a very beautfiul melody on Hoth in the beginning and then it just disaappeared, it would be SO awesome if the track could just be looped, for those that don't like - you could just toggle it on and off, I don't think it's that hard to implement, too. The music is already there, just needs a repeat button.
  2. they are planning this, hope they don't show it on the normal screen though, would like a look at the weapon in a 3d window.
  3. You really put some thought nto this and all, but srsly dude - there is absolutely no need for this.
  4. But the prerequisite is leveling another toon you actually don't care about to 50 in order to level the one you do care about to 50. That's just "bad" design, at least it's not ideal. Could've given us a paid racechange feature (or really any of those features wow has - but cheaper ). That is a problem, the prerequisite is just not in line with the thing you get. You need to level in order to be able to level - that's it simplified. I personally don't really give a damn about this whole thing, only races I play are 4 humans and 2 Twi'leks - although I would like to play my Operative before my Sorc (both going to be Twi'lek) I don't really mind leveling my Sorc up first - but I have plenty of time currently for another two months or so before it's back to business, most players don't have that luxury and don't have the time to farm the creds (and all Legacy stuff just costs way too much when I think about how they've shown how much creds the average player has (< 1 million or about 1 million and extracting mods alone after 1.2 with custom items cost a ton of creds)). I simply see no harm in making cosmetic choices like what race your toon should be hard to get because it's purely cosmetic. I'd also like a feature for new players where they could choose race/class combos more freely instead of leveling to unlock legacy and then realize they could've played that miraluka thing on Imperial side, too - although I know that one is really hard to implement, maybe a post creation option or something. I do consider myself a "hardcoregamer" and I never mind farming rep or other stuff or doing things for a long time before getting anything for it - but I do understand the wish some casual players have on accessing things like races or vanity stuff a little easier. It's not endgame gear or high PVP ranks we're talking about here, it's about lekkus vs hair, blue skin vs red skin.
  5. It's not really working for something in this case, sorry, I don't know how you could see it that way. some guy wants to play a Idk Twi'lek Agent and so he has to either roll a rep. toon or lv an inqui to 50 first. To have a different race for the class you want to play is not something you should need to level another toon to 50 first. They could at least lower the cost down to 500k or something. I personally don't have real problems with the system it is now, but I can understand parents or hard working people who still like to play the game when they'd like some cosmetic things like your toons race to be obtained an easier / faster way. People need to get off their high horses with all that "work for your ***** stuff, some people don't have the time or have other hobbies besides playing swtor and for something like player race it should be easier obtainable.
  6. only thing that needs to be removed in order to make melee more fun is the knockback ability EVERY *********** MOB has. It's ridicilous, it doesn't do any dmg or anything, it just annoys the living **** out of tanks and melees.
  7. DBM was just something to give players any idea what was happening, the raids in wow simply "forced" you to use DBM, Blizz even stated that they designed encounters thinking players would have those addons. Later they added their own messages, which Rift also had at launch and swtor also has, so DBM isn't even needed. further; You can simply not allow them as a developer if you think they are ruining the game - ui addons, scrolling combat text, extra bars or things like that just help you personalize your gaming experience without giving yyou an advantage over someone else who is content with the current UI. I'd like to have a better health etxt for example, shorter healthbar at the same time, numbers instead of bars for rage - things like that. Like I said, jerks can flame you and do dumb **** for multiple reasons, once again addons can be limited in the functionality and gear score (i did hate it, never had it, laughed at people using it sitting on my LK hardmode mount + death's demise title displayed for being idiotic) is almost in the game already. If you open a pug you can have people coming up to you and gear check them, all gear score was is make random idiots without any "success" in the game dictate others how high that number should be. LFR was Blizz countermeasure, the idea itself was pretty good, just like dungeon finder is, but it was just way too easy, dumbing the game down. For your example where people aren't helping, I stopped doing that after a while after I've been ignored or flamed and whatnot for simply trying to help, like telling a rogue his dps would increase with different poisons or if he paid better attention to his slice and dice buff. Still - if my guild recruited a new player I would like the ability to see how much dmg he actually does and if he's any help to us at all for the content we want to raid. I mean, we'd take him on a trial run and if he stood in fire and stuff like that we wouldn't invite him again, simply because his skill (no matter what a nice person he might be) is not enough for the things we're trying to do. If his movement is fine, but his dps is not we might be able to improve that (we currently do have a tank who needs a lot of help and we give it to him and give him time and he imrpvoes etc) but if they don't, they gotta go - not kicked from the guild, we'd still happily socialize with nice people, but we can't raid with them. A RL example - your highschool basketball club surely didn't take any fat little white kid who wanted to play the game, right? As far as leveling goes: I love it, too, but I'd love it more if I could skip the boring stuff In WoW i had certain placed where I liked leveling and other zones I hated - with heirlooms I could go through the content I liked - you don't know how much I'd love to skip tatooine while leveling except for the class quests, I hate it - hate it.
  8. Instead of trashing all addons, do it like rift did it and allow only certain types of addons. All those UI tweaks people want could be done by addons instead of taking up development time which is needed elsewhere. A better scrolling combat text for melee would be nice for example, I don't see any numbers when dpsing a giant boss/damaging his toes. I'd also like a better visual effect for my dots with timers and see only mine, something powerauras did in wow (and a similiar addon in Rift). We do need a combat text (we have one) to see what actually happened when you died to analyze fights better. In rift/WoW you could always take a look at the combat text and see where you took dmg from, helped improve your game, also you could see where you could optimize your dmg, see dot uptimes etc, analyze fights and such things, I srsly don't see the harm in it. Constant whining about how addons would ruin the game when all you're trying to do is take away options for jerks to be jerks. we already have itlv btw, if people wanted they could do gearchecks like they did back in WoW before the addons where you had to come to a certain place and be inspected. It's the community, not the addon, the addon just had millions of idiots following the other idiots. Of course a player is more than his dmg etc, but when you try to raid engame content it's pretty awesome to be able to take a look at new players and what they contribute to see if they are a fit for your team beyond their personality. Also I don't see how heirlooms ruined leveling, they just got you good gear for your alt and made you level faster, I have 4 50s, I would LOVE to get more experience on the next alt one way or another, srsly, I only play it for the class story anyway, I know everything else in and out. For the difficulty - of course it should be challenging, I wouldn't mind seeing a very easy mode though for flashpoints/operations for extreme casual players - with worse loot of course, but less trash etc so they can easily run through it to see the story - story mode was intended for that, I doubt it does what it was supposed to do. Dungeon Finders are simply a must have - it's no fun in any way to spam /1 in order to assemble a grp, you can't do anything while standing on the fleet. With a DF you could do dailies or somthing else while waiting for enough people to show up. Would also like to see something like that for planetary H4 quests. Dual spec is great, iright now, if you want to min-max you need to swap out players or send them to respec, both things aren't fun for anyone.
  9. Agree, Makos story was more interesting than the BH story but it has no closure (or did I just choose ALL the wrong dialogue options?). Still don't know anything about... "the others", what the project was, what SIS had to do with it, what Mako really is now etc. Also, during her comp. quest I ... think I made her and Torian a couple, yet Torian never mentions this which felt really really weird with the thousands of flirt prompts I've gotten. For the part you mentioned: It is just the same as Braden - knew him 5 minutes, mofo got killed and now I care why exactly? I mean, yeah I'd shoot the guy who did it out of honor but didn't really get t me emotionally like it was for Mako. As IA you take A LOT of **** from soo many people that you really start to hate them, as a BH it's just like... "oh you killed the guy I've just met, I'll hunt you to the end of the galaxy to avenge ehm... bob? was his name bob? I think his name was bob.. or rob? Robby? ah screw it. CREDITS BABY!" It just felt like there were SO many missed oppertunities for the story - act 1 / guy who shot braden should've been killed earlier, great hunt should've been 2 planets only afterwards. The whole Mandalorian thing should've been more epic, more visits, more conversations, more being mandalorian. I remember reporting back to Imp. Intelligence SO often that I just started to care about them, I talked to Mandalore once... once, what the hell could I possibl feel (well, feeling in games at least) because of that? I was like ...yeah, so Imma Mandalorian nau... and yeah, great, moar bounties, woot \o/. Final act made it somewhat personal with all the dirt they threw at you, but the sidetracking over two plantets to once again kill someone you don't give a **** about was just dumb :/ I don't know, maybe it's because I played BH last after all other three Imp. stories but I felt it was lame. The JK story with all it's cliches and star wars fanfiction level script was probably worse, for the others I don't know (watched the story only on yt though and maybe it was just so boring because of the most pu-you-asleep-voiceactor ever but the story really sucked).
  10. let's see... I'd like constant worldevents like Rift had them. Every other month or so you had the chance to get new fun items or even gear upgrades, pets etc from world events. WoW had a similiar thing but not constantly changing themes like Rift. It was amazing and gave you something to do with your lv 50 char. Further, tied to those world events are the Rift events the game had where there were public groups and a zonequest (in swtor it would be a worldquest). I'd also love a reputation system with some factions rewarding titles, gear (can also be only purely cosmetic, works fine with the mod system the game has), pets and stuff like that and on top of that an achievement system that's a little bit better than the codex thing, you don't know what you're missing, you have no real goal to achieve. Tied into the acm system I'd like something similiar to the artifact collection you had in Rift, just roaming the world looking for stuff while chatting/listening to music or whatever. For world design I'd also like a change, like removing those annoying spaceports, make traveling to other plants less boring/time consuming, nobody likes to get on a ship and get a loading screen, then get on a planet and get a loading screen to then take a taxi somewhere. It takes forever to just arrive on the belsavis/Ilum/black hole questhubs - especially black hole. A LFG tool would also be appreciated, it's not fun standing around on the fleet without the option to do anything but drive around in order to find a grp for a FP, only FPs I ran were with a full guildgrp, never bothered with trying to find a grp otherwise and on my server there are over 200 people online in the evening. Tied to this I'd like a companion need roll function so running Fps with your full rakata toon is not just a huge waste of time, at least yu'd have gear progress for your companions. For raids - well, I'd like to see NM mode removed and more raids added. It is not fun killing one and the same boss who gains one shiny new ability or so on three different difficulty settings. It simply is not fun, it's repetetive and boring, only real fun thing is the people talking dumb **** the entire time in TS3 after you've killed the awesome 4 -.- bosses in the new Operation. Other stuff like Ship customization or a nice place in Kaas City that you can decorate would also be cool, something to call home, always missed that in other mmos. And, because it is a story driven game, I'd like to see more.. story, especially with companions. For future content I'd like them to say more during conversations and not only react to 3 choices and pop up with + x or - x on the bottom of the screen. They seem too much like hunterpets from woW most of the time, they should be more interative. On a sidenote - an option to reset and thus redo your entire class story would also be nice and besides that -> post creation character customization - a barber, the ability to gain or lose weight, change eyecolor etc, it's the future goddammit! For spacecombat better designed missions with better control instead of this railroad system and all in all more activities like this that actually have nothing to do with the actual gameplay, like... cardgames, a casino where you can gamble and such things - I remember how I probably spend more time in games like FF7 or FF8 with the minigames than the actual game (gosh I loved that cardgame from FF8 ).
  11. It's not about trouble, it's about the easymode healing companions offer compared to DPS or (even worse for anything but healspec) tank companions with the almost immortality you have no matter what you do and the nonexisting downtimes they offer. Biggest downtime for tanking and dps is healing after combat though (for squishy dps classes this is especially true) and it would not be that hard to give tank/dps comps some abilities here to regen faster when combat's finished.
  12. Strictktly based on personality and companion story having them all maxed out; 1. Vette (Ccoolest blue chick in the galaxy, no respect for anything, funny, cute in a weird way oO, actually pretty clever, sometimes acts childish, lovely character though with scars from her past which makes her pretty deep) 2. Doctor Lokin (incredibly smart, loyal only to himself, lies all the time out of curiousity alone, interplay with him is always great, every conversation was simply awesome) 3. Talos Drellik (funny, smart, loyal, adventurous, awesome accent, awesome companion) 4. Blizz (utini! nuff said) 5. Jaesa (a lot of potential, nice fit for LS warrior, could use a bit more depth though) 6. Mako (fun girl, sharp, her story misses closure though, bad design by BW) 7. Gault (very funny, comes around in the end, can be a real *** at times, but very very smart) 8. Scorpio (simply fascinating companion) 9. Khem Val (too dark and brutish quite often, besides that, awesome companion) 10. Ashara (deep character, conflicted a lot, fun apprentice) 11. Kaliyo (crazy ***** - came around more often than not though and always just soo cool) 12. Vector (hated him first, now I really like him, deep character) 13. Torian (somewhat stiff , still quite alright, daddyissues are annoying though) 14. Ensign temple (fun as trainee - bit to extreme imperial loyalist though + she killed her old man out of duty, ***) 15. Lt. Pierce (generic soldier, somewhat boring, tries to hard to act like rambo or something like that) 16. Broonmark (simple brute - but with a sense of honor and loyalty) 17. Andronikos (too weird and somewhat dumb) 18. Skadge (Rough... fun to keep around for opening jars or something like that but as smart as a toaster) 19. Xalek (seriously ***? The guy seems to know no more then 30 words) 20. Quinn (who is now thinking: "Oh thank you my lord for even putting me on the list, may I stick my head up your *** now for real instead of only in my dreams?" The betrayal was just the final failure, this guy simply has no backbone and if he had one I wish Skadge would break it)
  13. Whole FP got nerfed like 1 week after release, dmg is tuned down on all bosses, it was hard, now - not really. For the robot.. it's just placing the spires smart, takes very little coordination to do so, interrupting the incinerate cast is not that hard either... I don't understand the problem really, hardest thing about the encounter was figuring out his rotation, once you know when he does what it's pretty easy.
  14. Either this or try to minimize downtimes when playing with a dps / tank companion. Got bored one night and tested what the actual DPS is the types provide with DPS in Columi (ranged and melee) both being at ~ 500, tanks do almost 300 if dps stance is active and healers pull up to 150 or so with dps (not that you would actually use them for dmg ). So, just comparing tank to dps the problem is pretty much that tank comps take too much dmg, even when well geared and with a ton of presence (my Broonmark is almost full Rakata for example but his health goes down SO fast cause I can't effectively heal him) that it's just not worth it. You end up dismissing and resummoning them (or mount/dismount etc) to get them back to 100% health, it's just plain annoying. DPS is similiar but with less downtimes overall and faster killspeed. Still with both (if you can't heal) you get into trouble when pulling something you didn't really want to pull or when fighting two strong type mobs without available CC or something like that. Having your healing comp out just allows for so many errors on your part without consequences and you never ever have to stand still and feel like you're doing nothing. You do kill stuff slower (in a fight with a grp of 3 you have to kill all three and not just two of the mobs) but you never have to regen. Healing is just too strong compared to dmg or tanking. That's the reason I'd give any class some passive ability to heal their tank companions by dealing dmg for example, for DPS companions it should be healing you and them when they DPS by a small percentage. You'd still end up regen. sometimes and all but they'd be more effective and you could actually play with the comp(s) you like instead of the easiest one (now, I did play with vette/jaesa all the way on my mara, but from my experience with 3 other 50s all leveled with healer as soon as they were available life just gets SO much easier). DPS comps could maybe also get an interrupt to lower inc dmg or some other form of CC... just something to make them as good a choice as healing comps so you can choose a personality you like, not their skillset.
  15. It's just WoW-burnout, you get used to certain things and want them in other games. I played Rift after WoW, it was pretty much the same, just new and shiny swtor had me hooked from the beginning and I was so NOT looking forward to it because it meant my Rift raiding guild disbanding, leveling was just the single best experience ever in a mmo. Still, SWTOR lacks many things and the worst part is that so much of these endless patches and bugs reminds me of WoW, Blizz also took forever and ever to fix certain things or didn't get it right for a very very long time and ignored the community (at least didn't answer, or if they answered it was just wrong in the eyes of most players). I really really REALLY liked Trion for this one, every single patch made sense, balancing was topnotch for a total of 32 (!) skilltrees across 4 classes that you could mix together any way you wanted and raid content was fun and challenging (starting Hammerknelle, the other two were pretty much just easing into raids like in any other game). After I've seen how fast patches could be applied, how there was maybe a 3 hours downtime if any every week in Rift and how well issues the community brought up were adressed I thought I've found my game - sadly I was the the only one, in the end left the game because everyone else did, if hey gained more subscribers on german servers (I play there) I'd go back in a heartbeat (and still buy swtors exanpsions just for the class stories cause these are fun^^). I think people want an mmo to be like the one and only game they play and which they can play 8 hours a day without getting bored. This is simply impossible. They kinda want this game to have everything WoW had, just in a star wars setting with voiceovers and even more content and for it to be harder and easier at the same time... everyone that came here wanted something different wow lacked in their eyes - can't satisfy anyone. Staying btw for the same reason I played wow for sooo long - the people I play with and cause it's fun a few evenings a week, for everything else I have other games (currently addicted to NBA2k12 my player... again).
  16. Yeah, pretty much question = topic. Thing is (for those who don't know); The Republic and the imperial Twi'lek are different when it comes to faces, markings and skin tones (Inqui Twi'leks can be red, reps don't have the red skin, that for a light blue one) and also scars. Now, Legacy unlocks only one of those and I wonder which one that may be or does it depend on the faction you create the char on? It is not a huge difference like Zabraks have for example but you can see it clearly in the facial details. I'm just curious as I was going to create a Twi'lek agent at some point but would like the rep. options on creation (imperial options don't cut it for blue skintones imo) and wonder if anyone has unlocked Twi'leks for Legacy and could give me some information about that. Thanks in advance.
  17. it's pretty easy getting in out without being detected and once you've done it becomes nothing but a few minutes you spend standing around, then running up to something and clicking on it. I mean I like the BH dailies overall because you can do them all in under 10 minutes without even trying hard unless there are 20 people there and thee areaquest takes forever because BW thought 8 boxes or whatever is enough for the daily.
  18. BH was the worst (imperial, haven't played rep, just watched their story on yt [JK is freakishly boring and predictable]) story for me. Let's go through it spoilerfree! All of act 1 until act 3 except the very last mission is just hunting people. Over and over and over again. You just chase one bounty after another, you are probably the single most insignificant class on the imperial side because in your class story you do absolutely nothing but get paid to butcher someone. The only saving grace is the ending when you actually have a choice who you want to kill. I mean, the companions help a lot, they are awesome (except Skadge, he's just plain dumb muscle for opening tightly closed containers or whatever) and hilarious (except Thorian, he is pretty serious). There is absolutely not a single interesting twist the entire time. I mean, you expected it to be about bounties somehow playing a BH just like you expect to kill yoour master or at least have the chance to do it playing one of the Sith classes, but it's just SO overdone. YOu go from hunt to superbounties to people the weird Sith Lord doesn't like bounties. Warrior and Inquisitor were pretty good, Warrior was more about action, revenge and rise to power whereas Inqui was more about seeking knowledge and showed the sith from the perspective of someone who just got tossed into it all. Overall though, imperial Agent storyline is far superior in every aspect to any other class story. It's unpredictable with the most interesting (even if not beloved) companions and it is the storyline out of all classes that shows you the truth behind everything, republic, empire, the war, it's just amazing. It's almost like a really good Thriller movie.
  19. Didn't read here for a while... how is Malice bread and butter for Anni? 4% higher crit chance (compared to my spec)for dots and 15% on your ragedump is hardly stronger then def. roll (there is more then enough ae dmg that you simply can't dodge and especially raiding 8 man lowering your inc dmg and making life easier for your healers is a very good thing) and defensive forms with the increased Fury generation. Depending on the encounter it doesn't make a big difference compred to Malice, when you get enough dmg in, def. forms builds fury per attack, enabling berserk to be used more often thus increasing your overall critchance with dots and making them heal your entire party. Considering nothing else besides Denova encounters it is true that def. roll is not ideal on anything after the first boss - before I put points in malice though I'd take the acc. talent instead and trash acc. on gear if possible (haven't build something in charplaner yet) and take crit or power for it (or surge, though that's just incredibly easy to cap) which would provide an overall higher DPS then up to 6% crit on roughly 1/3 of your total dmg.
  20. crit/surge should be almost uselees to to very hard DR, you almost get nothing out of it. Overall I think the matrix cube thing (3x green) is better then anything you have. I'd keep power, get a proc dmg relic and use the on use relic on bosses with short burnphases (like Soa) and the proc relic on normal bossfights without important burn phases.
  21. I don't really care about how much grip you lose while doing it with a broomstick or whatever, but the animation does look crappy for THE style that defines the tree. On a sidenot: Am I the only one who would love to see Disruption getting the Kick animation that is currently used by a skill you never use in a bossfight? It looks so awesome to kick someone in the face but you can't do it so often
  22. That's bascially all he needs to know about playstyles, DPS is fine on both with the right spec.
  23. No, it's not required, it's a nice little boost on some burn phases but nothing that makes or breaks an encounter. I can see how having Marauders as your melees currently stacking them in one grp would be better overall then any other meleeclass though and agree with OP that it should put a debuff similar to combatrez on affected targets and possibly even given to another class (would also vote for Agents AC.) For some people talking about general classbuffs; Since Legacy came out this srsly isn't an issue anymore. In my raid there is exactly 1 person that buffs and then we have all the buffs you could possibly have. I'm also quite happy about that change, we searched forever and ever for a good agent for the 5% crit buff before 1.2.
  24. srsly, anyone should be able to do it with whatever setup by now, they nerfed it very hard. Not sure if I missed it in the notes or I'm mistaken alltogether, but running it a second time for the weekly quest after servers were down for the hotfix it sure as hell felt waaaay easier, was the exact same grp except different healer, but the bosses just do less dmg. The robot deals a ton less dmg, so does lorrick + Idk if this extra dmg he receives in the final phase is new, too, I remember it took a bit longer to down him the first time and we had no gear upgrades or whatever. The Super Mario Pipe boss was a joke from the get-go.
